whoever is mixing these videos, you're appreciated. the attention to detail is nuts. the panning of the kit changing with the camera angles does not go unseen. not all heroes wear capes.
I'm lucky enough to know Keith, live close and had a tour of the factory, and what instantly gets you is their passion for the instrument! Everyone who works there absolutely lives and loves drums!! Such amazing drums.
Absolutely love the quality and attention to detail! Plus, it's a pleasure to be playing such a fine and unique kit (Founder's Reserve Legend Birch in Indian Applewood)! Thank you Max and the gang for all your help in my recent purchase!
Firstly, the chrome on these drums is outstanding! Secondly, I prefer the sound of the Lounge Series but the hardware of the Legend Series. Thanks for putting this together.
My jaw was on my living room floor for most of this video. It was difficult to breathe, but I died and went to Heaven... soooooo! Seriously, though. I can't believe how amazing all these kits sound!
...very limited, theres only 1...🤣. Nice to see/hear t new faces strut their stuff. T 'lounge' kit with just t room mics sounded amazing. Now, heres a kings ransom, a dollar. Thank u DCP. 🍻
To all those asking about the mix. A lot of the sound your hearing is actually the room. Big open rooms like that record drums well. I garuntee if they recorded them in a small dead room they would sound wwaayyy different. The room is everything with drums. That said they tune well and they all play fairly well which helps. Great drums from BDC. Basically premier revamped. But better. Kieth at BDC designed a snare years ago called the BEAST that was absolutely insane. Back when with Premier. Keep the great vids coming. Always wonder though why BDC uses birch almost exclusively with the kits.
There probably some of the finest drums out there.BDC is quality, these people are serious drum builders for sure.I hope to own a set in the near future.
Now this is quite a journey of purely fantastic British Drums that sound so very, very pleasing; and if ears could taste and talk, they'd say YUMMY! The attention to detail makes these Drums very special indeed. Whomever is fortunate enough to score one of these kits, I predict, will cherish them forever! They are beautiful inside and out, from edge to edge.... WoW! Thanks and Blessings Shane!
I owned five of their snare drums.... absolutely BEST-IN-CLASS... the finishes are truly mouth watering to behold... I'm not playing the drums anymore otherwise I would happily still own all of those five snare drums!
I first took note of this company when I bought my last used Tama Starclassic Bubinga set from Adrian Erlandsson in April of 2022. He had recently made the change and he showed me his newest kit in his home studio. I didn’t ask him to play them (it was early on Saturday morning and he’d only had a little sleep.) What I noticed was the quality of craftsmanship of the drums. I still haven’t played any British Drum Company products in person, but hope to soon. Thanks for another great review.
their logo and badge look nothing like dw drums. nothing on their drums look like dw drums. even their drum shells are nothing like dw drums. they are cold pressed and undersized.
@@DesignRhythmNot sure where you see any similarities with the DW logo. That logo and badge is one of the most tricked out and bad ass on the market. The meticulous attention to detail is impressive.
@@DesignRhythm I see absolutely no resemblance to DW Drums in any way with British Drum Co. If anything, I think they are paying some homage to Premier Drums but in a completely unique and respectful way, not ripping off or copying any drum company. I have seen the drums in person at DCP and they are unique and beautifully constructed. I wish I could justify getting a set for myself.
For a limited time, buy the kit and get a year supply of Taylors of Harrogate Yorkshire Tea and a custom Tea set with serving cart. Pinky out of course.
Just when you think there is no way to add to, or change the game in drum manufacturing, along comes British Drum company proving that statement wrong. I'm impressed, really nice drums that are unique and different, all in a good way. I think there's no better time than right now to be a drummer with all the different offerings, and prices available today.
