I just bought this hattefjall recently and I kinda like it, the color and the design is just perfect, a lot of features that I can adjust, but honestly the feel when I seat in, its just okay. no more no less. The build quality is superb, I can't complain.
My experience: As a small person, I could cry over how many chairs I have tried, especially gaming chairs. I just sink in. Then I tried the Hattenfjäll and fell in love immediatelly. Maybe it is just me loving more stiff chairs cause this prevents me to sink in and slouch. Finally a chair in which I can sit straight and am FULLY supported. It forms around all my back to the legs and just locks me into a proper 90° working position. I use the leaning setting to stretch or to just dose off. Also sitting relaxed on it, is possible. (Currently sitting on it crosslegged) The adjustments are awesome. Sadly the chair nowadays costs 299€. IKEA is robbing people cause 3 years back it costed 215€.
Thanks heaps for sharing!! Your comment will help others who check out this video for sure 😊 I also love that I can sit on the chair cross legged!..and yikes! That is a major price jump
Nice review! I just recently bought this chair and I agree, I like that it's heavy and has a firm seat. I got the version with the arm rests, and I must say, this chair is so versatile. The seat moves forward and back, the back moves up and down, the arm rests go up and down and also forward and back. I really love it, it makes me more productive and also has great lumbar support.
nice review. I'm not sure if you noticed, but you can also adjust the back height. It locks in increments at 5 positions as you lift it up. Then when it gets to the top position and you lift it up again, it will drop down to the lowest position. This is useful to adjust the perfect position for the lumbar support.
Oh thanks so much!! Would've been good for me to know and mention in this video lol. But hopefully people will see your comment and realize the chair can be adjusted that way too! 😁 I'll adjust my chair and see if I prefer any of the other settings ☺️
I have this chair. It really suits me and I find it very comfortable. That being said, I can understand why some people are split on whether it suits them or not. I know i'm going to state the obvious here but I'd definitely advise to try this out in store. Who knows, you might love it like me.
Most comfortable chair! But I couldn’t figure out how to get it to rock back, that’s how I found your video! Thank you! Ran right upstairs and fixed it.
Hello! Thanks for the review 🙂 Could you please share your experience about those side bumps? Are they getting in the way when you sit? I am hesitant because I think those bumps might get in a way for a quick sit sideways 🤔
Hi! Thanks for checking out my video ☺️ I wouldn't say they get in the way of when I sit, I also sit cross legged on the chair often and its still comfortable. I don't usually sit sideways cause I just swivel the chair around, but I just tried it out for a few min and it's not too bad, I sat back so my knees bent over the raised side and I also let my legs slide on either side of the side bump. (Hope that makes sense 😅) It's not majorly uncomfortable, but I wouldn't want to sit like that for more than 5/10min, hope that helps ☺️
Hai!! Sorry for the late reply I was away from home and wanted to check when I got back 😅 so it looks like the chair can't be locked in a lean back position, but you can scoot the bottom part of the chair forward to increase the distance between the bottom and back part of the chair. This way you can kinda lean back a bit more, but ye the back part can only be locked in vertical position. You can see the scooting of the bottom part of the chair in this video at the 45 second mark: ruclips.net/video/xTKwMhw0fyU/видео.html . 😊 And thanks for your comment about my aura ! Hehe it's a first 😁
I'd return that for another one, or get a refund. When I first put mine together I thought the same but I was just using the lever on the wrong side 😆 but ye if yours isn't working defs return it/ask for a new one.
Hi, would this chair work for a tall person? 6 ft tall here and severely confused with buying a chair... Deciding between this the markus and sihoo m18 m57. Thanks!
Couldn't tell you for sure since I'm not 6 foot, but I think it would be? I can adjust the chair so that my feet barely touch the ground so ..that could be a good sign lol. I'd recommend going to Ikea and trying it out tho to be sure.
@@kulsoom thank you for your response! Thing is I'm moving houses and i have no time to go to the store, get lost and decide so I'm just ordering for delivery :< hope it fits me
Hi! I had a look and the cushion part of the chair can be lifted up but not fully detached. There are some zips along the edges of the chair fabric, but doesn't seem to be removable 🤔 so I guess if I dropped something I gotta just wipe it with the fabric on the chair
@@kulsoom I have bent over backwards trying to find one for hattefjall, but to no avail. Their customer service suck, and the newer version of this doesn't have the option to sell an armrest seperately.
Hi, hand rests are an optional addition. Pretty sure the only colour option is white and it looks good with the grey chair I reckon. I decided not to get them tho 1. Because it costs more lol and 2. Because I don't like it when the arm rests get in the way of pushing my chair under the table. The good thing is tho that if I change my mind, I can always buy the hand rests later. But I'm good for now.
Haha ikr! I was shocked when I realized how heavy it was lol but the one good thing I noticed about it was that the weight made it less likely to roll around unnecessarily which can happen with rolly chairs on tiled surfaces
It’s not heavy, it just has safety locks on the wheels so they won’t roll unless you’re sitting in the chair (I don’t know why ikea thinks this safety feature is necessary though as it makes the chair very difficult to push under your desk when you’re not in it). There are videos on how to modify the wheels so they roll freely as well.
I bought this chair today. After assembling I noticed that seat depth is not getting adjusted... There is a handle on the Left hand side, and I can just move this handle up and down but seat depth is not getting adjusted.
Hi I'm not at my chair right now, but I'm pretty sure it's the lever on the right side that adjusts the height of the chair and also locks/unlocks the tilt option. The lever on left is used for adjusting the distance between the base and back of the chair.
Hii! Nah haven't gotten back pain from the chair thankfully! But do sometimes wish the seat cushion was softer. When I want something softer I move onto my couch with my laptop, and when I feel like watching tv in a firmer chair I use this one, its still chill cause I can sit cross legged in it too
@@kulsoom Hi! Thanks for your reply! I just got mine today and now I'm sitting cross-legged on it while texting this (even with the armrests installed 😅) I really like the back of the chair, but have to switch position in every 20-30 mins to avoid the pain. Thanks again for the review!
Ye the firmness of the seat is definitely not for everyone 😅 and aw thank you! I've had a couple low self-esteem days recently so that's nice to read lol 🥲☺️
@@kulsoom Has the fabric started sagging yet? It's very common in the Markus seat which makes it look cheap after a few months Wicked times for us all; more sunlight, physical activity, and LESS social media will definitely remedy that 🚶♀️

Oh no :( that's sucks! Ye when I was reading reviews the few that didn't like the chair didn't appreciate the firmness of it. It's definitely not for everyone. I'm generally a slouchy person so I find the firmness helps keep my posture in check 😅 glad you were able to sell it tho! You also could've returned it, Ikea has a 365 day return policy, that's what I did when I realised the table I got wasn't right for me, got a refund and used it to buy another Ikea table 😁 I mention in my Hilver/Anfallare Ikea table video.
Ooft 😣 annoying! It's a bit silly for Ikea to charge to return an online purchased item.. considering people are more likely to return something they weren't able to try out in store. 🤔
