To be honest, I don’t remember the last time I rode a plesiosaur. They should really add more oceans especially when there are only three oceans in all of the story dlcs. I hope Lost Island will add a great ocean.
They should really add more fish species. They don't necessarily need to be exceptionally useful, but their presence would fill out the oceans a bit more
My favourite mod is the additional creatures aquaria mod simply for that reason it’s so disappointing seeing the beauty of some of the water biomes but with barely any life it’s more terrifying than awe inspiring
It takes no courage to explore the ocean on a Mosa or a Tuso. A Raptor on the other hand...... That requires watermelons between your legs. I salute you.

I actually still have that raptor and now whenever I look at it I just think back to diving into the water at level 30 and instantly getting gangbanged by sharks and mantas. Got attacked the whole way and my raptor almost died but surprisingly still managed to get all the way across the sea from the beaches to the redwoods, by far the dumbest victory in ark for me.
Hey, sailing out on the sea on The Center on the back of a Raptor is still smarter than what I did the very first time I played The Center. Learned real fast them wooden rafts are a terrible idea.

I'm approaching 2K hours in this game, and despite already having tamed every other creature in the ocean including a few eels, I only just tamed my first mosa yesterday
If you get a leadsyticus and coelacanth in Cyro pods and place them on your hot bar you get access to secret cave where the legendary dinos are sealed away. Dino Rock, Dino Tek, and Dino Ice. If you can catch I mean tame all 3 you can fight the legendary alpha Giga!
Tbh the sarco is heavily underrated in my opinion of beginners and mid game players this guy is just a legend the speed at which he swims in the water is broken be able to outrun most of the underwater creatures, as well as being able to shoot from his back is great and let’s not forget about the insta stamina regain in the water as well as a jump attack that can be used to escape creatures or do good damage. If you tame one of these max level bad boys you have a hard hitting extremely fast underwater mount. Great vid as always rass
Well shadowmanes do that better and I don’t even see why people think shadowmanes r hard to tame I don’t use traps on shadowmanes at all just go kill harmless penguins for poly for gillie make fish baskets from a mushroom tree tent from that harmless moth. All u gotta do is sit in a safe pond and find fish. Then use that fish to literally crouch behind a mane and back up and repeat and u have the only exploration tame u need damn near
@@antiisolation4 yeah shadowmanes do everything better than a sarco, but you can easily tame a sarco at lvl 21 when you get tranq arrows, and you can ride it at I think its lvl 32 when you can get the saddle and shadowmanes are only on a couple maps, so yeah sarco's are amazing EARLY GAME mounts. This is like saying argy's suck because rhynio's do everything better. Or why bother with a trike, anky, doedicurus or mammoth for farming when you can just get a tek stryder.
It’s a absolute injustice that the Beelzebufo didn’t even get a mention. Moves fast and well underwater. Topur attacks to knock out creatures. And makes traveling over the land back to base easy. Oh, and the cementing paste it generates.
100% agree. Dont forget Bassy also has insane health health regen when near the surface and I think the best hit radius, offering short recovery time between those alpha tuso/mosa kills

I also think the spino should be higher, it's strong and fast with attacks on land and water, and it spawns on almost every map. Especially great for Abberation
I personally think Tuso is the best water creature. May not have the 100% resistance to electric eels and jellyfish like basil, but it still resists enough to prevent you from being knocked off. Along with hitting 3 times in one attack, makes it the best aquatic tame in my book if you have the skill to control it.
A tip for Coelacanth fishing or taming, there is a little pond in the NW of the redwoods on Lost Island that spawns Coelacanth with massive sizes, the largest I’ve seen so far was x2.4 but 1.5+ is very common. This was on mostly official settings, I don’t think anything I’ve changed would cause it to be higher sizes. Spinos can spawn there and it’s still Redwoods but it’s not all that dangerous if you have a decent mount
I gotta say the shadow mane is by far my favorite water tame. The invisibility and it’s great speed and no oxygen bar is why I think it’s the best all around tame in the game. If you could have only 1 tame this would be the best IMO.
My opinion: Sarco < spino < shadowmane. For me, shadowmane is the ultimate all terrain creature. Great for diving, great for land travel. Stealth, excelent melee, doesn't require saddle, passive armor, can carry passenger, extremely fast both on land and water, gets water buff like spino does, no oxygen, relatively easy tame+ easy to breed (imprint). So yeah, an excellent all around creature. Tbh its in my top 3 must have creatures. Like not in particular order: rock drake, ice wyvern, shadowmane
It needs a dlc to be useful imo. Stun locked by jellyfish, low hp and not that good damage makes it pretty bad next to tusos or mosas. Even basilo with its healing is better with the cost of speed if not imprinted some points in speed

