  • The latest upgrades to the Hellcat Pro are really shaping this thing up into something very different from its stock configuration. The Apex barrel, no surprise, is of the highest quality. The big change change is the extended slide release from Lakeline LLC. Both the Hellcat and Hellcat Pro desperately needed a better option for a slide release and this is going to be the hot item for those guns.

      Hold off on the Comp for now. In order to do a comp you have to add a threaded barrel and I really think porting may be the better option. If you want to comp then definitely do it if it's in the budget. Hopefully I can figure out a good comp as well as porting service for it soon and do a side by side for you guys. What is your opinion of the Apex Tactical "Failure Resistant Extractor for Hellcat" for the Hellcat Pro? Also please keep us up to date on the porting story! Like you, the Hellcat Pro is my EDC but looking for any good advice. The only things on my handgun is that I installed the after-market Apex trigger and use a Holosun 507K utilizing the DPP adapter plate...

    • @360TacticalSolutions
      @360TacticalSolutions  Год назад

      So I’ve had a couple people comment and accuse me of shilling for different companies including Apex. And I really want to start by making it super clear that I am an affiliate of Apex. If you click my link and buy something then I make a couple dollars. I think it works out to like $2 when you buy a trigger. That being said…I don’t think a failure resistant extractor is necessary on THIS gun. I haven’t seen any issues with the HCP that justify changing the extractor. I know some people had some issues with like the FN509 and the Apex extractor cleared that up…but that’s not something I’ve seen in the Hellcat. So that part, I wouldn’t spend my money on.
      I like the trigger. I like the mag release. I like the threaded barrel mostly, even thought I haven’t committed to a comp yet. I think for most HCP users the trigger is going to be the main upgrade. Mag release isn’t a must have but if you have the money and it’s not a big purchase I’d go for it. That slide release in this video is a game changer in my opinion. I’m still working on finding a porting service I trust. I absolutely won’t send people somewhere that I don’t 100% trust. Cutting up a slide and barrel is a big deal. You fuck that up and there’s no fixing it lol.

    • @AlanKinzy

      @@360TacticalSolutions Thank you for your timely response... definitely let us know if you find a reliable porting solution. If I send the slide and barrel in if you find a good company, I will likely remove my Holosun 507K with the adapter plate and get the two rear posts shaved down (since the slide/barrel work will invalidate the warranty) and re-attach the 507K directly to the slide to get a better co-witness...

      To be honest I'm not a fan of the EPS. I get the advantage to a closed emitter. Looking at one up close next to the 407K It seems bulky and oversized for a gun like the HCP. Ya it will work but I don't know it's too large a body in my view. I like that you can get it in 6moa but I think there's too much emphasis being put on closed emitter systems these days. Im not saying no one should buy them but in all the work that ive put in I don't see as heavy and advantage as people think there is. If you have a 407K or whatever already, I don't feel it's worth spending the money to upgrade. If you don't have a red dot and you are just torn between a 407 or an EPS then sure, EPS can be great. I just wouldn't rush out to buy one to replace something you already have

      That’s a great question. Yes I do like using a sidecar style holster for the most part. One drawback is they are a bit bulky. The thing about the Hellcat Pro is that it’s slim and lightweight. It’s the kind of gun you want when you want to really conceal without any consideration toward cover garments or whatever else. So for that gun I prefer a more slim and minimal type holster. I just wish the backstrap was a little more rounded off. I want to buy a HC pro but I just can't get past how the back of the grip interfaces with my hand. It feels like all the force of recoil would be from the "corner" on the right side vs the more flattened center. Is that something you've noticed at all when shooting?

    • @360TacticalSolutions
      @360TacticalSolutions  Год назад

      I haven't really noticed anything like that. I work really hard practicing my grip and making sure my fundamentals are solid no matter what gun im using. The best thing you can do is find a range with a rental program that has the Hellcat Pro. Rent one and put a dozen mags through it. Testing a mag through a gun isn't enough. Takes a few to get the feel for it. Track your targets for accuracy. If you find you are getting good groups out of the gun and it's relatively comfortable then id say buy one. How it feels in hand at the gun counter rarely tells you enough information vs spending time doing live fire practice.

