I'm a mobile tyre fitter in Merseyside, and deal with alot of RR wheels that lose air. The paint inside the rims flakes off or the rim starts to corrode, which then causes tiny air leaks. Get your tyre guy to remove the tyres from all the rims and get them cleaned up. Also ge them to replace the tyre valves, but to clean the area where the valve sits, as this can corrode and cause tiny air gaps too.
I used to have an old P38 but she was riddled with electrical problems. My mate took it to his college motor mechanics course and got the students to replace the entire wiring loom. After that she ran brilliantly. Needless to say once she was sorted my late wife fell in love with it lol. Guess who had to buy a new car lol. Loving this video mate 👍 Ps that is far too good to part out or scrap mate !!
Will be a good project for someone. It looks amazing after a good wash. Can't wait for the Motorhome video, it will be great to see it finished at last 👍
Use the Snowfoam first to soak in "dwell" so the detergents/surfactants etc do their stuff, instead of sitting on the "rinse" water. Then rinse/powerwash, then shampoo and rinse. Great job Rob, so satisfying seeing the transformation. Nice one.
Rob you got the 'saying' right so don't worry. We lost sight of you a few times I thought you might have taken the dog for a walk but then I realised that the car is taller than you! 'Good things come in. . .' Very well done and someone will love to own it and see the potential. Thanks for the video Rob and Louis.🐕👍👍
Outstanding effort Rob, just look how we'll that P38 has come up, I think the colour is Epsom Green, not much more work to make it mint but I totally get why your moving it on, the market is very strong atm for these. That's why we love this channel no nonsense just honest car graft. Cheers
Well done Rob you have cleaned that Range Rover to a good standard. The car looks like a different car now you would never know. Amazing work Rob i think you’ve washed this car really well and to a degree. You should be really pleased with your cleaning skills Rob. Keep it up Lads.
I don't think I've ever seen you get so excited about washing a car Rob!! Might be worth going over it with a clay bar, it's brilliant for getting contamination off paint.
I've really enjoyed this video, a great little birthday treat for myself. 😁 I've been looking forward to seeing it cleaned up. The paint looks great, and I can't get over how well the wheels came up. The crud on the bonnet may be tree sap from where it was sitting. Great work, Rob. 👍
There's something therapeutic about washing a car. However, Rob washing a Range Rover reminds us of the non-runner RR Sport and the Classic in the workshop awaiting your attention! Good video as usual Rob..
Great vid Rob, I have a feeling you'll do really well on it. 👍 There's a certain non-franchise Land Rover dealer not too far from me that has a P38 on their forecourt that doesn't hold a candle to yours - for £6500 !! There's looks like a bag of nails and the best part is, the faded or missing parts and trim, they'll have in stock to sort it . I just can't understand why they don't make the vehicle look as good as possible when they have the parts to hand to do so - especially when they're asking top dollar ! I also wonder who the muppets are who buy from them.
Hello Rob and Chris. What a difference a good wash makes. It will be a nice project for someone. Thank you for taking the time to upload another video. Ged
I was wondering what you two were going to do with this one.... Now I know! That is a great looking car and I think you are right to pass it on to somebody who can spend more time on it and restore it to pristine condition. Super video as always & keep up the top work!
That was really a diamond in the rough. I'm surprised it has needed so little after being laid up for so long but you definitely made the right call selling. It will really give someone a chance to get it how they want it and you'll have another space for more stock 🙂👌🏻
I had one once, that exact model. It broke down on the motorway and cost an arm and a leg to get it 220 miles home. The alternator had burnt out and in the process left me requiring a new alternator and a complete lock reprogramme. Why oh why did I get rid of it. I'd love another but sadly now I don't drive. Well done Rob. You'll soon be opening a car valeting service lol. Cheers, Bob
It's funny you saying this because my friend last year bought a brand new range Rover Sport hybrid and one morning he came out and it wouldn't unlock, turns out one of the batteries had gone dead, and the car forgot all keys and some ecu stuff to do with the battery. Was under warranty, as it would of been thousands to fix at the main dealers.
as it stands worth around 750, so if you really want it to go to someone who wants to drive it ask over 1500 or the breakers will have it and us P38 lovers will be another car down to buy, mine had a similar history, but was parked for 15years, n wouldn't part with it , good luck boys, love the channel
Car salesmen are hilarious- guy has sold a thousand cars in his life, yet everyone he has is loaded with superlatives- unbelievable, beautiful, fantastic, the best I have ever seen etc. etc., it's a litany of sales talk as natural as breathing.
Hello Rob, some effort with the cleaning of this car, hidden behind the dirt is a good vehical and a great project for some-one. Just to mention I brought a car through a main dealership, which looked like your LR as first seen! The dearlership gave the car a full valet inside and out, full service and three years warrentry with breakdown / recovery cover which will finish in November. Looks may be deceiving, but it is what you can see beyond, so dont judge a book by the cover, it's the contents what matters!! Very enjoyable video, and I am about to go out and give our car a clean!! Cheers from Lincolnshire.
