I would be interested in hearing your opinion of the Sidiz T50. I recently switched to it from a DXRacer and I am quite pleased. I think it would fall into the B category of your list. Any chance of reviewing it?
I definitely agree with no S tier. I watched all of your chair reviews and then decided to take a risk on a Hag Sofi Mesh and like it generally speaking. I'd be curious how it goes through your analysis, but here's my thoughts: It's definitely not perfect, as the seat pan adjustment changes the balance point of the chair so you have to make an unexpected trade off there. It is really comfy, good for upright work and alright for lounging (no recline lock unfortunately), looks really nice. I almost never use the arm rests but they can slide down and back so I never know they're there until I occasionally do want them. And the build quality is 10/10. I would recommend but I don't think I'd buy it again. Would rather get something cheaper if it's not an S tier chair anyways, I think I could find a different set of compromises that I'd be happy with.
@@adriangodoy4610 true but at least with the Aeron there are 3 sizes. They make a difference. After I lost 80 lbs (36 kg), the size C pellicle fabric was too firm, and I switched to B.
@@davidc2072 I was referring to normal companies that buy chairs, I've seen a company with aeron all of them size B. So although herman miller gives options, the companies buying them doesn't. It feels strange because if a company buys aeron they already are looking for good chairs

I just bought a Volvo S60 passenger seat at the local scrap yard for 20 bucks and put it on the base of my old office chair. Best decision I made. Real leather, real lumbar support... I even can wire up the heating part if I want to :)
we have a company in Ukraine that makes such chairs of any car model, they tho seem to prefer to go with more expensive brands of cars, and yeh it has a heater and all office chair perks, also massage. Can be pricey though :( BMW M8 with heater-cooler-massage-built in chargeable battery is up to 2500 usd :(
@@guser436 it's a legit solution though, oem car seats (not race bucket seats) are designed to be sat in for hours, are very solid and have a lot of material while being available for cheap in scrapyards, but they're usually fairly heavy and not designed to sit on a single point of contact with the ground
Much better than the bullshit overpriced Herman Miller and Steelcase chairs that charge ungodly amounts for shitty plastic chairs that don't even come with a fucking headrest.
@@ignis2982 I like my gaming chair. I sit at my desk 8+ hours a day almost everyday and as long as you know how to position the lumbar pillow you'll be comfy, with good posture, and get up feeling normal. As normal as 8-10 hours of sitting can feel at least, which is why it's good to work out. I'm 5'9 at 135. I've even fallen asleep on it a couple times. On the contrary, I hate mesh chairs for many reasons. Though, I understand I'm in the few who actually find these chairs comfy and get a lot out of it, especially for the price.
Comments: I've only ever sat in a racing chair since the day I was born and I like them, therefore they must be the best most comfortable chairs out there!
I literally was in the first 0:40 second of the video and was stunned by all the production - nice music, graphics it looks and sounds so good. Thank you for the list!
@@joshb7415 Which is why you don't stand still and instead move your body. Also, there is a difference between sitting infront of your computer 8-12 hours a day versus taking a rest which the "tribal" people do.
Possibly more accurately, "Humans should rotate what they are sitting on throughout the day and also stand for periods of time, not just pick one chair and sit in it for 8 hours"....At this point I'm considering a chair, a stool and a ball or some other alternative form.
@@Mumaakil The only way that is achievable is by splicing multiple chairs together lol, because each one has its set of pros and cons. I do have a S tier chair, but my expectations and needs aren't exactly common.

@@Marsdend1 I’ve got an autonomous ergo 2 with the head and foot rest. Amazing chair and the BEST I’ve ever sat on. But, the arm rests aren’t adjustable and they can get annoying when you’re looking to “lounge” However for work, they’re amazing. And even great for lounging, not gonna lie. I’m considering getting cushions for the armrests but who knows
I give a slight advantage to the Aeron for the ability to buy it used from office going out of business sales, and office supply stores for a significant discount over msrp. I am personally able to lounge on it, but only with a foot rest and or pushing off a wall. I think it’s between A and B tier for me.