@@human422 or you could get 1 tuso instead of multiple megalodons and do the same damage since tuso has high damage without needing bleed, hp, good stamina consumption and good speed. Not to mention tuso can rapidly heal and be used for taming if you hold a creature in its grasp without attacking it, takes minutes but no chance of killing the tame and no annoying chasing around the ocean where the creature could flee into other dangers, you can grab and drag it to a safe place with a tuso. Something like alpha mosa is amazing for healing if you hold it the right way so it can't bite back, or drag it to the top where it tries to flee but can't instead of fighting back when grabbed. It takes again minutes to kill with a grab but it heals you by 80k hp. Not bad for tickling an alpha for few-5 minutes. So a tuso can fight very well, easily flee when inking and speed boosted and return when full after few minutes.
I knew the Shadowmane was a lionfish but i had no idea it was actually good in the water. Other than that, the only other water creatures in this list i've actually tamed and used were the Sarco and Karkinos Also, 2:25 that Otter is just the cutest damn thing ever
I’m mega disappointed that the Maewing didn’t even make the mentions. They are just as fast as the Shadowmane in the water and they are the OP glider and land mount. They can belly flop, causing tons of damage and can still attack underwater dealing fair amounts of damage. ALSO new suggestion for a top 10 list. Top 10 travel mount remake. I think the Maewing would make 1st and the Shadowmane a close 2nd.

Shadowmanes number 1 to be honest. I've never been stunned or grabbed by anything underwater while riding them, only knocked off by baryonyx when I wasn't careful.
I feel like spino would be so much better if it just didn’t have an oxygen bar! Like, why does the smaller relative baryonix not have one, but the spino does? Sad day for my favorite Dino.
Well done! Very nice top and indeed, i also go for no1 basi...they are perfect for everything in the ocean. Safest way to enjoy ocean biome.:). Although i think that Anglerfish deserves a spot in the top, maybe instead of those coecalath, but i think that not many players know how good he is. You can ride him, without saddle, because he is small you can use him in rivers too, is the only creature that can harvest silica pearls with his bite, and his bioluminicent lights up 40 foundations range..plus he was better stats than the dolphin or manta. (Lets not forget angler gel). Well presented and f*** me..didnt know that shadowmane is that f cool. Now i regret that i didn't made my hq near water to have a water base :)))
Great work! I think the Shadowmane is my favorite non-flying creature, and one that actually makes me enjoy being on the ground. If you are quick with the warp attack you can stun a microraptor before it can stun you. SO SATISFYING
Baryonyx is my goto dino for The Island. Budget Spino that fit in most caves (underwater and land), the only downside that it only eats fish and not very good at harvesting meats/prime meats and hide compare to Carno. Honorable mentioned: Ithchy and The Upgraded Ithchy - Basilo
since sarco can't attack and move at the same time on land, it always funny to see sarco trying to attack a moving dodo.. the dodo just walk minding it's own business while sarco trying so hard to bite it
i remember playing ark in 2015, god how the ocean has changed since then, i come from a time when plesi's were all the rage, dunkle was being slammed for being too good against bases, i really hope we see a TLC for the plesi, i adored it back then and a part of the nostalgia still has me tame one for my base every now and then, i also really hope we get the livyaton whale in the lost island voting, it would be perfect, mosa is rex, livyaton and tuso would be giga's. i hope livyaton wins the vote.
Shadowmanes will always be my #1 Favorite Fantasy Dino Ever. *Keep in mind I’m constantly called “The Wyvern Witch (with a B-)”, because House Targaryen or die.* I cannot even fathom why, probably because they remind me of a sea dragon-cat. 🤷🏼♀️
I once spent hours taming a max level mosa.. only to lose it that same day to some jellyfish. As far as I'm concerned, there's only 2 viable water creatures... Tuso and Basi... for their stunlock immunity alone. (That said I've never had a shadowmane, so no idea how well they hold up against jellyfish)

I turned my dog (direwolf) into an aquatic mount after learning they have the 2nd highest silica pearl harvest behind the anglerfish. This dog will never need to be used on land again.
I remember when I came across a hugggeeee sarco in a cave and I was terrified, I was like on the edge or the cave wall, and its head just pops out. And I couldn’t even open my eyes, I was literally traumatized lol. I’m just spawning creatures to kill but nothings worked.

