DEFENDER CAMPER BUILD 2.0 ● NEW AND IMPROVED
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 6 фев 2025
- It finally was time to rip out the old camper and start fresh. It was cramped and outdated, I wanted a design that was more useable and looked more inviting. The whole build was very enjoyable and I am pleased with the results. I hope you enjoy the film.

It doesn't matter how well you think out your camper, only after you live in it for a while do you realise what you actually need and how to organise things. Good to see the 2.0 version!
Thank you!

Thank you very much!

Almost certainly the only LR Defend 110 with a mahogany dado rail. Nice work.
I LOVE This!! Can’t wait to see Boris one day! X
Ayyyy thank you so much! You must! Maybe even borrow for a night!
This is not a camper , this is a one man Home 😊👍
So lovely including your Dad's bits in 🙏🙏🙏
Yeah I like that! Thank you buddy
Such a great video. You’ve done great and I’m borrowing plenty of ideas. Your Dad would’ve been proud!
Thanks so much! That's really kind of you.
Really class. Great to see it all come together. Nice to see someone turning a defender into a camper without breaking the bank too. Restoring a series 3 that’s been in the family since before I was born, so I appreciate the hard work and perseverance that goes into a build like this
Nice build ! Defender is my little dream, I hope that one day I m gonna build something like this for me and my son ! I m glad that I found your channel, thank you !
Thank you so much for commenting! Cheers :)

This is the best Defender conversation, I am 100% convinced Brother 🙏 This is a budget one, not that hihi which not all can afford, But the best better than those flashy ones, Very honest video
Beautiful work, Congratulations for the Defender conversion and you tiny garage.. Three things I think you have to do.. fit a fridge, instal a grey water tank underneath the sink (there is enough space inside the wheel arch) and install a diesel heater (I don’t know if you have installed yet). A great solution is the sliding window on the rear door!! Best wishes from Tuscany!!
Thanks for the tips!
@@BorisTheDefender where did you find the sliding window? Could you post the link? Thanks
Now it's BORIS THE DEFENDER 3.0!
I think you did an excellent job with the new camper build. There are some pretty nifty solutions! I thought about doing the same thing with a stainless steel salad bowl (I ended up buying a small sink) but awesome to see the idea works out just great! Might steal some other ideas for my own Defender Camper build 😉Cheers!
You make me to rethink the campering ideas.... Great job mate!!! Really I'm impressed. Unfortunately I need a camper for 4 people to live in so I can't have same as yours.
Yeah it’s a big consideration isn’t it!

Awesome!
How big/wide is the space between the couch and the kitchen cabinet (in cm or inches)? And is it sufficient or would you prefer wider?
I’m building my Landy for full time living, so wanna utilize the most, but still being able to walk (alucab ripoff top)
I’m not sure sorry
Great job and even more impressive that you're working with just two power tools. For the LED they sell aluminum extensions that the stops sit in and you can put a diffuser over it so it's not too much glare from the lighting elements
Thank you so much! And that’s a great idea

