Hi Rob & Chris, interesting one, what a shame somebody has attacked the boot with a lever, so unnecessary extra damage. Looking forward to this one’s progress guy’s.. Alex.
Lads - this is the best shot and edited video you've ever done. I've been watching a lot of older videos recently and the quality now compared to earlier is worlds apart. Not that the old ones were bad, but you're getting so much better at structuring and editing now. this series is gonna be a real winner for you. interesting car, interesting process and I think we all know that it's gonna be a big winner!!!!! Bravo lads.
Watching from Down under while I have my morning coffee at work, always cheers me up watching one of your Quality buys on a Monday. Looks like a tidy motor boys, going to be lovely when it all done.
we had a similar car with a bootlid issue, it cost 3k in parts at the end, the roof had come down on a hard suitcases + slightly bent every rod etc. the owner had broken the boot safety switch, so they jammed a lolly stick in to make the roof work... expensive things those lolly sticks... keep up the excellent work chaps
Nice find gents! What a PITA that boot is and can’t believe they tried to crow bar it! I wonder if the car thinks the rear deck panel is in the process of opening the roof, hence stopping the boot switch from releasing? Can’t wait for the next one!
Irish man here living in Poland but working in Ireland. (Electrician never very mechanical) love your channel . Watched every video and they are great to watch on the plane. Old time workers full of knowledge😃👍 Now I have started to service my vehicles in both countries , and newest purchase today Saab 9-3 estate I took out the front seats and swapped the bases over💪💪 no stopping me now. Thanks again Rob and Chris 👏👏👏
hello both, amazed that such a small electrical fault could stop this car from working!! The time and effort to get to the battery was a real challenge!! Good to see the progress, what a great result for you both. Best wishes from Lincolnshire
Makes me chuckle, you a get car clearly trashed where the rest of us are thinking omg walk away! And there you are " oh yes not as bad as it looks!"😂😂😂
I get the safety aspect of the pyro switch going if an accident happens but the downside is you are left with a vehicle that you can't even manoeuvre out of the way, put to the side of the road, or keep driving to get out of a (less likely) dangerous situation. It's another complexity on modern vehicles that I'm not fully convinced about.
Makes me laugh how I'm sat here looking at that car saying "No chance, no way, that's had it", then Chris calls it a nice bit of salvage and he's driving it round the yard 20 minutes later 🤣
Can’t believe someone tried to pry their way into the boot (I can’t even think of a good reason for doing that). I’ve got a feeling it’s gonna end up as a nice car in the end though
Another cracking purchase, Rob, well done. Great progress with the roofing between the containers, Chris, looking forward to seeing the update on that too!
Class job on how you men put wrecks back on the road to a detailed and high standard. Very good to see nothing wasted and you gave the car new potential.
Never in the Field of Car Repairs, Was so much owed by so Many to Just Two. Rob and Chris. Lol. Seriously Guys I am blown away by your get it done Attitude. Brilliant. Thumbs up again Guys. Ps, Ever Considered running for The Prime ministers job Rob.
Looks to be a nice car and what a bonus with the mileage! You are right Rob a late car like this can be driven all year round with no fear of leaks. I will look forward to the rebuild. This will make a nice car for someone. Thanks Rob and Chris for another great video. 👍👍
You two have a good set of eyes to look for details from the on-line photos to see if a vehicle is fixable by you. A hassle to get into the boot for the fuse but you finally got to it. Should be a nice bit of profit and a bargain for the customer.
Looks like a good one damage doesn't look to bad shame about the extra damage caused by copart or whoever tried to get in not very professional atal don't touch what you don't know about sorting off thing but you will get it sorted I'm sure
Ye another great video guys liking the bmw and that’s gonna make someone a very tidy car finished can’t wait to see it done great start already fellas!. 👍👍👍
Luvverly piece of kit, fellas. What a mission trying to get into the boot - thumbs up for your persistence and knowledge. Be great to see you get this one sorted and back on the road. Nice one!
Going to be interesting how you get that boot lid open. Looks like that front end might be an easy repair for Chris with the legs being missed in the accident. Could be a nice little earner.
Just like to say, Rob and christ, both of yous have good taste in salvage cars, Loving the BMW Convertible, Always wanted one of those Motor, Anyways, looking forward to this finish project, Well done, Your doing a Amazing Job and pumping out the great contents 👏😊👍
Definitely didn’t and that’s why in a crash at 70 you’d be dead in one, but you can crash this at 140 and survive (in some instances not into a brick wall ofc😂)
Wee bit o luck and a lot of skill. Up here we call someone who does that a chancer. Sometimes it works and sometimes it diznae. The boot is beginning to sound like an Angle Grinder job. Good luck with it. Later.Did i mention the ability to sniff out bits when necessary.? That's a skill right there. 👍
Can tell it's new or was a demo car, the protective plastic is still on the chrome OS door kick plate. If it thinks the roof isn't correctly closed it won't open.
Great video 📹 fellas you have had a bit of luck on getting this one 👍 I am sure you and Chris will get her back to showroom condition not looking forward to the parts bills 😕 stay lucky and healthy fellas looking forward to the next video 📹. On it 😊❤
You fall in a bucket of muck and come out smelling of engine oil well done to you both. This needs to be a top price sale to cover your illness rob Thanks for giving us your cold crack on be safe
Was just watching one of your old vids and autoplay took me into this one. Looking forward to the finished product and yes the number crunch.. But whatever the numbers I can't afford it.. Nice to dream though. Thanks guys
Numbers will be interesting. Thought the wind deflector looking forward to you stripping it down. Can't believe someone tried to open the boot with a bar.
@@sruk Ah yes I realise that but when I was looking into those BMWs the hand book says that there is a switch in the glove box to switch of the electric boot lock so it can’t be opened with the key fob to secure the boot. Great videos keep them coming.
One thing I love about this channel is the mystery into each vehicle and the little obstacles on the way
Hi Rob & Chris, interesting one, what a shame somebody has attacked the boot with a lever, so unnecessary extra damage. Looking forward to this one’s progress guy’s.. Alex.
Copart done a number on that boot. They have no respect for the cars. They do so much damage.
Every video, the copart cowboys try to do as much damage as they can. Their motto, leave no airbag un slashed.
They also hide as much as they can descriptions are vague as well
Good ole CONpart at its best
Probably trying to find treasure in the boot

