    8:30 pm What was your drying time for the float coat? Mine stays soft for so long (hours). It’s hard to not scuff them. Any recommendations?

      Olive and June makes a product called Dry Drops. It hydrated cuticles also. A bottle goes a long way.

    I've been doing nails for a long time and have been struggling with this forever. I never understood what people meant when they say to "float" the polish but you've explained it. Whenever I paint the second coat, I always get a dimple in the middle because I think my brush is pushing into the first layer of paint. Hopefully you can make more vids to break this down even more. I still don't get how you can fan the brush out without touch the nail.

    • @AmandaBellaa
      @AmandaBellaa  Год назад +7

      Thank you so much for watching & for the feedback! The brush may end up touching the nail a bit, but the goal is to glide it over so that it barely does. We can do some deep diving! Stay tuned :)

    Really would like to know, how to cap my nails, when my nails are short.
    Love watching your videos.
    Another question I would like to know,
    How do I get soft skin around my nails? They are very calloused around my nails, on both sides.

    • @joybird30
      @joybird30 Год назад +1

      I have problems with my fingers having small calluses near the nail too! Sometimes I trim it and try to use hand lotion every day

    • @AmandaBellaa
      @AmandaBellaa  Год назад +4

      Thanks so much for watching! Capping shorter nails can be tricky because the polish is more likely get onto the skin. Try using just the corner of the polish brush to lightly sweep across the tip. If polish still transfers to the skin, a good clean up brush and a little remover works wonders!
      Do you use a cuticle oil? Applying daily (morning, noon, and night) will completely transform that calloused, dry skin around the nails. Once your skin has been softened and repaired, it'll likely stay that way. I use (& probably abuse) cuticle oil and haven't had any issues with my cuticles or the skin around my nails for years! It's really the best. :)

    • @AmandaBellaa
      @AmandaBellaa  Год назад +4

      Ahh so frustrating. Try using a cuticle oil more often than a lotion. The oil is designed to target that problem area and will concentrate on rehydrating & repairing any damaged skin. Also try to avoid clipping if possible - sometimes it causes more damage/irritation. :(

  • @mrskaa7584

    I just had to float today lol, I'm now waiting for the increased drying time to be over. Darn neon colors, they can also get very streaky, and I made the mistake of not applying a white base, I do think that helps the coverage with certain colors. I still would have had to float the color anyway though, unless it streaked less on top of the white polish. Floated polish does look beautiful, no doubt, but it's definitely longer drying time, and for me anyway, a bit more nerve-wracking because it's so easy to smudge it. It can absolutely be worth the wait, I occasionally get asked if my polish is gel, and it's usually with a floated polish.

    As for request I would love to see more of nail care routine including hands.
    Also more nail supplies recommendations I absolutely love your walmart and dollar tree videos.
    Also it would be good something for people starting to take care of their nails like nail bitters or people with damaged nails from acrylic. Like all the simple steps and basic nails supplies to start
    Also more about filing different shapes on natural nails and how to get them even. I always struggle with this because I want them even but some nails are just smaller like in the pinky.
    Also would love to see all your nails tools and stuff and how you organize all of that.
    And when spring comes cute pedicure designs I mean like something simple but beautiful.
    I like to see more tips for growing and maintening long nails and also it would be cool if you documented your nails as they grow every week and then see like 1, 2 etc month growth
    Also I would like to see more simples designs maybe a video trying a stamper I mean simple stuff I know you don't really do that much of nail art. But like french with a twist, using glitter, dots, stuff like that.
    Love your videos thanks so much and happy new year Amanda💜

    Happy New Year Amanda! Great video yes this used to happen to me, my mistake was doing something like the floating but in the first coat.. always ended in a disaster. Most recently started doing the base coat, first layer, second layer then the top coat all thin layers, I leave it like that even if it is streaky or traslucent then the next day I apply a no that thin layer but also not exactly what you did here, only focusing on the top of my nail not edges not behind I try to make it quick then once is dry I apply top coat. It has work for me but I know is just more work but personally I don't mind also the third day I like to add another layer of top coat only to make it last more and then I'm set for wearing that manicure for as long as I want. Since I use regular polish this works wonders for me. But also I would definetely try this technique thanks for sharing.

    • @brookb5890

      It will still be pretty sheer! But you can use a base coat and then float with the polish. I usually don’t have a problem with sheer colors appearing streaky unless I’m layering them over another color, but you could try sponging it on instead if you don’t like the thickness of floating.

  • @Barbie8051

    It works... On thing I'd like to learn how to do is: On the sides of my nails the nail goes deep into the skin. This makes getting polish on each side is not easy to do.. I try to press the skin on the sides away from the nail so I can get polish way down on the sides...
    I googled this type of nail. It is called the C-Curve. The curve of your fingernail is determined by the shape of your matrix.

    • @AmandaBellaa
      @AmandaBellaa  Год назад

      Nail shapes can be so tricky! I have trouble on the sides too. Have you tried painting to the edge and going back with acetone and clean up brush to remove any overflow/excess and prefect the line?

    • @pieceaisa5046
      @pieceaisa5046 9 месяцев назад

      i heard you can put a hair clip on your finger pad like the part that isn’t the nail, and it’ll pull the sides away from the nail just enough for you to apply the polish without flooding
