I am a 72 year old Music professor at a Tier One University in the US. Music has been my whole life since I could walk. My students laugh about me being BBB ( Bach, Brahms and BTS). I have a BTS poster display outside my office door which a couple of students have told me helped make their decision to come to our school 🙂 Although I love Classical music I have always emotionally needed the Yang to the Yin of Classical music, that Yang being the power and energy of such groups as Nirvana, Linkin Park and AudioSlave to release anger, depression, and frustration; which Classical music just doesn't do. , I never listened to Boy Bands and never dreamed I would become such a huge fan of one until I found BTS. They have the explosive energy ,profound depth and sweetness to cover all the manifestations of human emotions. And they don't sell their fan's intellectual capabilities short, I went to a conference designed for academics on BTS during the pandemic, we talked about how they feed our souls, our intellects and our hearts. I am proud to be a Silver Army.

Right there with you. I retired in early 2015, and immediately (and by accident) discovered BTS. I have never been a true fan of any group, although I certainly have favorites in many genre. Their ability to express joy, grief, anger, hope made me theirs, along with their sheer talent. I love the diversity of their interests and abilities, and the unity of their care for one another and for us.
I keep on saying this .. the younger members could easily have gone to serve at a later time but they chose to go in the peak of their careers just so they could come back together ! That’s a TEAM ! Thats SELFLESSNESS and THATS LOVE !!!!

I think that's the reason why so many people of all ages and walks of life love them. They make us feel seen, feel loved and listened to and most of all, make us feel beautiful and accepted. In case the younger armies are wondering why they have a strong silver army you have to understand the philosophy of many of the top groups of our youth which was Sex, drugs and drink, and using their fans not loving them. They may have made great music but too many youth followed their habits until their untimely end. So many of the so called idols of our day died of drug related incidences it was sad. Some over time turned around and became better people but I know of no other group that made their fans better people. I so wish there would have been a group like BTS when I was young but I am happy to relive my youthful years with BTS now. I am 72 yrs this year and they keep me young and happy. Their music is some of the best I have ever heard even from those heralded as the best. I do not recall one group so versatile, so talented, so humble, so philanthropic and just so lovely. They are everything we wanted in a group when we were young but had to wait a long time to find one, but are glad we have found them even now. Armies do you know how lucky you are to be able to grow old with them, I envy you.
So well said! Being 60 just this year, this is one of the biggest reasons I’m ARMY, because this group and each member are just decent human beings with a passion for music. They aren’t the typical music star of yesteryear and I really can’t think of one that did anything much FOR THE FANS. it was all about the money most of the time. These guys are the hardest worker performers I have ever seen! And what you said about the only band to make their fans better people… just totally on point. They are always encouraging and caring towards ARMY. And kindness is precious commodity these days. In my heart and mind these men are precious!

Army grandma here. In my 66 years of life I have never had an idol in the music scene. I’ve seen many musicians and actors that were fabulous but no one ever inspired me like these 7 Korean boys. I’ve been wanting to write RM a letter to thank him for his leadership, expressing my gratitude also to the other members. Their art is simply divine and could only be produced by their personalities that glow with their beautiful souls. Thank you BTS.

Just one of the reasons I adore them (and there are a lot) they are Not committed to one genre of music, they are all over the place, in All Genres. They are Anything but boring. I remember when BTS announced taking a break from group activities at their 2022 festa and my heart dropped and I screamed in my head “No! I only had less than 1 year since I found you! I was heart broken. After a few days I started processing my emotions and thoughts and came up with solutions for myself to deal with what I thought was going to be a huge void. Well, BTS members proved me wrong in my feelings and thoughts. They planned and organized their “taking a break from group activities” so well that it amazed me. They worked so hard so that we wouldn’t be lonely by their absence as a group. They are so amazing to do this for us and always having army in the forefront of their hearts. I sorely miss them as a group but they didn’t leave us high and dry. The well is full. Thank you for this segment.
I’d only recently found them before that Festa, too, and consoled myself with thinking at least there was a wealth of previous content to discover. And then they kept on coming out with content! I’m deep into BTS at this point and even have an official ARMY membership. I’m 50 and have never stanned any group before but I’m in this for life 💜

What has helped BTS is fans from USA and Europe. We never stop loving our performers and many are still rocking the stage in their 70's and they fill stadiums at that age! I am 59 almost 60 and have been following BTS since 2013, I found them about 3 months after their debut. I will be with them until either I go or they decide to put down the torch.

