One thing to point out about the extinguisher according to fire department people I know, is that it belongs by your exit door and is visible rather than in a cupboard. Hi, I am glad you started with simple size and insulation information. In my opinion it is the #1 overlooked detail in trailers; in hot weather especially. I bought a new trailer with Azdel composite panels and I could not cool a 14' trailer with 13,500 BTU a/c in AZ. I think air infiltration is a big enemy too. I'm getting ready to build one very similar to yours. RUclips is reading my mind with this suggestion since I was watching classic rock videos... Great job!
You are absolutely right, insulation is KEY to lasting comfort, in all climates. With this rig, we have spent many months in AZ and hot climate, the 9k BTU mini split we have now keeps the place cool quite well, thanks to the insulation! And warm and toasty in single digit winter weather! But sweet, I’m glad you were able to check out my video and hopefully got some ideas/inspiration from it 😎 Best of luck on your upcoming build too!! If you have any questions, you know where to come 😉 🙏🏽 🫡

Thank you Sir 🫡 I appreciate that greatly! Probably just a little bit more attention and care put into this build , compared to warehouse assembly line 😅 Thanks for checking out the video!
From this perspective, the detail and quality is up there. I know you notice what we don't , but dang. One of the better conversations I've seen. With the lack of experience, my hats off to ya. I'll be saving this vid and using it as a reference for mine when i do it.

Thank you so much Darren!! 🙏🏽.. I agree with you! The whole “starting from a square box” thing is much easier especially for a new builder. I just want to say that this is absolutely beautiful. Obviously so much thought went into this build. I also want to say THANKS for taking time at the beginning to discuss how much space that you had to work with before and after insulation. you did such a great job of explaining all that stuff.
Well thank you so greatly 🙏🏽 😊 I appreciate you checking out the video and providing some positive feedback! It sure was a passion project of mine and has been worth every penny so far 😎 Cheers!
Great video! I would like to know more about how your Senville unit has performed and the wattage it draws (heating and cooling). Has 1000 watts of solar been enough power? Has cloudy days been a problem?
Hey Scott! Thanks for checking out the video. You can likely find comments from others where I have answered that same question in more depth, along with a bunch of other questions that I get, but in short Yes the solar has been adequate for the mini split for us. So the AC pulls about 750 watts when its on full blast, and about 500-ish watts when its on ECO mode (75 degree temp). This is a cyclem, meaning it goes on for a bit, then cuts off for a bit, and repeats that so its not a constant draw always. My panels do not tilt so we actually get like 730-810 watts on a sunny day, and that has still been fine for us. If we are in HOT places (100+ degree's) then yeah the AC is running full blast, along with all our other electrical stuff and the batteries may charge just slowly, but I will plug in the generator to top off by end of night just cause I am OCD about things. haha. Hope that helps!
Really cool cargo trailer, tiny home. I'm building one as well and I heard you say that you go out and open your grey water valve. I put in a 12 volt solenoid, which makes life so nice, just turn on the switch and all the grey water goes out automatically. Look it up, easy install and very helpful.
Hey George, thanks for checking out the video man!! .. Yes, I know exactly what you are talking about. I almost did that very thing. Decided not to. Turning a valve once a week or two wasn't too bad, so I just stuck with the old school method. lol .. I do appreciate you shooting out a tip like that though! I did end up using a solenoid valve just like that for the propane line. Its outside, under the trailer. Basically it shuts off the propane whenever we are not cooking (to prevent a leak unknowingly inside). Its made for Gas of course, not water. Very helpful indeed!
@@jbovenzi Awesome!! So happy to hear that. Study it and take notes of the things you like (assuming you’re going to be building one yourself). Appreciate you taking the time to check it out!

Okay, I’ve watched a heck of a lot of conversions in these past five years, and I gotta tell ya, I love your electrical section. Love love how everything is nice, neat and inviting to look at, rather than a jumbled mess and hope for the best situation. If I was to have my dreams come true, my ideal conversion would be this type of trailer. Plus, my husband wants something that he can leave behind to keep our spot and be able to drive off to say, the grocery store or what have you. I would also want an oven since I love to bake and cook a good number of our meals from it, so it would just make sense to me. It would also drive me batty thinking of all of the home cooked from scratch recipes that would be eliminated from our means to do so. So, if I was to be completely honest, I’d have to admit that your kitchen is by far my favorite and definitely one I would copy some things from. And seeing all of those cupboards and even those on the opposite wall teared me up and got me to thinking. Like, I could store some of my Grandmother’s pots and pans, and some of my Mom’s and even a few of mine. Absolute bliss is what I’d call it. And I love the colors that you both had chosen as well. Very warm and inviting. Thank you so much for showing us your conversion, you’ve done an amazing job and one to be dang proud of too. Be well good people, stay between the lines and stay smiling, life is good.
Thank you so much for the positive feedback my friend! It really means a lot.. This project was certainly a passion project for me, and I am happy to be able to show it on RUclips and give others the inspiration and ideas for their builds. Thank you for watching. Stay blessed! 😇
@@whoiskyran1446 - You are ever so welcome and it is so well deserved. Have a blast on your travels and don’t let the hard days get you down for too long. Do what needs to be done and get back at it. One thing I’ve preached for decades is not to let the things out of your power get you off track or down, this especially includes negativity. If there are instances that happen completely out of your control, refuse to let it bring you to that level. You are better than that. My daughter would always ask in these circumstances why I wasn’t upset or angry and I always told her, it’s a waste of my energy, which in all honesty, it is. For an example, let’s say you got a flat tire, which would disrupt your timetable. Is the flat tire your fault? For the most part, of course not. So, you let your initial response out of your system and then get to work on changing it. And because it was so hot out and a more difficult job then expected, you treat yourself and those around you to a nice, cold drink with let’s say, ice cubes, which is a treat in your circumstance. I love ice cubes with my water, so that’s what I was leaning to, so be sure to have what is yours. A small celebration of completion and back on the road in good spirits. There are so many things in life that will get you down, but please, if it is anything that had been out of your control, simply let it go and return to your normal, happy go lucky self. It’s amazing to look back over the years and see those tiny blips that might have had you if you had allowed it. My last words of advice, is to keep a journal of your travels. It is the one thing I regret when I had backpacked across our western states when I had been around your age. You’ve got some amazing energy going on there, so it simply tells me you will flourish from your experiences. And as my best friend, Ponytail Kim would say, “Every day is a beautiful day.” I hadn’t meant to go on like this, so please forgive an older lady who is simply proud of you and only wanting to share some sage advice that has truly made a difference in my world. And who knows, a few years down the road when my husband retires, we may be asking for your sage advice and counsel. Now that would be so cool. Be well, my friend
@@maiingan07 You've shared some invaluable life lessons that I will carry with me on my travels and beyond. Your perspective on not letting things beyond our control affect our happiness is a powerful reminder. Your analogy of the flat tire is spot on - it's a reminder that we can always find a way to turn setbacks into opportunities for something positive. Thank you again for your warm and wise words. You've brightened my day and added a special touch to my journey. "Every day is a beautiful day," indeed, and I'm grateful to have crossed paths with you.

Thank you!!! First build with a separate toilet FINALLY
That was a MUST for us!
Best one I've seen hands down 💯💪🏾

And as my best friend, Ponytail Kim would say, “Every day is a beautiful day.”
I hadn’t meant to go on like this, so please forgive an older lady who is simply proud of you and only wanting to share some sage advice that has truly made a difference in my world.
