You got some great images, Cameron, but you scared the crap out of me with those waders. I kept expecting the water to run over the top edge and fill up the waders. You had a pretty strong current to go along with the cold temp. You wouldn't have lasted long. But, you did get some fabulous images.

Another excellent video and great images. I also would really recommend that you use some type of personal flotation devise when you are in the river. I nearly drowned several years ago while fishing in a river. I slipped on a rock and fell into the river. Part of the problem is that I was also wearing neoprene waders in the winter, neoprene is so buoyant that it is extremely difficult to get your feet back on the bottom. I was fortunate enough that was close enough to shore that I was able to struggle to the bank. Stay safe and thanks for sharing.

Cameron, you are really going the distance to get some cool shots. Your water level perspective is great. I know the Chena River and can't help but wish that you had a CO2 inflatable vest on just in case. After all that you have been through you don't want to drown in the cold Chena. I had a number of friends that perished in cold water. Now that that is out of the way, I have great respect for your dedication and passion top get the shot and share your experience of the great outdoors.

Cameron Roxberry -Hello Cameron. I’m not all that much into social media, but I do have a small gallery on POTN, if you are familiar with it. There are a few photos there listed under kt29. There are some excellent bird photographers on this form, especially Shalu and Medicineman4040. If you get bored have a look at it. In the meantime I will be looking forward to your videos, they are so well done. Were you on the Chena River? Been a very long time since I have been in that area. Take care now.

I enjoyed your video very much. I was very impressed by your ability to capture fast moving birds while using a tripod from such a low angle. A question for you. I have been very unsuccessful trying to photograph waterfowl with waders. The problem is that as soon as I approach the edge of the water, the birds start swimming away. I get into the water with the tripod, usually in a low sitting position near the edge of the pond or lake and then cover the lens, tripod, and myself with the portable hide (Kwik camo). I can remain stationary for as much as 3 hours and the waterfowl will not approach closer than 50 yards. An suggestions? Thanks

It’s easy to get great photos of wildlife when you HAVE wildlife all the time and in abundance to. Why don’t you try to make a living in Utah where we don’t have wildlife right in front of your house door, dude. When AWE get a great photo here, it means something. Yours don’t, because anyone with a point and shoot camera can do your job there in Alaska.