Just went through the ordeal of getting the wrong chair. And I thought I was being the only picky one. Thank god for you video, it validates everything I am picky about
do you think the hyken will last long? I am thinking of getting it. sat down in it at my workplace and it felt good. just a bit worried about the durability
@@King-zo4vv Had it for ~3 years now, at the very front of the seat there's a bar of foam cushion, the right side of that foam cushion is starting to come loose and occasionally I'd have to push it back into it's slot. I could probably use some sort of adhesive to secure it but haven't tried it yet. Additionally I've noticed that it's REALLY easy for the chair to collect dust under the mesh, and it's a pain in the ass to clean it out without a air compressor. That being said it's been a great chair for me for the past 3 years, and if you're coming from any regular chair it is definitely a noticeable upgrade.
Ive been researching desk chairs 4 months as the dinner table chair for my home desk is starting to be not real comfortable for long focused sessions. This is exactly wanted I needed, thank you.
Being the same build and having similar preferences as you, this review is very helpful. Never seen such flexible chairs you placed in A tier. Definitely taking a look at those options.
@@Duocek I ended up going with something completely off this list. The Staples: Dexley Ergonomic Mesh Swivel Task Chair It's affordable, has room for leg crossing, and comes with a headrest.
The video is interesting, but I think it would be great to make a video where the TIERS are price brackets, because if a chair is great but at 1500 €, is it really 5x better than a chair at 300 €?
I couldnt find the range in Australia a few years ago. I replaced a herman miller with an hours rated high back office chair ($500 AU). Comfier because i slouch & lean back after work, watching youtube. The thing is NOT to get those cheap chinese ebay office or gaming chairs.

It might be because I live in the southern US, but I absolutely can not sit in a foam chair when it's 98F and 100% humidity. The Aeron has unparalleled temperature comfort. Also, the the arms are the best I've had the pleasure of using.
After trying all the different high-end Herman Millers, I definitely like the Aeron the most - the way the mesh is structured just fits and accommodates my weirdly proportioned body better than anything else. I have a slightly short leg (by about 8-9mm) and the resulting tilt in my hip resulting in an uneven weight distribution both when standing and sitting, and somewhat-off curvature of my spine, mean that I often get specific hot spots which after (admittedly brief) testing, the Aeron seems to alleviate very niecly. The Mirra feels like an amazing chair also, but it's definitely meant for people with a straighter back than I have (the right side of my back is shifted slightly back - it's invisible, but you feel it when resting "flat" against something that assumes a "normal" back). I love the customisable placement of the back support, and the chair just generally feels way more high quality and comfortable than you'd expect from the plastic-y look of back rest. The Embody's upper back support is something super unique and I think many, many people will love this one. It's got all the perks of what a gaming or "executive" chair wish they did (and market themselves to have), and the weird "spine" on its back really does help a lot with back support. I just prefer the mesh of the Aeron for aforementioned reasons. For taller people and anyone wanting the best version of the gamer/racing/"executive" vibe and styling, this is definitely the one - I think it's got wide marketable appeal and I'm honestly surprised to have seen next to nobody talking about it online, especially considering the recent popularity of gaming chairs, when this is just the straight up upgrade and ultimate evolution (in a really, really good way). Now if only I had the money to go after any of these at the moment.. considering to get another mesh chair as a stop gap while slowly putting toward an Aeron - the Komene mesh chair included in Gamers' Nexus' video about gaming chair alternatives looks like something I'd love to try, especially at the price of 240€ via Amazon over here. Definitely tempted to give that one a try, since financing a 1600€ payment for a fully kitted-out Aeron is probably not a great idea right now with other things in my life that also need taking care of. (For context, I currently have an Ikea Markus but the seat pan is just a bit too deep for me, I hate the arm rests but want some on my chair, and I want to switch to a headrest-less design for putting up/tying my hair in the summer without losing the ability to rest my back comfortably and recline into my chair. General comfort is good since I got a footrest to alleviate the seat pan complaints, but the arm rests and headrest issues of course persist. That, and I just really enjoyed testing out different mesh chairs, and like mentioned before, the Aeron's specific way of supporting my body feels tailor-made which is just such a premium experience. Plus, no sticky thighs in the summer with mesh - huge benefit when working from home in a country where home AC is incredibly rare.)
