Yes. Welcome to a world of Ghost:) It`s a Swedish band that kind of blends metal with pop with satanic wibes:) I recommend you to react to Mary on a Cross (live from Tampa) He is and Dance Macabre to start with. But everything is great from Ghost:)
I like Ghost when this country made them to change their name to Ghost BC in early days of Ghost with Tobias Forge sang Ritual. Because some of the right felt that Ghost made of fun of organized religions. They sarcastically humorized Catholic Religion. Hell, Ozzy and Alice Cooper have songs that satanic themes

Ghost are such a magnificent band. Crack songwriters, very witty lyricists, deeply satirical, and always fun. Above all, though, Ghost is theater. Even as a long-time fan, there's something actually so super special in Square Hammer. It's like MSG for the ears in the best way. It's so fun and tasty. Irresistible. Must dance. 😂

A great party song, with a very sing-along-ish chorus. "Mary on A Cross", their biggest hit, made popular by Tik Tok. Don't ask. As a person who have listened to them since the beginning I almost envy you your journey of discovering them for the first time.
Welcome along! Thanks so much for reacting to Ghost! If you really liked this, then i'd strongly recommend reacting to "Dance Macabre" next, very much cut from the same cloth! A few people are mentioning "Cirice" which is also a great song but very intense so be ready for that!
This was my first ghost song too, I was seeing Iron Maiden on thier Book of Souls tour in California. The openers were all local bands who... werent super great... but then Ghost came out as the main opener and I was instantly a fan. They put on a Fantastic show!
You could see this song as a opener where the singer pap is responding to calls of fans begging for a rock concert. Or a dark entity being summoned. The movie they just put out in theaters was amazing. The band dosent take it seriously but they are gifted and daring song writers and preformers with many layers and meanings to the songs. The fans are also great
Square Hammer was my first introduction to Ghost ! I caught the ending of Square Hammer on the radio and only caught the title and watched the video later here on RUclips and I still didn't listen to any other songs by Ghost until Halloween Kills came out and their song Hunters Moon was used during the end credits than I saw the trailer for their concert movie Rite Here Rite Now and I had to go see it and after seeing it I became more hooked on their music and them as a band!! Mary On A Cross, The Future is a Foreign Land are aa couple more songs I love!! And Baltimore, Maryland is there first stop on thier 2025 world tour and I'm hoping I can get a ticket ? I would really like to see them live in concert!
I'm really jealous of you right now. Ghost has a huge catalogue of albums and EP:s with not a single bad song, to my opinion. The style is wide, but the tunes are always very good. The albums are intended to be played from back to back, which makes the journey fantastic. If you want a song like this, listen to Mary on a cross, a little bit harder, then Faith is more the style. Otherwise, I can recommend Rats, He is or of course, Cirise, which got a Grammy for best metal act in 2016. I wish I could discover them right from the start again!
There is this Indian Folk Metal band called Bloodywood. These dudes are insane and they have really powerful lyrics. They mix heavy metal and rap with traditional Indian instruments and they sound amazing.
@@StaceyRPGReacts These guys usually mix both English and Hindi language and in case there are no subtitles then tap on the cc button the Hindi lyrics gets auto translated. A few of their songs to start with, I'd recommend Danna Dan, Yaad and Jee Veerey. Their songs talk about social issues and trust me you won't be disappointed.
They are more than masks, its a persona and it's creatively entertaining how they handle the Papas with a back story and lore. Concerts are "rituals" with a presentation of being at a religious service. It's just fun!
Ghost is an interesting concept. They have built an image based on anti-religion (Catholic in particular) and is basically Tobias Forge as singer, composer and musician. The faceless musicians allows him to change them out without anybody knowing, so he controls the band in every aspect. He has cahnged his personna several times Papa Emeritus and other versions of Popes. Tobias is a Freemason, as am I, and this song is directly related to Masonry, but again, the whole devil aspect is part of the schtick. I assure you, as a sixth generation Mason and four time Past Master, there is nothing in the order about Satanism. Tobias actually laughs about the whole anti-religion thing. The lines "Are you on the square, are you on the level" is directly taken from Masonry. I find Ghost fascinating, as members are not known, and even Tobias was trying to keep his identity secret until it was revealed. You really ought to watch a couple of versions live ... they are quite entertaining.
Despite reports otherwise that he belongs to the Swedish Order of Freemasons, there isn't any evidence that Tobias is a Mason, and he doesn't seem to have ever claimed to be one. Unlike Anglo-Masonry, the Grand Lodges of Sweden and the other Nordic countries, which all work in the Swedish Rite, require all candidates to be Christians even in the blue lodge degrees, and Tobias isn't a Christian. The rumor seems to have begun when former band members sued him, lost the case, then accused the judge (a leader in Swedish Masonry) of unfairly favoring Tobias because he had become a Mason too. But there doesn't seem to be anything to that accusation.