Exactly! International ARMY is the real key. We don't focus as hard on youth as we do on love and devotion. When we fall in love with a group like this it's for life and I will be ARMY until they put me in my grave. I'm from America and I fell in love with BTS's story they came from nothing so they were naturally humble. To see them start at the very bottom and become the biggest boyband in the world is a true rags to riches story. Their company was on the verge of bankruptcy and they made it with their hard work and talent. From BIG HIT to now forming HYBE is a crazy story.

You can feel it in the near-rage from stans of other groups. They envisioned this massive vacuum where most ARMY would try out and also fall in love with their groups. We tried to warn them that many of us aren't generic k-pop fans & we aren't going anywhere.

Though the 'expert' who predicted ARMY would basically get bored and wander off to new things made me 🙄 Well, that may be the case for other groups and other fandoms, but when this fandom is saying, "We'll wait, we'll be here when you get back," the 'expert' really ought to pay attention.

You are one of the best narrators and story tellers I've ever seen. There are already a few college lectures about BTS (in future to be more, I'm sure). They seem to be aligned by the stars or at least some universal energy that holds things together. When I first saw them on SNL 5 years ago, I really was sitting on my couch waiting to die. But this story is familiar by now... the next morning I just wanted to know their names. And the more I knew the more I wanted to know. I grew up as the oldest of 7 children in one big Irish family and instead of seeing the differences in American culture and Asian culture all I saw were the similarities. I have no doubt that they will continue to bring a happy, peaceful aura into the lives of the people who can see them and feel the joy they seem destined to spread around the globe. They gave me the best hobby an old lady could wish for (making YT videos). I wish I was young enough to grow old with them... I'm 76 and I really want to be here when they come back in 2025. 🕊😇🌹💜
There will never be another BTS! There is such a perfect combination in personalities and strength and ARMY doesn't just blindly follow. Everything you have pointed out is right, they are a special group of guys and I don’t know if anyone else could ever replicate what they have accomplished.
I am a 60 years old Army, my family are amazed by how big of a BTS fan I am, because my kids are older than them. I love ❤️ BTS, because of the hardships they went through and never gave up, they are humble, loving, caring and they truly love Army just as much as we love them. I love their music and the energy it gives. BTS is successful, because they care, respect one another and they support each other, they are a family. We are a strong based fans of BTS, because we went down that road with them when they were struggling and underdogs, we will be with them forever. I too am a 65 year old African American woman who adore BTS! I've been a lover of music all my life & have had a few particular artists that I've followed because of their musical talent. I found BTS during the pandemic around the time I retired. And I can honestly say that I've never felt the way I feel about these wonderful young men & their music.

Hey ladies! It’s so nice seeing other black women who are fans of the boys. I’m also in my 60s and found them during the pandemic. I fell so hard that I went to concerts in LA and Las Vegas and I even started learning Korean at my big age. I can’t explain why I adore them so much but I’m so happy I found them. Bts really set the blueprint to be able to have long careers, but also making sure they get time to enjoy their personal endeavors. I believe many boy groups will follow this outline. Great video!!!!
I love BTS but not sure what you mean by setting the blueprint for longer career in this industry, there are many second generation kpop groups still going strong after 10-15+ years.
I do believe they will be in the industry for a long time, I simply meant they aren't the first to do so. Same as they weren't the first Kpop to be on an American talk show or perform/win on an American awards show.

This is my opinion. I think that since they could not break up BTS by them entering into the military. They decide to destroy them through their company HYBE.
They have decided to TRY but they will not win that battle. They are just mad because BIGHIT also broke the mold when they didn't micromanage BTS and gave them freedom and support instead of treating them like something to be used and thrown away. Agreed....we've all noticed the anti-BTS, anti-HYBE stories/rumors that started appearing one after the other. It's all sound & fury which won't amount to anything. Jin is out soon & we're all waiting to see what he does - no one will be listening to anything except Jin.
I agree with everything you said. I think that the industry was hoping that BTS's military service would weaken the bond between them and Army, and it hasn't. It has grown stronger. Now that we are in the count down period for the return of the 1st member, Jin, I anticipate a surge in Army activity and consumption everything BTS. Army is waiting eagerly and once Jin returns, the joy and the rallying behind BTS will bump up with every member that returns from the military service. I think this scares all of those that were hoping for an opening with their military service, and that is one of the reasons why we see such a bump of malicious rumors etc right before Jin's return.