Rob, as an owner of a P38 also here is a top tip mate never jet was the door shuts on the front drivers side as the becm is located below the drivers seat and any water or moisture here will cause chaos with the electrics. have a good un mate.
Come on guys we have waited over a year for the LSE, if you can't invest the time then flog it and use the he dosh to upgrade the paint booth or a decent ramp so you can get two cars on the go
Well that came up lovely 👍 That range rover with the 2.5 bmw engine is worth lowest a grand as it stands. A 39k miles same spec etc a year newer sold for 11k a month ago at a farmers auction in Scotland. Course it had full history etc and was mint. But I'd put it on as a auction and see what it gets. I'd say min grand all day. Great video keep up the hard work 💪 And that's tree sap on the bonnet. Thinners will get that off
It looks unreal from what it was. I think the plan you have for it now is the right and best plan. Can't wait to see all the other projects up next. Fantastic work and cheers for the video take care
Love the wash bucket labeled up for your business that's priceless, one great supplier. Look forward to the next reveal on this one. So will a mope job on the hood remove that hood crust?
when they`re that bad I always snowfoam, leave for 5, snowfoam again, then jetwash after 2 minutes, then snowfoam again before putting a mitt on it. Also, when theres moss on the scraper seals, I always aim the jetwash upwards, away from the seal, towards the glass, otherwise your pushing the moss & grit into the felt part of the seal, which puts stress on the motor & slowly scratches the glass, then, you space the glass away from the seal (with a flat trim clip remover) & aim the jetwash downwards & diagonally, into the seal, to get the dirt out from that felt edge. Why not stick it through an MOT, just to see?
Seen on an old forum the rattle is most likely the lower crank pulley, the rubber dampener falls apart and the two parts of the pulley knock together at idle. Hope this helps!
you can no longer get parts off lr for the p38 so i was told by lr if you do drop diesel or oil always put washing up liquid on it strait away and spred on it and leave 5 mins and rinse of with a power washer ,thank you for the video
Alright Rob, great video as always. You might wanna do a bit of (Paintless dent removal) PDR on that rear door dent. You can get a basic kit for about £30 alternatively get someone to do it, there a few of them out there and some of them have their own YT channels as well. Maybe you could host them on your show?
Love a P38 - miss mine and had all sorts of fun sorting it (had the dash out and a load of other jobs on it) - great cars for someone as you say who wants to get into classics, there's no end of things to do on them which is great if that's your kind of thing, I enjoyed working on mine
Hi Rob & Chris I would have loved to see av refurbish done on the motor but you have a business to run and completely understand what a sale as is will achieve. Good luck with that aspect. As we say it is a lovely motor for a good home. Keith
I love the p38 always have always will which is why I've got 3 of em 2 v8s an a diesel such good motors if they're looked after Love what you do Chris an rob what a team
I think Chris is right to want to concentrate on moving through the quick-fix cars and not get too bogged down with the likes of the stretch Range Rover but, as with all things, you need a mix.
I remember hand washing and hand polishing an Insignia I had once ( it was the end of the lease so time to cover any blemishes lol ) it was a warm humid day and even in the shade I was sweating - at one point I looked up and was dismayed to see I was only two thirds around the car doing the polishing - and they I had the window glass to do lol - what a day
Great job with cleaning this one up rob totally understand where you are both coming from that you don’t want too many long term projects looking forward to seeing some more on the lse
Great job Rob. If you ever want tips on washing and detailing cars look up AMMO NYC on RUclips. He can get proper ott but I've always watched his channel for guidance
Great work Rob. You worked hard on that. It’s come up lovely, and totally changes the look of the car. I’m sure someone will snap that off your hands no problem. Nice job old chap…
Looks great after the wash Rob 👍🏻 I got Jennychem 8 product selection not long ago after seeing it on the channel and can’t recommend their products enough. May need to order the SR package though to get that bucket! Great content as usual.
Should've got some caravan algae cleaner, don't know if they do that stuff but Autoglymm do a really good one. Just used it to clean a box trailer that hadn't been washed for about the same time parked in a damp corner, it was green!
Rob I'd say jennychem would have a product for taking that crud off the bonnet it's probably a combination of tree sap and bird 💩. Some of the cleaning product they gave you for the outside of the motor home might work on it but it probably needs a coating of fallout spray and then clay bar before machine polishing. A good project for somebody.
Brilliant guys love it what half decent range don’t blame you passing it on lovley good project for some one who don’t mind getting their hands dirty good solid project good on you boys for selling it on you got enough long term ones not to keep it 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽some one gonna love this
Well done 👏 on your valeting skills rob they are getting better all the time. Like the p 38 lovely old bus will be a future classic 👌 another old saying rob you might get better but you will not get cheaper 😉. Take care stay lucky and healthy and get the lambo wrapped up for the coming winter 😊

