  • The 2024 Mazda CX-90 Signature (as tested $66,078 in Canada, $61,920 in the US (Turbo S Premium Plus)) has some very stiff competition within the turbocharged inline-six SUV world. Namely, the 2023 Mercedes GLE 450 ($88,375 in Canada, $73,000 in the US) and the 2023 BMW X5 40i ($91,100 in Canada, $75,885 in the US). Thomas and James are interested in how the new Mazda CX-90 compares to the Germans in a drag and roll race. After all, the Mazda undercuts the price of its competition by quite a good margin while still offering similar performance figures. How will this turn out? Things don’t always go as you might expect in a drag race! We hope you enjoy the episode. Subscribe!

Sure you can drive it super hard and then just turn it off then you’ll have issues like this. Exactly !! And therefore -
A sequel “base model” review of these 3
      would be great 👍🏼

The price difference is for the 0-60 only.
      And performance isn't 0-60 obviously.

Exacty what I was thinking. Give us this engine in a stiffed and roughened Mazda 6 with some angrier looks and a price tag around 40k and we´re in.

The CX90 should maybe.. perhaps.. just slightly.. potentially.. be racing the X7 and the GLS...just due to its size (over 200 inches) and the fact that it has a dedicated 3rd-row rather than the jumpseats in the GLE and X5 (that literally only children or adults without legs can fit in). The CX70 that's coming soon would be more in line with the size of the X5/GLE.

CX-90 is definitely on my shortlist of new cars to test drive, thanks guys for the video. Checking out the Audi SQ5 as a more expensive option.

love Mazda as a company. Have owned 8 Mazdas. Everything from a 08 Mazda 3s to 06 rx8, and now currently driving a 2020 cx9. Never had an issue with any of them even the rx8.

I also imagine that they will tune it to be JUUUUUST a little quicker since it’s not the “family hauler” of the two.

We'll be moving from our Volvo XC60 to a Mazda CX90 and skipping the Volvo XC90. The savings will be immense.

@@mercedes.c63_audi.q8 that's what sold us on the cx9. I work for Ford and even with our discount, the cx9 loaded was cheaper then a mid tier explorer. We are missing things like 360 camera but we don't care about shit like that .

Quick tip: for super quick of the line acceleration use CX-90 PHEV model and set it in Off-Road mode.
