After building RVs myself for the last 36 years, I'm always impressed by the custom building of units by content creators on RUclips. Of course Haxman did not disappoint and based on your skills, my expectations before watching the video were higher for you. Good Job!!! BTW you have a beautiful family, you're a lucky man.
Well put Scott! Agree 100% even for experienced handymen he’s very entertaining and informative. Plus I have a daughter I try to keep engaged so it’s cool to see a lot of similarities with us. He’s a friend we’d all enjoy having.
I struggled to carry that tank when it was full and it would splash while dumping. A homemade compost toilet would be easier to dump because it's light and doesn't splash. Just build a plywood box with a hinged top that has a hole cut in it with a toilet seat mounted to the top. Drop a 5 gallon bucket in the box. Use cheap pine pellets for odor and moisture control. 1 scoop for pee and 2 scoops for poop. Dump in the woods or bury. The pine pellet horse bedding turns into saw dust when it gets wet. Good for cat litter too.
Thumbs up to daddy daughter work I too had all girls thy were always my helpers for everything. My youngest is now into welding and equipment operator , and even worked assembling new tractors out of crates you go girls you can do anything.
If you ran a longer piece of tubing between your sink and grey water catchment then you would make a “p-trap” to keep down the smells from the grey-water.
Love your trailer. I have a 7x14 cargo camper conversion, and now I park it on my property that I just purchased this year and now use that as my office. I have a shower and 800 Watts solar setup, and can also use it to plug into any residential outlet or RV park. Works great!
I may have said this 2 years ago, so forgive if so, but I have a mod that you and your viewers might like to add to their trailer camper builds. First off, one of my sons owns a garage door business, and that's where this idea came from. I get a lot of his take-off parts before he trashes them! If you take a garage door raising tube cross tube with bearing brackets and pulleys and mount it either on the back wall over the rear doors or on the floor, under your bench, you can hook up a simple cheap 2000 lb Harbor Freight winch cable to a pull drum attached to the cross tube, and some small pulleys with plastic covered cable through some pulleys and raise that bunk bed up and down with the 4 cables attached at, or near, the corners of that bed frame. No springs needed. This way it can be raised or lowered by even your smallest child. And be stopped at any height so a taller person can sit at the dining table without hitting their head. And still leave room for the person on the bed, if the trailer height is extra tall like this. And if you cut your stop blocks and use several separate hinges, you can easily set stop blocks to set the bed on at different heights to lower the bed to, if you want. I've built a setup like this on my 17' cargo trailer I built a few years ago, so it would be a toy hauler and camper. Sold it to my son, and he has since sold it again this year after many years of use. The beauty of this is you can cut the length of the tube sown to any size that will fit to mount the tube lengthwise , the width of and bed, on the trailer, the width of the bed behind the drawer storage and just run cables through holes to get to the pulleys. Or just build the winch and cross tube in the underside of the bed frame. All kinds of possibilities.
Love this video!! I thank you for involving your Daughter’s in your process, Too many Dads these days only teach their sons or not even bothering with teaching their kids all these processes that can certainly aid in life’s adventures. I had to learn them by myself with many frustrations. (but now I have more power tools than my moms husband AND I know how to use them properly! Love your build! My Daughter and I will be starting our own build soon. Thank you!
Your very cool daughters developed some awesome skills helping their daddy build out the trailer. Good on you daddy! I use to have to help my dad with all kinds of chores around our place. I didn't always like helping at the time. Later I realized I know how to do things that other people. both men and women, don't know how to do. Now I appreciate that my dad made me help him!
Not sure how I landed on this page, but I’m very thankful I did. I think it was divinely appointed. This is very nice work. I want to make a small concession trailer, I know basic stuff about carpentry. I have built small rectangular small chicken coops and beds, and nice benches. Nothing fancy, just basic strong with clean edges type stuff. Your channel makes me want to try and make my own concession push cart to start then get my trailer when I can and convert and do work with my son and or daughters. I know I can do it. This encourages me so much. Thank you for sharing, and yall be safe with those hurricanes you’re prepping for. 🙏🏽 ❤.
A HUGE salute to you for teaching your daughters skills which too many people still consider for males only. I am the oldest of three girls and back when I was their age, over 50 years ago (cough, cough), most people frowned on my Dad teaching us "man work". God did the knowledge make a tremendous difference not only in what I could do, but if I had to hire someone, I knew if they were doing what I wanted done, correctly. Again, kudos to you sir! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼Aunt Granny
Your a very patient and loving dad the way you work with your daughters. My dad would have threw out a few expletives while I was helping him lower the table and the upper bed. 🤣
I know this is an old video, but I just had to comment. I LOVE the way you involved your kids in the build! It's reassuring to see kids learning practical skills these days. Shooting space aliens doesn't pay the bills or help during an evacuation. Good job dad!
Awesome trailer conversion build!🌠 Your daughters will have some GREAT build & camp memories. Quick tip: we use the portable toliet replacement biodegradable bags for the thetford cassette potty...makes the dumping of "the #2bizness" easier and a super huge time saver on cleaning & scrubbing inside.. just a helpful tip someone shared with us awhile bck.
I just finished watching your series on your cargo trailer build and found it informative and often hilarious! You have a lovely family as well, I can tell that you are a great dad!
Lovely trailer to RV conversion. It's designed really nice and practical, too. I adore the extra bunk bed layout and build, very ingenious, anf it looks very safe and sturdy. It's great the way these conversions are put together so much better than RVs that virtually start falling apart before you leave the dealer's lot. Really well done!
Fun video. I definately got a few good ideas from your build! I especially liked the "build video montages" you snuck in there. I saved this to my "Van Life Build" playlist. There are a few good ideas I wanna see again soon. Thanks for sharing!
Haha that's life for you as soon as your done or close to being done with something you have to do something else. But whom ever you sell it to is getting a very nice trailer!
I’m in the middle of converting my 7x14 cargo trailer to a toy hauler camper and I really like the table post support you used. Perfect I didn’t want one sticking up or the hole. Thanks.
Great video. A lot of interesting ideas. For the sliding lift bunk, you might get even more utility if you add an intermediate level by cutting the supports in half. Still use them both for full extension, or 1 of 2 for 1/2 lift. 1/2 lift would give increased ability to sit under the bunk, while preserving the ability to be in the bunk (at the same time).
Literally, I was just thinking what I should have for lunch when you poured your "milkshake" from the toilet. I need more time now. I like this video. I live in a tiny house and like it very much. Good ideas that I will use. Thanx.😊
For head safety on your door you could hang something lightweight like a windchime or something like it to visually remind you to duck. 👍 I love what y'all did !!!
Yes; You could plan that 20 plus footer with the rear elevator bed on cables and a kitchen in the front V nose area. They also come up to 8.5 feet wide!
Try using a tension system for a garage door on both side to help raise and lower the bed . Another option would be four linear actuators to help raise and lower the bed then you could just flip a switch.
What a great job you did on your trailer. I just finished doing my 7 x 12 conversion and posted my video this morning. I wish I had seen yours prior to doing mine lol. Great video.
My husband and I converted our 10 x 6 box trailer into a camp trailer in 2019 and had the same exact problem with bumping our heads on the door. Our solution was to install a screen that had a magnetic closure so either coming in or going out we HAVE to use our hands and duck our head. Best under $50.00 purchase on Amazon! 😁 Nice job on your trailer.
I love this video.. dad and his girls, so happy to see videos like this makes me smile and yes your a hilarious dad 👈🏾 😆 funny keep up the great works man you and the girls
Great job man and great haven the kids helping and learning life as they grow Enjoy all the little moments as possible, they sneak by so fast. God bless and waiting on the next video, my son has 4 girls so I see a lot in you guys as I see in him and his girls
Great build. I have knocked my head many a time on my camper door. I haven't done it yet but I'm going to attach maybe some beads or some colored strings or something from the door opening that will hang down in front of my eyes. This may help me notice them and remind me not to step up and hit my head. Just a thought, it might work.
That is a totally awesome idea we're thinking about buying a cargo trailer and converting it to an RV. However we also still need to use it as a cargo trailer so because we buy and sell storage units. And we travel from state to state with incense and handcrafted items.