I have both an Aeron and an Embody - the former at my office, the latter at my home office. I'd second the feeling that the Aeron is more specific-task oriented while the Embody is more "general use". The real downside to the Embody is that my cat loves it and has shredded the fabric to destruction 😂
i went to the steelcase showroom to test out both gesture and leap. sitting experience are very similar on both but gesture has more adjustability on the arm and looks way better. the head rest is good but i think it could be better though. anyway i have using a gesture with the headrest for a year now, most comfy chair i have ever owned. make sure you put into consideration of how warm/cool your room is when picking the fabric. some of them are just way too hot for summer but they will keep you warm in the winter.
I bought the Steelcase Leap when Covid forced me to work from home. I have chronic lower back problems, but I'm comfortable sitting in this chair all day
I really like the Herman Miller Verus, it's HM's cheapest chair but very good. The mesh back is so comfortable and springy. You can cross your legs on it too and it's got lots of adjustability.
I tried the Hyken at the store several months ago but it was too small for me so I ended up getting the slightly larger Dexley. I'm sure glad that I did cause I like the larger headrest. I got it for $150 only and it's comfy all day long. I think both of our chairs should be higher ranked just based on the price factor too. He was giving chairs over $1,000 and A. I think our chairs is a solid B or A but not a that's for sure. He did only tested the Hyken at the store though but I wonder why he didn't with the Dexley as they are similar and everything.
Guy sat in a chair at a staples store for five seconds. My review D tier. I use the Hyken and it's great. The headrest is kinda poorly designed for tall people but you can mod it so it's flipped and doesn't dig into your shoulders.
Also, Markus is INCREDIBLY sturdy. I've had one for 7 years and it's still in perfect conditions. The padding is good, lumbar support and everything. Nice budget option
Great video. I switched from a gaming chair to a Gesture 6 months ago and it’s been nice. Your video comparing it to the Leap helped me make up my mind. Keep up the good work!
@@csi2448 I’m 5’6”, and have the Gesture model with headrest. Overall it fits me pretty well. If I were a little shorter though the headrest might be a little cumbersome. For someone taller I feel the headrest would work pretty well and offer good support. It’s the most adjustable headrest I’ve used on any office chair.
David is the ultimate curator of technology and peripherals. David's insights have saved me from buying throw-away items and focus on products providing long-term value. FYI: My Steelcase Leap has served me well and is one of the best chairs you can buy. All day comfort with zero back discomfort.
I've suffered from slipped discs and lower back issues... ever since I bought my Herman Miller Aeron i have had ZERO issues. This is the best chair I've ever sat in. It's a size C. Im 6'0" and 215 lbs
Is your shoulder width squarish/wide? I’m the exact same height and around 30 pounds lighter. If our body shapes are similar, that would go a long way to helping me figure out if this is the chair for me.
I have two aeron chairs at home. Brilliant, comfortable chairs. I've had them for years and have never had any problem, besides for the faux leather being like catnip for two cats in a row, so that now the arm rests are just foam, no leather. Still so comfortable that I have no desire to replace them. Love these chairs.
