  • Today we traveled out into the woods in search of an eagle nest I frequented last season. Ive seen the nested pair return this year, and today's goal was to go out and observe them. Unfortunately they were out feeding for the majority of the day and we never had the opportunity to see them. Although, we did see signs of the nests recent use, giving me hope that the pair will choose this sight once again to lay their eggs. Come along, and enjoy all the wonders the Alaskan Forest offers.

    I thought something was on screen lol. Then you had typed on screen it was sensor dust. By that time I had tried to scratch it off 4 times. Lol

    Another good video Cameron, I hope you have luck with the nesting pair this year. Where I live on Vancouver Island we have a nest that we have been photographing for the last 5 or 6 years that we can actually sit on a cliff above the nest and shoot right into the nest. This year the eggs have been laid but we are anxiously waiting the hatch. Each year they seem to lay 2 eggs and usually are quite successful in fledging the Eaglets. Two years ago the oldest of the the babies pushed the younger smaller Eaglet out of the nest and it did not survive. Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work.

    Obviously I prefer to see you freeze in the beautiful Alaskan scenery 😉 and it's where you are clearly more comfortable, but the office stuff is informative too and I've watched it as well.
    If you can go out legally and safely close to home it's lovely to see. But don't take risks for us, office or backyard videos are good too and we understand the current situation and it's not forever, we'll still be around to watch when you can take us further again.
    I'm in Scotland, UK. Several of our nature reserves have webcams on Osprey nests and are reporting the return of their birds from migration at the moment. Not the same as being there of course, but it's good to know nature is getting on with Spring even when we're at home.

    I live in Ohio. We have had a resurgence of our eagle population. They are my favorite raptor to photograph too. You were saying about they mate for life. That is true but a couple years ago in Northern Ohio there was a female that cam into a nest and killed the other female and took over the nest and the male. A sad story but that is nature. I have just started watching your videos a couple weeks ago. I really enjoy the many thank you for your service.

    Another nice video Cameron. I feel your pain on not finding the Eagles at the nest. A couple of weeks ago I made the long hike to check on a pair of eagles I have been watching for seven years. They were not there. It was really disheartening to not find them. Today I made that long hike again. The nest was still empty. I decided to look around a little and discovered them at their old nest from three years ago. Was a great feeling to see them again. Max and Claire is how I have labeled them. Take care now and keep making those videos.🙂

      @@cameronroxberry7014 I have a Benro carbon fibre 4 section combination tripod. This has no central column and so is able to get really low. I have it set up with a half bowl plate and use it with the manfrotto 502 video head as I prefer that to a gimbal. I've had it about a year now and apart from that shim going I've been very happy with it. Prior to that I used an old aluminium manfrotto 055 which I have had for around 28 years. It still works but it's getting a bit stiff now and my old manfrotto 501 video head lost a screw, hence the new Benro.
      I'll check the actual Benro product number and send it to you.

    • @cameronroxberry7014
      @cameronroxberry7014  4 года назад

      Robert Lawrence oh, wow! I’ll definitely have to check Benro out! I haven’t really done much research on them. But if you recommend them that highly I’ll definitely check them out

      @@cameronroxberry7014 I have just checked my model. It's theC3780TN. 4 sections, max height 59.8 inches (plus the head), weight 4.7 lbs, max load 39.7 lbs. Comes with bag plus two plates. One flat plate for normal flat based heads and a half bowl for bowled video head. I use the bowl as you are able to level the head without having to level the legs. Much quicker.
      Benro do a decent selection of heads but being a big fan of manfrotto heads and having several of them I decided to stick with them.
      I know Gitzo appear to be the top recommended legs these days but frankly I cannot afford them.
      Anyway good luck with your search.