      @360TacticalSolutions  Год назад

      I’m actually not a fan of night sights. I prefer a blacked out rear, fiber optic front, weapon mounted light and a good red dot. Anything outside of 7 yards is red dot territory, especially if it’s dark enough for night sights to glow and if it’s that dark you souls be using a light to positively ID what you are aiming at which makes night sights useless. Anything inside of 7 yards and you are most likely going to be aiming using muscle memory…point and shoot. Best I can say is Dawson Precision has a great selection of sights that are cut specifically for each weapon. I would start by checking there if you really want to change the sights

    • @360TacticalSolutions
      @360TacticalSolutions  10 месяцев назад

      The Shield Plus Performance Center model? Yes thats as close as we can get to making a comparison with S&W and the HCP.
      The Shield is slightly thicker than the HCP. So the HCP wins there.
      The Shield comes with a 10 and 13rd mag where as the HCP comes with 15rd mags so the HCP wins there.
      The Shield 13rd mags have the grip extensions which allow you to get a full grip which is great but you have to break your grip to do a mag change where as the HCP just has a full grip all the time.
      The Shield has no accessory rail where as the HCP comes standard with an accessory rail for lights...gotta id what you aim at
      The Shield has a model that is optic ready maybe? The one listed in the Performance Center doesn't. The HCP only comes in an optic ready model.
      The only thing that gives the Shield a win is the barrel length is 4" vs the HCP which has the 3.7" but the argument can be made that the HCP now comes in a threaded version that has a 4" threaded barrel so in the end there really is no advantage to the S&W, not even in pricing. Believe me I wish they made a slim line M&P that was just the 4" M&P shrunk down to a 1" thick package like the HCP. If S&W did that id never pick my HCP up again

    mcarbo or apex trigger more reliable?

    • @360TacticalSolutions
      @360TacticalSolutions  11 месяцев назад

      Thats a complicated one. I mean with the way the HCP is designed if you install a trigger and dont get the trigger return spring just right there will be times where the trigger wont reset. That can happen no matter what trigger you install. So it’s important to have a pro do the installation or follow the video guide very closely that Apex has posted on their site. As far as overall reliability goes they both seem reliable. I have a lot more rounds through the Apex then the MCarbo but never had an issue with either. As a general rule I trust Apex more than I do any other trigger. That trust comes from their time in the industry being leaders in aftermarket triggers. I trust them because I know their test and certification process. I trust Apex because I personally have somewhere in the neighborhood of 25k rounds through different guns using an Apex trigger and never once have I had an issue related to an Apex product. As far as the Hellcat Pro goes if you havent seen my review on the new Apex Type3 trigger, go take a look at that video. Its my new favorite. If I had a stock HCP and wanted to upgrade id go with that trigger over anything else

      haha lasers are for cats. Seriously though...ive never been big on lasers. The ones you are talking about are very difficult to find a holster to work with it. • @SitNSpinRecords
      @SitNSpinRecords Год назад