The tip at the end is great. Just throwing my two cents in for anyone who needs a bit more research, I have a lesser known chair called the Oak Hollows Aloria. It's absolutely incredible for someone of my height + build being both 6'2 and big boned, it has enough adjustability and space for me to even put my legs up like if I were sitting in a dispatcher chair or leather armchair. I'd put this thing as an easy A tier for myself as it has both helped me with back pain and is suitably comfortable due to it having pretty strong resistance when leaning and how it fits my body type really well. However, if you're a shorter person or are lankier in stature, this chair is a nightmare, even on the lowest possible setting with the smaller sized gas cylinder, this thing was taller than my last chair at max height. It goes so tall that if I used the standard cylinder and put it up as high as it could go, my feet would be dangling off the ground. The resistance is also a problem if your body isn't the right size to "doorstop" it from springing back because the push back makes it difficult to just lean comfortably as you'll have to constantly be at war against it to get it to sit still without using the locking mechanism. Like David said, try before you buy and keep. I would also like to add that you shouldn't be worried about being picky for a nice office chair. Think about it, you're gonna be sitting in this thing for the next 3-5+ years, if it ain't comfortable and it causes problems, don't suck it up and "deal with it" cause doing that will lead to back problems in the future. Also, remember to stand up and give yourself a good stretch now and then!
After doing a 'sit-test' at Herman Miller retailer, I agree that the Mirra 2 is underrated. I tried all their chairs and liked it more than the Aeron for task work and gaming positions. Still, the Embody ended up being my choice.
@@Nigel__ The shape of the seat for the Embody allows you to move around, cross your legs; and do whatever whereas the Mirra 2 [comfortably] wanted to keep you in a more ergonomic, forward-facing position (probably better for office work than lounging/gaming). I also preferred the feel of the material when sitting down for 8+ hours, though both were comfortable. The Mirra 2 had more comfortable arm rests from what I remember. Honestly, if I were buying it for my work then I may have preferred the Mirra 2, as I liked it just as much, or possibly more than the Aeron. If you have a Herman Miller Store OR Dealer within an hour drive I'd recommend you schedule a 'sit test' to try them for yourself.
Was going to say this too. I went and sat in every Herman Miller chair that a local retailer had, and found the Mirra 2 really fit my body and sitting style. I've since purchased 2. It's the most comfortable chair I've ever sat in personally. If you plan on spending good money on a chair, sitting in it first is a requirement IMO. Also there's nothing about the chair that feels/looks cheap when you see it in person. Was surprised to hear that in the video :)
I have the Ikea Markus chair with a leather bottom. I bought it two years ago and do not really regret it. The only thing for me is I've had it long enough that I have gotten used to it, and find it to be a little to comfortable at times. I fall asleep in it a lot. I am ready to move onto a chair that I can be a little more productive in, lol. I would recommend it for an everyday chair. Very good build quality in my opinion.
The problems with the Markus is the lumbar support and seat height. I'm 5'6 and the lumbar support digs in to the middle of my back and it only just about goes low enough for my feet to be flat on the floor.
I was ready to pull the trigger on an Aeron. Went to the store to give it one last try. Just for fun, I also sat down in the Cosm. Boom. That was it for me. The Cosm only has one adjustment: height. Everything else, the chair decides for you. It just so happens that all those "decisions" are perfect for me. I got the high back version. I've had it for a couple of years and I use it for many hours each day. It looks cool and never causes me any problems. It just stays out of the way. The sales person said people either love or hate that one ... so I recommend finding out which category you belong to.
Recently bit the bullet and bought herman miller mirra 2. My lower back pain has vanished 90%, no more leg pain. no more that feeling of blood pooling in my feet & legs. Can be adjust to the smallest detail. Best purchase ever.
Remember, your milage may vary depending on your body type. I'm on the bigger, taller side (220+ lbs, 6'2) and when I compared the Ikea Markus vs the Jarvfjallet in an Ikea store, I found the Jarvfjallet to be more comfortable, even though it ranked lower on this tier list. It's currently the chair I use now.
I love my Steelcase Gesture with Headrest at home so much that I got a second one for my office. I sat in my first one so much (seriously, so very much) that the seat started to wear down... and Steelcase shipped me a brand new chair to replace it and all I had to do was use that shipping box to send the other one back to them. I specifically got this model because I have a neck problem, and I haven't regretted this chair model for a second.
