Great vid, buddy. You were never boring and had a ton of information. You know your stuff. Fun to watch, thanx.
Thanks!
I'm getting ready to be a 1st time buyer, so this video was absolutely perfect! Thanks for your time and effort!
Very welcome and glad you enjoyed it.
Me too !!
Me 3..lol
I went to the trailer shop today looking. I'm glad I found this video before my purchase.
Great video - first time potential buyer and now I have stuff to look for, THx!!
Def one of the best information video and instructors I've come across in my lifetime. Energy. Point. Succinct. Next! A rare breed, sir.
Thank you very much.
It's good that you pointed out all these small details. The details are important if you plan on using this trailer for a long time.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks I'm planning on converting one to live in for a few years and travel around and you gave me a lot to think about that I may not have.
Awesome! Glad I could help
Trailershowroom.com go to indiana facility and then to the masterlist and design your own trailer with shower and bathroom beds for a enclosed trailer they only byld them in indiana got mine for 8500 beautiful
I don't even hunt but I been subscribed to this dude for 7 months for this vid. Here are some notes I took:
*30 gauge exterior skin
*Stone guard 0.45 gauge+ height
*Frame paint= rhino liner type paint
* width of exterior trim
*amount of exterior lights
* sealed wheel hubs between trailer
* easy lube wheels
* always radial tires
* 3/8 plywood on walls 3/4 on floors drymax engineered .
*framing @ 16' OC
Sounds like my exact list of wants in a trailer! Well done. Glad you enjoyed the video
@Traditional Bowhunting And Wilderness Podcast ty!
Excellent video. I have had trailers for over 30 years and you pointed out things that have never crossed my mind before. Well done.
Glad you enjoyed it
Felt very long-winded at first but very thorough and glad I watched it all the way through.
Thank you. I am long winded and very repetitive. Just who I am and when I try to not be that way nothing comes out natural. Just who I am and how I talk. Glad you liked the video.
Buying one this spring to modify to go camping and haul my ATV. Thank you so very much for the educational video. It will help me immensely.
Awesome. Glad you enjoyed it. I see more and more people moding enclosed trailers to campers. Should be great and made just like you want it.
This is a great video! You saved me from saving money by buying an inferior product.
Glad you enjoyed it
Wow I'm buying one this week and you really opened my eyes. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great information. I didn't know there were so many differences in trailers.
Yep there sure is a big difference. All of them are good trailers but some of this stuff is a big deal depending on what you need the trailer for or how long you plan to keep it
I wish I had watched this video before my last trailer purchase. At least I know what I need to do to it to make it better. Thanks for the video.
Glad you enjoyed the video.
Good comparison, but wish you would have discussed leaf springs vs torsion axle, and tubular steel vs i-beam and z bar, round front, stanilizer jscks, and different trailer heights.
good points and maybe I will do another one.
I rolled my eyes when I saw 28 minutes. Glad I watched, this was info I didn't know I wanted!
Glad you enjoyed it. I'm definitely a talker🤣🤣
Awesome review. Simple honest straight forward. Thank you!
Thank you
This video helped me immensely. I learned a lot and feel a lot more confident now. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it
I knew nothing about trailers, thank you very much for this great video !! Cheers to you for educating me, I definitely will pay attention when I’m buying a trailer !!
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks Jason, for your time and another informative video. Learned alot of nice features.
Thanks! Glad you liked it.
My son has a 2 wheel trailer. Lights mounted above wheels on fenders. I serviced his wheel bearings. Cuts all over tires. Screws that hold lights on protrude through fender going over rough terrain bottoms out cut tires. Took die grinder cut them off
Yep quality control can be pretty spotty on trailers
I just learned so much. About to purchase my first trailer. Double axle or single axle is my only question left
Double. It tows better.
@@penelopepenobscot4475 thank you!
Depends on what you need. 2 axles does tow better under heavy loads but that also means 2 more tires to buy, 2 more hubs to grease and then you have brakes to change and maintain. Personally i would and do prefer single axles any time I can go that route. both sing and double are great and have pros and cons. But for me and how much I tow a trailer. the less tires and crap to maintain the better.
@@SamkoTradBow hauling tools...dry wall ,2x4s , wood ,riding mower and other home Reno stuff.
@@EnfernoMuzik yep you want a double axle for that stuff. Once you get above 2000 pounds of weight a double is the only way to and you probably want brakes on the axles
Thanks, my friend, this helps a lot. I'm currently looking to buy a v nose and a 14-footer may work for what I need it for.
Glad you enjoyed it
I think you meant the 24gage is stronger than the 30gage?