Weeell, ! , I'm not really a drummer ,(well I "think" I'm not) but do really I mean rally like the LOUNGE Series , colour of the wood , tone , nice small, full sounding setup ,juust love it .
i would also like to give The British Drum Company some props for outfitting Mr. Ian Mosley (marillion), the single biggest influence on my musical evolution, when Tama basically treated him like a nobody.
I love the homage to the HM Royal Navy with the Portsmouth snare, using Oak as the material as Portsmouth is one of the main naval dockyards in the UK. The wood really looks like it has been to be part of one the wooden ships like HMS Victory
I have the raven snare , I’ve owned all the good ones and this one holds its own on the sonic front and the build is nothing I’ve ever seen before , the inside is as nice at the outside 😂plus the lugs are just class , say no more , Jon , uk
Wow! The Founder's Reserve Cherry is a fabulous looking kit! Not that I could afford it (I'm too old now anyway), but I wish they'd done the same finish on the snare.
Hay I'm from Dorchester MA, I resent the comment! Lol! But those drums sound fantastic! Can't wait to check out your store when I got some money to spend. You guys do a great job!
I just got done checking out the Legend Ultra 3pc. in Silverstone from the "Friday Fill" 03/02/24. Good lord man... these guys are like American Top 40 with Kasey Kasem because the hits just keep on coming. That is some SERIOUS eye candy. BDC is the only company I've ever seen that can make a "Duco"-style finish look not only great, but actually desirable. That's no small feat in MY case because I've never been into that at all. Every time I see good pictures of their drums it just drives home my belief that BDC is to this era of drum building what Sonor was from the mid to late 80's.
Hi thanks for all that u guys do videos , review I admire the work and knowledge u have . I have heard many reviews on different drum kits from different companies but these are the first drums that sound amazing with mics or without , maybe it's just me but I love them. Founders Recerve cherry .Thanks
I am so glad you didn"t choose those god awful AA Meinl cymbals to go with this demonstration. Those drums and cymbal combinations work and sound fantastic.
These drums are the best around for all round sound and tone, and quality of build in my humble opinion. I am the proud owner of a Legend birch series in burnt walnut and it sounds awesome. Every time I play a gig other drummers come up and ask about the drums, and comment how great they sound!
I owned two sets of Premier Drums, "British" made! A 1970 set of Birch, 9"x14" yes NINE INCH, 16"x16" and a 22"x16" the second set was a 1972 Premier 3 ply African Mahogany shell drums, with Beechwood glue rings, that were Very Thick!! 9"x13", 16"x16",and a 22"x16. The go too snare was a RARE 9"x13" all brass shell, with an inner ply shell of Birch wood! They had also made a "Rock 9" snare that was 9"x14" either all Brass shell, or a Brass Shell with the Birch inner ply. These snare drums were comparable to no other snare i had ever had. If you can find a Premier all brass shell with the inner Birch plied shell BUY IT! They were made in the 1970's, possibly into the early 1980's
To be fair, I'd never heard of them until what I'll call is a DW style kit showed up in Fields Of Rock Superior Drummer 3 library. I really love the sound of the kit they sampled, and this has that very same vibe. Really great sounding drums.
I was made aware of The British Drum Company by a review you guys did a couple years ago. I was really impressed by their sound. You guys should check out A&F Drums. My friend Jamie Wollam (Tears for Fears) recently moved over to A&F after using DW for almost his entire career. These A&F drums sound HUGE!! Cheers, ~M
😂I haven’t even gotten through this video, I stopped at “Dowehchestahh” and had to pause for 😂. Also, I’m really digging the British Drum Co. snares which I first got to try out courtesy of Andy at Drum Supply in East Nashville. Would love to check out a kit some day. Hope to finally stop into the shop sometime sooner than later too. 🙌