      The viridian green laser holds zero great. It clam shells to the trigger guard and rail. It is daytime bright and they claim 2 miles at night. You can pretty much point out stars with it. It’s borderline illegal bight. I zeroed it and have taken it off a few times and changed batteries and it hold well enough to hip shoot 8’ steel at 25 yards in the daytime. That’s the advantage of a good laser over a optic. You dont have to aim to know where you will hit. Poi vs poa is not much since the dot is roughly the same distance as the iron sights from the bore.
      The pros
      It’s daytime bright
      It’s way faster than iron sights
      It holds zero
      You can hip shoot or you dont have to aim to see where it will hit
      It ties with a optic as far as speed
      It’s under $200
      The cons.
      Good luck finding a holster. Especially if you are a south paw
      It can get turned on while holstered and kill the battery
      You can get too used to using it and when the battery dies, you cant aim near as accurately
      It’s so bright you can see the beam.
      You have to take it apart to change batteries
      Has about a 8 hour battery life
      The holosun eps carry
      It will humble you and show you how bad your fundamentals are
      You have to practice the basics until you can draw and present consistently
      The trick is to move your head if you loose the dot, not move the gun. Moving the gun is what makes the dot streak across and back out of sight.
      Just like driving a stick shift, all of a sudden it will just click and you will be able to use it much faster than iron sights
      It has a solar failsafe if the battery died
      It has shake awake so you never have to turn it on or off
      It has 3 reticle options dot, circle. Circle dot
      50,000 hour battery life
      It has a totally enclosed emitter
      It’s made for every day ccw use
      It has a auto adjust brightness mode. Uses the solar panel to adjust the brightness so it doesn’t blind you in dark and gets brighter in daylight so you can see it.
      The. Con
      is the screw positions are in different holes than the optic plate is and the right screw will bottom out on a spring in the slide . I think its like 8mm long or something. I filed a screw down to make it run.
      The iron sights can barely be seen in the bottom of the optic. The hero cats front sight is awesome and id like to absolute co-witness so i could use it.
      You still cant hardly find the eps carry. ❤

The shorter grip on the smaller frame makes for less control over the gun. Sure you have pinky extensions you can use but doing mag changes breaks your grip and the shorter grip really doesn’t give you much more concealment. I put the apex trigger, extended mag release, , a momento mori rear slide plate, +4 extension on 1 mag to make 19+1 with two 15rd for better ccw and gun grips skate tape with the hellcat head logo everything accented black and red With the eps carry on top. Would like to try the recoil spring.
    Ive become a fan of the Croatian springfield line.
    Have the xdm, xdm elite osp (my fav) the xdm elite precision, hellcat pro. And a hellion…. And a saint AR10

      Ive never liked the Springfield products. Shot a bunch over the years and they just never did it for me. This Hellcat Pro though is the best thing on the market for CCW

      @@360TacticalSolutions I bought a glock 21 when I turned 21. Idk what gen it was but the mags didn’t have the steel insert yet. Was in the 90’s put a internal guide rod laser on it. Carried it for a decade then went to a xdm .40.
      The way the sights line up for me is natural with the xdm line.
      The glock hump makes me hit low.
      The hellcat being basically a 15rd 9mm but .380 size was my reason for getting it. I can’t carry a full-size without being obvious.
      We have 100+ degree summers here.
      Tshirt and shorts is all the concealment you get from now till about November.
      I like the eps on the pro, but I really love that front sight.
      I wish I could use it. If the rear was tritium, I’d probably take the optic off.
      The elite precision is shooter right out of the box. Adjustable rear and they cut cut a window from the top of the slide and added the mass back at the bottom.
      It is the easiest pistol in 9mm I’ve shot for controlling muzzle flip. Even the comped osp is behind it. Try one sometime.
      I’m trying to work up a lighter load to make the pro a little less snappy.
      Looking for around 950 with a 115gr jhp
      Gonna chrono them in a day or two to confirm.
      I’d like to try the recoil springs as well.
      Have you seen those polymer core hp that go over 2,000 fps but only about 14” penetration and less recoil?
      Saw sone for $150 per 100.
      Reasonable for carry ammo.

      I have 4 other different holsters(ranging from $50-$130) for mine and i decided to stick with my desantis slim tuk pegasus, was 25 bucks and does everything i need for a holster to do and just so happens to be the cheapest lol
      Its probably one of the slimmest, lightest and rentention is pretty damn good for the price. its also RDS friendly

      @@JaviGlocksShorts my number 1 go to is McKinatec. I don't earn a commission but they treat my viewers real good. Use 360TS for 15% off. Lead times are over estimated and you tend to get your stuff sooner than expected. But they do a basic charge for a holster. No uncharge for an optic cut, premium kydex or the addition of a light. McKinatec is amazing. ruclips.net/video/q4pzVgeQpl8/видео.html
      That Talon is my primary holster for the HCP. The other company I highly recommend is G-Code. They don't have the options McKinatec has but their holsters are phenomenal as well.
