Totally. He is great. He writes and plays very memorable and important drum parts. People can say what they want about his technical skills...but Metallica sound good, don't they? He is the perfect drummer for their band. To drums, he is essentially what Johnny Ramone was to guitar. People forget that the song is the most important thing. Serve the song. It isn't about how many strokes or fancy techniques you can pull off during a fill or groove..it is about how you serve the song...and Lars does that perfectly.

I remember when I buy my drum set as a teenager, it was a black and white like the one he played in the Black Album tour. Mine was a cheap chinese drum set but I was happy asf and the first song I learned was "For whom the bell tolls".
When I listened the "And Justice For All" album I was very impressed and teached myself to play every song. I've been a fan of Lars and Metallica since 15 years ago when I was a teenager and I will listen to them till the day I die.

And during Danny Carey's kit rundown he kept on sucking up to danny for no reason and when danny was talking about the song "chocolate chip trip" David for some reason said, "is that another thing we have in common, we both liek chocolate chip cookies" he sounded like a teenager trying to find things they and their crush have in common.