72 year old British, silver Army here. I have heard so much music through my life, many styles, fashions, much that I have enj 16:18 oyed, but I never fell into a fandom or became obsessed like I have with BTS. It wasn't deliberate on my part, it just happened, and I love it.
57yr old Army. 7 Kings being of 1 mind and goal, without malice, orchestrated the perfect takeover of Kpop and music in general. I feel bad that they've worked so hard, and even with having to enlist they worked even harder for Army. When will they ever get a proper break???? Always thinking about their fans. The root of this problem is to destroy HYBE. What better way to do that is to attack the top-grossing artists of Big Hit/HYBE? As for copying what another group does, tell me what group doesn’t take part in what another does and incorporate it into what they do. I also highly doubt that a group like BTS needs to copy another group. I have not seen a group yet that can come close to what they do. As for the Cult issue, does anyone believe they are following some cult? Chart manipulation is a joke. The group that dominates everything they do has no reason to manipulate the charts.
I'm a Grandma Army and an old rocker. BTS really found me when I needed them the most. I wasn't even listening to music at the time because I was so depressed, but then they magically fell into my life with their music & stories of determination. They sang, rapped & danced their way right into my heart. I don't need or want another group & no one could ever replace them for me. I'm in this for life & couldn't be more proud of these amazing young men 💜

Hello BTS … I am 78 and ARMY. My daughter and granddaughter are fans too. These 7 guys set a standard not only for K-pop but also for other bands/groups internationally. They are so generous with their donations as well as their music & devotion to ARMY. They speak to teens as well as us “older teens” who are young at heart. Hi I’m one of the grandmas for BTS 70+ and I gotta tell you I love these precious boys so much. I really get upset when folks talk negative things about them. Their music is so awesome their personalities and their interactions with one another warms my heart. Their devotion to each other and their fans and music is addictive. When they made the decisions to fulfill their duty other fandoms were all happy and I remember leaving a message saying you people had problems when they performed as a group. These boys are like power rangers together they are a force to reckon with what you gonna do when each does their own individual thing and darned if I wasn’t right. Now you have 8 entries to try and keep up with and you won’t be able to catch up. I was right. It warms the cockles of my heart😂😂. By the way I love love your channel.
Yes! Perfectly said. 63 yr old Army here, since 2017. BTS is stand-alone in so many ways. I will be ARMY til I die. Their creativity runs deep and wide. Their projects are all intetesting and inspired. And personally their levels of commitment, integrity and authenticity are off the charts. So. Much. Respect. I have for them.
Very well said. My daughter once asked are not getting sick of watching their videos over and over again? I just look at her. I still go through my daily Spotify listening to BTS while I am doing household chores and keep on checking out videos of them. They are loyal to their fans so we need to reciprocate their love. BTS is really different. I have never seen any boy band after The Beatles, that has this charisma worldwide. I consider myself lucky that I have known in my lifetime, The Beatles and now BTS. But I am more proud because they are from Asia., just like me. Just really excited for 2025, I want to see them perform again! Praying for their health and safety always so that they can make more Army's happy and stay in this business for a long time. They are legends in the making. 17 year old ARMY here. Not all of us are mad after their physical appearance only and make BTS our entire personalities! BTS is by far the best thing that has happened to me, I was highly suicidal and severely depressed and had anxiety. I still struggle with it, but when I heard the song Make It Right from their song Persona, it reduced me to tears. It seemed like a joy, almost a wonder to see someone wanting to set things right for me, just me, and I guess having dealt with loneliness for so long, it seemed to touch me. I have never cried over a piece of media as such, movies books or songs, so Make It Right is a song very special to me. Thank you BTS, I will stick by your side until I too, become a grandma! Thank you for saving me, there’s no one like you and there never will be. I will try my best to be an ARMY you can be proud of, and try to make it right in my life because I have your and other ARMYs support.

51 years old. Only now catching up on their story. Been watching docs and everything related for the past few months. I admire their power to work through all the hell they faced from their own industry. I respect them and their fans. The fans are their family and power. I respect that you. What an incredible story these young men have. I am proud of how their Army made an impenetrable wall around them and ensure their love will heal the wounds created by a corrupt industry. What a shame. Never have a known more about South Korea that i know now because of BTS. The country should appreciate them because their country ring on our ears because of BTS.
One of the main reasons I love these boys so much is that I came onto them in a very unconventional way. I saw their interactions with Army through social media and was fascinated. It was at least a month before I seriously even listened to a song. I especially hit Run BTS hard. Added to their impressive array of talents, they are all natural comedians. Well, maybe not RM lol. So I became Army through their social presence alone. Meaning I saw each of their personalities play out over the years long before I ever listened to their music. The music was always an aside to me as I was a diehard metalhead (LOL). The boys and who they were, was always the most important to me. I think I formed a deeper bond because of this, idk, but it sure was fun, lol. One day it struck me as odd that I hadn't listened to any of their music so I finally started digging though their impressive catalog. You can probably imagine my surprise when I heard how good their music was long after I had become Army of sorts. :)
Bts has a lot of metal head fans. Boracity magazine has a video about how bts are rockstars. That might give you some insight why you’d be drawn to them. I wasn’t a metal head, but I enjoy music with meaning or displays passion, that’s how I got drawn to their music