I remember when my parents used to have a P38-generation Range Rover when I was little. It was a 1999 Vogue model - if I remember correctly - finished in dark blue with cream leather interior…
thankyou Rob,been looking forward to this cleanup,, and wow what a result, looking forward to your next project whatever that maybe, have a good week,,👍👍

You know it's going to be a dirty job when Rob's got his work boots on rather than his snowy white trainers!
😆😆😆
Will be a good project for someone. It looks amazing after a good wash. Can't wait for the Motorhome video, it will be great to see it finished at last 👍
This deserves a second chance it’s an absolute classic.

Great result Rob would like to have seen the bonnet after a run over with the mop, hope you are feeling better Chris 👍🏻🏴
Well done Rob you have cleaned that Range Rover to a good standard. The car looks like a different car now you would never know. Amazing work Rob i think you’ve washed this car really well and to a degree. You should be really pleased with your cleaning skills Rob. Keep it up Lads.
The rattle on your p38 is the crank shaft pulley, needs replacement. I had the same noise on my p38
24:17 You actually said sill correctly 🎉 😎
I don't know why people say you are not good at cleaning cars, looks good to me. Happy to let you practice on my VW T5 camper if that helps.
I don't think I've ever seen you get so excited about washing a car Rob!! Might be worth going over it with a clay bar, it's brilliant for getting contamination off paint.

What a difference a good wash makes.
It will be a nice project for someone.

What was the black car with what looks like front end damage in the back ground ? at 7:01 ?
Volkswagen Polo have a look back around 3 weeks ago
Polo

Exactly, don't sell it too cheap or its parts!
Fair enough. At least you have saved it. Be nice to see some pics of it in a future video when whoever buys it finishes the restoration.
a good call rob, about right, your getting better at washing them !!
Good job Rob I might get u to clean mine next!! there's something very satisfying about cleaning up something old and making it look like it's new!
Car salesmen are hilarious- guy has sold a thousand cars in his life, yet everyone he has is loaded with superlatives- unbelievable, beautiful, fantastic, the best I have ever seen etc. etc., it's a litany of sales talk as natural as breathing.

