There is an amazing fan-recorded concert footage from a few days ago that you might find interesting too. Here's the link to Square Hammer by itself. ruclips.net/video/FXCkWTNO8aQ/видео.html
Believe, it's always a mask. Tobias has never shown his real face (even painted) onstage or on any official Ghost related stuff. Of course we all know him by now and what he looks like, but it was fun back in the day when he wouldn't show his real face anywhere at all, even on interviews haha.
The masks that Tobias wears are made of silicone and are very lifelike, and cover everything but his eyes and ears (the Papa I mask, however, had it's own ears). There are versions that have the skull face-paint, and those without for when the "makeup" is supposedly off.
This music video is actually much more interesting and important than you think. Because here we get a first glimpse of the future but no one sees it. That's because Tobias is so smart that it always takes much more than one time before we get it. At the end you see a red Cardinal bird. Nothing important you think? Well watch Ghost chapter 1 and see who's making an entrance. Cardinal Copia wearing a red dress. .... This is not a one thing only in this video. Tobias always hides things in plain sight. In the Jesus He Knows Me he hides the psalm 103.3 in the radio frequency. And the list goes on but i will not tell you all of them. I will be back for more. /Magnus
I first heard Ghost in mid August and immediately loved them. Luckily for me, I was able to see them live on Aug 24, 2023. The concert was awesome. I haven’t stopped listening to them since!
One of my favorite live performances of "Square Hammer" is the San Bernardino video from 7/1/17. Ben Christo was the lead guitarist on this tour (had only a brief stint with the band) and is so awesome with regard to his energy, showmanship and interactions with the crowd. The energy of the band overall is outstanding in this live version.
Fun to watch you react. This was my first Ghost song and then I started from the first album. It’s an ongoing saga, like a satanic soap opera.Start from the beginning of it all! ✌️❤️
Of course, this is Papa III. He was killed off and replaced by Cardinal Copia (see 5:07 in your reaction video for the clue!), who was eventually promoted at a Mexico concert to Papa Emeritus IV...
The videos rarely has anything to do with the lyrics. It's more about the story of the lore. This song is describing Freemason rituals and symbolism. And it's actually objective without any judgment. I've heard that Tobias is a Freemason himself.
No, you're not stupid, you're right actually. Most of the videos are a distraction, sometimes are just shortened versions of the studio ones, and sometimes they are made to fool you, in thinking the song's better than it is. So, I also do prefer, listening to the song without any fancy makeup. Ghost's "Call me little sunshine" is one example, where for the standard airtime compliance, they shortened a great song to death. You just keep doing what you do, it's perfectly fine.
You have to do some songs from the newest Ghost album "Impera" "Bite of Passage/Respite On The Spitalfields" is a great song. It's about Jack The Ripper.
This was back in May. I kind of forgot about it.
"Mary On A Cross" is coming soon...
Enjoy your Thursday, Nameless Ghouls!

I love the reaction shots when he is in the theater; both the one you pointed out and getting out of the seats one.
“That’s not Thor’s hammer, but… it’s a good hammer.”

It's A Mask With Paint On The Mask.
Its a MASK!!!!!
Yeah. Papa 3 is so adorable especially in this video 🤣
Pappa as Charlot? Obviously related to the origiinal video for From the Pinnacle to the Pit.
Bats! Get a bat and hit the bats. Why? Because they're bats, man. Batman?
Love your show, Lady L.
🤘😎🤘🦇🔨

It's actually both, a mask and makeup!
The video for From the Pinnacle to the Pit kiiinda serves as the precursor to this one. You might want to know.
Also, there's an actual hint as to the next lead in here: there's a cut of a red bird amongst the monochromatic imagery. That bird is a cardinal.

Gulag/Zombie queen Acoustic live... You'll see what I mean.

This music video inspires me less than some others. Song is great, though. Music video is fine, but, IMO, they do much better in others.
It’s meant to look like makeup on a face …on a mask if that makes sense lol
Please do Secular haze, it's gonna rock your socks off.😂
