Koenigsegg is a very interesting car company. They make everything in-house. No outsourced engines or gearboxes or light switches. Everything has to be perfect.
The first Koenigsegg Ghost engines were engine blocks bought from Ford. Specifically the 4.6 V8 (01-04 cobra) engines. The blocks were rated to stand high temps and up to 800hp. Koenigsegg tuned & bored the engines of course. They also took a gearbox from audi, and a rear end frame of a Ferrari. Everything else on the Ghost and all future vehicles definitely was in-house. (Teslas battery's are from Panasonic, motors are from Ford) Also side note, this 4.6 v8 is one of the most mass produced engines ever and used by atleast a dozen manufacturers. I also took a screenshot of a moon photo he corrected and I'm convinced that there is life closer than we think. I've also shown this photo to skeptics, friends/family, coworkers and I haven't heard anybody come up with a logical explanation as to what tf is in this photo

The first car was being tested at the Michelin test track in Laurens, SC. Interesting to hear that because my dad work for Michelin Security and worked at that facility for years until his retirement.

Jay has said on numerous occasions that the McLaren F1 is the greatest automobile of the 20th century. I've heard this same sentiment from other car collectors too so there might be something to it.
Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean), also owned a McLaren f1. He totaled it and the insurance bill to repair it was the highest insurance payout in Britain at the time. I think it was just over a million to fix it, but a couple of years later he sold it for over 12 million.
