  • Basted eggs are used all the time in restaurants and as long as you go low and slow, no one will ever have to know you didn't master the flip! How many times have you tried to make over easy eggs only to break the yolk when you flip it? For the person who loves that jiggly, runny yolk, it's enough to send you to your knees in a heap. Fear not! This video will show you how to make No Flip "Over Easy" Eggs- NO FLIP REQUIRED! But you will have to crack them yolks intact so that's on you but I have faith in you.
    For the full, printable recipe, go to my website: www.mrskringleskitchen.com/20...

    I have been doing my eggs this way for years, only difference is I use a cast iron skillet. Over the years it has become smoother than Teflon. One of my skillets belonged to my great-grandfather who was a cook on a cattle drive from Missouri to Colorado, on the mountain branch of the Santa Fe Trail. I will be 75 in a few days, so you can just imagine how old the skillet is.

    Well, This was my first time making any type of egg myself besides Scrambled so since I liked over easy eggs I decided to make these and I think I did good. I accidently cooked the yolk a little but my mom and grandma said for a 12 year old learning to cook I did well for my first time. So thank you for the recipe 💜❤

    works for omelettes too. I actually mix some water into the eggs, put them in a pan over low heat and cover right away. Open it up a couple minutes later and it's cooked on bottom and mostly on top. Add cheese, toppings to half, fold, take off heat and cover for a couple more minutes. Perfect omelette. If you browned the bottom, you're using too high of a heat.

    I learned this method 55 years ago from mom. I've used it since.
    If you use a skillet large enough(preheat nicely) several eggs can work. I've prepared 12 at the same time in one pan. Cast iron is my go-to skillet, in most cases.
    Thanks for putting this out there.
    As stated, the flip can be difficult in the home.

    I use this method sometimes and also oil method. If you use oil, you’ll get the crispy stringy edges. You can then also spoon the hot oil over the yolk to cook them.

    I've always made my eggs that way but I called them sunny side up eggs. But in restaurants I would ask for poached eggs so that the whites would be white, not clear and runny. A while ago I learned that the scrambled eggs I made were actually called frambled eggs. 😄

    I'm 66 yrs. 'young'...LOL...and I was raised with carefully getting the oil over the top using the spatula...making waves...as someone already mentioned. I have never broken a yoke when flipping but sure have broken lots of yokes when first breaking them into the pan. Sometimes the fried egg I wanted winds up as a scrambled egg...good either way..LOL.

    • @MrsKringlesKitchen
      @MrsKringlesKitchen  6 лет назад +4

      You're still just a whippersnapper. ;-) Thanks for sharing your method and you're right, even if it ends up scrambled, it's still good!

    • @desertpair2
      @desertpair2 5 лет назад +4

      I think the problem with breaking the yoke as you put it into the pan is cracking the yoke on the side of the pan. Crack it on a flat, immoveable surface instead. Once you've broken the shell, even a little, break the shell open with your hand (don't do any more banging on the flat surface!) The yoke seems to be able to handle the ragged shell much better than the banging to crack the shell. Sometimes, though, if the eggs are not really fresh, you're fighting a losing battle.

    • @sha2143
      @sha2143 5 лет назад

      Take a spoon, whack the side of the egg. Start gentle and work up the force till it cracks, never break another yoke again. Also thanks for the video, this is very helpful.

    Also, if you don't have a lid for your skillet, you can make a little "tent" from aluminium foil, but you would have to take a peek every few seconds to check how the cooking is progressing.

    Nice recipe idea, you may know this one for boiled eggs, if you do, just delete.place eggs in a pan and cover about 1 inch with water, put on a tight lid and bring to a rapid boil and let boil for 1 to 1 and half minutes, remove from heat and place on non heated burner. Leave covered in hot water for 10 to 12 minutes, pour hot water out and peel under cool running water, you will never have that green or gray ring around your solid yolks, works every time
