My wife and I were at DCP back in June and when we saw a British drum kit set up on the second floor, she was so stunned by its visual beauty that she told me I should buy it. When was the last time your wife told you that you should buy a drum set? What better compliment regarding the visual beauty and quality of their drums can you give than that? And they sound just as great.
Good God these drums sound utterly amazing!! Have followed Al Murray, one of the founding members of BDC since he used to write for Rhythm magazine in the 80's. He's a great drummer, very passionate about drums and also very funny. Along with Keith and other amazing craftsmen, the progress made in a few years is awesome. Being a small time club drummer I would actually be scared to gig these drums as I've found damage is inevitable and unavoidable no matter how much you try and protect your gear but the sound and look of them blows me away! Great video again from you guys at DCP, really enjoy this channel 😄👍👍
Yet another stunning video on an amazing range of drums from BDC…. Which are truly stunning in both sound and especially DONington finish (as in the racetrack/ Donington monsters of rock festival… which was and is now renamed/named Download festival in the uk😉). Your videos are just so informative as well (loved the cymbals as well😎) the best drum demo videos on RUclips by miles🙌🏻
The dcp editors are the best. Instead of editing out a tutorial with a stick drop, they literally highlight it and put a funny sound over it. Hilarious and amazing.
The Donington kit sounds so good as a rock/ country kit. That is my choice of the bunch. I’m especially drawn to larger shell sizes in smaller number of pieces. So long as it sounds impeccable and looks refined. Craftsmanship matters and these kits are next level.
I will stick by my original thought the first time I ever laid eyes on a BDC kit.the attention to detail, the quality, and the sound is over the top compared to today's standards. This is a very serious company, these folks know how to build top flight drums.
What Keith and the people at BDC are crafting is beyond everything I ever experienced in 30 years of drumming. It's incredible how much love and passion someone can put into an instrument. I love it!
Lovely. I took the cheapest entry route to BDC ownership and bought a Raven snare after watching your review. The attention to detail is fantastic, it sounds and looks gorgeous

My personal favorite parts of the video you may also enjoy 7:13 [nice save Tony] as well as 7:53 and about 10:49 I will highlight as a warning to not be drinking any soda when you watch this part otherwise you may shoot it out of your nose. This company really is making some killer drums and you can hear the difference in these kits, the resonance and punch of every single piece of the kit are really a step up from other companies, folks at British remind me alot of a higher end Canopus which in my mind is kind of bonkers. Great video as always. Cliffy T.

I own a Signia kit and it looks stunning, sounds amazing, is easy to tune and it's the best kit I ever owned! Best part, you can get them for a very decent price. If it had said Ludwig or Gretch you'd pay five times as much for them and in my opinion not as good sound.
Also live techs love them! I have been laughed at so many times having live techs saying shit like "you play Premier!? Don't they sound like cardboard boxes?". After 2 seconds of playing them they're blown away by the sound of them.
@@Musiknird I agree, I haven't seen one since the 90's, but I have fond memories, I'd put them right up there with Sonor Hi-Lites from the same era. Though if I were to find a Sonor in great shape, I'd probably go for it first, and Premier second...
You are 100% correct, I too love Premier Signia Maple and Marquis drum sets, the Signia Maple snare drums with the marching style batter hoop are just absolutely THE best sounding snare I've ever owned and I own a few classic snare drums from the golden era's of recording studio classics. I could pick and choose all day when it comes to drums but when forced to, my number one is Premier Signia Maple, Every single time! When I listen to Radiohead Ok Computer, Selway drawing the sound from those drums, well it just doesn't get any better, unless I'm doing it myself, of course! So yes!! 100% agreed 👍
The attention to quality is amazing, really love the "Founders ebony kit" love the sizes and tiger stripe look. They sound great, fat and warm. The "Legend ultra" comes at a very close 2nd place, but really hard to choose.
Unbelievable quality from such a new company. I'm more than intrigued. Here in Hawaii, it will probably be quite some time before I get to see our hear any of these in person. Maybe I'll have to pick up one of their snares just to get a hands on. Speaking of newer drum companies, have you guys checked out any Ocho Catorce drums yet? I believe they're from Argentina. Absolutely stunning looks, and I wonder about the build quality. I'd love to hear what you guys at DCP think of them. Anyway, thanks for another great video. It's always a great way to start a weekend. Aloha!

I bought a new kit just before Christmas. I had heard about TheBritish Drum company and I liked the idea of supporting a British manufacturer. I spent ages on the Internet and on the phone and couldn’t find anyone who had a kit anywhere. The only thing I could find were a few snare drums. One guy in a shop listed as a ‘stockist’ gave me the impression you pretty much have to contact them direct, tell them what you want and then wait 6 months. I tried emailing them, but they never got back to me. In the end I bought DW.
I love the attention to detail and the little 'extras'. Actually in comparison to other manufacturers top of the line kits the prices are not that bad. I need to make a trip to NH..... :🙂
Awesome review as usual..Great drums, not sure I liked the sound of the second drumkit with that head selection though and the last one, ufffff, makes me want to sell my DW's and go after one of those. A little observation, the cymbals on the last one, were hard to hear as the overhead mics seemed to be lower in volume, might want to do a separate review for the cymbals, surely they sound great but again, hard to hear them. Just my 2 cents.
Nice video guys. I think it would cool if you would say how you tuned the drums when you do the videos. Not necessarily the exact pitch but how you tuned the top had compared to the bottom. Not only with the toms, but the snare as well. To me, it would give the customer an idea of where to start if they purchase one of the kits. I'm sure you don't tune identical sized toms and snares the same for each video, because I know that simply doesn't work, so i think it would be a bonus to the consumer. Just a thought.
These drums are absolutely gorgeous in their details and finishes. The sound…not as stellar. Cymbals were great. Not saying they’re bad drums, I just don’t hear a massive improvement over others who aren’t boutique or “small batch.” Maybe they sound better in person. I dunno. Always look forward to your videos, though. Excellent quality, and the humor is just right.
Founders 7 piece by a good margin for me. The other ones sound really good but they sound typical. That 7 piece has a very musical quality nice overtones. I get you're probably tuning them differently but still...they have a resonance I prefer in drums to the more typical "tubby" sound of the other two. Still...they're all amazing. And those Japanese cymbals...wow....those sound great.
