You can also get your nails to look more glossy by holding your nails upside-down while your top coat is drying. That deposits most of the top coat on the apex of the nail which will leave your nails looking very shiny. This is a tip I learned with gel polish, but I have used it with regular polish also. 🙂🙃

Wouldn't using rubbing alcohol after the oil be counter productive? I'd think it would dry out your cuticles. If you're using gel top coat does it have to be cured?
I wish I could get my nails to look neat but I have pretty big and long nails (I'm rather fond of them. They look nice) but since short stubby and rounder nails are common in my country all the nailpolishes I find use thin brushes. It takes me like 3-4 brushes to cover the whole thing and 5-6 on my thumb

Another Pro tip is to use Seche Vite topcoat, I have never not had someone mistake my normal polish for gel when I have Seche Vite on

Yes it does have to be cured if you use a gel one
Not the miracle gel top coat..it says no uv. lamp needed. Check the bottle
