Thank you for watching, Superfans! It was a thrill to see these locations AND bring a DeLorean back to Lone (Twin) Pine(s) mall. Please check out our other episodes!
Flight of the navigator was a cool movie.
This looks so cool but we're is the clock tower. Save the clock tower
Let's go back to 1985 and become younger again lol
How was there NOT a crowd of people watching the DeLorean drive around that parking lot. I know i'd be watching in awe.
Beyond the Backlot 😎
Back to the future, probably the best trilogy ever made.
Love. Thanks for watching!
Really nigga??
i never get tired of watching these movies, sometimes i wish time travel was real
DUDE ! I shed a tear when the DeLorean pulled up to the parking lot EPIC, man thanks a lot for doing this !
Thank you for watching! The experience was surreal. Glad you enjoyed it.
I played Back to the Future the other night for my kids who are 6 and 3 yrs old and they loved it! The look on their faces when Doc first backed the Delorean out of the van was the same one on mine when I first watched it as a kid. It seriously made me so happy just to watch them watch the movie. There is just something magical about this film, for me at least.
late reply, but my son watched it for the first time recently and he was just smiling throughout. just reminded me of how I felt in the 80s. :)
I am sure kids this age can comprehend a story about time traveling.
Great film I was 8 in 85. It was a great decade for movies
This vid is underappreciated.
We think so too ;) Please tell all of your friends. Thank you for watching!
@@BeyondtheBacklot I'll have to make some friends first...
I actually ended up here looking for BTTF assets (from your time lapse specifically) for a video I, myself am making. As one RUclipsr to another, quality pays off in the long run. Trends come and good, timeless content never goes out of style :)
Beyond the Backlot great job🎥
@@BeyondtheBacklot II love this so much. I wish I had seen it sooner. :)
I graduated at whittier high from 2015-2019
Yes! It was a pleasure visiting your alma mater for BTTF! Cheers!
Did you meet Marty Jr.? 😉
No? Well he was a lobo, ziphead anway.
Hey dude are you filipino?
@@reymarkd.2411 no but my name is phillip and I'm from Reno. Does that count?
Always loved walking past Whittier High on my way to Uptown (although I went to Pioneer High).
I used to hang out at Puente Hills Malls back in the early 80's before we moved in 1985. That was so cool to see a familiar place in a movie. My friends said they watched the filming
I just watched a couple of videos uploaded very recently of Puente Hills Mall. Very sad to see it is practically dead, with only a few stores still open. At least you have the good memories of hanging out there when things were good.
I hope to see a major revival of this mall in the future.
I'd like to see the bill and Ted's excellent adventure filming location I love that movie.
Love this idea. Thanks for watching!
lol - the dog is like, "Jesus Christ! I don't want to be disintegrated..."
HAHAHA!
Reliving the DeLorean scene at the parking lot in front of the Mall, and at night, must have been a once-in-a-lifetime experience. You sure are one of the luckiest man in the world and I will envy you for the rest of my life! Keep this videos up, please! Your videos always leave me craving for more...
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the video. Love seeing the areas were filmed of one of my favorites.
Thanks for watching!
You guys always do an epic job with your location scouting. The tree where Marty fell from has a block on the cement/sidewalk with BTTF etched on it. Hopefully you can capture that in a future BTTF location update. Love your content!
Where can we watch the finished version of this show?
I remember them filming at Whittier High School and all the 50’s cars in the parking lot. I had no idea they were filming!
That's awesome! Hope you enjoyed our video. Have a good one!
Thank you team of Beyond the Backlot for using our Futaba remote! It looked so good in this awesome episode!!
Coolest remote ever!!!
Keep up the great work! Still watching your Cobra Ki episode.
We appreciate the support! Hope you’re doing well.
Lived in Pasadena for 3 summers and nobody ever told me BTF was filmed there.
Yep! Thanks for joining us on the adventure through the area :) your backyard!
I can hardly wait to see you guys visit the DeathValley Star Wars Locations!
Love that idea! Thank you for watching :)
Beyond the Backlot that would be awesome 😎
