I just want to say "THANK YOU" Dr. Berry. You helped me change my life. You give me the tools to a proper human diet. I'm down 80lbs since February 2021 until now 10 11 2021.....I don't have count calories or work out....I've lost enough weight now I can walk and some Cardio....thank you so much...you saved my life
Amen. I have cardio vascular disease. The cardiologists blame 2 years of keto. My first heart attack was 7 years ago way before I’d heard of keto. Did keto and dropped 100 lbs , quit smoking , I’ve had 2 heart attacks since January. They blame keto.
@@trebor66n2 WOW, well done with the weight loss and lifestyle change . . . but sorry to hear about the heart attacks though. Have you found any insights into why you had them?
That's a Dr Berry gem right there: You can't be healthy at any size. But you can be making progress towards health at every size. And perfection is never the goal. Gosh that one sabotaged me so many times in the past.
As a recovering Bread-A-Holic, when I walk by all of the "packaged foods" that grocery stores place in the aisles to GRAB your attention so you buy impulsively, I just tell myself, "That's DEATH in a box". Makes my family laugh but my health is why I started this journey. I am worth NOT eating garbage to "feel" better but eating real food to LIVE better.
Oh, man...I was raised in a vegetarian household and very very rarely had a chance to eat meat. But oh, how I craved it! I was taught that eating meat was bad for me and morally wrong, and I was too full of guilt to let myself eat it until desperation drove me to do a 180, and now in my 40's, having been eating a carnivore diet for going on 4 years, I can say with certitude that mother does NOT always know best.
Started Thursday of last week. Glucose fasting was 239/just before second evening meal / reading was 164. This morning fasting was 155. Yesterday reading just before evening meal was 116. This two meal a day low carb program is working without absolutely no hunger or cravings after each meal. I'm so excited about this "way of life" .
I can tell you, this keto, carnivore or combo works so well. I fell off the wagon with Christmas last year until I realized I couldn’t get up off the floor without being in pain in my joints! It hurt like heck! I realized all the nasty carbs were creating inflammation and it was not pleasant! Made it easy to go back-and within the first week it was gone. I go up and down stairs like a pro! And I’m old!
Good for you! Keep it up! It gets easier each week that passes and then you think that it feels so natural to eat this way! The lbs melt away, you have more energy, you think more clearly. Best life changing decision I haVe made
stroke 53 now 54 going on 55 loss 321 pounds having to learn balance and walking again thanks for videos. hba1c was 10.2 now 4.8 all eating clean keto no more frankenstein foods
I'm sure you're already feeling lighter on your feet. Let that be another piece of motivation for you to continue through next week, and the following week, etc. Different health benefits come at different times for all of us, since we're all different. Your individual results will come as your body naturally heals from eating properly. If you wish to do some intermittent fasting as well, that would help things along also. However, it's not necessary, because if you eat three carnivore meals a day, you are already way ahead of the curve. If you find you can do two meals a day or one meal a day, that's fine too. Figuring all this out is a great way to learn about yourself and what your body needs to optimize its health. If you crave asparagus and salmon in a few days, eat it. If you crave chicken for a month, that's fine too. Some people only eat ground beef and drink water. Some people prefer bacon and eggs with black coffee. There is a wide variety of options and don't be afraid to try something a bit different. A few weeks ago I had sausage for 3 days straight and felt kind of crappy. Upon further review, it was the fennel seeds that made me feel awful. If you really like ribeye, but it's on the expensive side in your area, try chuck steak instead. Also, salt your food to taste and your body will thank you. Hope this helps👍
Dr Berry, I have been obese since I tore my ACL during a boxing match. I could no longer exercise and train due the pain. 15 years later I was 311 LBS and completely out of shape (well my shape was round). Your videos and carnivore diet tips have worked and change my life. I’m still overweight, but am down to 273LBS and my bloodwork is much improved. I no longer have back pains and my fatty liver has improved tremendously. Just wanted to say thanks I was so uneducated about the effects of a proper human diet! Thank you!!!