Actually I didn't mean gauge I ment thickness. .024 vs.030 thickness. I should of never said gauge
That gauge stuff messes me up. .24 is heaver than 26 on roofing . But my boat is 100 gauge aluminum and it's heaver than the 70 gauge boats ! What's up with that ?
@@SamkoTradBow I'm glad you corrected that.
@@fugoogle8907 yep so sorry I miss spoke and said gauge. Wish I could correct it but no way to now as the video is live.
@@wh8085 i think the aluminum boats its also measured in thickness. .1 vs .070
Great video and information! I’m soon going to need an enclosed trailer, so this is great information to remember! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it
Dude you wore me out. My legs hurt watching you. Lol. Great video. I am in Texas we have company's here that Kevlar. I do my dually I will be doing my trailer same way.
Where you at, where comparing trailers? I know it is in Michigan. I just watched the video. Thanks for all information, and comparing.
This was at trailers usa in grayling
Wow, you sold me. Thank you.
Welcome. Glad you enjoyed it
Extremely informative, thank you very much for taking your time to explain this to us.
glad you enjoyed it.
Wow. Very good information. I have never had a salesman go through that much information.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Excellent informative video! Definitely worth the time to watch it!
glad you enjoyed it.
Great video pal! One thing you may have missed is axle suspension type, torsion vs spring. Torsion above spring suspension. But great video!
You are 100% correct. I did not have an example of torsion to show the difference but I should of talked about it.
Go for torsion axels !
@@russpeaknuckel9525 torsion axles are great. Had them on all my snowmobile trailers. But never had a problem with the leaf springs either. But if given the choice for same money or close to it I'd go torsion as well.
I wish the industry still made narrow track 7' wide and narrower. The 7' wides use the same axle as the 8'..
This vid Is phenomenal.
Thank you
great video I'm going to buy my first trailer this weekend and I might be changing my decision on the one I was getting just because of the RV door style and the rivets due to the fact I want to put logos on it
Glad the video was helpful! Wishing you great luck with your new trailer!
Great information, thanks
welcome! Glad you enjoyed it
This was extremely informative! Thinking about getting a trailer for my moving business didn’t want to go in blind!
Yep you will want to check weights and cargo capabilities and also make sure your truck can tow thwm loaded full.
I agree whole heartily, Thanks
Amazing how trailer prices have almost doubled in 1 year. Just bought a sure-trac pro series and OUCH!
Yep its very ugly in the trailer world right now and prices are insane
I wish there are more videos like this. Thank you sir!
Glad you enjoyed it
Good info to think of before buying .
Thanks, Glad you enjoyed it.
It appears the more costly trailer has a lower roof. Not by much maybe 4” or 5”. That brings down the cost of the Rino trailer and makes it close to the cost of the Formula trailer. I’m thinking that’s why the Rino is just a few hundred dollars more, but has the extra features.
Your right the one is talller than the other by 6 inches.
You educated me ! Had no clue. Thank you so much ! Know what to look for now.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great information to take into consideration.

I don't own an enclosed trailer but this video is pretty educational.

@@oreeecraft6474 there are alot of people turning cargo trailers into campers etc. It's a great idea. I would definitely go tandem 5000 pound axles or heavier. Brakes on all 4 wheels. 12 or 16 on center floors and 16 on center walls and ceiling as well. Minimum of .030 side thickness on the side panels and have them frame in the ceiling for one or 2 roof vents or ac units.

Rhino liner but is all rusted on the left side and few small spots on bottom where the ramp door is, the painted one wasn't rusted like that, thank you for the explanation I will look for a non riveted one next time.
That's not rust it a protectant that is put on the cables and door lift spring assembly. They come that way from the factory to protect the cables and springs and wipes right off. It's not rust.
Great video man, thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it
You have a good critical eye!👍
Thanks
Excellent video, I picked up a lot of good points from this, thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it
If you are looking at hauling a side by side you may want to move the RV door to the left side of the trailer so you can open the door and get out of your side by side without crawling out.
Fantastic tip! I know back in my snowmobile days we found it interesting how eastern slender had thier front ramp door open curb passenger or curb side so they could unload. But out west in the mtns with the much deeper snow and huge snow banks they had the ramp doors on drivers side to avoid the huge snow banks. Thanks for the great tip and great comment!
the higher the gauge number the thinner the sheet metal ... and the adhesive seamed and skinned trailers depending on where they are made have a higher failure rate then the screwed or riveted sheets
This trailer is screwed along all key points and corners as well as taped. I ment thickness not gauge. Trailer walls are measured in thickness.
loved the video and all the info!! I'm way far down in Brazil but I do have a trailer that really looks like these ones. I'd like to know more about the ramp's steel wire to help bring it down and up. Would you care to show anytime? Tks bud.