I think this is the right call on this one, but will yous do a bit of work on the one behind you for over xmas bonus videos?
just imagine, on Christmas Day, waking up and finding an extended episode of the Range Rover rebuild...
Yeah but which Christmas? 😂
Rob, as an owner of a P38 also here is a top tip mate never jet was the door shuts on the front drivers side as the becm is located below the drivers seat and any water or moisture here will cause chaos with the electrics. have a good un mate.

My kind of video Rob!
I do this job day in day out !!
Big thanks to jenny chem !!!
Fantastic video yet again!!!
Enjoyable to watch !!
Clay bar the paint work Rob, buy the Maguires kit, well worth it, will probably work wonders on the bonnet too
looks lovely that so far guys .clean cars as you want Rob if your happy doing it your way stay with it keep it up lads
i am excited with this one guys.right call to move it on as is.
It looks unreal from what it was. I think the plan you have for it now is the right and best plan. Can't wait to see all the other projects up next. Fantastic work and cheers for the video take care

Yeah never put a cloth or mit on it until it’s been jet washed off, should of lowered the suspension too lol
you aim a jet wash inside the door? Have you seen how much electronics there is in side a p38 door? Maybe i misunderstood...
That’s tree Sap use tar and glue remover will fly off. Clay bar will work also with buffing after…
No music while washing. This is great
Hello Rob,nice results on cleaning this Range Rover, the products have worked great.it looks totally different.
It was great to see the difference after a wash, but just pipped by the GTI wash!
Love your videos. I don’t (and can’t) drive but find you so darn positively.. Thanks for the content.
Well done Rob it looks great a good machine polish will sort the bonnet out 👍🏻
It’s a 100 times better than it was! Well done 👏🏼 👏🏼👏🏼
The formula for the perfect number (P) of Range Rovers is: P= x + 1, where x equals how many you already have.
Seen on an old forum the rattle is most likely the lower crank pulley, the rubber dampener falls apart and the two parts of the pulley knock together at idle. Hope this helps!
It's amazing that a simple wash can transform a car after it's been sitting for 7 plus years
you can no longer get parts off lr for the p38 so i was told by lr if you do drop diesel or oil always put washing up liquid on it strait away and spred on it and leave 5 mins and rinse of with a power washer ,thank you for the video
That came up very well 👌 , good call now it’s running and clean pass it on good luck guys 👍👍🇬🇧
Alright Rob, great video as always. You might wanna do a bit of (Paintless dent removal) PDR on that rear door dent. Another 1st watch in 70 years video . Brilliant.
That's Monday finished. If I bring my Jazz over can you wash it should only take about 20 mins and no step ladder required. Great video lads