Great video, nice job. Not my cup of tea but immediately after watching I was staring into space eating a mince pie, thinking about my 109 and the overnight camp set up I’ve got that means I can use it as a shit wagon for the rest of the year. This entails building a swing away rear spare carrier. And the problem there is my number plate is offside and the tyre could just about obscure it. Thanks to to your vid I’ve now had a solution pop into my head. Have a numberplate and light which attaches to the spare when the spares outside when I’m using it as a camper ( like a bike carrier on the back of an estate should have) mounting problem solved, and your video started that mental ball rolling 👍happy Christmas!
Looks nice for a tight space and 100 % better than before now you need buy a diesel heater for winter months I like fall & winter camping over hot weather
You did a good video here. Nice to see the full process with enough detail to get a proper idea of what you di.
Nice!💎✨👌Yeah that thicker insulation is so much better!✨👍 This is the ultimate stealth camper car! #Defender👑
Cheers from Canada. I love this Defender, but you had me laughing when you spoke of cutting ply-sheeting with a jigsaw!!! Cheers mate!
Dude, just wow! The doors are a good touch, I did the same and haven’t regretted it, this vid is great!
Thanks so much!!
Mate….. you have done a spectacular job. I bet in a couple years you will rip it all out and refine it again …. Well done champ 👍🇦🇺🥃
Hahaha thank you mate!!
Boris!! Fantastico tu trabajo ! Is posible some measures of interiors ? Muchas gracias !!!
I've watched a lot of designs but this is the most practical and simple way of building. Great Idea
Congratulations Boris. Love the dark color vs wood. Very cozy. I only need a bigger porcelain sink. I Subscribed
Thanks for subscribing!! :)
素晴らしい仕上がりです。どんどん出来上がっていく様を見てるのも楽しめました。
ちょっとしたトラブルも楽しんでいる様子が良いです。ありがとうございます。
Thank you so much!!
Awesome 2.0 build! Happy Trails
Thanks! You too!
Fantastic job I love it you’ve gave me a few different ideas thanks for sharing top job
You’re welcome, cheers!
Awesome mate.
Thank you buddy!
Absolutely wonderful video! Love the defender, great work!!
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks so much!
Lovely - I am very impressed. I assume that you properly fused that wiring which goes behind the passenger side panel? Last thing you need is a short there and the wires catching fire. For the under counter lights - I'd have been tempted to put a reed switch on those so that the light comes on whenever you open the doors. A future improvement, maybe - and it'll free up the buttons for other things.
Thank you so much for inspiring me! I want to convert but too many choices and not sure which way to go! I love that water tank and pump set! I like that you did not make too many holes to secure things.
Wow! wow and wow! what an absolutely beautiful job! Thank you so much for sharing, I love this so much my absolute dream :)
You are so welcome! Thank you
Cleanest & usefull design i eves seen, love the details too, really good works dude ✌️
Thanks a ton! Tried to make it as usable as possible
Very very lovely build. Have nice journeys with Boris 👍😎🇩🇪
A great ‘warts and all’ production full of entertainment and ideas. Bravo mate! 👍🏻🙏🦘
Built, not bought!
Top effort cobber.
Cheers for sharing.
Love it, something similar will be my next job on the defender!
beautiful build. I wish I could try this in my ford expedition. thank you for such a lovely video.
Glad you liked it!
Having recently subscribed to your channel I'm really loving the content. I think that you've done an amazing job fitting the new layout. Sorry to hear about your father's passing but a nice touch to dedicate this to him. Looking forward to seeing you in future Vlogs.
Men don’t mind let’s talk more work
Wow... brilliant and a inspiration, Well done
Thank you! Cheers!
Great vid and a lovely tribute to your father, all the best
I haven't watched this build for more than ten minutes before because I want to use my defender as a five seater rather than a two seater. I am. glad I took the time to watch it all the way through because I learned a lot and you gave me ideas how to make my landy right for me rather than trying to duplicate someone else. Many thanks
great video as always Jack and I loved the little bits you added in tribute to your Dad and the picture at the end, im sure he would've loved it
Hi , thanks for making the video very entertaining I'd like to echo all the comments below.... Fantastic straightforward layout. Big thumbs up from me 😊. .... I was just wondering if some of that black bungie net type stuff would work well across the water bottle instead of 1 bungee strap??? 😜
That’s a really good idea. Thank you for the kind words!!
Looks incredible!
Thanks so much. Inspirational.
I learned something so special here.
You are so welcome! Cheers!
Well, that's what i call a nice Defender! :) Well done! 👌👍
Thank you so much!!
Thank you soo much, to look what you`ve done so perfectly. Very nice work ans excellent Filmer as well. Greeting from a german Camper Friend 👌
This was really fun to watch. I love going camping and this would be an amazing vehicle to go play in! I love how you used the space. It feels SO spacious for being such a small area. I feel so inspired. Thanks for sharing!!
Nice touch that kiwi sign ;-)
You know it! Haha I got that in wanaka
@@BorisTheDefender Wanaka... great place!!
Nice job, you certainly made the most of the space.
Absolutely mint mate! Great looking build! :)
Cheers!!!
Looks stunning Jack!!
Brilliant work Jacko!
Brilliant very well done
Thank you
Looks great! Nice job and thanks for sharing.