Now that I reached the point where you detailed it furthermore. Sry
No worries. Glad you enjoyed the video
Wow. Great video. Many things I never thought of. New subscriber!
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it
What is the weight difference between the two? That's a huge factor as well.
Don't remeber but would not be more than 100 pound difference for equal size trailers.
the RV handles aren't flimsy... I have 20k miles on mine and it has never "popped" open. It depends on what you're purpose of the trailer is as well, mine is a living quarters and I wouldn't want a bar lock on the side nor rear door as I don't want to be locked in the trailer.
Otherwise a really good overview of trailers, thanks!
Glad they work great for you. On my actual rv the rv doors open up going down the road all the time. Even locked. Thank God for the cross bar lock folding handle. I personally will never trust rv latches after that whole debacle
Very helpful thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for making this video, helps me decide!

WHAT A GREAT VIDEO, THIS GUY REALLY KNOWS HIS STUFF! Need more RUclipsrs like this!! im sharing this video! would do I buy these Rino Trailers at?
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed and shared it. Rhino manufacturing is who made the rhino trailer. Google them and you can find out if they have any trailer lots around you that carry them.
great breakdown, very detailed and informative, you definitely know your enclosed trailer info. that inside door hinge is pretty crappy. well worth the difference of just $400, or 1/13th more. hell the metal coating is worth that alone... the more expensive one is built to last... i will say one thing, some plastics are as strong as metal, especially aluminum, i've scrapped a few things and many times it's easier to break the aluminum than the plastic it's connected to, having said that, this plastic door hook doesn't look to be high quality. and it should be just as easy to put a door chain on your door.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the video. You also make some great points
Great video, thank you for sharing your knowledge.

Great video. I just bought a small 4x6 cargo trailer. Perhaps somewhat odd size. It's limited to a luggage trailer or small mower or washing machines. Stuff like that.
I bought a Homesteader Fury trailer. Quality is okay. 4x6 all all entry level trailers , unless you with something niche like Sundowner at triple the price.
Some points you point out I've discovered. As I said some Pai t quality could be better. I've been searching for a small 4x6 trailer I had another one available to me closer it didn't not have any stone guard on it. Went out of my way and drove a distance to get another one that had 2ft stone guard on the front. I definitely wouldn't buy one without it.
A couple of nice things about my trailer it only has a 2,000 lb gross rating. It does have a Dexter axle. It does have the EZ lube hubs. It does have a screwed exterior but it's .030 aluminum skin. All things you point out.
I work through a union craft. Sometimes my jobs require me to work out of town for extended periods of time. I don't like driving a big vehicle. I drive a smaller SUV. I wanted a trailer that was light enough that I was capable of towing it with a small SUV. It's why I got the size I did. Basically I'm just using it for luggage, tools, clothing, personal items that I have to take with me if I'm out of town for extended amount of time.
I bought it and I painted the plywood walls all white to brighten it up. I installed a charcoal gray carpet on the floor. I've installed the EZ track system on the floor and walls. Another thing I liked was the walls on the 4x6 Fury was 3/8 plywood. Some other models I seen just had luan plywood on sides. I've also installed the stabilizer jacks at the rear.
Sounds like a great little trailer! Yeah bot many high end features in the 4x6 or 5x8 trailers, but trailers of that size don't need the upgrades as they can't carry the heavy loads and don't have the tall long walls to need the extra support etc. Thst 4x6 yoy have is a great trailers and will serve your needs very well for a very long time!
@@SamkoTradBow Glad to hear that it will last me a long time since it won't be worked hard under heavy loads.
I could have bought a 5x8. The smaller, lighter, 4x6 is more matched to my vehicle. If I bought the 5x8 on a 2990 gross frame . I wouldn't be able to maximize it's abilities aways.
@@markdecker9605 I had. 4x6 just like yours and it was such a great easy rowing well mannered trailer that never let me down and I got top dollar when I sold it too. You are gonna be very happy with it
Great information!
Thank you
Thank you a great info video

Wow thanks I am totally sold on that trailer! All of the ones near where I live are super cheaply made with a crazy price tag! Brand new painted trailers rusting after just a month of sitting on the lot. 😑Where can I buy a Rhino Trailer?
Trailers by rhino is thier website
How much did it cost you to wrap with business marketing? Thanks for the video by the way. Trying to decide between 6x10 or 6x12.