The office i used to work on had the HM Aeron. I now work from home for another company and to say I miss them is an understatement 😢 I never got a single back cramp with those chairs and now my neck be hurting everyday
I'm 30+ and sit in a chair for many hours a day and use a dx racer since ~3 years. I don't get the hate about it. Since I got it I sit right up, all my neck, back etc. issues are gone and I feel great.
This guys video is silently making million views. And he is gone for months, did anyone ask where he is or how he is? I wish he came back and make us smile again, hope you doing good in life brother.
Your reviews always seems honest and you focus on meaningful things instead of what manufacturers advertise. Thanks, your videos have been really helpful when I have been updating my setup. I just changed my old gaming chair to used Martela Logic 400 chair. Still getting used to it, because it is much more firm and less relaxed than my old chair, but I do get much better posture with it. I hope my back will get used to it eventually, because finding a good chair is extremely hard and expensive. It shouldn't be.
THIS IS THE VIDEO I NEEDED! Got a Herman Miller (refurbished): Please note you can buy parts and repair/replace these yourself which makes it worth in the long run.
I had a significant amount of experience with my work office Aeron. I never quite liked it but I had no choice. For home office setup I went with the Steelecase Gesture + headrest. I have not regret it. Excellent chair.
I own the autonomous Kinn Chair ( I am 300 lbs and 6'4) for the last year and I have some qualms with what David mentioned I found it disappointing that he gave this E tier since I thought it was at least C. I actually personally enjoy the lack of cushion on the bottom seat. Someone that has already some nice cushion on their butt, I find that really any cushion is too much. I never got the whole part when he said it was a bumpy seat though since I can never feel the bumpiness of the seat. There are little wrinkles that developed in the mesh part on the seat but it doesn't apply any textural difference to the seating experience. I must say that he is correct on the lack of lumbar support sometimes, especially when you're slouching. This chair really kind of forces you to sit up all the time which could be good or bad, depends on what you want. While it does hurt to say sometimes, people my size also have a hard time fitting their more wider waists inside of a chair. The Kinn chair can fit my wide bum pretty well with no issues. The time to actually get this was unfortunately when it was 100$ cheaper, before the rebrand. I got it before the rebrand and while it was black Friday so I ended up spending 412$ (with taxes and shipping). What I was actually most impressed by was their customer service. I went to their website, sent a picture since my caster wheels wouldn't move due to dog hair getting into it. and they sent me a whole new set of casters along with another gas spring free of charge, and within a couple days of shipping. I think the shipping time was fast due to me living close by their main warehouse in California but they at least gave a tracking number within a day. I think that good customer service is usually overlooked in many RUclips reviews since they don't have to ever live that reality. If you got to the rest of this comment, Thanks for reading!
Tbh, it's his own personal tier list and very subjective. I agree with most of his placements, but there are some I heavily disagree with. I was also surprised to see the Ergochair Pro+ end up in a lower tier than the SL Titan, I would place it in the B/C tier tbh.
WOW, props for making an honest critique of the high budget chairs. I too find them good, to great, to meh again, depending on the task. I need a good tilt/swivel chair for rocking and slouching but the only high quality one seems to be Steelcase Siento - I haven't sat in it and therefore have no opinion on it.
As an owner of 2-3 years of personal experience on the Titan Large chair, I would personally say C tier over D. I think first time impression could possibly lead to D for many reasons, but I CANNOT fathom another chair with the same lounging potential. I can cross my legs on it, lean it back, slouch, put more bottom padding like a seat cushion from purple or another for more comfort, there's enough space behind you too place some small back pillows if you want adjustability. It sounds like a lot of praise but honestly I would still say C tier over all. Mine is an older model and my issues have been addressed in recent years because the PU leather will eventually start peeling (mine took a lil less than 3 years) and the arm rests can get wobbly if u get an older model. I would recommend the MESH chairs of them however. Again this is probably still a C tier, and you might find something better for lounging/office use. But it's not a bad chair unlike most racing gaming chairs.
