For me drinking something warm (usually tea) with my meals and eating a little bit slower have helped a lot to not overeat! Trying to conquer that 80/20
the water with/after a meal is so beneficial. i do have a tendency to eat fast, and then feel like i need to eat more. but what i do is drink a cup of water and wait a minute...i always realize that i AM full. i also crave dessert after every meal, so what i do is have a smaller main meal to factor in some space for dessert. balance is key :)
I think it’s important to note that when listening to your hunger cues, for example, to stop eating when you’re full sometimes takes 20 minutes for your brain to register. So if you know you ate a lot but you feel hungry. Set a timer for 20 minutes & that’ll help you determine if you’re actually still hungry or not.
I took ozemp as an experiment to see what is was like and to see if it really shut off the food noise and it does ! I wish I could do that naturally 😭😭 I’m a stress eater, weekend celebration eater etc i think about dessert everyday and i eat for pleasure not fuel sigh . but i really want to tune in into intuitive eating .
You just described me. I have now realised that I'm addicted to junk food. I could be eating a meal and already thinking about my next. As soon as there is a party, I'm there(for the food mostly). When I eat out I always go for pasta and other carbs. When I do eat healthy, I feel the need for something sweet after. Thr struggle is real.
ALL these points are SOOO good and elements I already know, but I need to continue doing these positive tips. I've been eating til I'm STUFFED these past couple of days and I don't want to relapse in my B.E.D.
get a water bottle and teach yourself to carry it with you everywhere. having it constantly around is SO helpful in preventing you from being dehydrated and ‘hungry’
I bought containers that are already seperated into the portions Bria talked about for your plate. I meal prep them once a week and then I just have to heat them up or grab and go whenever I'm hungry. It's helped keep me from overthinking or grabbing what's easy instead of what will actually fuel me
Bria, I love the way you present so much! So many of the sentences you say, I’m able to internalize and replace the negative internal monologue, adopting those logical sentences like a mantra. Thank you for what you do!
Great Video! What helped me when I started eating without distractions, was journalling while eating. How does the food taste, smell, look, how do I feel, is it appealing etc.
Girl this video may have changed my life in a day😮 I’ve been trying to shed a bit of weight and the calorie deficit was making me obsess over food to the point where I ended up binging so bad 🥲 tried intuitive eating yesterday and I naturally ate less, and it’s literally the first time I’ve actually listened to my hunger cues which I thought would be soo hard - grateful for you❤
I love you girly, thanks for sharing this video❤️🥰I just started intermittent fasting roughly 3 months ago (16:8). The feeling of not being controlled by food every waking moment is liberating. In order to fuel my body throughout the day, I focus on eating healthy, whole, nutritious foods and staying hydrated. DASSIT 😂
whats worked for me my whole life is "one meal a day" (omad)and eat whatever you want(i prefer to feel light all day and then sleep with a full belly)... with the occasional 48-72hr fast to reset Also the story about being forced to eat so to not waste food is hilarious..no trauma here, i won that battle lol...id spend literal hours sitting and sleeping the table cause i wasnt eating..then if i was told to eat id warn everyone id get sick...which i did..and now i eat, when i want to eat, which is once a day with a 2-3 day fast once in awhile and i even tried bulking and eating 3-6 times a day cause even strangers and like coworkers had something to say uh nah, lol im just not gonna eat if im not hungry..and if you make me then chances are ill get sick and make you look dumb😂 Stats: 6'5, weight 185-225, perfect bmi range always and damn do i look good cause i rock skinny jeans and wear a size small, somehow but ill take it (macys, hollister etc)🤷♂️😂...health stats are perfect just need to cut the beer if i want to tone up and be perfect
What helps me with overeating is only eating when I feel hungry, being okay with rejecting food offers and not eating food I do not want to eat or not being obligated to finish my plate
i learned how hunger felt through waiting every morning until i got hungry and not eat straight away. I would go about 2, sometimes 3 hours being fine with drinking tea until I started to feel like I wanted to eat something. I think spending the time sipping on a hot beverage really distracts you from thinking about eating until you really feel like you want to
A few months ago I genuinely cried tears of joy when i got hunger pains. They actually felt good because I’ve had such a food addiction since middle school that i had barely ever went hungry. Ofc that is a blessing but I’ve been taking it for granted.
I intuitively today ate a sausage n egg mcmuffin with ketchup added AND a pack of 6 nuggets with bbq sauce because it's been a while and TBH, best purchase ever for a snack, yum
A couple days late but #75KClub! I've lost 60lbs over the course of 4 years, and while I'm not at my end point or "goal" (whatever that might look like), I want to stop the tracking and stop the worrying. I'm a good cook, and I cook healthy stuff; I just want to end the internal monologue and the noise. Thank you for this one! 🫶

The sentence that got me to stop cleaning the plate a few years ago was “it’s going to waste… either the waste basket or YOUR waist”
I love this because it is absolutely so true!!!
“it’s because your body loves you and wants you to be alive.. so like how can you even be mad at that” had me genuinely sobbing

Have you checked your glucose and insulin levels? I was like this up until I started getting my insulin resistance in check

@@marianavazquez2547 no I haven’t actually . I always thought it was a habit . I’ll look into that
@@Kayla-eh5fb YESS exactly !! I sometimes don’t eat food because I know I want to have sweets so I tried to reserve my calories for that 🫠
i don’t mean this with bad intent but i really hope you were taking that under medical guidance

these videos are really impactful. i usually don’t comment but i just had to let you know that what you’re doing is GENUINELY helping❤