Its cleaned up really well, what a difference a bit tlc does.
Snow foam.....Love it 😊
Can't believe u managed to leave that motor not cleaned in your yard ,that would proper mess with me mojo 🤣,that came up so clean 👍
Rob - never leave a p38 running without opening a window before you close the door. They are a real pain if you lock the keys inside
Hi Rob & Chris I would have loved to see av refurbish done on the motor but you have a business to run and completely understand what a sale as is will achieve. Good luck with that aspect. As we say it is a lovely motor for a good home. Keith
That’s tree sap on the bonnet. It will come off rob 👍🏻
Try fall out remover on the bonnet should work getting rid of all the stuck on grime
I love the p38 always have always will which is why I've got 3 of em 2 v8s an a diesel such good motors if they're looked after
Love what you do Chris an rob what a team
Autoglym rapid detailer works well with that tree sap on the bonnet rob. Tried and tested!
I think that bonnet is tree sap should come off it’s looking good Rob 👍
I think Chris is right to want to concentrate on moving through the quick-fix cars and not get too bogged down with the likes of the stretch Range Rover but, as with all things, you need a mix.
I remember hand washing and hand polishing an Insignia I had once ( it was the end of the lease so time to cover any blemishes lol ) it was a warm humid day and even in the shade I was sweating - at one point I looked up and was dismayed to see I was only two thirds around the car doing the polishing - and they I had the window glass to do lol - what a day
Good choice letting it go as is , good luck 👍
Very enjoyable video. Thanks, Rob.
We've all be waiting for this
Let's hope it's not a disappointment guys 👍👍👍
Wow what a transformation. That wheel cleaner is amazing
Rob, you should try an auction for it, see what it goes for and record it maybe??
Great job with cleaning this one up rob totally understand where you are both coming from that you don’t want too many long term projects looking forward to seeing some more on the lse
Great job Rob. If you ever want tips on washing and detailing cars look up AMMO NYC on RUclips. He can get proper ott but I've always watched his channel for guidance
Great work Rob. You worked hard on that.
It’s come up lovely, and totally changes the look of the car.
I’m sure someone will snap that off your hands no problem.
Nice job old chap…
Is the noise the harmonic crank balancer pulley?
Nar its the reversing tube mate
@@grahamfoster9404 nah, it’s the clutch banger pal.
@@gdfggggg Ahh yea thats why it only does it at low revs. Cheers slash
Rob, when the snow foam has done it’s job. Wash it off and then use your shampoo.
Looks great after the wash Rob 👍🏻
I got Jennychem 8 product selection not long ago after seeing it on the channel and can’t recommend their products enough.
May need to order the SR package though to get that bucket!
Great content as usual.
Love these P38, someone will really enjoy taking it to the next level.
OMG I would love that mota , I love these and that is in gorgeous condition. Wow lovely.
The Range Rover P38 looks amazing after a good wash Rob!
Great video as always! :D
You earned your £20 there Rob! 😁
Brilliant guys love it what half decent range don’t blame you passing it on lovley good project for some one who don’t mind getting their hands dirty good solid project good on you boys for selling it on you got enough long term ones not to keep it 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽some one gonna love this
Great days work Rob, came up nice…. I understand why you’re moving it on, good base to start on the classic road. Keep ‘em coming
Hi Rob and Chris brilliant video rob you have done a brilliant job of cleaning the Range Rover love all your videos keep up the good work Bernard
Get some paint thinners or some hand sanitizer on the bonnet that's what I've used and it should clean up lovely on the bonnet
The P38 was never seen as the best RR but now is the up and coming classic. Whoever gets this one will have a lovely Rangey with a bit of love spent on it. I had a 4.6 Vogue and it behaved itself mainly with the exception of one day when the electrics had a wobble - and it was Friday 13th spookily!!!
I agree....they are just starting to turn a corner....obviously they won't ever fetch classic Range Rover money but nevertheless they are coming of age.
Had the same 4.6 as you - loved it and so much car for the money a couple of years ago, glad they are going back up in value as they are lovely to drive - still more refined and comfortable than 90% of the cars on the road - especially when you leave them on air!
18:23 try rub it off with clay-bar. UK's Bilt Hamber have 3 grades of it. 15 squids for 200g.
polish paint after.
I think the rattle at low rpm may be the crankshaft pulley. I hear they are known to separate over time.
I remember when my parents used to have a P38-generation Range Rover when I was little. It was a 1999 Vogue model - if I remember correctly - finished in dark blue with cream leather interior…
thankyou Rob,been looking forward to this cleanup,,
and wow what a result, looking forward to your next project whatever that maybe, have a good week,,👍👍
Would love to own this guys . However due to the impending ULEZ where i live just can't ( gutted ) . Anyway another great video , keep em coming guys ....