This trilogy is my all time favorite. Huey Lewis and the News was my favorite band back in time in 1985. (I was a freshman in high school)
YES! Back in Time...Power of Love...ohhh, the soundtrack was just the best!
Their early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.
So many good memories of the film, thank you for these beautiful moments 👍👍👍
They had the Twin Pines Mall sign there in 2015 to celebrate the anniversary of the movie
I go to the 24 hr fitness in puente hills everyday and sometimes their will be people who come in DeLoreans and take pictures its cool to live so close to movie history
Awesome!!
Thanks for uploading this video. I have never been to California, but I hope to see it someday. This movie is my favorite of all time.
When you saw the McFly home you laughed like George McFly!
That was AMAZING! Keep it going, I'm a fan.
Thank you, sir! We'll keep it coming for fellow Superfans!
First was The Goonies now this video and now I subscribed. Thank you for bringing joy during these trying times.
It’s a joy for me too! Our crew and myself are like kids in a candy store!
Must be nostalgic going to those locations, just thinking about watching some of these classic 80s movies bring me back to the times growing up, can only imagine visiting the actual locations of the film. 👍👍 Must feel like you are actually part of movie!
Sometimes we compare it to going to an art museum and seeing a famous original. 😄
Fantastic-great job. I live in the UK and have f*** all chance of every visiting these sites. So thank you!
Thank you and cheers, UK! Thanks for stopping by. Please check out our other videos. More fun and adventure for you :)
I use to always go to the puente hills mall when I was a kid and I never knew they filmed my favorite scene of all time right in the parking lot. They still have the Twim Pines mall sign inside. The mall itself is a shelf of what it use to be and it's kinda depressing knowing that one of the most famous scenes of one of the most beloved movies was filmed there and a lot of people don't know it.
I love that this guy replies to pretty much everyones messages. Mate you have a great channel. I literally have just found it today and subscribed. Thank you so much for this great content. The goonies video really tugged at the heart strings I love that film so much. Hope you get a million subscribers.
Wow... We are humbled by your very kind words. Thank you for subscribing and watching! We will keep going 😁
brilliant , love the recreation at the end :)
Awesome! We also have a making of the recreation video. It’s a fun watch :)
These are epic! Can't wait for the next episode.
Thanks!!! More coming soon 😉
Keep doing this stuff guys! You have the edge on telling these stories. I was in LA last year. Found the Marty McFly house too. Man, you just stop and stare right? All the memories flood back. Awesome!
Thank you for watching!
This is astonishing, it’s unreal to see these locations
Thanks for watching!
I went to Whittier High, class of 09 baby!
Beyond the Backlot ☺️
@Bobby K because barely anyone actually gets to see them
THIS IS FANTASTIC!!! Thank you for posting. More please !!!! 🙏🙏❤️
Thanks! Check out our channel. More adventures await. :)
As a child of the 80s, these films _are_ my childhood, and seeing something like the Delorean driving up to the same iconic spot of pavement at the Mall...all the feels. I wonder if kids today have something similar? What will make a 10 year old kid today cry happy tears in the year 2055...?
You’ve tapped into the reason for this show. These movies mean so much to us and we believe, because they existed before on demand entertainment, these decades carried a unique influence on our generations.
My niece and nephews were born 2009 and 2012. They absolutely love the BTTF movies. This video will probably make them cry in 2055. lol.
"All the feels"
Cringe
Those times were magical and irrepressible, no trailers no heads up, it was just am awesome experience of an awesome movie
How do you only have 12,000 subscribers? When I was watching the video I honestly expected a million, the production value and quality in this is amazing
Thank you! We are working to build our audience every day. Please tell all of your friends :). Thanks for watching!
This should have a lot more views and likes!! So cool
Thanks for watching! Please tell all your friends 😁.
Somehow I’ve always known the mall looked familiar. Just couldn’t figure out what side of the mall it was. Nice to know the location is in our backyard. Thank you!!!

