    Dude kudos for using push connectors, I'm a handyman for 20-something years and when push connector came out I embrace them with a big hug, a lot of my electrical friends do not like them because apparently they claim they are old school and love wire nuts, but let me tell you this, push connector save you a lot of freaking time and I have never ever had a problem with them they work all the time and take up less space in your electrical box, thumbs up dude 👍

    If you really wanted to get technical, you could mount switches to your folding outriggers so that you could have warning lights come on at the front of your trailer when they are not in the up position. When all driving lights are hooked up for travel.

    Hey Daniel, I live up here in Woodinville. I was watching your video as I'm about to do some similar upgrades to my 24' trailer. I'm considering doing a Raptor DIY bedliner on the floor of the trailer, but also the roof to really seal it good. You know how much rain/weather we get around here.

    I don't like that lap sealant stuff. It works but you have to go over it every 6-12 months. Instead I usually scrape off all the lap sealant and put down a bead of something like Sikaflex and then put the Eternabond tape over the seam. They make a white Vinyl backed for rubber roofs and an aluminum backed tape for metal roofs. Comes in 4 inch wide by 50 foot roofs along with the sizes. I find it lasts much longer then the lap sealant.

    I really appreciate you taking the time to video, edit and upload your videos. A few have given me some ideas of different things to do or different ways to do them. I'm not going to rip into you about any procedure you may do that some people consider a short cut and there will ALWAYS be a handful of people that have a better way or the "only" way they think you should do things. The way you do whatever you end up doing that works for you is the way you do it. Period. If I or anyone else doesn't like the way you have done something, they have the ability not to do it. Nothing complicated about that.
    What I will ask you to consider, is adding a wireless lavalier or lapel mic to your production. There are multiple brands and models for $50 or less with great, even awesome reviews and a few of them that come with an adaptor to fit most cell phones for those going that route. Some even come with two mics in the kit. One a clip on lapel mic and the other attached to a wire head band similar to a computer headset with boom mic, just no ear speakers since it's only used to hold a mic. Both mics and receiver along with pretty much all types of adaptors for most connections/jacks. No separate audio track to line up with your video since it is recorded directly to the camera. It couldn't be any easier or more affordable. Running the wire from the small waste clipped transmitter up inside your shirt to the mic ensures it will remain secure won't get caught on anything while you are moving around doing your work. This would VASTLY improve your audio which for the most part is very clear, and it would produce a much more even level of audio and keep me from having to constantly adjust my speakers every time you fade out or your audio level drops to a lower level when you turn away from your current mic setup. If you decide not to address your audio that's fine and your prerogative. I for one would greatly appreciate any attempt made on your part to address the audio level as it would make your videos that much more enjoyable.
    Keep on doing what you do & thanks again for all the hard work !

    Daniel at 2:35 you are drilling up thru the frame with the drill above your head and about 6" away from your eyes and not wearing any eye protection. Please learn quickly and get some eye protection on. It is not fun when the ophthalmologist tells you don't move your eyes or you could become blind while he starts pushing that drill bit straight into your eye to drill out those metal shavings. No joke. Take it from someone who has been there and done that.

    • @ericunder
      @ericunder 4 года назад +3

      As someone who has installed backup cameras on several trailers and 5th wheels I can tell you that trailers do not have back up lights. Typically you would wire the camera power to the back lights so they automatically come on when you put the tow vehicle into reverse. However since you can't do that with trailers I wire them to the running/market lights (just like in this video), then when you need the camera you just turn on the tow vehicle lights which turns on the running/market lights thusly turning on the back up camera.

    • @ddforrester
      @ddforrester 4 года назад +1

      The seven-way from the tow vehicle does indeed have a backup lighting circuit. On my trailer the lead has the circuit also. Checked the box under the trailer and it was nutted off. I just ran a new 16ga wire from it to the camera location on the back of the trailer. Hooking it up to the clearance lights means the tow vehicle will at least have to have the parking lamps on. Running a reverse or backup wire wasn't difficult but the way he did it works well too. Just gotta tell the operator to turn on the parking lamps.
