My girlfriend showed to this me...it was one of her favorite movies. I believe she knew the comics. I was really lost, not knowing if it would be anything more than special effects. I loved it.
This was like Star Wars meets Marvel and it was glorious
I just wish they dont mix this with the other marvel shit and overuse heroes.. I want more of this. I remember at X time on the movie I felt my heart shiver because this felt exactly like I felt when I watch Star Wars New Hope when I was kid with 9 years old. For me I hope they continue to go towards more sci fi and build more team relationships.
Well they are going to team up with the Avenger to fight thanos, and I think it needs to be done. But considering the Gaurdians' stories take place in space, I doubt they will be mixing often.

Cosmic adventures were always part of Marvel since Fantastic Four vol 1 issue 1 (1961) when Star Wars was a cheap sword and sorcery story (without spaceships) in young George Lucas's mind.

This was the first marvel movie that I saw trailers for that I thought Yep this will be the first flop. Could’ve been more wrong best trilogy. It’s beautiful how the trilogy begins right before Disney bought Paramount. The last nonpolitical project. What a beautiful trilogy that began in the infinity saga and ended in phase 5

I honestly think Captain America The Winter Soldier is the best Marvel movie. Guardians of The Galaxy is #2
The fact that marvel was able to make one of their best movies out of a comic no one read and dc can't make a good movie about the most popular super hero, superman, jut goes to show who the better of the two companies is.

The problem with DC is that they always seem to be uncertain about whether they wanna make dark/serious movies or cheesy/fun movies. Just look at the difference beween first Suicide Squad trailer and the last one.
Great things about this movie
1: Action speaks for itself
2: CGI, HOLY SHT amazing!
3: Soundtrack, never heard most of the song but this movie introduces ppl like me to the classics
4: Attempt to build your care for the characters, which it does AMAZINGLY you will care for all of them in the end
5: Parts with emotional depth is executed perfectly
6: Story is pretty cliché, but somehow it works! That how great this movie is
7: Somehow makes this team one of the best super hero teams there is even though barely anyone know who they are beforehand
8: I am Groot
9: Thanos is quite menacing

The First Avenger wasn't 'horrible', it was a good movie, but it was very slow paced and had to set up the foundation of the entire future MCU.

Kevin The Batman Of Barça Fans™ Well...Tony Stark actually joins the Guardians of the Galaxy in the comics, because he did some crap on Earth and needed to get away from Earth for a while. And Rocket was introducing Stark to a whole new level of tech not seen on Earth. Stark's interactions with the whole Guardians team was pretty cool!
Plus, based on how the movies are shaping up, it's looking like the Guardians will be helping the Avengers to take out Thanos in the the third Avengers movie.

Fast forward to today, Exclusive Avengers Infinity War footage showed Iron Man with Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and the Guardians fighting Thanos (whose beating their shit in), THIS WILL BE THE MOST EPIC EVENT IN THE HISTORY OF SUPERHERO MOVIES. 10 years brought us to this point

If you want more mythical superheroes, more street level superheroes, a super villain movie, marvel-verse event movies, superhero versus superhero movies, you MUST support movies like this!
This is the turning point for comicverse to go truly Hollywood. If this movie fails, then studios will scale it back to only major superheroes in the future. This is where things end or begin.

Honestly - I think they're holding back a lot with these trailers. Which is a good thing! I have a feeling this movie is gonna kick major ass.

I think this is legitimately the most interesting film this year. It has A-list actors like Zoe Saldana, Glenn Close, John C. Riley with Bradley Cooper voicing Rocket Raccoon and Vin Diesel voicing Groot.
Then we got the wrestler-turned actor, Dave Bautista, along with rising stars like Lee Pace and Chris Pratt.
Mix this all together with the fact that it's a Marvel Studios production and we got something real special here.
My hopes are high for this one. The Guardians of the Galaxy really are great characters and it's about time they had a spotlight.
So far, all the characterizations looks spot-on and Chris Pratt already has me sold as Starlord.
I have a very good feeling about this one, you might even say I'm hooked on a feeling...

Vin honestly has the perfect voice for Groot. I have a feeling that he's gonna deliver the biggest "I am Groot" line of all time. People have tried to deliver that line epicly before, but it never worked. Vin is gonna make this line his bitch. I'm so looking forward to this.

Well actually, there's a couple comic crossovers for dc and marvel. One of my favs was JLA/Avengers (I think that was the name). Look it up, give it a read. You get to see some good fights, and even Superman using Cap'ts shield :D

James Gunn has addressed if the guardians of the galaxy volume 3 will set up Kang’s future multiverse storyline in the MCU: volume 3 is about ending the story of the guardians, not setting up something else.

I found it a bit ironic that I knew Thanos from Marvel Super Heroes (Capcom game), Rocket from UMVC3 (Capcom game) and Drax from Infinity Gauntlet Saga (Marvel Comic Books), but knew nothing about the leader "Star-Lord", the femme fatale "Gamora" or "RonanThe Accuser" until I watched the movie.

To be honest, I wouldn't have given this movie a chance without the Marvel logo. I'm happy to say it can stand on strong legs all by itself. My favorite movie of 2014. I am hooked on that feeling.
