RUclips brought me here looking for a 1.4x tele converter comparison. Those look great, thanks for sharing. Some of them almost look as if there was a two light setup, one being the low sun and the other one being an on-camera flash. But I assume it was just the reflection of the water?
Hi, All images were taken with simple natural light. Yes, the reflection of sun off the water sometimes brightens things up a bit. Thanks for watching.
Wonderful tips Don, and gorgeous images! This is great inspiration for me to capture beautiful water bird action here in British Columbia... Thank you!
What time of year was the video with the ducks and geese on the lake taken? I'm guessing spring. Also, do the lakes where you are at in Colorado freeze over? I also appreciated you sharing possible duck locations if I'm near Denver. I would go nuts with my camera if I had ducks that close to me. We have some sloughs around despite it being dry here in North Dakota, but the ducks are pretty flighty. Thanks for a great video!
Hi chadolson5537, Most of the images were taken in the middle of winter. We get a lot of ducks then. Yes, many of the water areas do freeze but there are usually a few areas with open water...and then LOTS of ducks and geese need these open areas to hang out in. Once they get used to me they come pretty close. It can be awesome. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment. I do appreciate it!
Hi Kevin, there are tons of good lakes in the Denver metro area. Try Flying B Park, Ketring, Stearns, Centennial, Cherry Creek, Belmar, Bear Creek, Cottonwood, Crown Hill and Prospect. All of those can be excellent, depending on the day or season. Good luck. Bird photography is addicting. Thanks for watching my videos.
"It's a challenge to get close to these birds" ain't that the truth. I've been to multiple lakes in my area and walked away with empty memory cards. Then I can go play chip n putt golf and end up surrounded by geese. "Hey pal, heard you was lookin' for us? Well, here we are!"
Great tips and beautiful photos .

Hi Mikedegot, yeah, I had to search far and wide to find places where the ducks and geese are friendly. Once you find those places it's much easier.
Nice Video..
