Thanks for the comparison. Price wise, these two are rather close. I'm currently deciding between these. I don't off road, but have never had a true off road vehicle. It's just hard to pass on the off roading goodies, better wheels, extra cameras, bed liner, rock sliders(and steps on the one i'm eyeballing) on the zr2 for a mere $3k more than the loaded at4 i'm eyeing. $46,5 vs $49,5. Love the premium feel of the gmc and won't honestly have that much time to off road, but man the zr2 is sick in its own way. Interior is a huge step down though. Lockers huge step up. What do i do?!?!
I have 32,000 KM on my 2023 GMC Canyon Elevation. Debating upgrading up to a ZR2, and just test drove one yesterday. They're very similar, except the ZR2 feels like it has off-road multimatic, you notice it on round abouts or left and right turns... wobbles. My GMC feels planted and stiff, which i like being a street bike/motocross/car guy. However, for not that much more money, the ZR2 is a way better choice. I find my Canyon has a couple good angles cosmetically, where as the ZR2 looks good at every angle. Also $49,500? I wish... I have to pay $60,000 CAD for a no-options ZR2.
So why would you compare a ZR2 to an AT4 and not the X? The AT4 should be compared to the Z71. Also ther is the ZR2 Bison which is the top of the line Colorado.
The problem is if you get the ZR -2 Bison. You go from 33s to 35s tires .The Bison spare takes up most of the Truck Bed. I would prefer the ZR-2 with the 33s and the spare is under the truck bed. The Bison had more ground clearance, however the full size spare is secured in the middle of truck bed
Why wouldn't GM put a rear locker in the AT4? Especially since it's an "off-road" version truck. Seems like a direct comparison to a TRD Off Road. I'm not a fan of the G80 mechanical locker when compared with something I can control. Other than that, I would consider both trucks with the nod to the ZR2 because of the lockers. I do more off-roading than towing.
At4x should be compared to zr2 with all packages plus mats, plus underbody cameras, plus boss sound system. The difference will be about 2-3K. At4x has HUD (zr2 doesn't), slightly better pain job, different rims, front end, back, vents, buttons accent color, and seat colors. That's what you pay for 2-3k extra
@@SunnyFly100 The ZR2 gets rear vents you're probably thinking of the Ranger Raptor. The zr2 lacks a HUD, power adjustable seat for the passenger, LED lights for the turn signals, and the reflectors on the side skirts. Not arguing the paint but that's the first I'm hearing that one. But when I was cross shopping the zr2 was about 3k more expensive than how id equip an AT4 (48k vs 51k) but my GMC dealer was also charging a mark up when the Chevy wasn't.
On star, WiFi , google assistance, Sirius XM ? I got all that for free for 3yrs on a canyon at4 2023. 23s have that promotion rn. Don’t know the prize tho .
Yes, to me both those trucks look cool. If I were to buy a truck It would have to look like one of those two. Style wise, to me that is how a truck should look like. Lol 😎😎😎😁✌️
totally wrong comparison.. you don't have apples to apples.. The ZR1 compares against the AT4, and ZR2 compares against the AT4x, Bison vs AEV, etc.. The AT4 is nice but the AT4X is hands down the best trim level.. Has all the luxury and features of a Denali but the off-road capabilities of the AT4 and then some.. I absolutely love my AT4x... thanks for sharing though..
We didn't want to compare the at4x with the ZR2 because we didn't have both vehicles on the lot. This is such a b******* answer. You should be comparing the exact same trim models to make. You didn't have both
Not a fair comparison, you should compare the AT4X, unless you're comparing the same price point, because the GMC's are more expensive for the same features.
Midsize truck market make it hard to choose. Price is the main down side
Wouldn't comparing the Canyon AT4X make a little more sense?
Nice job on the comparison!

Prices are fairly similar, do you want the capability or do you want less capability more luxury…
What you should be asking is why is the ZR2 $50k out the door but the AT4X is $60k+. Ridiculous price difference for the same truck
So the zr2 should be compared to at4x
AT4 has wide body stance and is lifted. The Z71 has brighter. This is a proper comparison.
AT4 should be compared to trail boss

Outstanding comparison! Thank you
The map in the gauge cluster is a cool feature on the Chevy 👍
Both have that feature.
I like the zr2 as far design
When you pay the outragous high prices for either one of those you have no money left to go fishing or camping.

The Canyon AT4 has a G80 rear locker standard on all canyons. The AT4X has electronic front and rear lockers.
Those trucks look great. 👍 Decisions…
We didn’t want to do the AT4x because well that would be an actual comparison. But let’s compare it to a truck. That’s not meant for off-road. Got it.
Price difference between those two?
Depends how they have it optioned, but I was looking at 50 vs 51k when I crossed shopped the two.

I would choose the Canyon AT4 to take to Lowe's, but definitely the ZR2 if going to Home Depot.
Anyone know how well they perform towing rv trailers?
Did they fix the rood dent issue on the 2024s? IF so what did they do? I know the repairs they did on the 2023s did not work. Thanks
Sorry the what? Roof dents?
Mine dented. Going in the body shop soon
@@barryguffey8061 bummer! Yeah I’m going to wait for a permanent fix then I’ll take it in
Gotta do it before 36,000 miles.
@@barryguffey8061 not true, just gotta have it noted before then
Dam, these trucks look awesome!
How much do the monthly subscriptions cost
Are those forced?
What are you talking about?

I got all that for free for 3yrs on a canyon at4 2023. 23s have that promotion rn.

@@DougVandegriftnot forced but google stuff requires a data plan
Specs say the ZR2 comes with ventilated seats. Not true?
You can get ventilated seats in the ZR2.
PRICE ?
Bro....I was waiting for the price difference!!
ZR2 is comparable to AT4x not regular AT4
Price wise, yes it is comparable…AT4X is in the $60K range
ZR2 is in the low 50’s, probably a lot better deal
Actual price difference is around 2K. You have to add convenience package, technology package, bose sound to zr2 to compare it to at4x.
Im not talking about price…im talking about performance…..Jesus

Not a fair comparison. The at4 can have more than this reviews. Example is that i have AT4 that does have 360 cameras. It's all packaging.
Alberta Canada
2024 Taco trail hunter = $90k+
2024 chevy Colorado zr2 = $60k+
Still too expensive for most people

Canyon looks so much better. Not that the Colorado isn't also really good looking.
Colorado is waaaaaaay nicer
other than off road capabilities, how so?
So the ZR2 is for people who actually want to go off road and the Canyon is for the ones who want to pretend they go off road
Wows👏🏻

GMC AT4
Regardless, like Toyota, the engines are way too small, and weak and will maxed out. Uneven power spectrum.
UAW Supports Kamala they should have stayed out of Politics
When have republicans ever supported unions?
How did that work out for those fools?😅
Not a fair comparison, you should compare the AT4X, unless you're comparing the same price point, because the GMC's are more expensive for the same features.
Why would you admit to not comparing the AT4X because its closer to the ZR2? are you drunk?