So spot on. I lost a bunch of weight once by climbing stairs on my lunch hour and riding a stationary bike at night and walking on the weekend. On a hike no one could stay with me, I would hike guys into the ground. But I eventually developed joint issues and when I stopped I gained my weight back. My buddies who couldn't keep up stayed thin. You cannot out run a fork.
I went blind in my left eye i may 2021 due to diabetes. Severe vision loss in right eye, retinopathy…(or which ever it is with bleed vessels). I am doing super low carb lifestyle since the problem and out if work, but as soon as im back earning, I will sub to your Paterson. My right eye vision went from “Wow he’s totally blind to now 20/40 with a foggy view. I’ve been your RUclips follower since May.
In middle of 2020, I lost right-eye center vision (macula) due to rapid growth of blood vessels. Happen within a 24 hour period. One month later, peripheral vision gone. After avoiding seed oils (and also being on a keto diet) for several weeks, I regained 20% of my peripheral vision. Now up to 30% but still foggy, not clear. Part of a keto diet is fasting. Fasting promotes autophagy. Autophagy is the orderly degradation and recycling of cellular components which will then be used to regenerate new, healthier cells. Also, fasting promotes the production of Human Growth Hormone (HGH) which helps grow new cells. Can my body replace the damage with new cells? I am hopful. I would expect something like that to take one or two years.
H i Dr. Berry: I have been also watching Dr. Berg and Dr. Hyman and you all seem to be on the same page. But what I want to say is that you have made this information on how to eat healthy simple enough for a child to understand it and I mean this as a huge complement. I am going to share this with my family for sure. Thank you so much for what you and your wife do.
@@GsGeorg Yes, and an incredibly great teacher to all of us toward attaining health no matter what age, I’m 76 and have reversed totally, high blood pressure, insulin resistance, prediabetes, Arthritis, obesity, hallelujah!
@@GsGeorg And Berg seems to be more interested in selling his many expensive packaged products. And he is also obsessed with eating 7 to 10 cups of green, leafy vegetables per day, which is nonsense. Those two reasons are why I don't follow him anymore. There are so many other sources out there that are not trying to sell products. Dr Nadir Ali, Dr Paul Mason, Dr Jason Fung, Dr Ben Bikman, Dr Rob Cywes, to name just a few.
@@GsGeorg I am going to reply to that comment just as I do to others that put Dr. Berry down on his. They both are making an incredible difference and are both nice guys. Neither cover the same material and both say to do your own research. Furthermore, both are classy men who don't care much for others putting down other professionals. You will never hear Dr. Berry speak ill of Dr. Berg and vice versa. Take care.
Berg started out as a chiropractor but has studied nutrition and related topics since then and is now qualified to teach those things. This isn't a socialist country yet, people are allowed to learn and grow here. When Doctor Berry recommends something, I sometimes find it beneficial to watch Dr. Berg's video on whatever it was that Doctor Berry recommended. Yes, Berg sells stuff but his videos always contain food based sources too and loads of information. When you ask directions to a place the important qualification is not their employment history but their ability to communicate to you how to get to your destination.
And those unhealthy foods are often marketed as healthy such as protein bars. Some of those (not all though) have so much sugar in them that they should be renamed "candy bar". The other one is cereal. I can't believe people think it's healthy when it tastes like sugar anyway.
@@suehowser3659 I used to eat those things, not sure what exactly prompted me to take a closer inspection of the ingredients but I was horrified when reality finally processed in my head.
I smoked cigarettes from the time I was 13 till I was 59. I have not smoked now for a year and a half. I have been trying to quit sugar For 3 months now. I have come to the decision that to me sugar is a lot more addictive the nicotine.
Make sure that you are getting enough salt. I cannot overstate how much your body needs salt. Read the book THE SALT FIX. I agree with you on the sugar. I have found that intermittent fasting is a great way to really get control of your cravings, and as a Christian I have found the practice helpful in other areas of my life.
Howbeit dealing with family, friends or co-workers, that is by far the hardest component of becoming healthier. Dealing with others and their reaction is exhausting, even though its your body not theirs.
