This is nice
Thank you for your nice comment :)
Love these kind of conversations. Push the theories forward!
Glad you enjoyed the conversation. We plan to have many more like this is the future!
That picture is great. I love shooting film. One of my favorite parts is that you really have to slow down. When you have 36 exposures per roll (or 1/3 of that with medium format), you don't just spam the shutter button and move on to the next thing. I still shoot a lot of digital, but I think the careful process of film makes me a better photographer regardless of medium
Very true! Thanks for sharing your thoughts Rick!
Well a gh7 has more dynamic range than a brand new z6iii full frame camera .. so there is that.
Thanks for the video. I am also a G9II, GH7, PL 10-25, PL25-50, Voigtlander lenses, shooter.
Thanks for watching!
How good is GH7 in Birding ... vs G9 ii.
Its the same. They both are basicalky the same camera.
I prefer my gh6. Better color..less digital more cunematic 6 sensor imo much better
@@martysender5539 interesting opinion, thanks for watching!
Just curious. Have you actually used the GH7?
@@marcuswarren1320of course he has not but he has to justify his gh6. I own a gh7 and i am blown away by how good the footage looks
Sir can make short film by 6d?
Your clickbait did get me to waste 90 seconds of my life looking for an honest opinion about the camera I just ordered (and to write this comment), but the misleading title only succeeded in getting me to remove your channel from my recommendations so I never have to be bothered by your content again. Do better.
It sounds like you didn't watch the entire video. At the time of you leaving this comment, the video was called "I bought the Sony a7CII" - which was a true statement. The thumbnail was a picture of me face palming with big text saying "INSTANT REGRET" - which was how I was feeling. All of this was done to get people's attention and to click on the video. If the video was called "An honest review on the a7CII and why you shouldn't buy it" - then I think you would have a really good case on calling this video click bait and leaving the reply that you did. But it wasn't. With that said, to avoid further confusion for other people in the future, I've changed the title and the thumbnail. My aim with this video was to share my story with my audience, plus get some views and watch time, which has been very succesful for my small channel. Unfortunately, you are not my audience. All the best.

You are gonna LOVE the C400. By far my favorite. Low light is crazy.
How does the low light perform? I've heard the noise is quite noticeable?

You have ff lenses and you will only use it on studio or for youtube videos. So i think a7cii is still great for that. I wonder if you replaced it with fx30.
@@zkiel5158 I’m currently using the FX30 with the Sony 15mm 1.4 (apsc). It’s the wide shot for my podcast. The FX30 works with the monitor and control app, so I can trigger record all my cameras (FX6 and a7S3 as well) all at the same time from the iPad app. Unfortunately the a7c2 isn’t compatible with that app yet.
I know this is old but how did you connect from camera to computer if not using webcam utility or capture card. Did you just record to card ?
Time wasted 👎
It's all a learning experience
very interesting
Glad you found it interesting. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Better quality ND filters are critical...... Lee and Nisi are the go. You get very little ghosting distortion with those brands
They are important if you use them! Or you can just crank the shutter ;)
@@YourStoryStudios Nisi make a CPL and ND together ....in the one filter .... it rarely comes off my camera, especially outdoors
@@nevvanclarke9225 nice!
For me, being able to set custom focal lengths for manual lenses with no electronic contacts. Just like the fx3. This could be paired with the additional feature of a digital image stabilization or at least give me the ability to stabilize with catalyst browse. Right now, when I shoot on a vintage lens or cinema lens, I have no ability to stabilize without a gimbal or steadycam. The jitters are SO BAD when used stripped down without a heavy rig built out.
Good point! There's always something extra that can be added to new cameras ;)
why the Cloudlifter?
@@carlossantini some people would say it’s over kill and not needed on the sound device, but I’d rather not crank up the preamp. I think I’ve tried that in the past and wasn’t satisfied with the quality, so I’ve gone back to the cloud lifter when using the sm7b.
@@YourStoryStudios haven't had any issues whatsoever in my case.
@@carlossantini Yeah, I might need to revisit the cloudlifter!

Love the video! Great job on this!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
agree. 70-200 is the perfect lens for capturing genuine interactions
It does help being out of sight when capturing those moments!
Will the fxr6 zoom rocker still control the lens zoom?
@@Jordan-e2u no it doesn’t. The zoom rocker will do clear image zoom, but if you want it to control the lens then you’ll need a lens like the Sony 28-135mm f4.
Thanks for having me on the show Nathan, loved the chat! 🙌🏻 I need to get stuck into more of those pastries next time too, so good.
Can't wait to have you back on the pod!