Aww shucks. Thx man.
Agree they do it perfectly
Thanks Heber! While I do the mixing, I can’t take credit for the panning, that part is Adam in the video edit 🤘
Absofreakinglutely! The editing/mixing is mint!
Can someone help me with micing drums
The kit which tickled my ears the most today was the Mahogany Birch Lounge Series
Big shout out to the SNARE drums!!!!!!!
Wow, the are all fantastic
DORRCHESTER KILLER SOUND
Beautiful sounding and looking drums! I’m so glad England is making kickass drums again.
And I am glad France is making ASBA drums! ☺️

Always grateful for DCP videos. Top Shelf as always.

Love my Legend kit! Played it for the first time Sunday afternoon and the tone is absolutely stellar.
I bought a Legend kit in 2021. It's awesome and records really nicely! Enjoy
They're real. And they're fabulous.
Firstly, the chrome on these drums is outstanding! Secondly, I prefer the sound of the Lounge Series but the hardware of the Legend Series. Thanks for putting this together.

The tone, fit and finish are just amazing! Thanks Portsmouth Drum Center for showcasing these amazing kits!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
The lounge series is a serious sleeper. The specs are perfect and the sound is the right blend of vintage voicing with modern cut and control
TOTALLY Agree! Combined with the "Soft Snare", hands down sweet tone.
Agreed. Certainly spoke to me. Looks amazing too.

They definitely pack a punch!👊🤘
I bought this exact kit a few months ago and I still can’t believe how good they sound.
Great tone and attention to details. Thanks for the video.
Agreed and thank you Paul!
I LOVE a birch shell 💯

WONDERFUL!! 🥁🥁🥁
The British Drum Company is only 45 minutes from where I live, I really should pay them a vist :)
The softy snare drum was a surprise for me. I thought it sounded really nice, as well as the lounge series kit. Very nice drums indeed.
I've got one, and it's a beaut. I have mine tuned med high and just love the sound I've found.
Daaaaamn!! These kits sound fantastic. Whoever tuned them is a master.

I actually laughed out loud when you played the video of Dorchester, MA
I owned five of their snare drums.... absolutely BEST-IN-CLASS... the finishes are truly mouth watering to behold... I'm not playing the drums anymore otherwise I would happily still own all of those five snare drums!
So I play guitar but I can't tell you how much I appreciate what you drummers do and I got to tell you that these sound great.

Amazing what this company has done for being in existence for only seven years. That Aviator snare drum is especially outstanding.
But they couldn't come up with an original logo/badge?
Seems like a rip off of DW, just like Tik Tok.
their logo and badge look nothing like dw drums. nothing on their drums look like dw drums. even their drum shells are nothing like dw drums. they are cold pressed and undersized.

@@stromghouls It's the same rounded style as the "D" in DW, except the musical note silhouette is pointing down.
The founders cherry kit is awesome!! Sounds great and looks great too !! Probably one of the best kits I’ve heard!!!👍👍👍🤘🤘
Maaaaaaannnnn.... that lounge kit!❤❤
Right? We are loving the Lounge series kits!
It’s easy to see and hear the quality of craftsmanship of these different drums 🥁🔥
These drums are singing!
Beautiful drums; superb drummers
Thanks you Charles!
Awesome Presentation Guys !
Beautiful Drums inside and out!
All sound Amazing!
So far all the snares have sounded amazing and I’m only a few in. The passion is clear.
That 4 piece Lounge kit is definitely my cup of tea 👍🏻but all of them are gorgeous.. amazing finishing, and I love the art-deco tuning lugs!

All kits sound great... The Maple sounds huge
That kick on reserve cherry kit sounds similar to mapex saturn kicks, but the whole kit sounds perfect, that's my favourite from these
i am surprised and kind of shocked at how good that portsmouth snare drum sound. and i like that cherry kit.
Awesome and my faves are the birch!

They sound like drums, wow 🤪
I guess you gotta be a drummer to know the difference. 🤷🏻♂️
^ this ^
Great sounds and production quality as always. Even the panning of the audio changes & matches with the video angles.
Thanks so much Matthias, it is all in the details, just like with these drums!
that Reserve Maple was SOOOOOO deliciously sweet.... ssssryupy goodness
Such an incredible sounding kit!
So many great drums out there
Very cool video, and nice to see Jamie and Max getting to join in the fun!
They couldn't hide forever!

@@JG-nx3jg 🤣🤣 Many times, and it depends, the older parts are lovely, but the town centre is a bit run down.

Wow, the toms on the Legend birch almost sound like single headers! Phil Collins would approve!
Amazing! Great editing, great sound, great playing.
Thanks so much Brent!
That Founders Reserve Maple sounds incredible.
Wow! The Founder's Reserve Cherry is a fabulous looking kit! Not that I could afford it (I'm too old now anyway), but I wish they'd done the same finish on the snare.
The Founders Reserve Maple sounds so round and full, those floor toms are deep but smooth at the same time, really impressed.
Right out of the gate that second drum set sounded amazing!
damn that birch fusion kit was like all PUNCH!
