What's cool about Leduc was his promo skills : the guy could talk. He scared the shit out of me as a younglin when i watched "la lutte internationale" on tv.😅

Joe Leduc teamed up with his brother Paul and they were a big draw as heels for quite some times back in the 70's in Montreal. They had a huge rivalry with the Vachon bros.
I saw a show on YoutTube from when LeDuc and Rougeau were doing their program in Fuller's Southeast territory. I was impressed with both guys. They both gave excellent promos and made you buy into the angle they were in. Jacques would be a very good heel later in his career, but I learned how good of a babyface he was early on.
I remember Leduc being a heel in Quebec and when he turned face, the place exploded and he became popular as this monster that "was on our side". Then he teamed with Dino Bravo against the Road Warriors. The Rodies gave him a brain buster on cement. Leduc was out for a time cause of it. When he returned, he turned heel on Bravo cause of the incident, saying it was his fault and he didn't verify if he was injured. But what he said made sense and people were cheering for Leduc in the feud. I don't know if it lasted long, it must not have cause Bravo would have looked foolish. But at this point Leduc became sort of the Road Warriors of Quebec meaning that someone so badass that you cannot help but to cheer for these type of guys.
@@EXPLISITemcee Yea it was "Lutte International" in the province of Quebec. Gino Brito owned it I think then sold it to Rick Martel. And then Martel sold it to Vince McMahon because he simply could not compete. But for my buck, it was better than the WWF. More realistic.
They don't make wrestlers like Joe LeDuc anymore. And after hearing the stories about him, perhaps that's for the best. ^^; Granted, seeing him whip the shit out of Kenny Olivier would've been worth the ticket price.
I would pay just about anything to see him whip the crap out of FAKE TOUGH GUY KENNY! Then after that Big LeDuc could end BALDING BUCK AND ROAD WARRIOR BUCK. GOD I WISH SOMEONE WOULD KICK THE LIVING YOU KNOW WHAT OUT OF MOST ALL THE NEW WRESTLERS. They couldnt survive back in the old days.
Absolutely. When I was a kid I was at an AWA show and saw some old lady, must have been in her 80's, come at Bobby Heenan with a butter knife and he slapped the taste right out of her mouth. Nobody batted an eye. t was pretty much standard fare for house shows in the 70's
CWA @ Evansville 1978/11/08 @ Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Coliseum in Evansville, Indiana Bill Dundee and Jerry Lawler vs. Joe Leduc and Don Fargo - winner unknown

One of the most credible and popular run across the province, a classic feud in the top ten. Escaping the church Sunday Mass to watch their weekly match promo, single or team at the country hotel bar TV on Sherbrooke wrestling show
In order to sell Joe LeDuc's Heel turn in Florida in 1979, they showed Memphis footage of him collecting a bounty on Jerry Lawler by throwing Lawler through a table. "Money! How does it feel to be in hospital, Lawler? I have never been in hospital in my life!"😂B.W.
Since LeDuc is accused of not tagging Dundee I'm guessing that means he was letting Bill take quite a beating. Forced partners maybe ? Or common enemies made them team but it was all a ride ?
I remember being really impressed with Jos Leduc . He was the only Lumberjack type that I found appealing . I loved Darsow for his size but his Man Mountain Darsow gimmick fell short of Jos Leduc .
LeDuc was an outstanding Baby Face in Florida until the Grahams turned him heel. In Florida, he started out as a tagteam with kayfabe brother Paul LeDuc. They were known as the Canadian Lumberjacks. Later, we would see a Lumberjack Match introduced.
I think that Leduc was a Baby in Minneapolis AWA where Vachon broke Leduc's arm and he had to wear a cast. I always wondered about Leduc vs Vachon in a shoot. Leduc is twice Vachon's size, but Vachon never lost a street fight.
Vachon wrestled for Canada as a middleweight in the 1948 Olympics. He finished 7th and the official Olympic records show he was screwed out of one of his matches. Legitimate wrestler and lethal non caring street fighter, not a combo you want to meet up with.
that's an old joke. can't remember the origin. I think someone told a version of that joke was made the first time Jesus began his career in public speaking.
Hum, sometime, i wonder if it's not the other way. Vachon was kinda short, while Leduc was really looking like he could rip a man appart. Leduc was a bigger version.

Leduc had a short babyface run against Dundee and Landel, around 85 or 86.
He teamed up with Jerry Lawler. When Joe came back this time, he had been getting in shape. He had some muscle this time around.