I'm 63 yo and extremely proud to be BTS ARMY forever. I started following them in 2014 and became Army 2015. They share their artistry and personal feelings with us. From business manners, performances, and their chaotic crazy humor. They actually care about their fans. They know how to make us happy in life, find joy in ourselves, to care about others. With true feelings, they laugh and cry with us as their music soothes your soul. They are like family, you protect family. 🙆♀️💜

I'm an ARMY since 2022 so a lot of content to catch up on, but after 2 years being sleep deprived and glued to their music and other videos I know that when it comes to BTS you get only superlatives and exceptional substance. I read many of the comments and see my thoughts mirrored in them...BTS and the members are THE musician and THE humans we waited all our lives. Everyday heroes who I will admire and cherish wherever they are, whatever they decide to do in the future. I'll be there to support!
At 72 I am so proud of BTS. They have given me joy and great pleasure as I follow their journey having become an Army just 3 years ago. My first experience was Mic Drop followed by Black Swan, two very different performances, I was hooked. I love them to pieces.
I feel it also helped that each and every BTS member is well loved so they can release individual activities and do extremely well! Other groups might have only a few strong members who can succeed in being a solo artists while the rest of the members are not strong enough to uphold the group while on military. BTS is the exception!
I think they have become more handsome as they have aged. They have come into their own. They were not forced to appease their audience with s/exuslity. They won their fans over with good music, excellent performances and their charming personalities. They have accomplished so much because of their talent and hard work. Army will always stand with BTS because we are in a mutual love and respect relationship. We have cried and laughed together for many years now and we will walk through this life together. ApoBangpo.

I didn't. I knew better and i only became a fan in 2020. They filled even the smaller breaks and older fans talked about the great month break during their first contract renewal. I have decided to have faith in them and they have proven that I don't have to be afraid.
I only became ARMY in January this year (after watching the Beyond the Star documentary), and initially I thought it was a blessing in disguise for me that they were all in the military, so I had some time to catch up on 10 years of content... WRONG! There has been no time to simply catch up because the content has not stopped! It's been 4 months and I feel like I've loved them a lifetime. Kpop fans are saying BTS and HYBE ruined kpop and its not like it used to be. But from day one they were always doing something against the kpop norm, they didn't take any oath to stick to and uphold kpop traditions. They are also saying BTS is getting preferential treatment because how can they be releasing albums when they are enlisted. But obviously other companies just didn't look into the law and and policies to realize that they could actually do that. But BTS had the desire to leave content for their fans and so they looked into how to do that, legally.
Yes the accuses BTS and HYBE of breaking the law. Errm they aren't working while serving they made these things BEFORE their entry. Just like any other South Korean Artist who makes something and it' goes into a gallery to be sold it can be sold and that money is entered into their bank accounts. Just people do not understand they jump onto band wagons without fact checking or logical thinking. Or they do understand and just want to stir up hate and controversy. ugggh.

This was a perfect analysis of why BTS is exceptional. It's not just that they're all gorgeous, or talented, but they are sincerely, genuinely good people. They want to be their best selves and they want to inspire others to do the same. BTS would not be the same if they hadn't had the combination of personalities that they have. Each of the members are valuable to the whole as well as the company that they were raised in. Despite whatever criticisms they may receive due to perceived unfairness in one situation or another, the bottom line is that Bang PD nurtured these guys in a way that made them soar and Big Hit (long before they became Hybe) and their staff have loved and nurtured them as well. It definitely takes a village to raise a child and they really did have a pretty good village. They've had such a loving community around them that it's like despite having been so young when they started and being pulled from their families, they were raised with just as much love as if they were surrounded by family, which is why they've had such a tight knit bond. And the love they've received is the love they return to Army. It has been easy and a pleasure to fall in love with these 7 guys. I appreciate that they are down to earth enough to let us into their lives and get to know their real personalities and really, what you see onstage is what you get behind the scenes. They care for each other; they sincerely care for their fans. They are thoughtful, generous and kind and they care about the details which is why they put together care packages for their fans while they were gone. Not because they were concentrating on staying relevant, they put together care packages because they were genuinely concerned about Army's well-being while they were gone. Just like they kept working through the pandemic not because they were busy trying to make a name for themselves, but because they were concerned with the well-being of Army's hearts and minds during a really challenging time. They could have taken a break and/or even gone into the military then to get it over with so that by the time the pandemic was over they would be pretty much done. But they kept delaying their deployments so that they could take care of Army before they left. I never had a doubt in my mind that Army would continue to love and support them through their enlistment. We are just giving back what they have given to us. And yes, the haters can continue to hate, numbers can be doctored to seem like it's not that big a deal, but whatever happens it will never keep them down because they always rise above the pettiness. They have been so forgiving to those along the way who have dismissed them and now those very same people who gave them no credit are looking at them with stars in their eyes. They have set the example of how to "be a good human" (as Jimin likes to wear on his clothes quite often). They take nothing for granted and they have genuine gratitude for where they are. I was so incredibly concerned about their well-being and how they would be treated in the military and turns out my fears were unnecessary. They have worked hard and been the type of people that they are in their "day jobs" kind, considerate, generous and hardworking and they have endeared themselves to their fellow military personnel because of that. It's quite often that I hear or read of people saying, "I get it now. I see why they are so popular or so well loved." They are definitely the whole package, and I can't wait to see what they have in store once they come out of the military. But, before that, I hope they take a really nice, really private vacation first. LOL they definitely deserve it. I didn't mean to make this comment so long. Once I start to gush about BTS I find that I can't stop. There's just so much good to comment on. So, I apologize for being so long winded, especially when your video so perfectly and succinctly laid everything out. 🤭🥰😍💜💜💜
My cousin says, “ Don’t let Ann talk about BTS. She will be telling you each one’s life history five hours later.” I never cared enough about any other group to *know their life histories. But BTS lets us into their struggles as well as their fun.
We are a family of BTS lovers. Im the oldest at 61. And im proud of it. There's something beautiful and meaningful about our relationship with BTS. It's borne out of self love, respect and understanding others. I believe i will always be an Army