Great video! I'm leaning towards SteelCase and directly ordering from them. Thoughts being they have a 30 day return period, with free return pick up. Herman Miller may be comparable, but everything I'm seeing is leading me between the Leap and the Gesture. Hopefully one day we'll both find our "S" tier chair!
just gonna throw my experience out there. I've a Secret Lab Titan for almost a year. It still looks as good as it did on day one, no sign of wear, and it's plenty comfortable. I can sit in it for 8 hours and be perfectly fine. I love it. It's a bit expensive but so far it's worth it
Couldn't agree more. I've had plenty of budget faux leather esque chairs over the past 20 years that all fall apart in 6 months or are uncomfortable. The Titan (in leather) was game changing for me - many hours long sessions then I'd care to admit and a year 2 (I think) years later, still looks and feels brand new. Wish this wasn't lumped into the "gamer chair" category so much, it's exceptional despite the cost.
for real, I love my Hyken, it's like sitting on a cloud, and I don't get swamp ass from it, sorry but I disagree, How is he gonna put the marcus above the Hyken Lol
Mirra is so underrated. Can easily be picked up for under $200 and IMO is more comfortable than the Aeron classic with much better lumbar support. Only thing you are losing out on is headrest options
Steelcase gesure here. Had it for a few years, and its been incredible. If you have the budget, try the A-tier rank. Its worth the extra money. I get zero fatigue using this chair over hours and hours.
"I have only sat in the Secretlab Titan for a minute in the store... D tier." "This Ikea chair is cheap and kinda sucks... C tier." What a quality review this is. *sarcasm off*
I love ur videos men!. Always speaking calmly and really objetive. This is a video that i'll send to all my friends. The Racing Chairs are overpriced and a lot of them not comfortable at all.
Your description of the Aeron proves why it is the undisputed king of chairs for solving lower back pain. It forces you to sit properly, and while it might feel strange at first because you're used to turning your spine into a spaghetti noodle, after a month of sitting it feels like your favorite pair of sweatpants, and your lower back no longer hurts. 90s babies, we're entering back pain age. Invest in your health and comfort. The thing is also basically bombproof. I've had mine for a year and sit in it 2-12 hours a day, and I could roll it out onto a showfloor and sell it as brand new. I imagine I'll have to leave it to somebody in my will because it will outlast me.
Still the Aeron for me, I had a bunch of back problems and blood flow issues in my legs all of which disappeared since I started using the Aeron. Still the best chair for my back that I've ever used.
The challenge with Hayworth, Allsteel, Teknion, etc is that for the most part, they don't do retail sales, and are often only sold to dealers, who are designed to service companies, not individuals. Many won't even deliver to an address that doesn't accommodate a full size semi trailer, and either a dock or a forklift on-site to unload. Paying a warehouse to receive, assemble and deliver can add another $200 to the cost of a chair.
After using wooden dining chair with a pillow as back-support for almost 2 years. Getting a mesh office chair feels like a godsend. Buy it people, it might be expensive but it is very much worth it and your body (especially your back) will thank you
This is one tier list I've been longing to see from you, and you delivered. Thank you David. P.S: Hopefully you can include the Autonomous ErgoChair 2 (now rebranded as ErgoChair Pro) in a future review, as it is the more popular choice among the rest. I've personally owned mine for quite a while and I might list it as in between B and A tier.
Their warranty is abysmal. If I only had a $500 budget and didn’t want a used chair, I’d go with the BTOD Akira over it since they are about the same price
I’m content with the Hag for office work, because I think it does help with my back problems. I am also curious about other ones, but I believe it is miles better than all the IKEA options.
The overlap of the vertebrae transforms the spine into a dynamic tower, whose stability must be achieved with active anchors. A stiff seat prevents the legs from moving and keeping the spine in balance, and when you get tired, the back looks for support points, collapsing into the back or elbows.
