- This one is a bit more morbid. Disneyland is often called the happiest place on earth, but for some families that is far from the case. Join me today as I go through five different fatalities that occurred on Disney property.

I don’t even know how someone could unbuckle their seatbelt. Every time I put one on they become impossible to take off until the ride ends.
Maybe that’s new after so many idiots unbuckled them? I don’t know, I haven’t seen those old seatbelts. I am reading the Kingdom Keepers series, and the fourth book (I believe) takes place in Epcot. One character is on Test Track, and he is stuck in the ride even though he needs to get out.
But how do u know that they r impossible to take off?
@@calimc4520 the people who work at Disney check before the ride they try to take it off and its impossible
They’ve probably been redesigned because of instances like this
They used to just have a seatbelt when you went they had a lapbar that locked.
I hate the fact that people used to climb from car to car on the People Mover
FoxieRoxie365 it used to be a game teens played.teens did it more.
Does anyone know what year the PeopleMover cars got the steel bars that were intended to prevent people from climbing out? In the video it shows the cars with the bars installed, but I know the attraction did not have the bars when the attraction debuted in 1967.
At least they don't do it on the Monorail
FoxieRoxie365 honestly good that’s it’s gone it probably would of been a “challenge” and videotaped and put online like everything is now

My high school district is banned from going to Disney for grad night because of a whole bunch of reasons
TheToonPony That's understandable, teenagers are really obnoxius and take advantage of their power at grad night.
TheToonPony I feel bad for you, for my HS we either go to Universal or one of the Disney parks. I hope it's the latter
TheToonPony I didn't go to my grad night but from what I heard a lot of my friends that went were messed up on drugs

Oh man, I work as a carousel operator in my hometown, and it drives me nuts how many people are deliberately disrespectful of the rules (like remaining in their seat during the ride). It's like, I know that a carousel may not be the most potentially dangerous ride, but I'm not just making those rules up, or trying to ruin their good time. We just want to make sure people are safe!
@Hgyvtfygyhuh Ygihvutctvnininnin And you're ignorant. You see, it starts off small, running around on the carousel floor while it's moving..Next thing you know your standing up during a ride flying down a hill, anything can happen. Don't be a freak and run around while a ride is moving.
Hgyvtfygyhuh Ygihvutctvnininnin
Do you have a death wish? Don’t act like a dumbass while there is a ride, do you see how these people ended up?
People should respect workers more. There trying there hardest to keep everything safe, and then people don't follow the rules!

This isn’t funny, but some of these stories are stupid. Like who thinks it’s ok to stand up on a moving ride? People are just dumb sometimes.

(And left his wife disfigured.)
My dad is a retired Anaheim fire captain and responded to this call. He said that Disney employees were putting up barriers around the area to keep people from seeing what had happened and were actively sweeping up brain matter and cleaning blood from the walkway by the time they arrived. They had to instruct them to stop what they were doing because they were tampering with a crime scene.

The one that intrigues me the most is the story from 2016 when a 2 year old was killed by an alligator.
I was at Disney that day. It was not good. There were Helicopters flying overhead. I didn't know what was happening at first, but we were informed at the gate. The boats were shut down that day while they looked for the kid.