I had the luck of having a studio hand and holy moly it really does help especially when it's a larger set with props n what nog
having an extra pair of hands can be very helpful! Thanks for commenting.
This is a useful comparison. Good to see when a dynamic mic sounds better than a lav.
Glad it was helpful!
huge fan Clinton. You have been so versatile! An amazing portfolio of work and work opportunities. An international star on our doorstep. And a pretty humble guy too. So many big names you didnt mention and could have. Thank you for the amazing experience of my daughters wedding, and the art classes to my kinder kids. All wonderful.
If you had done your job and done your research you would have bought the fx30 from the start

@@jonpaultucker thanks for watching Jon!
As a RUclips University graduate as far as video goes, I appreciate the vast knowledge that's these available to us to learn anything you like. However, having studied audio production at RMIT, I can definitely see the merit in formal education. The things I learnt in the course gave me a really solid foundation to build from and I can only imagine if I'd studied film in a similar way I would have advanced much quicker and probably be better overall. When I meet people who learnt audio online they are often quite skilled but I also find some holes in their knowledge and base concepts and I think that's due to the lack of structure in teaching yourself. It seems the ideal situation is formal education supplemented with self learning online but it's also true that University is not a prerequisite for success, just a really good tool.
@@jonpaultucker great thoughts!
Great episode! I love Blackmagic gear, punches well above it's weight
I have limited experience with Blackmagic cameras, but they do produce a very nice image!

A mistake - sorry ☹️
@@Pfagnan we learn from our mistakes!
With final cut pro, do you realize that the quality of the footage is compromised?
Does anyone know why my 24-105mm f4 paired with my fx6 vibrates from 70 to 105mm? It vibrates but as soon as I turn off the OSS it stops vibrating… Does anyone have run into this issue?
@@YuriBertacchi I never had that issue sorry! It could be something physical with the lens.
@@YourStoryStudios yeah that’s what I was thinking too! Because I tried with other lenses and they do not vibrate. The only thing that I still don’t understand is.. when I pair that lens with my a7siii the lense does not vibrate… It’s really strange ! Btw thank you for replying
@@YuriBertacchi You could try possibly a lens firmware update on the FX6 and see if that changes anything.
Great video! I just started a video production podcast as well. Been doing video for 20 years so I figured it was time... I'm also an FX6 user. If you're looking for a great B-cam for the FX6 definitely consider the FX3 or FX30. I use all 3 at my production company and they match really well.
Thanks! I've just got the FX30 and will be putting it to use in future videos :)
@@YourStoryStudios Nice! Just a heads up, the white balance on FX6 and FX30 don't quite match out of camera. If you use manual WB then set FX30 200 kelvin cooler than the FX6 and they'll match almost perfectly. At least for my units 🤣
@@storykingstudios appreciate the tip!
So not a video about a7cII ... If you want to provide meaningful content, move past the clickbait nonsense
This is an episodic update about my journey as a video producer and the equipment I am using to solve my unique problems. Sometimes we pick the wrong piece of equpment for a variety of reasons. I appreciate the comment and the advice.
@YourStoryStudios call it "getting a permanent youtube camera" then. People search for a7cii reviews and end up on this rant where you don't even have the cameras you are talking about lol. Wow you found an apsc one that was cheaper than the FF, who would have guessed
@@YourStoryStudios your video is such a clickbait.
@alex532 The video title or thumbnail doesn't say it's a review. My tags don't include the key term "review". This video isn't a review. Thanks for watching and commenting.
lol, can't see the point here.. complain about not having done some homework and research before spending 3000+ bucks? 🙄
@@eduardeutsch_YT thanks for watching and commenting 👍
I have a Panasonic Lumix G9M2 mirrorless camera. Quick question. Do I clean the sensor with the camera turned on or off? Some say on to lock the sensor others say off. Bit confused. Also do I turn the image stabilization on or off? In all the videos I have seen these questions are not addressed. Help/Advice please.
@@geoffreykingston4866 I’m not quite sure sorry!
Thank you for the video. How do you connect the Lav and handheld to work together? is that possible?
Yes, you can sync channel 1 to the lav transmitter and channel 2 with the handheld microphone. I use the Sony handheld microphone which has it's own transmitter built in.
@@YourStoryStudios thank you! I would appreciate you have a link to instructions or video tutorial.
I found out that increasing the brightness removes the flickering 😊
I might give that a try! Thanks for the tip.
@@YourStoryStudios the brightness of the Lametric clock, I meant. I have the latest firmware but was still struggling with this unless I set the shutter speed to 1/40 instead of 1/50. But increasing the brightness of the Lametric while remaining at 1/50 or 1/60 is even better :)
@@AFrenchguyinEngland yep, I understood what you meant 😉 I’ll try it out today. Appreciate the tip!
I just tried turning the brightness up to 100% and the lines are still there. For the FX6, if I turn the shutter angle to 150 instead of 180 it goes. For the a7s3 if I go to 1/40 it goes, OR I can shoot in DCI 4K at 24p and it goes at 1/48.
@@YourStoryStudios interesting results. Which option will you select? But before you make your choice, could you please make the tests again but this time unplugging the power supply and using the usb cable with power bank that outputs 5V & 2A, to power the Lametric? This will remove the grid phasing factor from the equation. Please let me know what you find out.
