Soon there wont be many. Watched Korn and BTH on the same fest. Got me to appreciate the master level of Korn and the fact that they are not many live bands anymore
Yes!! But then needs to check every single cymbal what type and size it is. Felt strange for someone playing drums for a living and using the same brands for more than two decades
@@Jaap-RelouI just commented about this, it’s just because like…he’s burdened with an overwhelmingly large ballsack full of mojo. He doesn’t give a single fuck as long as his tech sets him up with shiny Zildjians, his OCDP kit, and remo heads. He’s not there to geek out about the sizes and models of everything.
@@zildjiancabs. In the song, My Generation, Fred Durst introduces John Otto and says 'take em to the Matthews Bridge'. The Matthews Bridge is a spot in Jacksonville, FL where people have been known to commit suicide.
John otto has the tighest fills and ghost notes i ever heard since i was a kid his drumming is the most unique style i ever heard. Literally his sound is my idol on drums.
Great run through, and kind of simple rules : big drums, cutting cymbals. On their own, I thought the A Customs sounded a bit too bright, but in the full band mix they sat perfectly to give accents. I love the fact you showed both just John playing alone and then with the band, shows us drummers that what we hear behind the kit is not what people in the audience hear.
Big fan of John's. Love to see him still killing it and much healthier than a few years ago. Great job by David nerding out on every aspect of the kit!
He looks better now than he did back in the late 90s, early 2000s. Absolute legendary status and overcome some demons. This guy never stops. He's the reason I got into drumming. Heard no one else like him. Respect forever!
I saw LB at their first stop in Somerset, WI back in July. Such a good time, great crowd, band sounded fantastic. Couldn't have asked for a better time. The LB redemption arc is great, everyone seems to be a in great spot and just enjoying life.
John Otto looks great / like a boxer now that he's lost the weight and is all leen and ripped. Very happy to see Limp Bizkit back on top again. They deserve it! Continued success to Limp Bizkit... Cheers! \m/\m/
I was hoping he would've touched on that insanely awesome Gibraltar rack set up! Still have nothing but love and deep respect for John. A huge HUGE influence! What a legend!
John's been one of my favorite drummers for almost 25 years, one of my biggest influences. I've never put his kit under a microscope, but there are some unique parts of his setup I'm seeing now that I unknowingly copied, lol. 3 Splashes over the hats, 4 or more crashes, sittin' low, shorty high hat rod, side snare, etc. Great minds? or something...?
Met John Ottos sister at Ventura Music Hall in Ventura CA. She works there, super nice person 🤘🏽. ARTS CORNER CAFE across the street has the best breakfast!!! Especially if you’re a band on tour and want real food. Good ol town vibes
What an underrated drummer. His grooves are fantastic
thankyou for takin us to the mathews bridge all these years!!!
I still tap that groove 25 years later. Legend.
Came looking for this comment 😂
“We’re a completely live band”. Speaking the truth! LB baby!
Soon there wont be many. Watched Korn and BTH on the same fest. Got me to appreciate the master level of Korn and the fact that they are not many live bands anymore
Damn John, lost tons of weight. Looking healthy.
Looks like he's bout to get swol too lol
He’s been going to the Matthew’s Bridge!!!
I was just thinking that
I was thinking the same thing. He looks healthier and happier now.
He needs to get DJ Lethal on that program
Using basically the same drums and cymbals setup since the 90’s. Love it!

@@1dudecrush tbh that's wassup,
The snare is not the same.
Kind of, in 2003 during the Results May Vary cycle he had 2 bass drums and a few more drums and cymbals.
John taught me how to play drums some 33 years ago, thanks, John, I'm still going strong and playing drums for a punk band!!!
I have always loved Limp Bizkit's rhythm section. John and Sam have a great chemistry!
Cousin chemistry.
One of the most underrated drummers ever. Glad to see him looking healthy. 🤘
Underrated, I don't think so
he is very average... just a little bit better than lars
@@Martee234🤡
You people have made that word COMPLETELY meaningless.
@@Martee234 Agreed, in general very simple and dull playing
Take us to the Matthews bridge.
What is the Matthews bridge meaning bro?

@@DayZero2112 oh so sad for that bridge but thanks for the info. Bro
13" hats are totally underrated. Been playing them for over 20 yrs and they've never let me down.
John lost the weight the old school way! 6 day a week workout routine! He told me himself. No Ozempic no Starving himself… Proud to call him a friend
“Trust me bro”