I’m thinking my arteries aren’t good bc I spent 60 years eating SAD and 5 years as a diabetic. My diabetes is in remission, I can walk 5 miles now (could barely walk 1 mile last year). I’d rather die of a heart attack tomorrow than have kidney failure and get a leg amputated 5 years from now. I’m sticking to my keto lifestyle. And something really weird has happened to my skin. It looks bright and clear. I get comments from all my friends about how fabulous my skin is looking. I’m hoping that change is happening inside as well as outside.
Thank you for this video..... As someone who suffers from an eating disorder, this is truth. I have people in the "Recovery Realm" who push carbs so hard, and say it's how you heal by "Eating whatever your body thinks it needs." I am ADDICTED to CARBS! I can eat everything twice over, vomit, and do it again..... Carbs make it worse.
HOLY MOLEY!!! I have struggled in the Intuitive Eating way of eating community for 20 years!!! It wasn’t until keto that I finally found peace with food. The IE community will say you are dieting over and over. I say I’m finally free and they say nope, you’ve digressed into diet culture again. Oy Vey!!! I could kiss you for making this awesome video. Thanks!! 🙌🏻
I am a recovering carbaholic! Been carnivore for 9 months and have no cravings for bread, pasta and carbs in general. My bloodwork is the healthiest it’s been in years. 😊
@@fung8978 I do take electrolytes. I avoid dairy, but once in a while I have some sour cream. It took about two or three months for me to lose interest in breads and pasta. I stay away from cookies, but there are some good keto recipes on RUclips for transitioning.
This will help me...birthday/showers/weddings/church potlucks/holidays have been a stumbling block for me. I’m a carb addict who has tried to get into or stay in ketosis, so when I go to a function and succumb to crappy eating I feel like a real failure. Now, I’m going to give myself permission to enjoy the celebration and return to proper eating at next meal without feeling like I’ll never be successful. But right now I’m on your 30 day carnivore challenge.
I found you to be very gentle in this video which is exactly what the people involved in the IE (all foods are fine is part of their motto) community need.
Totally on point. Educating my clients on what you're talking about has been challenging due to old myths and beliefs. But we're making head way. Fitness marketing is geared towards keeping people fat. I've been in this profession for over 20 years and DIETING is big business. Thanks for sharing.
I think I need to watch this video daily for at least a year to reprogram my mind!!!! Many years of misinformation doesn't change overnight. THANKS for your help Doc!!!!
So that's why all I crave after my fasts are eggs and meat. I'm so sad that most diabetics and people living with insulin resistance still haven't realized if they took grains and wheat out of their diet, their health would significantly improve. Unfortunately, that's what most people crave. They become addicted to carbs.
@@keylanoslokj1806 I think it depends on the individual. My own experience is certain fruits can hinder weight loss. It depends on what kind and how often and how much they eat. If weight loss isn't a goal and weight management isn't a problem, it's a different story. The body type and overall health matters. Blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries have a lot of antioxidants but sweeter fruits have a higher glycemic index and those aren't as good for diabetics or people with insulin resistance. That's why people need individual meal plans tailored to their health conditions and needs. In my opinion, using the glycemic index complements other weight loss methods.
@@keylanoslokj1806 I'm sorry, I don't know in that situation. I have PCOS (insulin resistance) so I'm very prone to weight gain. That's why individual plans are needed. What is OK for one person might not be OK for another. What I do know for sure is simple carbs are bad for everyone.
@@keylanoslokj1806 From a diabetic perspective aim for low carb. Thats strawberry, blueberry , blackberry. Berries generally. Definitely no tropical fruits which are mega high sugar. Once sugar is overcome then maybe a grapefruit because it doesn't rekindle the sugar taste Try to choose fruits in season, not fruit covered in chemical preservatives .
Just celebrated my 1 year keto-versary. My body has never felt so nourished. I'm still losing weight and hit a new low today. Thanks for all the great information you help us understand.
Such a great video & only half way thru. Went carnivore 10 days ago & the miracles are just beginning. For example; I have had candida & black mold exposure; that I have struggles with since 2005. Antifungals, Probiotics, Pharm Medications; herbal medications ... if it was there; I did it. I also have done every diet, teas, herb out there; incl a very strict candida diet for TWO YEARS .. celery juicing; whole foods; no red meat for 10 YEARS; vegan, vegetarian ... the cravings never ended since 2005. 2 yrs in bed & a 60 pound weight gain; added more complexities. TODAY: the tongue candida is finally receding & I am feeling great! I have lost 10 pounds of water weight. I am expecting the hypothryoidism; ckd & diabetes to be reversed .... or much better for certain. THANK YOU DOC!! Appreciate you!
