Looks like $2400 in dealer extras, Hendricks still playing the game....Nitrogen upcharge is funny, when most of the air we breathe is nitrogen.

  • @sean1anders
    @sean1anders 3 месяца назад +7

As long as Hendricks wants me to haggle over $200 nitrogen... I won't step a single foot on any of their lots.

I bought a loaded Z71 and could not be happier. I paid the $395 turbo upgrade, had to in 23 to get the 430 tq. Removed the eye sore air dam and it has been great!

Nice review! Both the GM twins are the best looking mid-size trucks on the market, imo. Solid tow capability and payload as well. I would lean toward the GMC. I am in the market to buy at the end of 2024. I would easily buy a GMC Elevation 4WD optioned the way I want. The only issue. . .will I get 150,000 to 200,000 or reliable miles. Hmmmm? BTW, how about sharing the payloads on the trucks? Again, solid review.

Elevation is the sweet spot however they do not have 4x4 low range just auto and 4wd high.
      Kills it for me

@@thomaslehmann5981 actually, I made the plunge and purchased a 2024 Chevrolet Colorado Z71 about 15 days ago in glacier blue metallic. I was going to purchase no later than November/December and I was checking out a GMC Canyon Elevation. I got a much better deal on more highly optioned Z71. We are currently using it on our first camping trip as our new tow vehicle (towing a small 17’ egg camper that only weighs 2900 lbs). I had been getting 13 mpg towing. I got 15.9 with the Colorado. It just purrs towing. Love it! P.S. - The Colorado Z71 has AWD, 4WDhi, and 4WDlo.

@deanmay338 congrats glad you are happy with your purchase.
I currently have a 2016 base Canyon 3.6 4wd Xtra cab. 101k miles very solid truck no issues at all.
In 8 years I have probably used 4x4 low twice. Both times in deep snow at my northern Mo farm. With 430 ft lbs of torque thinking you need low is probably fantasy but I still like knowing I have it.

@@thomaslehmann5981 thank you! Thoroughly enjoying the Colorado Z71!!! I think I would have been fine without the 4WDlo on the Canyon Elevation. Besides lots of towing, we will only do light off-roading on forest service roads, etc. when camping/hiking. However, I am still glad that I have 4WDlo. What I wanted most in addition to the the 4WDhi was the AWD. Quite pleased with the features, performance, and capability with the new Colorado!

Note the interior difference in the HVAC vents and the Canyon ha more soft touch trim around the console and dash.

@jmua8450 everything else in the world has gone up a well. It's called inflation. Home prices, gas, wages, food. Vehicle prices are supposed to be immune from this?

Keep in mind that today’s mid size trucks are the same as full size truck from the 90s and earlier. Cost on every vehicle platform is insane anymore… I bought a fully loaded S10 (minus 4wheel drive) in 97 for less than $18k and a fully loaded 02 Firebird Formula with the Firehawk pkg for $30k. In 02 a loaded Vett was around $60k now you’re in the $80-100k+ territory and a Silverado is $70k-$100k fully loaded. They’re starting to offer some incentives as the market has soured but they’re still using tactics learned during supply Covid shortages only now it’s just scumbag greed. Hendricks is among the worst but where they really like to shaft the consumer is in service as it’s the bread and butter of dealerships but GM as all other manufacturers know this. That’s why now it’s become common your warranty requires you service your vehicle there for regular service or void your warranty. Some manufacturers like Acura go so far as to leave out info when buying like every 9k-15k miles you’re required to have the diff, trans, and brake fluids changed for a mere $1500 or void your service contract. Leasing has become far more attractive vs buying too considering the repair costs once out of warranty.

@818Vallero at least not to match the level of inflation. The raising of minimum wages also hammered the middle class. It was essentially a pay decrease for everyone else as their wages remained the same.

I almost bought a 2024 GMC AT4 friday but I couldnt get the dealer to come off the msrp sticker because the truck is 1 of the last in the sand dune metallic color which is now discontineued. I was also offered a low ball trade in price for my 2018 colorado. If the dealer would of dropped a little off the sticker or give me a better trade in offer for my truck I would have bought that canyon. The dealer refused to negotiate on the trade in offer or the sticker price. The one thing I dont like about the colorado and canyon is the ugly black plastic around the wheel arches, the plastic traps moisture and in the salt belt midwest traps road salt behind the plastic increasing the chances of early rust rot. Ive seen some colorado z71s that dont have the plastic around the wheel arches so think Ill go with a z71.

I wish you would point out some of the crazy differences. Like their top packages should have ventilated seats on both. Not sure what that one did not. Additionally the AT4 with leather seats is dual power. Top trim on the Colorado only has power driver. Both non-electric seats are 4 way adjustable on the passenger side. Neither have Home link. And the AT4 comes with HUD as part of the premium package. Not an option on Chevy. Neither have a power sliding rear glass. Kind of hard to reach to do it manually from the front row. Hmm…what else.
Still a good video. But GM has to do something about their screwy trim packages.

AT4 gets an extra 1" lift and if you look at the front bumper design the corners lift on the AT4 to clear obstacles so its a little better off-road. z71 has the chin spoiler and slightly better aerodynamics so it gets an extra 1mpg. Overall the AT4 gets a few more goodies but also will run a couple of grand more on price.
