    Great build. Elephant in the room. When Travelling abroad you will invariably and eventually have to purchase a carnet de passages, the cost of which is relative to the value of the vehicle, and with this vehicle it’s going to be eye watering!

    Me ha gustado mucho todo lo que has hecho en el defender. Además de quedar muy bien es muy práctico. Yo también tengo un defender 110 y mi intención es camperizarlo. Dices que ha sido ese tu trabajo durante 10 años. Que lastima que yo viva en Barcelona y tú tan lejos pero me ha parecido tan bueno tu trabajo que estaría encantado de que tú hicieras la transformación del mio. Creo que eres un gran profesional y además transmites mucho amor para tu trabajo. Gracias por los subtítulos en español.

    Great conversion, nice layout, plenty of storage, I've just noticed one flaw, the Icarus pop top can be opened from the outside, if I was designing this vehicle for overland travel that would be the first problem I'd tend to, otherwise a great build 🙂👍🚙

      Hi, Mark, that is the one issue that comes up the most. I’ve owned two Defenders now with the pop top and I’ve got used to it.thanks for watching.

    • @psnowakyt
      @psnowakyt Год назад +2

      @@wright-adventure It's not about "getting used to it", but about the safety. If anyone can open the roof from the outside, then getting in is just a matter of cutting the fabric. It can be done discreetly even in a crowded parking lot.

    • @wright-adventure
      @wright-adventure  Год назад

      @@psnowakyt it does have latches which accommodate padlocks which I use when away from vehicle, it would be easier to get in through a side door with land rover doors, the getting used to it was more referring to opening and closing externally especially when weather is bad, unfortunately the internal design at the moment doesn’t allow for it to be closed and locked from the inside.

      Hi, thanks for watching and getting in touch. The rear shelf was made in house then powder coated. Dead simple to make in all honesty only extra thing to get is the cable straps which I would order on line to the specific length required which you can find here: www.s3i.co.uk/wire-rope-sling-soft-eye.php

      @wright-adventure  8 месяцев назад

      Hi, I did, but I’m no longer making them. I’ve stopped doing conversions for the moment but they are not difficult to do, just need to approach a local fabricator, but they do not come cheap, about 5-600 now.

    Since you have fitted many pop up tents, my guess is you would know if it is possible to fit one to a 109 series 3.. Or if it is possible to retro fit one.? I am building a 109 Norwegian Exmil, now with a 3.5l rover V8, disk brakes. P38 servo. R380/lt230 box.. I would love to have a pop up tent.. Instead of the roof top tent i have at the moment.

      @@MathiasDavidsen hi, I’ve never fitted one to a 109 and I’ve not yet heard of anybody doing it. I would recommend plenty of measuring up of yours and a defender. To identify the difference .The front windscreen is the most important area as the alucab roof is sculptured around it.

    Errol did you remove the Icarus airline rail to fit that table? I want that table but I’m not sure it will clear that slot rail

    • @wright-adventure
      @wright-adventure  Год назад

      Hello Robert, the roof rack has the ‘tall’ legs and table comes with the brackets for it to attach to the underside of the rack and it clears the airline rails, if you only have the short legs it won’t work, you can just buy the tail legs separately if you need to.

      Ventilated to the outside, there a hole in the floor with a grill directly below the gas bottle, there’s room enough for two bottle as far as I remember? Gas detector is a portable one so can be put anywhere. Hope that helps.

    What map did you use when traveling in Mongolia this summer?

    • @wright-adventure
      @wright-adventure  Год назад +1

      Hi, initially I planned my route on Gaia maps, the basic map is free but you can subscribe to it for about £10 which gives you many more different style of maps and I really like it, but I did buy the Garmin mini satellite tracker which also has a mapping app. this map is okay, not overly detailed but for Mongolia that was not so much a problem as I just need direction, but the best bit is you can easily import your planned routes from Gaia maps and they work perfectly. you can also download the maps so they work off line which is exactly what I did as well, so I ended up having lots of bases covered.
