Nice one Cameron, good to see how you post process your images and your use of flash as a fill on your backyard birds👍
Excellent indeed. All sorts of good stuff here. I live in Newfoundland where the weather is overcast most of the time. So rather than wait to photography on sunny days, break out the flash!! Thank you.
Pat
Thank you for taking the time making this video. I have been considering adding flash to my backyard birding and have been a bit intimidated with the idea. You explained it clearly and the demonstration was very easy to understand. Keep it up, I enjoy following your work.
Wallace Hendricks thanks Wallace! Make sure and tag me in your work if you start using some flash! I’d love to see what your results are!
Just starting bird photography. Love the video. Thanks!
Cool flash modifier! A Fresnel lens flash extender!
Great video and awesome photos! 👏😊
Awesome video. The B91, is a pretty good flash arm. Great post processing tips.
Míguel Acosta definitely! I really enjoy using it! And stoked you enjoyed the tips man🤙🏻
Thanks great tutorial.
Personally don't do flash but certainly makes the photos pop. I have seen ring flash used for butterfly and insect shots with amazing results. I must give it a try some day, thanks for the video certainly you have it down to a fine art
I thought '41 degrees' - wow, that's hot, then I realised you Americans still use the old Farenheit scale! It's really 5 degrees centigrade - pretty cool really! Great video, really enjoyed it....👍
Brilliant video, enjoying your videos very much. Very helpful and informative. GREETINGS FROM NORFOLK UK. Many thanks for sharing.
This is awesome Cameron!
The Aurora Chasers® by Ronn & Marketa Murray thanks Ronn!
Great video thanks for all the advice,
OMG! The way how you places your gears is so crazy for me. The humidity and earthquakes will destroy all these wonderful things in my country...
Some great information 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks Andrew! Glad you got something out of it🤙🏻
Great video..what setting to you have your speedlight on? TTL,manual..? Also, when if ever would you change the zoom away from 50mm? Cheers
Hello Cameron,
I like your videos about your wildlife photography and watching all when I have time.
Now I do like bird photography and saw this video about using flash with birds, now my point is that I looked up the RRS B-91 flash mount
and a whole different flash mount is shown.
The flash mount shown at RRS webshop is a round one and not like the one you show in the video.
Is the round version the newer version?
I am interested in getting one like yours but can not seem to find one............maybe you have a tip on where to get the same type you are using.
I don't live in the US but in The Netherlands, Europe.
Keep up the great videos and my favorite one so far is the one with the juvenile Bald Eagle which landed near you.
I am hoping to get a 600mm f/4.0 in the near future and I am willing to sell my 400mm f/2.8 VR II to get the 600mm f/4.0.
The better beamer I have found a couple on the internet.
Thanks.
Nice work.
Nice work, Cameron. Approximately how far is your camera from the birds. Since your flash power is pretty low, could I get about the same effect without the bracket? I appreciate all of your tips.
Cool video
Great Video Cameron! 👏🏻 I can’t seem to find the RRS B-91 flash mount anywhere :-(
good video,,, i just saw it.
i hope since 3 years have gone by, you have set aside the BB and cord and switched to radio triggers.
thanks for the video!
Thanks for the video, trying to find an inexpensive Nikon flash that works with teh Better Beamer system
Another excellent video on both the flash and your work flow. What tablet are you using for your editing? Have you tried any of the Topaz Ai filters in your workflow. The Topaz Denoise Ai is incredible.
Happy Easter and stay safe and healthy!
Keith MacDonald hey Keith! Happy Easter man. I using an old Wacom tablet, I actually picked it up a while ago used from my local camera store. As for Topaz I have not, would you recommend it?
@@cameronroxberry7014 Yes I would recommend Topaz Denoise Ai, but I find that Topaz Sharpen Ai tends to over sharpen. Topaz Denoise also sharpens but it is much more subtle. Both are available with free 30 day trials. Most of my friends that are into wildlife photography are using Denoise are really like it. Give it a try.
Thanks for this. Good tips. But regarding the glittery ribbon, I was told to hang one of those to help deter woodpeckers from destroying the cedar shingles on my house. Didn’t work to well however, but don’t see how it would attract birds? Will need to do some more reading.
Nice video. Which drawing pen tablet are you using?
Great video! Not much info on off camera flash for wildlife out on the web. Question about the tripod foot, looks like a manfrotto fluid head, I use the same but I don’t see a manfrotto plate on your lens foot...are there manfrotto plate lens collars/feet available??
Michael Fland hey Michael! So glad you enjoyed it! The plate it on there unfortunately.. I wish there were manfrotto collars though😂 I really hate the idea of a secondary plate on a perfectly good collar haha
Cameron Roxberry I agree haha. Thanks for your time!
very nice video
Perì Fyseos thanks Peri! So glad you enjoyed it🙌🏻
Never used these hoods from Really Right Stuff, but they have some options that resolve completely around the lens. You can actually put multiple flashes on them. This gives the flash a nice side angle.
huh??
@@PA-gt1dd *hood damn autocorrect.
Can you recommend another bracket system . It seems the b91 isnt available anymore. I have been trying to look online every where and can not find it. Or is the bracket system in 2 parts that you have set up?
You have the B-91 plus another RRS arm. You may want to list that part as well
Nice video thanks but can you link to that B91 bracket because cannot find anything like it for the price you state, Thankyou. Russ
Russell Webb I couldn’t find a website that still offered my older version but I found them on eBay by just searching RRS b91. The newer model is way overpriced in my opinion.
Is there different brackets for a sigma lens . I have the sigma 150-600mm lens. Yours looks much larger .
Are you using HSS?
Good question.
The B-91 flash mount I found doesn't look anything like yours.
Unable to find flash mount bracket your using in this video
Shutterspeed 800 with a flash??
My Nikon stops at 250 or 320 when cranked.
auto fp
Pretty tall there Cameron on your camera
Nevermind very nice u can lower them
Justin Gates I still manage to run the speed light into every single doorway, every single time 😅
@@cameronroxberry7014 still awesome though u have a good Easter
Justin Gates you as well, Justin!
10:20.... shutter speed at 1/800... ??? ... flash synch?
Chickity lol
I wish I could afford a telephoto lens 😢
You should check out the sigma 150to600mm contemporary lens for your camera body
Hi, what was the distance from flash to subject? cheers
Not sure the waving flag helps your efforts to attract birds.
You fucked up the photo with that crop😭😭
So you increase the contrast , and then you lift shadows that kills the contrast, then you want to keep the highlights and then you bring down the white that negates what you intend to do? what the hell are you editing? nice lens though….!
I hate flas photography bird
Kamal Ingti I’m sorry you don’t like it, man. To each their own.
You're harming those bird eyes with your flash. Do you understand that ?