Oh the good doctor has shared so much with us. Inevitably we are going to slip up from time to time. Don't beat yourself up. Come back here and listen to your friend Dr ken. Excellent! I totally agree with your interpretation of the Intuitive Eating principles! As a person who is working to heal from autoimmune diseases, I most certainly cannot eat whatever I want whenever I want, just listening to my body tells me that. Great job Dr. Berry, I will be saving this video to refer back to or share 👍🙌
Yes, each time I try to intuitively eat, I get sick. And it’s not because I’m eating without hunger. It’s the food that I choose making me feel like absolute crap.
This video was so good it brought me to tears. So many years of what I call programmed eating - this was a breath of fresh of air and so so important. It was what i needed today,.
I felt the same way when I somehow fell upon Keto. I was an athlete where carbs were shoved down our throats as well as many other false narratives. I am very happy that you are now apart of the community. Take care.
DR BERRY is a breath of fresh air in a convoluted hypocritical health care environment. Moreover a living, breathing example of proper health self-care and proper human diet. With respect thank you.
SPOT ON! When I deviate from my optimal diet, my skin lets me know (itching). Sadly, my list of acceptable foods is far, far shorter than the list of foods to avoid, but the reward is feeling super, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Dr. Berry is the best! 🥰
What is your condition? It seems like a very diffuse/widespread one. I used to wonder why i reacted to so many foods before i released it was histamine intolerance.
@@alicia-hd2cs That's exactly what I think it is. I'm following a low-histamine diet now for about 2 weeks and it's only marginally better. I read it can take a long time for the body to clear itself so I'm trying to be patient. Just ordered some quercetin so maybe that will help. 🤷🏼♀️
What a great video. I just startet Keto 10 days ago and this is a great mindset to get on the way. I’ve dealt with BED most of my life and ate when i felt bad. This video is a savior, thank you.
Thank you for this, Dr. Berry! I fell hook, line, and sinker for intuitive eating last year and worked with an IE dietitian for over 6 months trying to figure it out and make “all foods fit”. I wish I had seen this video sooner, because my health definitely got worse since I started eating sugar and carbs again (no surprise). I’ve been so resistant to the idea of going back to keto, but I know I need to. Real food is where it’s at.
yeah i like the word "satiety" over "full" since "eating till you're full" can mean different things to different people. don't overeat, just eat till you're satisfied basically
This was definitely one of if not the best of a hundred I've seen of your Dr Berry's videos!! I love your videos and I'm grateful for all the information and sincere care in your videos.
Intuitive eating scares me because the thought that I could let myself go and eat until I was full just puts too much control in my hands. I'm prone to binge eating and I'm just not sure if I could do that. I'm still a calorie counter. I hope that one day I'll be able to eat how Dr. Berry recommends, though.
You could just track your protein grams to make sure that you are getting enough. I wouldn’t bother tracking fat or carbs, assuming you know which foods are high in carbs, and are therefore foods you want to avoid.
Aisha, by following the low carb, no processed foods mantra you can recognise those satiety feelings again and reclaim your health from the frankenfood peddlers. I've been carni for only 2 weeks and my portion size has diminished by half from when i started. I'm beginning to not want to eat even after a days work so I'm nearly ready to begin fasting.
If you have family around, let them in on your journey. This is a monumental life change. As long as you keep only real food in your pantry and a good support system, you will make it. I assure you. Take care.
TY for your compassionate care, it is very encouraging. The past year I had a heart attack and a stroke. I truly was eating and drinking my self to death. You are providing hope, ty for your guidance.
I have been living this way for almost 3 years and during that time I have been highly educated about my health thanks to Dr Ken and a hand full of others. I find it hard to talk to people about this (when they ask about how I became so healthy) because they throw so much misinformation at me from what they “hear”. I’ve been accused of having weight loss surgery because they say it’s impossible to live on 25 grams of carbs a day. They will criticize smokers while shoving honey buns in their face washing it down with coffee loaded with sugar and cream.