Doesn't have to be mesh, a good cloth chair like Steelcase leap is extremely durable as well. Just for the love of god stay away from all those leathery comfy looking "executive" chairs and such. They all start deteriorating after a year. Cloth or mesh forever.
Just get a HM Aeron. You can probably find a used one for under 500 on Craigslist,fb marketplace, or offer up. They last 20 years plus and are the go to chair for anyone in the know.
Great video, David! Keep it up. It seemed like your latest monitor setup is a single ~40 inch 16:9 screen (correct me if I'm wrong). How are you liking it productivity wise? How do you feel it compares to separated screen real estate that multiple monitors bring? There's tools that help you split Windows into zones but it's never the same. Thanks for the video!

Kinnarps capella or plus

I just bought a Volvo S60 passenger seat at the local scrap yard for 20 bucks and put it on the base of my old office chair. Best decision I made. Real leather, real lumbar support... I even can wire up the heating part if I want to :)
now that's a big brain move
Is it from the 1st generation S60? I have that car so was wondering
that's crazy, I love it!
we have a company in Ukraine that makes such chairs of any car model, they tho seem to prefer to go with more expensive brands of cars, and yeh it has a heater and all office chair perks, also massage.
Thank you for putting racing chairs at e tier. I couldn't agree more.

The fact that no chair got rated S-tier makes me believe humans aren't supposed to sit down. I'll keep that with me :)
The invisible chair for standing desks: S tier
standing desks make all chairs go up one rank
@@joshb7415 Which is why you don't stand still and instead move your body. Also, there is a difference between sitting infront of your computer 8-12 hours a day versus taking a rest which the "tribal" people do.
Possibly more accurately, "Humans should rotate what they are sitting on throughout the day and also stand for periods of time, not just pick one chair and sit in it for 8 hours"....At this point I'm considering a chair, a stool and a ball or some other alternative form.
humans can sit down just need a comfy chair to do it properly. it’s the same case for resting humans aren’t suppose to be actively moving 24/7

But, the arm rests aren’t adjustable and they can get annoying when you’re looking to “lounge”
However for work, they’re amazing.
Never in my life did I think I needed a video for an office chair but here I am. Well done!
Just went through the ordeal of getting the wrong chair. And I thought I was being the only picky one. Thank god for you video, it validates everything I am picky about
Just got a Hyken and even though it is not a premium office chair, it is an immediately noticable upgrade from any normal chair
do you think the hyken will last long?

Agree 100% with the ones I have experience with. Recently tried a Herman miller aeron vs steelcase gesture and the gesture won by a large margin

It might be because I live in the southern US, but I absolutely can not sit in a foam chair when it's 98F and 100% humidity. The Aeron has unparalleled temperature comfort. Also, the the arms are the best I've had the pleasure of using.
Calm voice, slick presentation. Thanks, all of them are out of budget for most in India😂
My favorite mix. I love calm voices that aren't "quiet".
You have an 8mm leg?
Beast
I have both an Aeron and an Embody - the former at my office, the latter at my home office.
I'd second the feeling that the Aeron is more specific-task oriented while the Embody is more "general use". The real downside to the Embody is that my cat loves it and has shredded the fabric to destruction 😂
Aerons are like $300 used, eg, Facebook marketplace

i went to the steelcase showroom to test out both gesture and leap. sitting experience are very similar on both but gesture has more adjustability on the arm and looks way better. the head rest is good but i think it could be better though. anyway i have using a gesture with the headrest for a year now, most comfy chair i have ever owned. make sure you put into consideration of how warm/cool your room is when picking the fabric. some of them are just way too hot for summer but they will keep you warm in the winter.
I appreciate your honesty. No bs, not long winded, hence I subbed.
I have a Hyken myself and I'm personally pretty fond of it. I think I was able to get it on sale for about $125 and I'm a big fan of how it feels.