Thats- how- really?- wow.
I don’t like Disney land that much and haven’t gone there since I was 3 but THEY HAVE ALLIGATORS
Camille Reyes that was at Disney WORLD, not Disney Land.
Of course only a Disney nerd like me would already know every single death and incident in the park lol. I used to spend hours researching it and the ghost stories. It fascinates me cause DL is supposed to be all happy cheery 24/7 but these dark moments keep it intriguing!
You are not alone my friend.
Helps keep you grounded in a way. Just one more thing to make your remember that despite the marketing and the atmosphere, it's still a real place with real people.
Yes! When I was a kid I found Disneyland very creepy and unnerving. Not to say I didn't enjoy it but there is something dark and disturbing about how everything is fake.
Chris Disney r/imverysmart
The first time I ever visited Snopes.com I spent hours reading the Disneyland trivia and you better believe I read the list of people dying on Disney property.
Not so much Disneyland, but the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Walt Disney World has to be the scariest ride on the property. The fact of how technical the ride is, by moving forwards, backwards, in and out of shafts, etc., it's amazing that more occurrences of injuries/deaths don't occur on this attraction.
But you basically answered why yourself! It's so technologically advanced, it'd be really hard to get injured on the ride. Especially with all the sensors!
Very true!
Admitted, the one tim I rode the ride had a malfuction and jerked around and froze- they even said they were going to shut down the ride to check maintenance..right before they dropped.
I honest to god thought I was going to die 😂
There was one incident of a teenage girl having a stroke after riding it, but it could well have been partly due to a preexisting condition.
Many of these thrill rides have incidents of people dying of heart attacks while riding them, usually with some degree of preexisting heart disease.
@@princesspeasant4536 This is why I wait in the lobby.
I'm not really scared of theme park deaths anymore just because it's (mostly) people being stupid. Watch your seatbelts, don't stand up or try to move across trains. don't swim in disney goddamn it. The last death is also sort of her fault, she was working there, so she should have known the times. If it's not her fault, it was the people who taught the cast members fault for not going over the times when the wall moves.
To be fair, America Sings had just opened. Unlike the Carousel of Progress, America Sings was more of a dark ride; So the lights would dim after each act, and the audience would spin in the dark. Immediately after her death, not only were break-away walls added, but also guide-lights in the floor. Poor girl just took a misstep in the dark.
Talamasca007 actually it was due to her own stupidity, she was playing around trying to see how close she could get to the wall
Enterprize 1701 Any evidence?
It wasn’t her fault, she was doing her job and misjudged the distance.
Bendy & the band She was fooling around
*”Climbing from car to car”*- how do you expect someone to *climb* from car to car, not to mention, *on a ride* and not get hurt?
N.K. IKR
Imagine dying in a theme park and ended up being in a top 5 list
And this is why we have rules.
I used to laugh until I realized for every written rule, someone had done the opposite action result in injury or death.
@Kalibre_Kid You should have never let them catch you😉😁💙🌹
The big thunder death really scared me and I stopped riding it for a year when it happened. I was 8 years old when it happened and I would go to Disneyland about once a week and that ride was and still is my classic favourite ride. I must have ridden it hundreds of times and I think I had ridden it just about 4 days before the tragedy happened.
I find the more morbid side of Disneyland's history to be very fascinating. I'm sorry these people lost their lives, but it is very interesting.
I am a spiritual person and believe I can feel spirts. When ever I go to the haunted mansion my stomach always drops. I hate the haunted mansion and and bob slead too. my mom was in the ride line when the big thunder mountain death happened
i rememeber that thundermoutain one...the attraction was closed for a while after that..
3 is probably the worst, because imagine how the kid who lived feels. He must have so much guilt for sort of being the cause of his brother dying.
that one made me sad because i know that if i happened to be stuck in that situation, my brother would try to swim me across, too. any dumb kids would dream of staying after hours, but a situation like that can get scary really quick. i feel awful for the younger brother, too.
What I can't understand is why didn't they just walk. The water isn't very deep at all. Only around waist deep.
@@darrylbernard8885 I think it might be deeper than that considering that the other brother was able to doggy paddle, seemingly unable to touch the bottom. I know the trench isn't that deep (I saw the one at WDW when it was drained) but it's probably deeper than waist deep.
Noticing that these are older, makes me feel better. And MISSSIOON SPACE IS DANGEROUS!!
This is Disney World, but I remember going there in 3rd grade and my family and I were going over to Frontierland to ride Splash Mountain. We were told before entering the line that the ride was closed, and I don't remember if we were given an explanation or not, but we learned later that day a man had died by getting up from one of the log flumes and trying to get out. I'm always torn between heartbreak for the man's family and the other people who witnessed it, but it just goes to show that even if a ride is stopped, you don't get out of it unless you're at the loading bay.
I once could not find the seatbelt in my Matterhorn bob sled, the ride operators were tired but by the time I realized I was not going to find the seatbelt to say something they sent my car up the mountain. It was the scariest ride of my life. knowing someone else died that way has me shook.
What's ironic is that according to Snopes, there is a false urban legend that nobody is declared dead at the Disney parks.
Damn, now I'm depressed. Most of those deaths took place on my favorite attractions.
Great video nonetheless. Thank you.
can you imagine how the brother must have been feeling on the third one slowly watching his own brother drown and not being able to help him
the last time I was at Disney, the Orlando shooting happened days before we got there, and then our first night, a kid was pulled into one of the lakes by an alligator. It wasn’t Bay Lake but the other one between the big main hotels (contemporary, Polynesian, grand Floridian). It was so sad, the kid was only 4 or 5, and his parents tried to grab him but it all happened so fast. They had police on boats in the water and had trappers come in to find alligators and see if they could find any remains. The little boys body wasn’t recovered until a few days later when he was found by divers at the bottom of the lake. He wasn’t eaten, but definitely sustained injuries and drowned. It definitely put everyone on edge for the rest of the trip.