Thanks for the tour. What a simple uber useful design and layout! So I'm now hoping if we build one our daughter will want to use it as her tiny house when she turns 18 (she's turning 11) so yes I'm trying to allow her to spread her wings but still keep her in hug range for mommy and daddy. 😆
I love that he has his daughters helping him with the building. Way to go Dad!
I absolutely love that you include your girls in your projects. Good dad!
Me too! 😁 Thank you!
That potty to milk shake transition is just the kind of high quality content I’ve come to expect from your channel 😂😂😂
I like to keep it classy. 😂
@@HAXMAN hilarious and informative all at the same time. Love it!!!

Your girls are really good helpers and they seem to tolerate dad jokes well. That’s all a dad can ask for. :-)

I like the simplicity of the upper bed and not needing electricity to lower and lift it away
Potty to shake 😂😂😂 then the what!!! I nearly wet myself, love the build really simple yet functional.

Bunk Bed... pulleys, two ropes, turnbuckles, connected to a single counterweight on one end will do wonders.

The new incinerator toilets are a game changer, I hope the price goes down on them a little though.
You should do a pulley system for your bunk bed 💪🏼
What a lovely family! They are learning life saving lessons young and not afraid of hard work! Great job!
Get a pool noodle for the top of the door, split it down the middle and just slips right on and off ,brighter the better! Nice build!

Microwave/air fryer combos are great and multipurpose, baking grilling, air frying, microwaving. Walmart has one for $100.

Neat prototype. Might want to use a small pulley system or weight balancing on a rope to assist in lifting and descending by one person.
I agree. The bunk bed could use a few upgrades but overall it's very creative.

Great job , great family🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Hang some yellow ribbon down on the door way to remind you of a low door.
Yes; You could plan that 20 plus footer with the rear elevator bed on cables and a kitchen in the front V nose area. They also come up to 8.5 feet wide!
Simple, yet effective. Great bunk idea 👍
Thanks! 👍
11:57 I think you were looking for "acoustic dampening" 😉
Awesome job on the trailer conversion!
Exactly! Thanks! 😄
Acoustic damping, to be precise.
Dampening is to make something slightly wet. Like moistening.
Maybe hang wind chimes in the doorway.
Try using a tension system for a garage door on both side to help raise and lower the bed . Another option would be four linear actuators to help raise and lower the bed then you could just flip a switch.
Love it ! You're daughters are beautiful & your hilarious ! I about died laughing with the chocolate milk cut-away. 🤣

Loved the video. I've heard that horse trailers make for great camper / toy haulers as they are built very strong for obvious reasons like horses.