I went to VOODOO Fest a few year, alot of years back actually. Haven't had one since the PANDEMIC/ LOCKDOWN. TOOL headlined, they were great. But I didn't know anything about GHOST, but they played on a stage to the right if TOOL'S before the BIG SHOW, I was impressed, I liked them, this song was their biggest hit at the time, they put on a great show and sounded great!!!
YESSS!!! Ghost is one of my favorite bands to have come out in the past decade. Don’t be thrown off by their look or satanic vibes. It’s all an act. They poking fun at organized religion and the church. They are super talented and multi-faceted and incorporate elements from the 60s, 70s and 80s. They sound nothing like what you would think they’d sound like by looking at them. Cirice, RATS, Mary on a Cross and Dance Macbre and Spillways should definitely be your next listens for a more poppy and catchy sound. If you want to hear older, darker and heavier Ghost, then Ritual, Elizabeth, Death Nell, Zombie Queen., Mummy Dust. You can’t go wrong with them!
Stacy Welcome to Ghost World, Swedish Gothic Metal band! You noticed band is a sarcastic act (parody) of Catholics. Band started out back in the 90's by lead singer Tobia Forge aka "Papa" His bandmates are known as unnamed "Ghouls" But few years ago, former members of Ghost sued Forge. Forge had to reveal his name plus former members revealed their names. Ghost has a lot of songs besides Square Hammer such as Ritual, Cirice, and He Is Cirice means "Church" in Old English
Theyre really addicting! Most of their songs are that catchy but yeah, this is one of their biggest hits. I can suggest He Is, Cirice, Call Me Little Sunshine, Rats and so on but my probably most favourite one is Respite On The Spitalfields - the closer of their latest EP. Its like a hard rock ballad and everytime I close my eyes and hear it it gets so intense. Fantastic piece of music! Wished more people reacted to this one.
Great first reaction! Liked and subbed. Welcome!! Ghost has sooooo much more to listen to.. They play a lot of different styles of music, and the band has a huge lore that takes more than a single commentary field to explain.. I'll mention some of it though.. The only permanent member of the band is Tobias Forge. All songs are written by him, or co-written with other contributors. For the studio recording sessions he uses different people than the ones who are contract based live musicians who he brings on tours. Tobias is a mastermind when creating music, and writing lyrics with double and even triple meaning. Behind the band (according to the lore), is the "Ministry of Ghost", controlled by a group called "The Clergy" who in the late 60:s early 70:s wanted to push the satanic message through rock music. The lore says they formed the band back then, and the band released a couple of songs namely "Kiss the Go Goat" and "Mary on a cross". After the debut, the response to the songs and message of the songs were not what The Clergy wanted, so the band lay dormant until they "reformed" (according to the lore) in Sweden in 2006. They "re-released" (again, according to the lore 🙂 ) these two songs on the "Seven inches of satanic panic" single in 2019, for their alleged 50'th anniversary. The bands first lead singer back in the day was Papa Nihil. For each album/tour cycle there has almost every time been a new lead singer of the band. To avoid a lengthy explanation about the rise and fall of the different, the first cycle ("Opus Eponymous" album) Papa Emeritus I was the singer.. For the second cycle ("Infestissumam" album) Papa Emeritus II was the singer.. Third cycle ("Meliora" album) Papa Emeritus III, fourth cycle ("Prequelle" album) Cardinal Copia, and latest cycle ("Impera" album) Papa Emeritus IV. All characters of course portrayed by Tobias Forge. All live session musicians are called "nameless ghouls", and even "nameless ghoulettes" as the current lineup includes 3 female musicians. In an interview, Tobias did estimate that somewhere around 15 different people have performed as ghouls all through the cycles. Enough of that .. I don't want to recite the whole lore.. There are a lot of ways you could continue this Ghost journey, just pick a choice.. If you want to check out some of their more heavy stuff, try: - "Faith" from the "Prequelle" album - "Cirice" (Grammy winner), "Mummy dust" or even "From the pinnacle to the pit" from the "Meliora" album - "Year Zero" from the "Infestissumam" album - "Call me little sunshine" (Grammy nominee) or "Hunter's moon" from the latest album "Impera"... More into the slow ones? Check out: - "He is" from the "Meliora" album, - The beautiful "Life eternal" from the "Prequelle" album - "Darkness at the heart of my love" from the "Impera" album. Feel like dancing? Do "Dance Macabre" from the "Prequelle" album. Wanna do some poppy stuff? Try "Spillways" from the "Impera" album. (That song is recorded in an old ABBA studio, and keys are played on a genuine ABBA piano)🙂 Then to totally throw you off of the "you think you have figured what Ghost is about"... I challenge you to listen to "Twenties" from the "Impera" album for some serious, serious metal reggeaton. Remember... if you have Ghost, you have everything. Until the next one! 😉🤘
If you're ever in the mood for "something", Ghost has you covered no matter the mood. Disco: Dance Macabre, classic metal: Cirice, 80s rock: Hunter's Moon or Spillways. Epic power ballad: Darkness at the Heart of my Love. Spooky gothic: Year Zero...