I have watched nearly all of your videos on your channel. This is, by far, one of the best ones you've made! Every single point you make is right on and can be applied to any variation of a proper human diet. Really phenomenal work on this one, bravo!
I eat maczdemia nuts for carbs. When I research a persistant craving highest nutrient, I look for other food scources of nutirntt...then choise healthiest.
This video is mind blowing! I'm sending links to all my friends. Since going keto, I look forward to, and enjoy the feeling of hunger. I don't prolong it, I just know that I'm alive and healthy.
I need to listen to this every day. At least in the evening when I binge eat. Sometimes I have a spoon of sour cream or more or I will whip up some heavy whipping cream, pork rinds. I know I’m not hungry I just have this craving actually bad habit. I was keto for two years and now carnivore since January. I love the clarity and no more pre-diabetes. Some days it’s easier than others. I hope to quit being down on myself for doing these things and make each day a day where I can overcome this. I love how this is changed my life and made it better - healthier, mental clarity, calmness in thought, amazing energy. Thank you DrBerry, for helping me find peace in my life!
Hi Dr Berry, Thank you for your heartfelt inspirations. I have yo-yo weight loss from 250 to 320. I never made it below 250? I have been on your advice for the past 6 months, and at 65, I have finally weight 220, and haven't weighed this since high school - 45 years ago. My goal is to become healthy and diabetic free! I have lowered my a1c to 6.3 and lowered insulin amount by 2/3 rds. My Endocrinologist is thrilled. My first Check-up with the Abbott Libre 2, my doctor was thrilled to see that I am 95 percent in my target level 😀 THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! I can't afford to join your patreon but I'm watching your posts!! Thanks for explaining EXERCISE always been nothing fun!

BINGO!!! Wow, this is amazing, true, heartfelt and delivered by a true professional... Thank you Dr Ken :O) Been doing Ketovore for about 3 months now and it's making a real difference. I have numerous health problems and decided I didn't want to add diabetes to the list. Intuitive eating works! Listen to your body, learn to speak and listen and it will tell you what it needs. Trust the process and learn to trust yourself x
I've eaten almost 3 pounds of food today. 3 pounds of meat and fat, all from animals. I've been eating this way for a little over 2 months, and despite what anyone says about butter, lard, bacon, beef, and all other carnivorous foods...eating this way has allowed my body to drop 30 lbs.....not only that, but my blood pressure is down, my joint pain is going away, and I feel 10 years younger. People around me ask me what I'm doing, and when I tell them, they are shocked that it's SO SIMPLE. This is literally the simplest diet, but it has had the most profound impact on my life of any "diet" I've ever tried. My wife looks at me and says I'm "withering away"....my response to that is...no....I'm becoming my optimal self. I've done starvation diets where I was actually withering away, but as a carnivore, I'm feeling the best I ever have, while also shedding unneeded weight. Thank you Dr. Berry for your wisdom, and encouragement. I truly think the best, most vigorous days of my life lay ahead of me, not in my past.
It shocked me how many people would express alarm when I was dropping the subcutaneous face fat. They'd mention how I looked thin, yeah that was the idea! But it seems like they associate the weight loss with illness.
I have to be honest, I did have to go on keto/low carb first to teach myself about cravings and how my body reacts to food to get to the point that I could intuitively eat. I appreciate that you clear explained the principles and subtly used some of the keto principles in your video to explain how to eat healthfully. Great content!
After a fall off of keto, I found myself tired, angry, stiff, up 30#, Labs all over everything...what in the world was I thinking...oh I wasn't thinking at all. I had eight family and friends pass over due to COVID and my ability to think, reason, and otherwise function went down into the pit. After a long talk to me in the mirror, I'm back on Keto, feeling better, mental health starting to rock again. I wish there were some sort of video you could do addressing severe stress and the importance of staying Keto during it and not self destructing. Perhaps some small encouragements this way would help many of us through not only this pandemic, but also the challenges of living. I love your channel Dr. Berry and I appreciate the time and effort it takes to create these. Many thanks.