Well done to you and Chris for getting it running hope the rest is just as easier

Your experience is showing. You no longer gamble , you take calculated risks , and they always pay off ! Well done guys !😊

Good evening Rob and Chris, very nice looking car with such low mileage. Thank you for taking the time to upload another video. Ged
Can’t believe someone tried to pry their way into the boot (I can’t even think of a good reason for doing that). I’ve got a feeling it’s gonna end up as a nice car in the end though

Good evening Rob & Chris. Nice seeing a sore bit of salvage on the channel 👍🏻 It’ll be a great fix keeping salvage rebuilds fresh 🤩
Going to be interesting how you get that boot lid open. Looks like that front end might be an easy repair for Chris with the legs being missed in the accident. Could be a nice little earner.

What a lovely motor, can’t wait to see it finished.
Can tell it's new or was a demo car, the protective plastic is still on the chrome OS door kick plate. If it thinks the roof isn't correctly closed it won't open.
Those boots are soft close, possibly why it says boot open ?
Great video 📹 fellas you have had a bit of luck on getting this one 👍 I am sure you and Chris will get her back to showroom condition not looking forward to the parts bills 😕 stay lucky and healthy fellas looking forward to the next video 📹. On it 😊❤

When you get an unknown car and make the big discovery to the main issue, it always nice to then see what the path to the finished car will be.
Was just watching one of your old vids and autoplay took me into this one. Looking forward to the finished product and yes the number crunch.. But whatever the numbers I can't afford it.. Nice to dream though. Thanks guys

There may be an isolation switch for the boot in the glove box to cut power to. It for security
Unfortunately it’s the Piro that’s cut power to everything 👍
@@sruk Ah yes I realise that but when I was looking into those BMWs the hand book says that there is a switch in the glove box to switch of the electric boot lock so it can’t be opened with the key fob to secure the boot. Great videos keep them coming.
Nice car, 3-years old and just under 9,000 miles
