It is Amazing, but how much of that stuff would you actually use? I travelled a lot ,way back then , in a very old, very basic, Defender. I was happy if it started and I wasn’t cold at night!
Incredible defender, perfect, not sure what I’m doing with mine yet, just bought it and has stood for a few years so lots of mechanical work first but if I could make it half as nice as that one I’d be a happy man
What a landy!! Right up my street!! Nene overland have one at the moment, BUT, seriously big ££££. Am a big fan of the landies, but being over 6 foot, I do find them a little short on space!!!
Great job fitting the AluCab roof abs fabricating the interior. How much does it weigh? That’s a massive amount t if added weight before you get to packing it for overlanding.
I never got to weigh it but not as heavy as you may think, the interior furniture is very light, and it handle okay. I did remove the bonnet spare wheel for all uk travel.
Hi, love the camper conversion! I have an identical rolling shell here that I am going to strip down, fit a 300tdi and respray before getting it rigged out for camping. Looks like I will need to be in touch with you regarding that aspect next year! In the meantime do you know the colour of this Defender as I would like to use it on my Landy? Many Thanks.
Hello Charles, not as heavy as you would imagine, the new roof weight is distributed across the whole, I used to have a roof tent and weight of that concentrated in one area was far more noticeable. Additionally in the back most of the load area is just empty space.
I will try not echo the other comments on how wonderful this built is! I was wondering if there are amy similar Defenders to the spec of yours thst are ready for sale . I would love to so a comversion but one ready to take myself and my two furry boys on advenures would be much better. This juat literally appeared on my feed ao i will look for your advenure videos now
Hi thanks for watching. I do have the defender in my recent video ‘sexy beast’ for sale in a few weeks doesn’t have a lifting roof but plenty of other features and things can be added to it such as water tank if required.
@@wright-adventure That's not bad! I'd love to get a hold of a Defender 110 or a RRC. I feel like there is so much character in LR 4x4's coming from a Toyota owner.
Awesome. Great build. I would have to say that the Isuzu 4BD1T was engine of choice for overloading, albeit they were only available from factory in Australia. Absolutely bullet-proof and heaps of torque from idle from the 3.9. How do you find the awning in terms of weight?
Hi, conversions are normally around weeks. the roof will take just a little less than a standard roof Defender but then who does that? > what you see on this one is about as much was you'd want to go.
@@wright-adventure Thanks for the info.. I plan to wind down work late 23/24 and get one of these..used to camp when a teen near the Himalayas and so on..but haven't done anything like that in decades. I was watching another video..is the Landrover superior to the Japanese one they keep talking about?
Landy's are great just as long as you replace the engine, gearbox, brakes, electrics, suspension and give it a ton of soundproofing. Oh and blast the chassis and galvanise it.
Sadly we are looking to sell. Many upgrades even on this incredible vehicle we have done - upgraded brake system including stainless steel braided pipes, tow bar with extender to carry bikes and all non spot lights upgraded to led plus so much more. But the game changer was the anti roll bars … Heavy duty to rear and OEM to front and the handling is incredible…Please message if interested !
@@wright-adventure Hi Errol - she is also now fitted with optimil hinges all round but looking at £70k - have spent a fortune on her - but runs like a dream now… Has got really easy to go out for a weekend also..
Also, has been maintained and serviced with upgrades by the guy who did the custom bull bar and winch mountings. Just fitted brand new sand colour Masai seat covers which are amazing and really transform the driving area..
@@wright-adventure The previous owner also spent a fortune with stainless exhaust etc and us since but really now is a go anywhere live anywhere truck. A grand machine !!

You should put a 100,000 amps EMP surge protector on it so it run during a nuclear war or a lighting strike. My house will have a 100,000 amp surge protector AND my land rover to.
I'm here to steal some ideas for my own Defender camper build, but I think I have to rob a bank first 😉 That Defender is awesome!!
Hahaha
A fantastic video, & honestly the old defenders are so much nicer looking then the new model.
It’s a really nice looking set up.
I've seen a lot of overlanding Defenders but I think this is the nicest one I've seen.
It is Amazing, but how much of that stuff would you actually use?

Awesome defender, can see a lot of time, effort, thought and money has been invested into this defender, amazing 👏
You said it right at the beginning of the video. That is the coolest expedition Defender I have ever seen. Sweet!
Defender is the best car for expeditions. This car is the key to your journey.
@G. Team a good choice !!!
Great video well presented that Defender is a must have for anyone in the market for an expedition Defender
You had my attention with the color, no wait, the spot lights, no wait, the awning, shit I loved the thing. Great job, thanks, RickGTI…..🇺🇸

Great build. The details and Overlanding styling just made this into a beast.
How many Defenders have you gone through inthe past couple years?
That’s a lot of kit. Two awnings?? Two lock boxes? How much does it weigh - over3 tons?
wow. exactly perfect video of the worlds! what 's the body color of defender? blue?
Errol Wright, 2:08 that smiley face sticker you got on top of your Land Rover snorkel, where did you get it from? I want one for mine.
Wish I knew! The previous owner put that on.
Absolutely amazing, thanks for the tour

Love this video!
Beautiful vehicle, our HT is built so similar.
Only the wheel on the hood, this I had tried once, but the visibility I found horrible.
took me a while to get used to the hood visibility, did 4 weeks in South America (another video on my channel) and ended up loving the view./
Absoluetly loved this video, is it possible to do the same roof top conversion on a 2001 disco 2?
Not seen one yet.
Mind blowing work 👍. Great skill 👌. Unique vehicle to have fun with.any were to venture out.
Take my money!!! Where do I sign? 😍
Awesome build, any ideas where to find decent side lockers which do not break the bank?
Agreed..Best Defender....out there....
Well done. Magnificent!!!