Dr Ken, I'm eating more meat. I feel fantastic! On keto one year and my life has changed dramatically! Lost the weight, lost the depression and anxiety, dumped the anti-depressants, and my mood is up up up like all the time! Libido is back full force! Thank you. 👌✌🤘
Thank you, this was all wonderful, truly substantive advice and sensible, applicable food philosophy that many would not have otherwise thought about or recognized. As a person with a degree in English, I appreciate how carefully and judiciously you choose and parse your words. I agree with everything you said, and it may just be nitpicking or semantics but, for me, I might opt to say "eat until you're comfortably full or satiated" instead of "comfortably stuffed." I don't know about others, but to me the word "stuffed" has a connotation and feeling of discomfort. Like you've eaten too much. Great video and content, and all the best to you.
Than you, Dr. Berry. Been ketovore lifestyle going on 10 months. So good to be sugar free. Eating meat is so satisfying and simple. Not to need snacks omg. Thanks for all your help.
Another great video Dr Berry! I always look forward to your uploads😁. Intuitive eating probably works for those without a history of disordered eating and/or eating disorder. Wow, you described my journey on Keto. Went through sugar withdrawals on day 4. About 2-3 weeks in I could not believe how stuffed I felt after a meal. I had never felt that satisfied before. I see things like Ding Dongs, coca cola, potato chips, etc... as disgusting now and the poisons that they are. Excellent video!

Great video Dr Berry. All you shared is so true. We celebrate birthdays, friends and holidays with breaking bread but it's what we eat that counts. When there's disappointments we eat, tv shows & commercials falsely entice us to eat sugary things. They've overprocessed foods with additives and chemicals to not only increase our hunger but create addictions. Through the years with the addition of the politically inspired food pyramid we've increased our dietary intake of no nutrient foods leading us to eat less protein and more carbohydrates. You put that together with sugar snacks, breakfast foods, soft drinks we've come to the place where most of our population is overweight & unhealthy; thus the diabetes & disease explosion. I have been an emotional eater whether happy, sad or challenged. Pointing out there's a difference between cravings & hunger is huge. Thank you for another very educational video.
Dr. Berry, after watching the vast majority of your excellent; informative; life changing videos, I have to say that this one is one of the best if not the best. This one seems to philosophy that binds all your other video's together. Well Done....VERY Well Done!!!!

"Progress is the goal" EXACTLY!! And if best efforts yield no progress....but at least you are not going backwards? Dont beat up on yourself...just keep going. Sometimes progress happens so slowly its hard to see.
It is so nice not to crave anymore. Now when I am hungry (once or twice a day) I eat, I eat til I am satisfied, and then I am not hungry til the next day. I will never go back to sugar and carbs again. I am free. BP, BS and weight going down. YAY Dr. Berry!
Thank you Dr. Berry. Most of us adults need this information the reminder. We should all know this, but when you look around society, clearly half of us at least don’t follow an intuitive eating standard.

You can't be healthy at any size. But you can be making progress towards health at every size.
And perfection is never the goal. Gosh that one sabotaged me so many times in the past.
Good point. Aim for optimum nutrition, right? You can tweak macros and exercise later.

Yass. Death in a box. I shall try that.

@@bradjbourgeois73 that is hilarious!
Exactly! Thanks for sharing.
It's BS when anyone tells you not to eat healthy foods! Certain Proteins are essential to human health!
Your not evil either!
I'm the same as you, I'm in my 40s, my guilt is taking a while to get over, my body loves beef. I was raised to not eat meat, I was a weak child.
That was child abuse.
You can do it! Keep going
Good for you! Keep it up! It gets easier each week that passes and then you think that it feels so natural to eat this way! The lbs melt away, you have more energy, you think more clearly. Best life changing decision I haVe made
Woot woot! So glad for you Nicholas! Welcome to the tribe.
It will keep getting better! REALLY. Well done and God speed to you!
stroke 53 now 54 going on 55 loss 321 pounds having to learn balance and walking again thanks for videos. hba1c was 10.2 now 4.8 all eating clean keto no more frankenstein foods
This is exactly what I needed. Just started carnivore a week ago and am excited to learn as much as I can to heal my health.

