8 years ago the wife and I worked for the Pittsburgh Parking Authority, and we saw a lot of te batman filming and got to see these beasts in action on our streets and from our garages. The wife actually was at the one garage where a tumbler was crashed into a false front. so glad I got to see this and have those memories.

Looks coolest from the back or rear quarter. I have a hard time visualizing R&B jumping in and out of that thing in any kind of a hurry. The thing reminds me of driving around in an U.S. Army M113 APC.

I love all the batmobiles, even the 2022 Batmobile. It looks like a mix of the mustang, challenger and charger in the new batmobile.
This is by far (in my opinion) the best Batmobile of all the Batmans with one downside, the massive blind spot right in the center of the front windshield.
I'll probably run over an entire car and won't even see it.

@@thechado7868 I expect they had to have the police involved as I doubt all the vehicles that appear on the show are street legal. This one was very much likely not street legal. So they likely got permission from the police to do the test drive.

Chevy engines are often built from the ground up, this is a ZZ3 crate engine from GM though so it does use certain off the shelf Gm parts.
It’s fairly common to use a sbc for movie cars because anyone car work on them and parts are everywhere
I'm currently building this Tumbler as the model kit from Hackett publishing. It's a really good build. I really can't wait to get it finished

I saw the documentary about the vehicle and the stunt driver who drove it actually had it over 100mph. He said that’s the fastest he’s ever done for a movie and he is one of the most prominent stunt drivers in Hollywood who Nolan chose for the film. Pretty awesome rig 😎🤘🏻

Someone here in Indianapolis owns the Batmobile from the Keaton films. I've seen it driving around I-465. Pretty incredible to see on the road.
My life goal is to drive that now! It may be loud but driving the tumbler down the road would be a dream come true.

8:40 could listen to the hum of that beast humming with contained ferocity. Put a giant a cam, headers, and tune the harmonic balancer (go big with a blown big block). The roar is primal! Beautiful beast.
To think everyone had one job and didnt have to jump around is stunning for having so many moving parts on making the vehicle.
Nolan was like: "we gotta make this realistic, so...we are going to build a full-on working black...TANK, that can, as well, jump over rooftops"
Gotta admire his movies man, and the dedication, planning and realization that goes into making every shot meaningful and believable.

I dunno about you but when Jay took that thing out on the road my smile got bigger and bigger.
the sound from this thing is wicked i remember hearing a few spitfires aeroplanes in Northamptonshire England in the 60s 70s and 80s as they flew around there were 3 or 4 about and you could tell from the sound about a mile or more away it was a spitfire straight away it was so distinct and wonderful to hear i often said to people that's a spitfire coming and they said how can you tell i used to say when you have heard one once you know its a spitfire