Superb job mate i would be well happy with that
Thank you buddy! Cheers
Because the LRD has a modular roof and side panels, I have always considered this to be a good basis to adapt to a high top or elevating roof, giving a low profile for driving and maximum internal living space for camping.
For maximum effect in keeping out water, Butyl Tape will more than likely be better than the OEM Seal Strip.
I like your presentation and narration and have subscribed to follow your build.
Very good result from day one!
Roof looks gorgeous, though I an surprised that you didn't insulate the floor, especially if that doubles as the sleeping area.
Very odd that your supplier shipped the insulation in two separate deliveries, and quite irritating for you I would imagine.
Day two sees nice improvements, and I particularly like your drawer access, radiused corners look really good in travel cabins, and yours look the business.
You started well and are continuing in that theme.
Its now looking really gorgeous!
You've got plenty of storage and when rained in, you've got a lovely interior to be in.
Do you recall where you got the hinges for the kitchen access hatches?
You've done a superb job on your LRD, and despite your self criticism I believe that you will inspire many viewers to consider doing a build out for themselves.
What you've done you've done well, and you should be proud of the finished result.
Nice job! Question: when completely stripped, you have those two "benches" down each side of the floor. Apart from the wheel arches, is there anything in there? Or is it empty space that could be used for additional storage? 👍
great vid man.. loving the island rovers cap. but i would being from Jersey.
Yeah Conrad is a good guy! 👍
Would extending the cabin rearward be viable? Like a porch, to take off boots, wet coats, then have a inner slide door to get to the camper.
Very Nice! Cheers from São Paulo, Brazil.
Thank you!!
Nice job!! It still has that all-important “home made” feel but is really plush - but with a bit more of a clean, airy feel. Nicely done!
Wow. Well done!!! Looks pretty cool and useful. Wish you lots of fun with Boris.
Brilliant video and build!
Thank you very much!! 😁😁
Great job, thank you for sharing
Thank you for watching!!! 👍
A great project and awesome results!
Thank you! Cheers for watching
What a fantastic build! i'll be using this as a template for myn, thanks mate!
Turned out well! Subscribed!
Awesome video! Has definitely inspired me to give this a go in the future!!
You should! Thanks for watching buddy!
Loved this what a great watch well done mate great build 👍
Awesome job! You got skills Boris!
Thank you very much!
You’re very welcome
Excellent work! Just about to start doing my 110 and you've given me some great ideas :-) Do you have a link for the water tank/tap? That looks like a perfect fit :-)
I’d like some info on the water tank/tap too!
Me 3!
Well done very cool 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
special thanks to the dumbells which offered help throughout the build process!
Excellent work! You should be very proud! That looks like a very welcoming and useful place to spend time. Sorry about your Dad. I’m sure he would have loved your accomplishments here!
I love the rig. Looks awesome.
Very nice. I like the blinds instead of curtains. Also. You have a rear door sliding window. If you can rig a 12v fan to that, you could get great ventilation with the. Cracking of the front Windows.
P.S.
The front compartment by the Jackery were to had to notch out for the electric panel, that would make a great emergency toilet compartment.....
Looks great that mate. You’ve done a good job on it. Enjoyed watching the video 👍👍
Love what you guys do to these Land Rovers. Excellent work.
Really loving this video. I'm looking at switching from a van to a defender and I'm gathering up as much info as I can and I'm loving your channel.
I'm toying with the roller shutter side defenders as there's a few of those on the market, but not really sure.
You're not too far from me, I'm south west Devon, I note the trago bag😂 Always a bargain to be had!
Great Video!
Thank you buddy
Really nice, practical, real-world build with lots of good ideas.
Also, good on ya for making this one single video rather than a "series" of mini-videos.
Great build and result. :)
Aménagement réussi 😉 le résultat est vraiment au top!
Merci beaucoup 😋
That is an amazing job you have done there, I going to do mine slightly different to yours, seen so many camper builds but this by far is the sort of thing im wanting to do, Im a wildlife photographer and make videos, so all my camera and lighting equipment will have to go aboard as well, but some great ideas there Thank you and will follow you to see how things are going. & yes i am a drag Queen too so all my Girlie stuff too Ha ha I need a bigger truck
I love your video's! Techno-cultural-recreational video's!
Glad you like them! Haha
Great video, thanks for taking the time to put it together. Just wondered how much, if any, consideration do you have to give to the weight you are adding? Thanks.
Well done!
Looks amazing. I will keep a look out for it at billing.
Great guy, you gave me ideas for my conversion to come. Tks mate. Subscribed
Thanks for watching!! Cheers
Fantastic job! Love it mate.
Excellent I love it😊
Job well done,Sir.I like the professional conversions same as the van conversions but there is something better about a self conversion which for some reason just makes it better.
Great finished product mate 👌👌
Great video and great job. Inspiration for my next car, Mrs cars on camera really liked the idea!
Incredible mate!