From all these, the one that actually shocks me the most is the Big Thunder Mountain one. Guest negligence is one thing, unavoidable really, but negligent park upkeep is just something that really seems out of place in a Disney park.
True story...sort of, some people have claimed to have heard Debra Stone in the Innoventions/Star Wars Launch Bay while others have claimed to have seen her. It is believed you can still hear her screams inside the building while some say she tries to warn people about the rotating walls. As far as i know, there hasn't been any physical proof to back up these claims, but we do know she died in the building.
Then again some say you can still see Walt's ghost in the park, walking around his dream home, but here again its hard to say.

What is kind of amazing is the crazy small ratio of people that have died. It you think about it. There have been hundreds of millions of people visiting there since it opened. This is an amusement park, with rollercoasters, and many moving attractions. It's so sad when people do die, but is so good that more people don't die, even though there are so many rides.

For a slight bit of context, the Matterhorn deaths happened in its earliest years of operation. During this time the Matterhorn was actually hollow and your tracks were up in the air like a more generic roller coaster in a pretty obvious looking show building. Falling out of the bobsled back then would have been considerably more dangerous from the height than it would be today. It was a few years later when the Matterhorn's inside got a total revamp and the bobsleds sped through the icy looking tunnels and caverns that they now have today.
The most dangerous ride is its a small world because going on it 10 times makes me feel sick
The Lone Drone also its reportedly haunted.
Virgil Matos Haunted Mansion is also reportedly haunted which I believe because I get an eerie feeling when I go there
Maybe that's why it's called "The Haunted Mansion." xD
The Lone Drone it's my favorite ride lol
(It's a Small World is said to be haunted because of a rumor of a child hanging themselves and the puppets and animatronics often turn on at night by themselves.
Pirates of the Carribean and the Haunted Mansion are common places for families to spread the ashes of their deceased loved ones.)
Thanks for all the videos I love you thanks 👍👍👍🤗🤗
Why I’m I watching this I’m going to Disney land tomorrow
i heard of stone's death way to much. though this video is very interesting, it showed what you should not do on a roller coaster and what you should not do when you stay passed park hours either by accident or on purpose.

I still remember hearing about the last death on your list. I was 7 or 8 and I was in Tomorrowland with my grandparents and eating a plate of flan...hey, I was pretty traumatized by hearing about that one...and my grandparents decided to start talking about what had happened, and I was so horrified that I started bawling and couldn't be calmed down.

"Death is not funny. Especially if you are survived by litigeous relatives." Otherwise, MTM Peanuts the Clown, and Cheers Zamboni death are classics.
I'm not sure if I would call it the most dangerous ride at Disneyland but, I always get nervous on Pirate's when the boats are being cranked back up at the end. What if they come off the tracks and slide/fall back? Jack Sparrow, saaaaaave meeeee!
HA I have that fear as well! Maybe we watched too much Final Destination lol.
Chris Disney I watched the one where they get killed on the roller coaster ;-; my mind is forever fucked up
Lol same, curse whoever made those films!
Never fear, they cannot slide backwards. That thumping sound from under the boat as you're climbing that lift hill? That's a ratchet that prevents any backwards movement. it's a standard fixture on almost all chain lifts; you can see how it works in this video about roller coaster safety mechanisms at about 4:30: ruclips.net/video/0JMlWMiObrw/видео.html