Nice vid!👍This is my take on this tune: The song is ironic and is about the hipocritic way people turn to God and swear that the belive in Jesus right at the end of their lifes. Here its the Devil they turn to ”when the bells begin to shime”. And the song is about how the Devil is sceptical towards the honesty of this persons will to follow him - since this person never reached out to him before. Ghost also uses terms used by the freemasons, like the square hammer, they question if ”your on the square?”- Are you honest?, ”Are you on the Level?” As in that they are all equal which is Freemasonry stuff🙏 Good shit😀
Hell yeah Stacy!!!!! You can't go wrong with Ghost. They have put out a few albums now, and maintained their sound with songs like this. I recommend Pinnacle to the Pit, Circle, Dance Macabre, Mary on a Cross, and He Is. You are absolutely right on the money with the play on re😊ligion. Ghosts' gimmick is they're😮a satanic band in
The lyrics are in reference to a Freemasonry ritual (square, level, nails in the coffin, etc.). It is not pro swearing allegiance to anything, it just alludes to said rites.
Awesome reaction, this song got me big time into Ghost. Been one of my fav bands since, and they’re great live too. Wore a Ghost shirt when I saw Nightwish in NY a couple of years ago, was up front, and the drummer gave me thumbs up.
This is a great song by a great group. A lot of their music takes me back to my childhood of the 80s. There are some great songs by Ghost: Rats, Cirice, KISS The Go-Goat, Danes Macabre. REMEMEBER PAPA EMERITUS LOVES US ALL!
That echo you hear in the beginning is called a "reverse gate". It's technically an echo going in reverse. This is why it sounds like it's creeping in on you.
Here's a Band with a unique vocalist, "Volbeat." Lots of great songs they're also very good live. Here are a few songs to start with, Seal the Deal, Shotgun Blues, Still Counting, etc...
I just discovered this band last year and they have become a staple in my music collection! You need to listen to "Mary on a Cross" next! The "Live in Tampa 2022" video is FANTASTIC!
You need to listen to some of the songs from Impera, amazing record. Also Life Eternal which is great. Also, as a suggestion, give Take me back to Eden from Sleep Token. Great song
Welcome to the Ghost fanbase! We hope you have a devilishly good time here! I’ve loved this band since 2017. They are so good and got me through some quite dark times. All hail Ghost!❤️😄👹 I currently have an action figure of the Ultimate Papa Emeritus I by Super7 in my personal collection, so you can tell I love this band! ☺️❤️

"Waiting for the Night" by Depeche Mode
"Jesus He Knows Me" by Genesis
"We Don't Need Another Hero" by Tina Turner
You have a goldmine of musical experiences with Ghost, so it's just to start dig into it! As a person who have listened to them since the beginning I almost envy you your journey of discovering them for the first time.
OG it used to be Here Comes The Sun (The Beatles)
“Dance Macabre” is awesome and the video has a Rocky Horror vibe
Welcome along! Thanks so much for reacting to Ghost! If you really liked this, then i'd strongly recommend reacting to "Dance Macabre" next, very much cut from the same cloth! A few people are mentioning "Cirice" which is also a great song but very intense so be ready for that!
Welcome to the Ghost fam! can't wait to see you react to more!
This was my first ghost song too, I was seeing Iron Maiden on thier Book of Souls tour in California. The openers were all local bands who... werent super great... but then Ghost came out as the main opener and I was instantly a fan. They put on a Fantastic show!
So happy you discovered Ghost. They don't get the application they deserve. They're all so talented.
Refreshing review, glad you enjoyed the song.Ghost has a unique sound and the band has a huge following.
I watch you for Pink Floyd reactions...I knew you would love Ghost...these are my 2 fav bands. There is an underlying emotion to the music
Try mary on a cross live in Tampa, Cirice, from the pinnacle to the pit, rats, faith, Respite on the spittalfields😊
Do Mary on a Cross live I concur !
