    Love this video and learned making the piped from you. Thank you. One tip: to prevent the cord from fraying, before cutting, wrap a piece of tape around the cord about an 1/8th or 1/4 inch from the cord edge, then cut and the wrapped cored stays in place and it's much easier to match two taped ends. :)

    I take a lot of Craftsy classes. One class I took was making luxury pillows. The instructor had to make piping. I can’t believe the way she made the piping. Dana’s instruction was so much easier and more precise. Thank you for your lesson.

    I just want you to know how thankful I am for your videos. It's been at least 15 years since I've sewn and my Grandma was always making things. She passed away a few months ago, but had started on several hand sewn pillow panels and I just finished them with my own piping and all thanks to you! Now, I can give them to my family as precious memories!

    Thank you so much for your informative video. My daughter embroidered a beautiful piece and wanted it made into a pillow. I have never undertaken such a task, but with your help, I did it and it turned out gorgeous. I had a smaller piping just outside the embroidery, added another white border and a larger piping attached to the outside. All in all, fantastic! Thank you for posting!

      Nvula Rafaela . My heart skipped too, i don't know how people sew over pins and not feel uncomfortable with it. I never sew over them because i know plenty of people that have broken perfectly good needles by doing so.

    • @sunflowerlover9344
      @sunflowerlover9344 7 лет назад

      Savannah Perry I have heard a about flat pins, that are OK to sew over
      Maybe she was using those

    • @vanshellable
      @vanshellable 7 лет назад +7

      It is never okay to sew over pins! In most cases your needle won't hit the pin, but there are definitely exceptions, which will break the needle and/or throw the alignment of your machine off, requiring professional repair. In cases where you really need the pin to stay, I sew over it by moving the wheel carefully with my hand, NOT the foot pedal!
