I started with 5k and went up to 7K the week after. This made it easier to take it up to 10k. I started exploring my neighbourhood more and I’m at 21K after 3 weeks. It’s gotten easier to tackle everyday stresses because if I can walk for 2-3 hours in the morning and still be alive, I can literally do anything 😊
Summary: Divide your steps into 3 groups of 30 mins. You can spread them out throughout the day as per your convenience. 1st 30 mins session: The productivity Block. Try to get stuff done while walking. Eg, getting a walking pad and getting your steps in while checking your emails, taking meetings, etc. 2nd 30 mins session: The Errand Run. Plan your errands in a way where you can do them while walking. Going to get groceries, for instance. 3rd 30 mins session: The Night Cap. Get your steps at night, either before or after dinner. It's great for digestion, and a good way to catch up on your hobbies like listening to music, watching a movie, hanging out with friends, etc.
What’s crazy is that I JUST did my second walk yesterday & decided to take 10,000 steps seriously because I felt so good. Then I see this video! Definitely confirmation
As someone who does 10,000 steps for the whole year. My body has honestly changed mentally and physically. I’ve started making diet changes the more I keep walking. It’s helped me eat my fruit and vegetables throughout the day. So I would highly encourage people to start walking. Your body will thank you.
@@AmaAmponsah-sq9vx Monday thru Thursday. I took the weekends off for recovery, which included plenty of rest and fruits/protein to help with the occasional soreness that would happen. Start small say 7,000 steps a day, and then work your way up to 10,000. It helped me become consistent.
If you are at home, I would recommend to Dance throughout the day. You can get your steps like that and pretty fast, too. If you dance 1 song, is like 3-5 minutes and about 200 steps. That’s what I do. Nothing crazy, but move around. Hope this helps.
I accidentally started walking about during my daily prayers 😂, checked my fitness app on my phone only to discover I was so close to the my daily mark of 10k steps a day. That was how I started doing it.
Same. I do 45 minutes outdoors walking and praying in the morning. Gets me about 5,000 steps and a great way to start my day. Soooo good! My sunset walk in the evening, I listen to a podcast or audiobook and net about 3,000 steps.
I LOVE to read my kindle while walking on the treadmill or do homework while walking slowly- you get sucked into your work and don’t even realize you’ve been walking!
Just ordered my walking pad! Will be here WED. Then this vid! Confirmation. I used to walk 10k outside but moved neighborhoods and feel safer inside now. Lost 7 lbs in 30 days doing it AND eating like shit ❤ but working on the eating too now!
You are correct that 10,000 steps was a marketing tool. Research has shown that 8,000 steps will help change your body and improve your health (along with a good diet, of course), and you only need 5,000 steps to maintain your current health and body shape. Your advice is great to break it down in 3 30-minute sessions. Another secret is to break down some of the sessions into 10-minute walking sessions if you don’t have 3 30-minute blocks. It’s a quick walk during a work coffee break, or a walk session during a lunch break.
I walk about 34k a day as I walk to work and back. I haven’t seen any changes yet. Been doing it for a week now. Started and 70kg on Dec 25th now am 67kg. Prolly water weight. I will wait and see. Thanks for the encouragement ❤
I bought a Walking Pad from Amazon in April 2024, it has been a game changer for me in striving to get my 10K steps each day , I average around 9k steps per day . Im close to 70 years old. Thanx for the great info video ! God's continued best health to you always !
Great tips! One thing that helps me manage stress and move during a desk job is taking a couple 5min breaks to walk around the block-mid morning and mid afternoon
Bri, you inspired me with your 5am February challenge 2 years ago, and it changed everything for me! I'm now a 4:30am queen, and it's because of your challenge. I appreciate you and all you share.❤
5 miles is approximately 10,000 steps! I tricked myself into 10,000 steps aka 5 miles, by completing 2.5 in the morning before a meal and 2.5 in the evening after a meal! I just started, let’s see how this goes! Good luck on your journey ❤
Yay!! ❤🏃🏾♀️…..my favorite is to walk and talk on the phone. Luckily I live in an area where we have great trails, but when the weather sucks I will jump on the treadmill
EDIT: check pinned comment!! what do you all think of me starting a walking group chat?? Comment under this your thoughts! I’m thinking we can help keep each other motivated, connect with people in our areas, etc:)
I watch a ton of fitness and productivity videos, but this was a simple and unique suggestion to actually get movement in that I don’t think I’ve heard before! Great idea to break it up. Maybe I actually *can* squeeze in just 30 minutes before my commute. Thank you! 😊
Something I do to get more steps in is either watch a show, scroll on my phone, or play games while I walk. I go into work and the idea of working more when I get home is discouraging to me. But switching it (walking) from being paired with work to pairing it with fun is more motivating for me.
I learned today that working in a garden for 2 hours combined with grocery shopping for an hour are two activities that can help you get your 10k steps in a day. I’ve been wanting to purchase a walking pad, but I don’t have the space for it right now. I’ve been wanting to start sunset walks after dinner too. I’ll have to meal prep and bring dinner with me to the park though since there aren’t safe parks and walkable areas where I reside.
If you MUST watch TV, Pace during commercials. When you are waiting for the water to boil for your tea. Pace. I walk around our kitchen island for this. When cooking, If you normally are just standing there, Pace back and forth as you wait for things to cook. When the weather is tolerable, Go to a park and walk the walking paths. Vacuum, I know it is not the most FUN thing, But think of it as a more home-bound full-body workout. You get steps in, an arm workout, and a vacuumed floor in the process. There have been times after I have vacuumed the whole house that I KNOW why Grandmom was so thin.
This video popped up on my feed right on time! I appreciate this strategy and breakdown. 10,000 steps seemed so tedious to me. This breakdown makes it sound much more attainable. Also, you just got a new subscriber!
I need to walk more. It's easier for me than some people because I don't have a car. But it's also more difficult too because I'm blind, just moved, don't have any friends in the area, and I'm afraid to leave my apartment by myself. Working on it tho. Anyways, 75k club.