Great comment-“you can’t outrun a fork”
I went blind in my left eye i may 2021 due to diabetes. Severe vision loss in right eye, retinopathy…(or which ever it is with bleed vessels). I am doing super low carb lifestyle since the problem and out if work, but as soon as im back earning, I will sub to your Paterson. My right eye vision went from “Wow he’s totally blind to now 20/40 with a foggy view. I’ve been your RUclips follower since May.
May I ask how old you are and why where you eat before...fast foods 7 days a week?!
Hang in there, and I hope you see more health improvements.
Keep up the good. work
Praying for you recovery matt
H i Dr. Berry: I have been also watching Dr. Berg and Dr. Hyman and you all seem to be on the same page. Hunger vs craving vs addiction-----totally a new look on hunger for me! Thank you. I am a carb and sugar addict so this was eye opening.
Modern humans lost intuitive eating because we are bombarded by ads of unhealthy foods🙄
It’s easy to blame others for bad personal choices. 🙄
I smoked cigarettes from the time I was 13 till I was 59. I have not smoked now for a year and a half. I have been trying to quit sugar
For 3 months now. I have come to the decision that to me sugar is a lot more addictive the nicotine.
As a 35 year smoker, that quit 17 years ago, I totally agree.
No one cares.
Totally agree, stopped smoking with relative ease, still have a daily sugar habit which is proving almost impossible to kick
I got off the sugar, but not nicotine yet! 😂
Howbeit dealing with family, friends or co-workers, that is by far the hardest component of becoming healthier. Dealing with others and their reaction is exhausting, even though its your body not theirs.

So that's why all I crave after my fasts are eggs and meat. I'm so sad that most diabetics and people living with insulin resistance still haven't realized if they took grains and wheat out of their diet, their health would significantly improve. Unfortunately, that's what most people crave. They become addicted to carbs.
What about a couple fruits in the day?

From a diabetic perspective aim for low carb.

Hello Stephanie 👋
Yes, each time I try to intuitively eat, I get sick. And it’s not because I’m eating without hunger. It’s the food that I choose making me feel like absolute crap.
This video was so good it brought me to tears. So many years of what I call programmed eating - this was a breath of fresh of air and so so important. It was what i needed today,.

Me too, you are Not alone!
yeah i like the word "satiety" over "full" since "eating till you're full" can mean different things to different people. don't overeat, just eat till you're satisfied basically
Countong CALORIES is a dead end street.
Listen to the video again.
If you have family around, let them in on your journey. This is a monumental life change. As long as you keep only real food in your pantry and a good support system, you will make it. I assure you. Take care.
I wonder how the originators of intuitive eating would react to this video. This explanation really needs to be added to the original material…..
Great video Doc. Sugar addiction is real. Struggling everyday.
Bacon Replacement Therapy can reduce the struggle.

To paraphrase J. D. Salinger, Breathtakingly levelheaded advice.
Thank you ! This was a thought provoking and gentle nudge for those to really think about a proper human diet !
Dr Ken, I'm eating more meat. I feel fantastic! On keto one year and my life has changed dramatically! Lost the weight, lost the depression and anxiety, dumped the anti-depressants, and my mood is up up up like all the time! Libido is back full force! Thank you. 👌✌🤘
That's my job John, thank you! Now you get to teach your friends and family!
Excellent presentation Dr.Berry. Useful & informative. Thank you!👍
Great video! Thank you! Sharing it with my brother and sister-in-law!
Than you, Dr. Berry. Been ketovore lifestyle going on 10 months. So good to be sugar free. Eating meat is so satisfying and simple. Not to need snacks omg. Thanks for all your help.
Excellent encouragement thank you!
Holy crap. That is the best thing I have ever heard anyone say.