I agree that BTS has created a blueprint. But not too many artists can follow. One of the many things that sets them apart from others is their hard working nature, their resilience, and their love for each other and their fans. Yes other artists now see what they need to do, but not all have the mental strength to carry it out. It’s not all fun and games. It’s an exhausting, sometimes degrading (due to antis), grind….many will give up along the way. And not all groups enjoy being in the group. It only takes one person to call it quits and the whole thing crumbles. All the hate BTS went through when they were up and coming…many would have already given up at that time. Even now, they’re THE BIGGEST group in the world, you would think they’re so high up that they’re immune from naysayers, but look at what people are doing now to try and bring them down even though they are in the military serving their country. There is no other group that I know of that has the popularity as BTS. Maybe the Beatles,(way back 65 years ago) They have lifted the bar so high no other groups will be able to catch up. As a group or as soloists,none can compare. I have been around since the 60's,seen alot of groups(some still around) ,but none has stuck out as much as BTS and ARMY. That relationship will go down in history for future generations to learn from.
I am a 72 year old Music professor at a Tier One University in the US. Music has been my whole life since I could walk. My students laugh about me being BBB ( Bach, Brahms and BTS). I have a BTS poster display outside my office door which a couple of students have told me helped make their decision to come to our school 🙂 Although I love Classical music I have always emotionally needed the Yang to the Yin of Classical music, that Yang being the power and energy of such groups as Nirvana, Linkin Park and AudioSlave to release anger, depression, and frustration; which Classical music just doesn't do. , I never listened to Boy Bands and never dreamed I would become such a huge fan of one until I found BTS. They have the explosive energy ,profound depth and sweetness to cover all the manifestations of human emotions. And they don't sell their fan's intellectual capabilities short, I went to a conference designed for academics on BTS during the pandemic, we talked about how they feed our souls, our intellects and our hearts. I am proud to be a Silver Army.

Right there with you. I retired in early 2015, and immediately (and by accident) discovered BTS. I have never been a true fan of any group, although I certainly have favorites in many genre. Their ability to express joy, grief, anger, hope made me theirs, along with their sheer talent. I love the diversity of their interests and abilities, and the unity of their care for one another and for us.

In case the younger armies are wondering why they have a strong silver army you have to understand the philosophy of many of the top groups of our youth which was Sex, drugs and drink, and using their fans not loving them. They may have made great music but too many youth followed their habits until their untimely end. So many of the so called idols of our day died of drug related incidences it was sad. Some over time turned around and became better people but I know of no other group that made their fans better people. I so wish there would have been a group like BTS when I was young but I am happy to relive my youthful years with BTS now. I am 72 yrs this year and they keep me young and happy. Their music is some of the best I have ever heard even from those heralded as the best. I do not recall one group so versatile, so talented, so humble, so philanthropic and just so lovely. They are everything we wanted in a group when we were young but had to wait a long time to find one, but are glad we have found them even now. Armies do you know how lucky you are to be able to grow old with them, I envy you.
So well said! Being 60 just this year, this is one of the biggest reasons I’m ARMY, because this group and each member are just decent human beings with a passion for music. They aren’t the typical music star of yesteryear and I really can’t think of one that did anything much FOR THE FANS. it was all about the money most of the time. These guys are the hardest worker performers I have ever seen! And what you said about the only band to make their fans better people… just totally on point. They are always encouraging and caring towards ARMY. And kindness is precious commodity these days. In my heart and mind these men are precious!

