Louisville Legend 💯 all that stuff is in his house that he’s lived in for 40 years. He still lives in a small neighborhood, and is a very nice guy. A friend put in his new HVAC unit.
He deserves it 100 percent...... I grew up watching him manage the midnight express ....he's a encyclopedia of wrestling knowledge and has a brilliant mind behind the scenes as well
Say what you will about his criticisms, but the man is a legend and you can't deny his passion and knowledge. His dislike for what wrestling has evolved into is obviously out of touch in terms of growing the business, and what is best for business, but I do love hearing him talk shop and history.
@meekrob Im bittersweet on his take on modern stuff. On one hand he does make a ton of great points, but I feel like his delivery of criticism just comes off jaded and bitter. It's like he is aaaaaalmost right but just keeps missing. But then again, he's old school and I would never ask him to mince words or shape his opinion to suit me lol.
Cornette is a living breathing thesaurus of wrestling knowlege. Everything he said about the eventual state of AEW since its inception came true. A real Nostradamus.
Yeah, everything he said... Except for how successful it is signing deals worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Corny is an out of touch nobody in wrestling world today.
Lets be real for a second. Jim is a great historian, that's for sure. But he predicted AEW would go under years before the new massive TV/streaming contract they just signed. He can still have vast knowledge of the sport while still being wrong about things.
If you think an “angle” is unique, that a “finish” is fresh and a “worker” is treading new boundaries….it’s all been done before! And most likely better! You’ve got to respect the history of this game, if not, you should probably get into something else!
Also I've always loved and respected Jim for his wrestling knowledge. A lot of people find him controversial and abrasive and the biggest asshole, but that's just passion and love for wrestling which he dedicated his whole career too. In my experience if you're that big of a jerk your ether the best at what you do, or unemployed.

The Quentin Tarantino of Pro-Wrestling.
Shakespeare
Rosanne
Difference is that Tarantino movies draw money lol
@@jaybarbieri8619 And? Cornette drew money as a manager and was able to run his own promotion. So what is your point?
@jaybarbieri8619 not sure if you're a troll or just a dumbass.
This is a literal wrestling museum.. Incredible!
Gotta respect Jim’s respect for the wrestling business this guy is a true wrestling historian
He only has respect for anything 1989 and above, tho.
@SamuelDuplessis12 you sound ridiculous. If anything it'd be 1989 and below 😂
That's the only thing I respect Cornette about.
If only corny would stick to wrestling only. He has trump derangement syndrome bad.
Agreed. I’m not a huge fan of the person at times, but mad respect to him and his knowledge.
We need a whole tv show about the origins of pro wrestling with Jim.!
My god he needs to write a new book or ten.
give jim his own wrestling history show already. i don’t always agree w his opinions but he’s a wealth of knowledge
Louisville Legend 💯 all that stuff is in his house that he’s lived in for 40 years. He still lives in a small neighborhood, and is a very nice guy. A friend put in his new HVAC unit.
Even when Jim was playing a heel, he just had something about him that was so relatable and familiar. It was hard to ever hate him lol
The whole mommas boy with a inheritance was genius. He was a snobby weasel with a mouthpiece who could sell a vampire blood
He needs to be put in charge of All(not wwe) Wrestling Hall Of Fame.
its crazy how this man isnt in the WWE HOF yet(not that I think he cares for it) but he definitely deserves it
He deserves it 100 percent...... I grew up watching him manage the midnight express ....he's a encyclopedia of wrestling knowledge and has a brilliant mind behind the scenes as well
Corny said he will only accept their offer if Midnight Express is inducted. Bobby is gone sp it has to be done posthumously.
@rajakghosh6602 the midnight express deserves it for sure
@@rajakghosh6602 it's insane that the Midnight Express didn't go in with the Rock n Roll Express.

God I hope we have him for another 20 years. He’s incredible and I listen to him nearly everyday. Truly a great great wrestling mind.

I can listen to Cornette talk about the old days for hours on end, but I have zero interest in his opinions regarding literally anything in 2024.
@@meekrobexactly, I’d love a book by him on the history of the business. That’s what he loves and it would be great to hear him go in depth on it.

Lmao he said they wouldn't last a year. He also said (along with Meltzer), they couldn't sell out a 10k seat arena.
Nostradumbass maybe.
You only needed to understand the business for predict the eventual state of AEW though 🤷🏽♂️

That quote about wrestling is great and still relevant all these years latter. If your a wrestling fan you need to read the book.
I love listening to him talk about wrestling, he knows all there is to know.
Cornett is a wrestling library of congress
Cornette's castle convention would be 💰
He has so much history

I have said it before, and I'll repeat it--I would gladly donate to Jim's favorite charity for a tour of the Vault.
Nobody alive knows more about wrestling than this guy
How pro wrestling evolved is so damn fascinating
Corny Documentary Netflix let’s go
I want him in the HOF just for the epic promo he would deliver. Do it before it's too late & he's too old & the mind is gone.
Hi, which episode of Dark Side is this from?
Brawl for all season 2 episode 4
Cornette is the greatest mind in wrestling.
Then switch to Vince Russo about how he got to be a writer of WWE
What book?
I was wondering the same thing. Sounds like something I'd buy...

Like him or not, once Jim is gone a huge piece of wrestling history will be lost
i love jim cornette but this comment is for vince russo: hey jim? are all those artifacts in your house, a museum, or a pawn shop?
A pawn shop draws money while a museum is stuff people legit don't care about.
If he wasn't so scared of taking accountability for his mouth then Jim could easily build a museum or make a show about the origins
Museums generate very little money yet cost a ton. Almost all of them are government funded.
When he's not spewing his political nonsense, Cornette is fascinating to listen to.
The problem is Jim's politics doesn't make any sense.
Jim is great it's just to bad he couldn't expand his mind more with the times.
He's the last of a dying breed.....
expand his mind to modern shitty internet wrestling???
What is "modern shitty internet wrestling" you mean modern wrestling in general
Too bad the trampoline cowboys can't learn from the past. Wrestlers have always been capable of doing what they do now, but they didn't. This man knows why, and he tried to warn them since the 90s.
@Ryder-uy7sm not all modern wrestling is bad, and even corny gives credit where due.
