Lot of people don’t realize chris warren is basically the hidden 5th member of the chili peppers, he started with them as a roadie and became their main aux instrumentalist for their shows. He’s been a performing member of the band for like twenty years.

I was Drum Tech for Justin Brown, drummer for Thundercat when they supported The Chillis on their European tour in 2022. Chris was so lovely to me. Very friendly, open to chat n advise. Was a pleasure to see him n Chad play every night, as Chad is my hero. Chris is a legend.

I have seen the Chili Peppers live last year with Chad playing this exact kit and it was probably the best live drum sound in a rock context that I have ever heard🤞🏻 That snare projected like crazy

I’ve seldom cared about the looks of a kit before, but this gem had me waxing nostalgic. Everything-the whole package-makes me feel like I’m back in my grandmothers spice cabinet. Cinnamon, cumin, and of course chilies!

North was a manufacturer that made drums like that - I remember seeing kits where all the toms were that way and it looked like a horn section. Brain mixed in one or two of them with one of the kits he used for Primus in Europe.

Very COOL, When I was a starter on the sticks , One of my full kit was a full Stacko drum set , one base drum , it was white and black exterior , loudest set I had in the early 80's, lol. 👏👏🇨🇦🇨🇦

Wow what a beautiful drum set
Still have my older Pearl Maple/Mahogany kit. It's the perfect wood combination. Gives just a little added low end without being too overbearing to the maple. Pearl was smart enough to discontinue it, and make it part of their custom line, to my dismay. Beautiful kit! Glad to see chad go with Paiste as well. The Signature and Modern Essentials line is exquisite.

I love the Red Hot chili peppers always have and always will the drum kit looks incredible beautiful piece of artwork that's actually a badass functional Kick-Ass machine!!!! I bought used from a friend 1985 Tama Superstar double bass kit a long time ago. The kicks are heavy to carry around and I usually only used one when I was playing out. Of course double pedal my point being 24’ kick is my favorite size!

I clearly see a super kick bass drum head. It's funny because he's a Remo endorser. Just like that tale of how he always used an old gretsch snare in the studio and actually hated his old pearl signature snare.
That means the super kick really is special

For those non musicians that might be watching! Having a tech this good is like being Batman and having Alfred! Hopefully that was a good analogy!
He kinda looks like Chad when he's playing. The arm motions and such 👍👍👌👌I don't understand why Chris had to dismantle the hardware and find a metal plater himself. Neil Peart had custom hardware plating for his kits. I doubt Neil's drum tech had to find a custom plater independent of DW for those kits. If anybody from DW sees this, feel free to comment. I'd be interested to know more about it.

That's a beauty kit. There's lots of options out there, but dw seems to always be ahead of the pack with their finishes.

Bow Wow Wow had the elbo macaroni drum set in the 80s.
That odd drum is based on Staccato which were fibreglass and made in the UK. They were based on the US made North drums which Billy Cobham used in the 70s. Think the Doobie Brothers had them as well.
I want to hear that Nord Drum played by him. :)

DPA 4099 on toms, Telefunken M81 on snare tops it looks like, no clue for overheads, hi hat, ride cymbal, and kick drum
could be 414s on overheads and 451s for hihat and ride. theres also a 57 for cowbell and block
@@DanielKomarek the overheads looked like sE Electronics T2’s, but I could be very wrong
Looks like Beta 91 on a Kelly Shu for kick in, can’t quite tell kick out