I see why the dunky didn’t make it, it’s really slow, but it shouldn’t be completely overlooked, it has a natural 50% damage reduction, which makes it useful for tuso taming, as there’s less risk of it being knocked out, and it has a relatively height weight stat, as well as being the only aquatic creature capable of damaging stone and can also harvest oil and stone, maybe even metal if close enough to the shore, I guess it’s just not on the list because it’s stupidly hard to get one due to their resistance, but it’s understandable
Let be honest the shadowmane deserve number 1 it is literally a water creature that can be used on land how the crap wouldn't that win not to mention it's buffs flyer speed and it can kill a giga if played correctly and jump really far and fast it is insane how good this creature

6:40 On the Center's Lava Island, the Tuso can fight and slap down Alpha Rexes on the beach. Just bring a gun to aggro 'em. Fast leveling.

What about the blood stalker? It's not only a good sea mount but it can also be used to swing around dense areas making kinda all-terrain.
Itchys are sometimes useful because they can attack a variety of underwater creatures without them attacking back.

You can ride him, without saddle, because he is small you can use him in rivers too, is the only creature that can harvest silica pearls with his bite, and his bioluminicent lights up 40 foundations range..plus he was better stats than the dolphin or manta. (Lets not forget angler gel).

Great work! I think the Shadowmane is my favorite non-flying creature, and one that actually makes me enjoy being on the ground. If you are quick with the warp attack you can stun a microraptor before it can stun you. SO SATISFYING
I knew basilo would make the number 1 cause it's almost immune to anything except of course depth
Baryonyx is my goto dino for The Island. Budget Spino that fit in most caves (underwater and land), the only downside that it only eats fish and not very good at harvesting meats/prime meats and hide compare to Carno.

i remember playing ark in 2015, god how the ocean has changed since then, i come from a time when plesi's were all the rage, dunkle was being slammed for being too good against bases, i really hope we see a TLC for the plesi, i adored it back then and a part of the nostalgia still has me tame one for my base every now and then, i also really hope we get the livyaton whale in the lost island voting, it would be perfect, mosa is rex, livyaton and tuso would be giga's. i hope livyaton wins the vote.

Shadowmanes will always be my #1 Favorite Fantasy Dino Ever. *Keep in mind I’m constantly called “The Wyvern Witch (with a B-)”, because House Targaryen or die.* I cannot even fathom why, probably because they remind me of a sea dragon-cat. 🤷🏼♀️
I once spent hours taming a max level mosa.. only to lose it that same day to some jellyfish. As far as I'm concerned, there's only 2 viable water creatures... Tuso and Basi... for their stunlock immunity alone. (That said I've never had a shadowmane, so no idea how well they hold up against jellyfish)

I turned my dog (direwolf) into an aquatic mount after learning they have the 2nd highest silica pearl harvest behind the anglerfish. This dog will never need to be used on land again.

Nice vid as always, but I think sarcos are spawns on Schorced earth and Extiction! I think you need to get its skin to one of the titans too on Ext.
I remember when I came across a hugggeeee sarco in a cave and I was terrified, I was like on the edge or the cave wall, and its head just pops out. And I couldn’t even open my eyes, I was literally traumatized lol. I’m just spawning creatures to kill but nothings worked.

There's a reason why mosa has a large turn arch, it's a gigantic god damn aquatic reptile with Tiny fins, it makes sense.

I only first used shadow cat 3 days ago, it saved my dead body from an alpha squid and mosa, it's now my new favorite,
I see why the dunky didn’t make it, it’s really slow, but it shouldn’t be completely overlooked, it has a natural 50% damage reduction, which makes it useful for tuso taming, as there’s less risk of it being knocked out, and it has a relatively height weight stat, as well as being the only aquatic creature capable of damaging stone and can also harvest oil and stone, maybe even metal if close enough to the shore, I guess it’s just not on the list because it’s stupidly hard to get one due to their resistance, but it’s understandable