There is this Indian Folk Metal band called Bloodywood. These dudes are insane and they have really powerful lyrics. They mix heavy metal and rap with traditional Indian instruments and they sound amazing.
Oooo no one has told me about them before! I’ll add them to the list!
I would start with Jee veerey
Bloodywood are amazing 🔥🔥🔥 And they have the biggest hearts.
@@StaceyRPGReactsCheck out Yaad first and watch the entire video. It shows the heart of the band. These guys are saints
The whole Impera album is a must listen, so reacting to any of those songs would be great. Love your videos!
Stacy
Welcome to Ghost World, Swedish Gothic Metal band!
Never heard them before ,but really like there sound
Every single Ghost song is an instant love. ♥️🤘🤘🤘
Most
Dance Macabre is a great song to listen to. It's very catchy and so hard to resist a sing along with.
If you want to check out some of their more heavy stuff, try:
- "Faith" from the "Prequelle" album
- "Cirice" (Grammy winner), "Mummy dust" or even "From the pinnacle to the pit" from the "Meliora" album
- "Year Zero" from the "Infestissumam" album
- "Call me little sunshine" (Grammy nominee) or "Hunter's moon" from the latest album "Impera"...
More into the slow ones? Check out:
- "He is" from the "Meliora" album,
- The beautiful "Life eternal" from the "Prequelle" album
- "Darkness at the heart of my love" from the "Impera" album.
Feel like dancing? Do "Dance Macabre" from the "Prequelle" album. Wanna do some poppy stuff? Try "Spillways" from the "Impera" album. (That song is recorded in an old ABBA studio, and keys are played on a genuine ABBA piano)🙂
Then to totally throw you off of the "you think you have figured what Ghost is about"...
Ghost is so awesome. So glad you found them. This was a great one to start with . Glad I found your channel. ✌️❤️🔥🤘
Ghosts' gimmick is they're😮a satanic band in
GHOST they soo cool !!! JESUS HE KNOWS ME cover , video its sooo soo amazing
Papa Emeritus/ Tobias Forge, the lead singer wore a DEMONIC POPE outfit, it was pretty cool 😎
Pick whatever you want for future reactions to them, but one of my personal favorite songs from the latest album is Spillways
The lyrics are in reference to a Freemasonry ritual (square, level, nails in the coffin, etc.). It is not pro swearing allegiance to anything, it just alludes to said rites.
"Year Zero" is from their earlier days and is such an underrated masterpiece within rock music.
You must hear Cirice by Ghost and watching the video drives it home
A reaction to "Ghost - He is" could be funny, trust me. :)
Please more Ghost reaction)))
rats and spillways are great songs
Ghost is so amazing along with Pink Floyd! I LOVE your reactions. I hope you dive deep into Ghost and Tool!
Welcome to my world. I am a fifty two year old and am obsessed with Ghost. Tobias Forge is adorable. I feel like a teenager all over again.
Here's a Band with a unique vocalist, "Volbeat." Lots of great songs they're also very good live. Here are a few songs to start with, Seal the Deal, Shotgun Blues, Still Counting, etc...
More Ghost please....
Great song
Yes! Another acolyte for the Beast With No Name. WONDERFUL!!!
Welcome to the Ghost fanbase! We hope you have a devilishly good time here! I’ve loved this band since 2017. They are so good and got me through some quite dark times. All hail Ghost!❤️😄👹
I currently have an action figure of the Ultimate Papa Emeritus I by Super7 in my personal collection, so you can tell I love this band! ☺️❤️
Well, this is a new rabbit hole for you to go down! Check out "Cirice", "He Is", "Dance Macabre", "Rats", "Call Me Little Sunshine", and their cover of Genesis' "Jesus He Knows Me". Watch the official music videos, they're helpful for showing all the different layers of meaning in their songs.
You should check out "Sleep Token, the Summoning."
Ok, i see you are on the square, you are on the level. Welcome to the family.
Ghost simply epic have fun learning more about them!!
Witch Image is an under-rated classic, give it a listen :). You have some sympathy and some taste! The devil and I approve.
You have to do more GHOST. They're so good. Cirice, Call me little Sunshine, and so many more.
Rats , life eternal , little sunshine....man they have so manny good songs..😂😂
Good Lord, are you in for a ride ❤
Dark, catchy and awesome songs to follow: call me little sunshine (latest album), faith (my fav album), rats, miasma (instrumental you won't forget)
Great taste you have there, lady !
Their live show is spectacular!! One song you need to check out by The Cure is Pictures of You. The most beautifully sad song you will ever hear.
You'll have a bunch of stuff to get through if you like Ghost. They have a LOT of great stuff.
great reaction. Me and my son both love this band and watching videos and shows of this band.
