Yeah I’m trying to use a lci2 pro, line output converter and I tried ordering a plug and play wiring harness so it would be easy but the plugs look like there for a newer style Ford or Lincoln vehicle so now I’m assuming I’m going to have to wire in the stock wiring harness like you did. I’m just not really sure where to start lol. (not very electronically inclined)
The sho is different. You’d have to go to the audio digital processing module. It’s in the rear of the vehicle. On the drives side, behind the carpet in the trunk. You’d need to access connector: C4326B Pins 4 and 12 for the Left rear twisted pair white and green positive/ brown and yellow negative. Pins 8 and 16 for the Right rear twisted pair brown and white positive/ brown and blue negative. I’ll have to read up on that inverter on how to install it.
It’s on a fuse for hot in run. I forget the actual number for the fuse panel under the drivers side dash. I used a fused piggyback style wire that turns on the amp when the vehicle is running.
Would it not have been easier to hook the inverter up in the trunk? Then it would be a shorter run to the amp and then you would only need to run a long hot wire?
The wires are right next to each other, behind the radio. In the trunk they are spread apart. This video also shows how to take the dash apart. It only takes me about 5 mins to access behind the radio, as I’ve done this job many, many times. I’d say you’re right, but I feel like it’s more work.
You’d need connector c2009 Pin20 L+ brown/light green Pin10 L- white/pink Pin9 R+ dark blue/white Pin19 R- grey These 4 wires are twisted with a black ground wire and shielding. C2009 is on the left back side of the radio facing up and down, the connector face has 20 cavities. Hopefully this helps.
@@archcitygarage Were you tapping into the rear door speakers before the factory amp? Thats why you didn't access the wires under the floor trim? Does the SEL use a factory amp or does the box you pulled out of the dash have amps built in. I'd really like to add a sub, but not take the dash apart. Lol
@@JasonWW2000 the box I pull out is the radio. (Audio control module). There is no amp between the ACM and the speakers. I used an inverter to get a sub with the factory radio since there aren’t really any good aftermarket options. You’re going to have to pull something apart to put the sub in, not sure how to do it any other way. Good luck.
I used a PAC line output converter. Model #SNI-35 The paper work states that the 2 brown wires are ground and only needed if there is no sound from the amplifier. In this case, the 2 wires for each speaker from the stereo were enough to power the converter.
i hooked mine up yesterday and i have no sound coming from them, called the audio shop and he thinks i didn’t turn the volume knob on the converter so gotta tear my dash back apart tomorrow after work and see if that’s my issue lol
amzn.to/3r6jv0u This one would work very similarly. Just follow the wires for that inverter to which speaker negative and positive wire they need to be on. Plus a knob to quickly turn it down to add.
do they make dash kits for that car. i have a 2014 ford taurus, i have 2 rockford p3's.......12's with a 1200 watt amp on it. i dont have a aftermarket radio though
Thanks for the video. Had to replace the HVAC display unit. With this video I zoomed through the installation in less than 40 mins 👌🏻👍🏻
Glad to hear it!
jesus man you came in clutch with this video
Omg someone finally made a video about how to do this, absolutely helpful. Thankyou great video
If you’re doing this yourself and have any questions, let me know! Any other videos ideas on a Taurus you want to see?

What year and trim level is your ford?
It’s a 2010 Ford Taurus sho

Good video with pretty simple tools
This was very helpful. Thank you
very informative! thanks
Super helpful
You have any idea the wires for a 2013 ?
Lesson learned: Just simply tear the car completely down and put it back together!
prefect video what did you run your remote wire to or did i miss that?
It’s on a 12v ignition fuse on the Body Control Module. Depending on your make and model, that can be different.

@@archcitygaragewhat fuse was it? Do you remember
I have a 2011 Ford Taurus will it be different for me because it’s one year newer or will it be the same . It’s the AWD limited
I’ll check a diagram for you and get back with some info on that.
Should be the same.
What fuse location did you use on your red wire?
I think it’s Fuse 31. It’s unused on my vehicle and comes on with the key, so no dead battery.
So where do you have the remote wire hooked too?

@@archcitygarage i have a 2011 for Taurus SEL with a Sony system. Would it be the same to wire it directly to the factory amp in the trunk?
Where does the loc need to be installed on a 2005 for Taurus se
You’d need connector c2009
Pin20 L+ brown/light green
Pin10 L- white/pink
Pin9 R+ dark blue/white
Pin19 R- grey

Isn't it much easier to access those same rear speaker wires from under the rear deck? These cars don't have a factory sub?
Both sets of speaker wires are not next to each other in the trunk/ rear deck area.
No there isn’t a factory subwoofer on the SEL.