So cool! I wish you would have made a google map with the locations. I'd make a trip to California and visit all the spots. Back to the future is my favorite movie of all time!!
Thanks for watching!
This is a link to a cool site that has the map and addresses to the filming locations....

I did the exact same tour, but also went to Buffy Summers' house, which was actually just around the corner from Sunnydale High (Torrance High School). Also went to the "Charmed" Halliwell Manor (ran into a couple other fans also there for pictures), and then just down the street from that was the house used in Michael Jackson's "Thriller" music video -- couldn't get close, it was all fenced off and overgrown with shrubbery. Also went to the Nightmare on Elm Street house where the door is STILL painted bright red! Was extra awesome, because the super-nice owner had just returned with groceries for a BBQ while we were there and got chat him up. Thanked him for maintaining the iconic red door, which he really appreciated. I was surprised, because he said he doesn't run into a lot of Elm Street fans, and of the few he has, we were the first to thank him for doing such an awesome job maintaining that iconic horror movie house. It's still identical to the movie!
Anyway, so many cool houses and places to see and visit in L.A. Checked off a LOT of things on my bucket list. :D Next time I'm in the area, going to visit iconic Star Trek sites like the Gorn fight scene spot.
It’s just too much fun! Thanks for sharing
I’ve always been a big fan of location videos but yours are off the charts! You go above and beyond belief getting an actual Delorean on the parking lot! Wow! Even getting actors on the locations?! What? (i.e. Karate Kid) The production quality as well. Stellar! I’m binging all your vids! Thanks!
Thank you! We love what we do and simply want to share along side all us fans.
Just subscribed. I love this! Thanks! Been to the McFly house, and it’s really surreal being there.
It really is surreal. One of the best ways to experience our favorite films.
Just found your channel, and all I have to say is WOW! Your content is already insanely cool, but your editing and camera work is OFF THE CHARTS. That closing scene was phenomenal! Definitely got you a new sub!
Wow! Thank you for the kind words. We will keep working hard to bring you great content. Thanks for watching!
Awesome video. I really liked the part where the dog wouldn't cooperate. It took a lot of work for you guys to get the car and location. Great job.

@@martinainsworth9047 Love that idea!
So I was at the puente hills mall when I realized I stepped into the exact spot where the movie was filmed because I noticed the jc penny in the movie
That scene where Marty is seen walking through a field to the city was shot in Chino, CA.
In the shot where he smacks his head he had a wig on with padding on the back
That is awesome many thanks for making this
Thank YOU for watching!
Pretty sure he had some padding with a hair piece covering it.
We think so too 😉
Yea, if you watch the 2nd bounce u can see the back part of his head give a little. I only just noticed it when watching this video.
So glad I saw you in the Man + River video and came here to watch! Your videos are awesome! Keep them coming, especially the on location stuff :)

These "On Locations "are so awesome to watch you know ,these where movies when i was a teenager ,realy cool, i am a big Fan and know allot of "Nightmare on Elmsreet "maybe thats a cool Location to do and go back Mister Templeton and Beyond the Backlot. Greetings from Daan "the dutch freddy "v Ommeren
Hello, Dutch Freddy!
I lived with my uncle for about a year in West Covina CA in 1984 to 1985. I used to go to the Puente Hills mall all the time. When I saw the movie for the first time I had just moved to Oceanside CA. I saw that scene with Marty skating into the mall the same parking area I used to drive into I said "HEY!" kinda loud then whispered "That's Puente Hills Mall'! My friends looked at me like "Shhhh"!
Haha! So cool. Plenty of locations are in our backyards. Thanks for watching!
That sounds like Star Trek Online music in the background 😂 anyways....I've been to some of those locations too! Awesome video
Thank you for watching!
This channel is undersubscribed! Proper good 👍
0.55 I was right next to that road and saw it from a view on a hill at Prado Park that's right next to it without even realizing that until just now.😥
Thats part of what’s so crazy about film locations...sometimes you’re staring right at one and have no idea.

Great job, bro. I love your great attitude, "Totally" being into this movie. I've done the same thing. Marty's house, the Mall, & the Burger King!! I "Totally" loved it!!
Thank you! We “totally” love the feedback. 😁
I need to get back to the year 1985...
Back in Time! Huey Lewis and the News :)
Thanks for watching!
@@BeyondtheBacklot Fun Fact; It was padded carpet Marty hit his head on... not the pavement.
Yep! After obsessing over it, we checked. You can tell if you pause the scene.
@@BeyondtheBacklot Have you guys watched the "Back To The Future Predicted 9/11" videos? Legend has it Zemeckis was at Bohemian Grove and heard Bush and the NWO plotting it, and BTTF was his only way to cryptically warn the world. I don't normally believe in a lot of "conspiracy theory" stuff... but this is compelling.
Did a bird just piss right behind you at 1:52? LOL
Great video as well!