I had the stickers made and installed them myself. Its not hard to do. And there are a million vinyl letter print shops online that are ll have design options on thier sites so you can make it like you want and they ship them right to you. Think it cost me 180 bucks to do both sides of my trailer.
Great job!! This chick says thanks!!!
Thank you.
The better of the two the grey one what brand is this of trailer
rhino manufacturing
Interesting ... I know boat trailers and horse trailers but never stopped to think about utility trailers. Good job.
Quick question ... If you have choice of trailer brakes, do you prefer surge or electric?
Glad you liked the video! I prefer electric brakes as its easier to back up with. You fight the brakes when backing up with surge brakes. Its not horrible but sometimes is a pain in the butt. like backing up hill etc. Also like the ability to adjust the electric brakes with the in vehicle control based on how heavy the load is. so on a boat trailer i dont mind surge brakes. But on a horse trailer I would definitely want electric.
Hope Rhino's stock is soon to Skyrocket!😶Thank You,🇺🇲👍
Glad you enjoyed the video
Good video. You didn’t talk about the brakes. Do they have brakes on both front and rear axles.just wondering my forest river came with brakes on both axles. That’s a very important safety feature if you tow on hilly country is like North Carolina, Georgia with a lot of mountains and curves, twisty roads
Yep most good trailer companies today put brakes on both axles. There may be some sizes they only put them on one axle do to the capacity restrictions. And honestly if the cargo capacity of the trailer did was not high enough to meet the needs of brakes on both axels id prefer to have them on just one. Less maintenance! But seems like most put them on both axels now on most trailers.
What do you think about the torsion spread axles
they are fantastic. Had them on my snowmobile trailers and they worked excellent.
How do you about vents? Are they required or needed? Bought a small 4x6 trailer and looked a different options and manufacturers. This particular trailer had some good points I liked and bought it. I had some negatives too.
One being there are no vents on the trailer. I've already accessorial it and added carpeting in the floor. Thinking vents is must have now.
The vents are for getting fumes out if you acer transporting gas or lawn mowers etc that have fumes. Other wise not really needed in a small cargo trailer.
Wow!!! Thanks!!
Welcome
Thank you for sharing much appreciated!
Very welcome.
Great video sir!! Very informative!!! Thank you for sharing
Very welcome. Glad you enjoyed it.
Love that you walked back and forth to show the differences each time. You should get paid by the mile on this video, sir. :)
hahaha and it was very cold out. should get cold weather pay!! lol
It's surprising that a company would compromise their product in so many ways for what seems like a very small reduction in price. The way they do this, they have an increased parts inventory and different assembly procedures to contend with; I don't see the company being ahead in any way with the cheaper version. Same for the customer!
Agree 100%. But pretty much all trailer manufacturers that offer different levels of trailers do this
@@SamkoTradBow Some companies go for many years with a lower bottom line, because they either didn't know how to streamline their products or because they were too busy to take a real look at profit margins and customer satisfaction. Sadly, some good workers/owners, guys doing the good work and planning, aren't that good at business procedures and following up. In this case, as a buyer, I would need to save a lot more than $400 to buy the cheaper version, which i wouldn't do anyway. Thanks for a very good video.
@@lewishodge4935 agree 100%
What's different from a 2 wheel and 4 wheel trailer..?
The weight capacity they can carry. Normally a single axle trailer is 1 3500 pound axle and a tandem axle trailer has 2 3500 pound axles. You can all get 3k, 5k, 7k, 10k, 12k etc capacity axles. Also because anything designed to carry loads over 3500 pounds by law has to have trailer brakes on the axle.
Nice comparison. Bur you got it wrong when you were talking about gage thickness. The lower the number the thicker the material is. 32 gage is very thin . 24 gage is thicker then 32 , and 16 gage is a lot thicker then 24 gage .
Trailer walls are measured in thickness not gauge. I ment thickness
Great video 👊🏻
Thanks
I missed reference to company/ model of those two trailers...? Would appreciate, thank you!
the grey one is a rhino and the black one is a formula. Rhino is excellent and so is formula. Formula also offers a higher end model similar to the rhino but I do believe the price of that higher end formula is quite a bit more than the rhino.
Do you deliberately choose a flat roof trailer over one with a roof with rounded sides?
Round side trailers have to be flat front. I like the v nose for the extra space
What’s your opinion on flat roof vs round edged roof?
Can't get a round roof in a v nose I don't think. And the v nose is important for me for better fuel mileage and extra space. But I believe rh fiberglass round top is stronger and more durable.
Thanks for great info.
Very welcome
