Dude your only using 2 metal? The industrial forge melts 40 metal=20 ingots in 20 seconds. The Phoenix only melts 2 metal=1 ingot in 5 seconds. Meaning it only melts 4 ingots every 20 seconds so the industrial forge is clearly 100% faster.
I think magmasaur is the best one because you can farm metal using it and feed it stone because stone fills up its food bar by 200 and you can put him in a cryopod so thats a easy choice
You mentioned that you needed to feed the magmasaur a ton of raw meat, but the magmasaur gets like 200 food from a single piece of stone, so that’s much better to feed it, it just won’t eat it on its own And as already mentioned, the industrial forge does 20 every time it smelts, not one, so it’s really cooking it at a rate of 1/sec
I'd also add you can slot cap a magmasaur if it's weights high enough.that combined with it's mobility,and ability to be shoved in a cryopod,to me at least makes it far better than an indi forge
the industrial forge cooks faster in bulk i believe. you should run a test between the indi forge and the phoenix to see which one smelts 200 raw metal faster ;)
indy forge has it's speed come in by doing a stack at a time, not single ingots at a time, it will do a stack of 20 at a time. so 20 seconds for 20 ingots, does the pheonix or magmasaur also do a stack at a time?

Maybe cryo them and chuck them out again? I know on fjordur the desmodius have this stutter/rubberband effect when flying. Cryo fixed that issue. If anything its worth a shot

I'm also wondering but I have seen that if you use the taunt ability it is a bit quicker for a short time bet it attracts dinos to kill you