Army grandma here. In my 66 years of life I have never had an idol in the music scene. I’ve seen many musicians and actors that were fabulous but no one ever inspired me like these 7 Korean boys. I’ve been wanting to write RM a letter to thank him for his leadership, expressing my gratitude also to the other members. I remember when BTS announced taking a break from group activities at their 2022 festa and my heart dropped and I screamed in my head “No! I only had less than 1 year since I found you! I was heart broken. After a few days I started processing my emotions and thoughts and came up with solutions for myself to deal with what I thought was going to be a huge void. Well, BTS members proved me wrong in my feelings and thoughts. They planned and organized their “taking a break from group activities” so well that it amazed me. They worked so hard so that we wouldn’t be lonely by their absence as a group. They are so amazing to do this for us and always having army in the forefront of their hearts. I sorely miss them as a group but they didn’t leave us high and dry. The well is full. Thank you for this segment.

What has helped BTS is fans from USA and Europe. We never stop loving our performers and many are still rocking the stage in their 70's and they fill stadiums at that age! I am 59 almost 60 and have been following BTS since 2013, I found them about 3 months after their debut. I will be with them until either I go or they decide to put down the torch.
What artists need the most is a loyal fandom, not charting. BTS will always be my first and only group.

Exactly! International ARMY is the real key. We don't focus as hard on youth as we do on love and devotion. When we fall in love with a group like this it's for life and I will be ARMY until they put me in my grave. I'm from America and I fell in love with BTS's story they came from nothing so they were naturally humble. To see them start at the very bottom and become the biggest boyband in the world is a true rags to riches story. Their company was on the verge of bankruptcy and they made it with their hard work and talent. From BIG HIT to now forming HYBE is a crazy story.

You are one of the best narrators and story tellers I've ever seen. There are already a few college lectures about BTS (in future to be more, I'm sure). They seem to be aligned by the stars or at least some universal energy that holds things together. When I first saw them on SNL 5 years ago, I really was sitting on my couch waiting to die. But this story is familiar by now... the next morning I just wanted to know their names. And the more I knew the more I wanted to know. I grew up as the oldest of 7 children in one big Irish family and instead of seeing the differences in American culture and Asian culture all I saw were the similarities. I have no doubt that they will continue to bring a happy, peaceful aura into the lives of the people who can see them and feel the joy they seem destined to spread around the globe. They gave me the best hobby an old lady could wish for (making YT videos). I wish I was young enough to grow old with them... I'm 76 and I really want to be here when they come back in 2025. 🕊😇🌹💜

I agree with everything you said. I think that the industry was hoping that BTS's military service would weaken the bond between them and Army, and it hasn't. It has grown stronger. Now that we are in the count down period for the return of the 1st member, Jin, I anticipate a surge in Army activity and consumption everything BTS. Army is waiting eagerly and once Jin returns, the joy and the rallying behind BTS will bump up with every member that returns from the military service. I think this scares all of those that were hoping for an opening with their military service, and that is one of the reasons why we see such a bump of malicious rumors etc right before Jin's return.

The root of this problem is to destroy HYBE. What better way to do that is to attack the top-grossing artists of Big Hit/HYBE? As for copying what another group does, tell me what group doesn’t take part in what another does and incorporate it into what they do. I also highly doubt that a group like BTS needs to copy another group. I have not seen a group yet that can come close to what they do. As for the Cult issue, does anyone believe they are following some cult? Chart manipulation is a joke. The group that dominates everything they do has no reason to manipulate the charts.
I'm a Grandma Army and an old rocker. BTS really found me when I needed them the most. I wasn't even listening to music at the time because I was so depressed, but then they magically fell into my life with their music & stories of determination. They sang, rapped & danced their way right into my heart. I don't need or want another group & no one could ever replace them for me. They are so generous with their donations as well as their music & devotion to ARMY. They speak to teens as well as us “older teens” who are young at heart. Their music is so awesome their personalities and their interactions with one another warms my heart. Their devotion to each other and their fans and music is addictive. When they made the decisions to fulfill their duty other fandoms were all happy and I remember leaving a message saying you people had problems when they performed as a group. These boys are like power rangers together they are a force to reckon with what you gonna do when each does their own individual thing and darned if I wasn’t right. BTS is really different. I have never seen any boy band after The Beatles, that has this charisma worldwide. I consider myself lucky that I have known in my lifetime, The Beatles and now BTS. But I am more proud because they are from Asia., just like me. Just really excited for 2025, I want to see them perform again! 17 year old ARMY here. Not all of us are mad after their physical appearance only and make BTS our entire personalities! BTS is by far the best thing that has happened to me, I was highly suicidal and severely depressed and had anxiety. I still struggle with it, but when I heard the song Make It Right from their song Persona, it reduced me to tears. It seemed like a joy, almost a wonder to see someone wanting to set things right for me, just me, and I guess having dealt with loneliness for so long, it seemed to touch me. I have never cried over a piece of media as such, movies books or songs, so Make It Right is a song very special to me. Thank you BTS, I will stick by your side until I too, become a grandma! Thank you for saving me, there’s no one like you and there never will be. I will try my best to be an ARMY you can be proud of, and try to make it right in my life because I have your and other ARMYs support.

