    • @rcb3921
      @rcb3921 3 года назад +7

      I think RDJ probably had an excellent idea of how huge it could be -- LotR had already shown that a well-produced fantasy epic could draw huge and loyal mainstream audiences. jon favreau mentioned in an interview that RDJ was heavily invested in the character and script, frequently insisting on modifications and adjustments to make the story more credible and characters more believable - bending MCU's vision of Tony Stark into a role that meshed well with his own style and priorities. RDJ wasn't interested in being in movie for the nerds -- he wanted it to work for everyone, and most definitely knew that it could be a decade-spanning franchise.

      Lotr has a lot of physical props and uses cgi to enhance things, and still stands the test of time today fairly well. The hobbit, on the other hand, has a lot more cgi and doesn’t look as great, with many scenes being fairly ugly to rewatch. I still like the hobbit movies and lotr though.

    I kinda miss the days when the MCU films were under Paramount and Universal. Til this day Iron Man 1 is the best looking out of the franchise. The CGI and color grading just mixed so well. Not to mention that they were still using classic film reel. Which the film grain made them look very realistic. Nowadays everything looks digital and the colors are extremely washed. This 1 of the biggest problems I had with movies like Civil War. The CGI looks off in certain segments like Tony Stark when he has his helmet pulled down. And Spider-Man's CG suit looked faded.

      CHUD and Henenlotters Basket Case 1 are the perfect examples of early 80s New York "seediness". Just a filthy, disgusting city filled with harrlots and violence, especially in 82-87.

    This was the beginning of all my childhood days of reading comics coming to life. Seeing the guys behind it before they knew what a mega beast this first film would kick off made me tear up not gonna lie. Btw what a champ Robert D. was from the very start. You really can't hate that guy to this day. This vid popped up in my feed and it made my day. TY.