I just wish there would be an alternative for these armrests…
This man has gone almost a full year without updating his "dream minimal aesthetic setup". Congratulations.
Great video. I switched from a gaming chair to a Gesture 6 months ago and it’s been nice. Your video comparing it to the Leap helped me make up my mind. Keep up the good work!
What's your height? I'm 6'2 and after sitting in one for a while, I felt the back might not be tall enough
I’m curious as to why you chose the Embody over the Mirra 2. I’m having the hardest time deciding on a chair.
Loved this, I hope you keep trying new chairs and adding them to the tier list.
It's currently the chair I use now.
do you still recomend, im 6'5. Or other recomendations?
I discovered a new part of youtube, this video is so clean that I can use it to sanitize my eyes
I specifically got this model because I have a neck problem, and I haven't regretted this chair model for a second.

legend has it he'll post again one day
I own the autonomous Kinn Chair ( I am 300 lbs and 6'4) for the last year and I have some qualms with what David mentioned
I found it disappointing that he gave this E tier since I thought it was at least C.
Finally. Someone who fits my build who can give me advice. Everybody else who I've seen do this seems to be a solid 4 or 5 inches taller than me.
0:14 Wow that describes me perfectly. I am literally the same height and I also cross my legs, shift a lot, and hate arm rests.

I've tried a few on your list. Give the RH Logic 400 a try if you can get it. Might make your S tier as armrests are removable.
Would you consider looking at Haworth in the future? It's not the best chair ever but I do enjoy the Fern.
Wondering where the Humanscale Freedom with headrest stands in this rank.
where has he been?
I got into his Twitter and Insta, nothing new there as well :((..
Why is this so calming to watch
After using wooden dining chair with a pillow as back-support for almost 2 years. Getting a mesh office chair feels like a godsend. Buy it people, it might be expensive but it is very much worth it and your body (especially your back) will thank you
I remember watching the Markus review ages ago
This is one tier list I've been longing to see from you, and you delivered. Thank you David.
P.S: Hopefully you can include the Autonomous ErgoChair 2 (now rebranded as ErgoChair Pro) in a future review, as it is the more popular choice among the rest. I've personally owned mine for quite a while and I might list it as in between B and A tier.
Their warranty is abysmal. If I only had a $500 budget and didn’t want a used chair, I’d go with the BTOD Akira over it since they are about the same price
Loved the video! I´m looking for a new chair, so my question is which chair do you recomend, The Herman Miller Cosm(High back) or the Secretlab Neue?
I’m content with the Hag for office work, because I think it does help with my back problems. I am also curious about other ones, but I believe it is miles better than all the IKEA options.
The overlap of the vertebrae transforms the spine into a dynamic tower, whose stability must be achieved with active anchors. A stiff seat prevents the legs from moving and keeping the spine in balance, and when you get tired, the back looks for support points, collapsing into the back or elbows.
I need a good mesh chair, every other one I get peels off or rips apart from sweat and moving over time, im sick of it.
Doesn't have to be mesh, a good cloth chair like Steelcase leap is extremely durable as well. Just for the love of god stay away from all those leathery comfy looking "executive" chairs and such. They all start deteriorating after a year. Cloth or mesh forever.
@@JustWolt good idea i might try cloth. Ive never had one.
Just get a HM Aeron. You can probably find a used one for under 500 on Craigslist,fb marketplace, or offer up. They last 20 years plus and are the go to chair for anyone in the know.
@@chazzbranigaan9354 i sit cross legged alot so i don’t think that would fit me good.
@@Zenny9 ah true thats his main complaint about it as well, best of luck to you
Great video, David!
I started at Zoo Tier List and ended up with Office Chair Tier List, still great content
I love how he uses his chairs exactly like me. Opting out of arm rests and moving a lot in his chair. Is this common? I never heard anyone else opting out of arm rests.
Most FPS players tuck in their chairs and rest their arms on the table.
Best tier list ever. He didn’t try to appease anyone. Purely subjective