51 years old. Only now catching up on their story. Been watching docs and everything related for the past few months. I admire their power to work through all the hell they faced from their own industry. I respect them and their fans. The fans are their family and power. I respect that you. What an incredible story these young men have. I am proud of how their Army made an impenetrable wall around them and ensure their love will heal the wounds created by a corrupt industry. What a shame. Never have a known more about South Korea that i know now because of BTS. The country should appreciate them because their country ring on our ears because of BTS.
One of the main reasons I love these boys so much is that I came onto them in a very unconventional way. I saw their interactions with Army through social media and was fascinated. It was at least a month before I seriously even listened to a song. I especially hit Run BTS hard. Added to their impressive array of talents, they are all natural comedians. Well, maybe not RM lol.
So I became Army through their social presence alone. Meaning I saw each of their personalities play out over the years long before I ever listened to their music. The music was always an aside to me as I was a diehard metalhead (LOL). The boys and who they were, was always the most important to me. One day it struck me as odd that I hadn't listened to any of their music so I finally started digging though their impressive catalog. You can probably imagine my surprise when I heard how good their music was long after I had become Army of sorts. :)
Bts has a lot of metal head fans. Boracity magazine has a video about how bts are rockstars. That might give you some insight why you’d be drawn to them. I wasn’t a metal head, but I enjoy music with meaning or displays passion, that’s how I got drawn to their music

I'm 63 yo and extremely proud to be BTS ARMY forever. I started following them in 2014 and became Army 2015. They share their artistry and personal feelings with us. From business manners, performances, and their chaotic crazy humor. They actually care about their fans. They know how to make us happy in life, find joy in ourselves, to care about others. With true feelings, they laugh and cry with us as their music soothes your soul. They are like family, you protect family. 🙆♀️💜

This 74yr old BTS fan would be right here waiting for their return. I never in my wildest dreams would think that I would a boy band so much. Not only for their great talents and good looks but for their wholesomeness gives listening to music such joy. I love BTS

I'm an ARMY since 2022 so a lot of content to catch up on, but after 2 years being sleep deprived and glued to their music and other videos I know that when it comes to BTS you get only superlatives and exceptional substance. I read many of the comments and see my thoughts mirrored in them...BTS and the members are THE musician and THE humans we waited all our lives. Everyday heroes who I will admire and cherish wherever they are, whatever they decide to do in the future. I'll be there to support!
At 72 I am so proud of BTS. They have given me joy and great pleasure as I follow their journey having become an Army just 3 years ago. My first experience was Mic Drop followed by Black Swan, two very different performances, I was hooked. I love them to pieces.

I feel it also helped that each and every BTS member is well loved so they can release individual activities and do extremely well! Other groups might have only a few strong members who can succeed in being a solo artists while the rest of the members are not strong enough to uphold the group while on military. BTS is the exception!

I think they have become more handsome as they have aged. They have come into their own. They were not forced to appease their audience with s/exuslity. They won their fans over with good music, excellent performances and their charming personalities. They have accomplished so much because of their talent and hard work. Army will always stand with BTS because we are in a mutual love and respect relationship. We have cried and laughed together for many years now and we will walk through this life together. ApoBangpo.

I knew better and i only became a fan in 2020.
They filled even the smaller breaks and older fans talked about the great month break during their first contract renewal.
I have decided to have faith in them and they have proven that I don't have to be afraid.
I only became ARMY in January this year (after watching the Beyond the Star documentary), and initially I thought it was a blessing in disguise for me that they were all in the military, so I had some time to catch up on 10 years of content... WRONG! There has been no time to simply catch up because the content has not stopped! It's been 4 months and I feel like I've loved them a lifetime. Kpop fans are saying BTS and HYBE ruined kpop and its not like it used to be. But from day one they were always doing something against the kpop norm, they didn't take any oath to stick to and uphold kpop traditions.
They are also saying BTS is getting preferential treatment because how can they be releasing albums when they are enlisted. But obviously other companies just didn't look into the law and and policies to realize that they could actually do that. But BTS had the desire to leave content for their fans and so they looked into how to do that, legally.
Yes the accuses BTS and HYBE of breaking the law. Errm they aren't working while serving they made these things BEFORE their entry. Just like any other South Korean Artist who makes something and it' goes into a gallery to be sold it can be sold and that money is entered into their bank accounts. Just people do not understand they jump onto band wagons without fact checking or logical thinking. Or they do understand and just want to stir up hate and controversy. ugggh.

