Sigma MC-21 vs Fotodiox ND Throttle Fusion | Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 & Panasonic S1

- In this video we’re going to look at the Sigma MC-21 versus the Fotodiox ND Throttle Fusion, EF to L-mount adapter, with the Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 on the Panasonic S1. Here’s the story.
If you own the Panasonic S1 and already own EF lenses, then chances are you already know about the Sigma MC-21 adapter. It lets you use your existing EF lenses on the S1’s L-mount, giving you aperture control, single auto focus and lens stabilisation. However Fotodiox also now released an adapter that does all that, plus adds 2-8 stops of variable ND. This is incredibly handy if you’re filming outside and want to maintain a fixed shutter speed and have more control over how much light is coming into your camera. But when filming inside, is having the minimum 2 stops of ND a deal breaker? Well, let's take a look at some video examples.

Greta review. I have a special question. I own an S1H and I love my Laowa 100mm 2:1 Macro. But on the Sigma-adapter it does not support aperture. So this lens is useless on the S1H and I only use it with the Metabones adapter on my GH5. Do you think this would work on the Fotodiox? It would be so great.
Would you say that it's worth it to buy both of these adapters and invest in EF glass for the convenience of having the option of an ND right after the camera?
I want to invest in the VND adapter so that i can also use a tilta mini mattebox on the front of my lenses, but since the VND adapter holds on quite a lot of light, I should need the MC-21 as well, incase I'm shooting in lowlight situations...
It really depends on what your needs are. If you shoot inside then the MC-21 would be ideal, but if you shoot outside, then having the VND is incredibly useful. If you already have a good VND for your EF glass (like a PolarPro VND 2-5 or 6-9 stops) and you're happpy to screw it on and off, then go for the MC-21. But if you have lenses with various filter size threads and don't want to deal with multiple filters, step-up rings etc, then the Fotodiox adapter would be the right choice. The Fotodiox also allows me to use my Laowa 12mm F2.8 lens which doesn't have a filter thread, which is helpful!
Or you could buy a cinema camera like the Panasonic EVA1 or Canon C70 that has built in ND filters ;) Sorry I can't give you a definitive answer!
Any chance that you could compare the Fotodiox to regular ND filters or high quality variable NDs (like the PolarPro or B+W) concerning sharpness, flares, color shift and polarization issues (like screens or windows)? That would be super helpful!

Can I ask you? - It is possible to use lenses from "Samyang Cinema - EF mount, without any problems with this Leica Adapter???
I haven't used those lenses but if they have an EF mount they should work on either adapter.
Sigma mc-21 works with S5 lumix ? and Ef 50 mm or another EF canon ? Or EFS ? and stabilisation is ok ?

I would like to find a video about Commlite EF-L mount vs VILTROX EF-L because viltrox is a really good and reliable company specially what they have done with gh5 EF-M2 . wich does what speedbooster does but for1/3 of the price + have a usb c port to update firmware. So i dunno why no one made a review about it VILTROX EF-L "

Looks like it add a bit of yellow tint?
To correct this I should have done another white balance, so it's user error on my behalf! But it does demonstrate that there is a colour shift, but should be fixable. I might make another video addressing this :) Thanks for watching and commenting!

All i need is the S1 OR S1R OR WOULD THE NEW S5 BE A BETTER OPTION I LIKE HIKE AND LANDSCAPE
If you want to shoot photo and video I would get the S1. If you mainly do photos, I'd get the S1R. If you can't afford the S1H and are OK with record time limits and want a smaller camera, get the S5. I haven't really looked too much into the S5 because I already have the S1 👍