Another great video Dr Berry! I always look forward to your uploads😁. Intuitive eating probably works for those without a history of disordered eating and/or eating disorder. As someone with a history of ED, I find that I can’t rely on my intuition as I don’t quite yet have an appreciation for my natural hunger/appetite cues😩
Me too. Have now been fasting for 4 days...I am thinking, that I am just on a high, because I haven't eaten :(
Intuitive eating is for people struggling with eating disorders, you don’t know what you’re saying
@@AnimalSmileFactory Operative word “PROBABLY”. Please read. Or better yet, share your experience if you think it would be of benefit to others rather than being dismissive. This is not the “I am right you are wrong” Olympics. Literally jog on.
@@azariahdarling you’re beautiful
You gave me wings Dr. Berry. And you gave me the key to a better quality of life for me, my family and my friends.I follow the Warrior diet and it is the best thing that happened for my body and my mind. You are so right. Thank you Sir.
"intuitive" eating is what got me into this situation, as did "obstinate" eating, and "emotional" eating, and "hormonal" eating. Thanks Doc. rationality and logic and science actually are the ways to go, and to EAT PROPERLY.
Wow, you described my journey on Keto. Went through sugar withdrawals on day 4. About 2-3 weeks in I could not believe how stuffed I felt after a meal. I had never felt that satisfied before. After over 3 years of no processed food, I think it made me naturally get to intuitive eating. I see things like Ding Dongs, coca cola, potato chips, etc... as disgusting now and the poisons that they are. Excellent video!
You know you want some Pringles.🤣🤣
@@jonogren5567 lmao! Not a chance!
Totally agree. After being on mostly carnivore for 1&1/2 years, I can trust my cravings because they are cravings for real food, not carbs.
I can't even do a cheat day with icecream. (Not that I need to as I make my own Keto one) but even if out and about for a special occasion, the next day not only do I crave sugar but am feeling horrible at the same time.
@@RockyTuxedoFBI Gosh, that almost sounds like a drug addict who's fallen off the wagon ! But ... it's just sugar, not some terrible addictive drug, right ? /s
I wish I could like this 1,000 times! One of my favorites of yours Dr!!! ❤️
What a great and informative segment. Thank you Dr Berry!!
Gems of wisdom! So well stated Doc. Thanks for all you do 👍
Thanks for all you do in your videos doc! Down slightly over 60pds since starting carnivore/keto on 9/1/21.
Dr. Berry, after watching the vast majority of your excellent; informative; life changing videos, I have to say that this one is one of the best if not the best. This one seems to philosophy that binds all your other video's together. Well Done....VERY Well Done!!!!
Dr Berry this is your very BEST video, it really resonated in many ways and gives hope THANKS 🙏🏼
I remember several of those "diets" that you talked about; and I was probably on a lot of them. This time, in the last couple of months, as I was once again going with Mark's Daily Apple, I also found you. I have enjoyed all of the videos that I have watched that you and your wife have put out. I have also gained a lot of great information. I am looking forward to the results that I get from following the proper human diet. I am leaning more towards Ketovore, however, I will continue to research and experiment, to see what works best for me. Thank you Dr. Ken. :)
Thank you Dr. Berry for addressing this topic. Best video in a while! 🎯
I'd love to see more on advanced topics like this in the future.

Preach it Brutha! Adding this video to all the other Keto videos from Dr. Berry, I find this to be incredibly helpful as a reminder or a revitalization of staying the course to a healthy lifestyle.
Thank you, Dr. Ken Berry. (Sorry for the thumbs downs on your video. Shows a lot of ignorance by those nay sayers)
Great video to help people develop healthy relationship with food! I wish they would teach this at school.
I hope that, as time goes on, we are able to continue finding sources of real human food. The possibility of losing choice has become a concern of mine. Especially lately.
Great video, very helpful, motivating!
It’s SO Sad when I’m checking out at the grocery store to see The stuff in others people’s carts.
Cart is full of garbage.
I always notice same, how are you doing today?
I love this video

"Progress is the goal"
EXACTLY!!
And if best efforts yield no progress....but at least you are not going backwards? Dont beat up on yourself...just keep going. Sometimes progress happens so slowly its hard to see.
Thank you for everything you do ❤️
It is so nice not to crave anymore.
Frankenfood thanks I'm going to use that word...excellent 👍👏🏼❤️ thanks dr.ken