This was a perfect analysis of why BTS is exceptional. It's not just that they're all gorgeous, or talented, but they are sincerely, genuinely good people. They want to be their best selves and they want to inspire others to do the same. BTS would not be the same if they hadn't had the combination of personalities that they have. Each of the members are valuable to the whole as well as the company that they were raised in. Despite whatever criticisms they may receive due to perceived unfairness in one situation or another, the bottom line is that Bang PD nurtured these guys in a way that made them soar and Big Hit (long before they became Hybe) and their staff have loved and nurtured them as well. It definitely takes a village to raise a child and they really did have a pretty good village. They've had such a loving community around them that it's like despite having been so young when they started and being pulled from their families, they were raised with just as much love as if they were surrounded by family, which is why they've had such a tight knit bond. And the love they've received is the love they return to Army.
It has been easy and a pleasure to fall in love with these 7 guys. I appreciate that they are down to earth enough to let us into their lives and get to know their real personalities and really, what you see onstage is what you get behind the scenes. They care for each other; they sincerely care for their fans. They are thoughtful, generous and kind and they care about the details which is why they put together care packages for their fans while they were gone. Not because they were concentrating on staying relevant, they put together care packages because they were genuinely concerned about Army's well-being while they were gone. Just like they kept working through the pandemic not because they were busy trying to make a name for themselves, but because they were concerned with the well-being of Army's hearts and minds during a really challenging time. They could have taken a break and/or even gone into the military then to get it over with so that by the time the pandemic was over they would be pretty much done. But they kept delaying their deployments so that they could take care of Army before they left. I never had a doubt in my mind that Army would continue to love and support them through their enlistment. We are just giving back what they have given to us.
And yes, the haters can continue to hate, numbers can be doctored to seem like it's not that big a deal, but whatever happens it will never keep them down because they always rise above the pettiness. They have been so forgiving to those along the way who have dismissed them and now those very same people who gave them no credit are looking at them with stars in their eyes. They have set the example of how to "be a good human" (as Jimin likes to wear on his clothes quite often). They take nothing for granted and they have genuine gratitude for where they are. I was so incredibly concerned about their well-being and how they would be treated in the military and turns out my fears were unnecessary. They have worked hard and been the type of people that they are in their "day jobs" kind, considerate, generous and hardworking and they have endeared themselves to their fellow military personnel because of that. It's quite often that I hear or read of people saying, "I get it now. I see why they are so popular or so well loved." They are definitely the whole package, and I can't wait to see what they have in store once they come out of the military. But, before that, I hope they take a really nice, really private vacation first. LOL they definitely deserve it.

My cousin says, “ Don’t let Ann talk about BTS. She will be telling you each one’s life history five hours later.” I never cared enough about any other group to *know their life histories. But BTS lets us into their struggles as well as their fun.
We are a family of BTS lovers. Im the oldest at 61. And im proud of it. There's something beautiful and meaningful about our relationship with BTS. It's borne out of self love, respect and understanding others.

I agree that BTS has created a blueprint. But not too many artists can follow. One of the many things that sets them apart from others is their hard working nature, their resilience, and their love for each other and their fans. Yes other artists now see what they need to do, but not all have the mental strength to carry it out. It’s not all fun and games. It’s an exhausting, sometimes degrading (due to antis), grind….many will give up along the way. And not all groups enjoy being in the group. It only takes one person to call it quits and the whole thing crumbles. All the hate BTS went through when they were up and coming…many would have already given up at that time. Even now, they’re THE BIGGEST group in the world, you would think they’re so high up that they’re immune from naysayers, but look at what people are doing now to try and bring them down even though they are in the military serving their country. It’s actually crazy
Sincerity is hard to overcome. BTS sincerely love music, each other, and their fans.

There is no other group that I know of that has the popularity as BTS. Maybe the Beatles,(way back 65 years ago) They have lifted the bar so high no other groups will be able to catch up. As a group or as soloists,none can compare. I have been around since the 60's,seen alot of groups(some still around) ,but none has stuck out as much as BTS and ARMY. That relationship will go down in history for future generations to learn from.
