I was definitely surprised that the trike/stego didn’t make the honourable mentions list at the very least. Trikes especially are the first mounts you tame that let you feel a bit more confident exploring on foot, by timing their knockback attacks you can kill things without getting too hurt in the first place
I love the dino progression in Ark. Going from a raptor, to a bary, to a thyla for example, or going from a Trike, to a Stego, to a Theri, is just so much fun. You might not use trikes and raptors after the early game, but they are the foundation your entire playthrough stands on.
I never find raptor very useful, they help you get around but they just can’t really carry much, and trikes are just slow, iguanadons I think are the optimal early game tame
For any of you wondering, Joshua Trees are the trees that look like they have hair or something (youll know them when you see them) that provide sap that, to my knowledge, only spawn of Scorched Earth at least when it comes to story maps.

I love the island for being one of the only maps alongside the Center to be dominated by just prehistoric creatures. I really like the fantasy creatures on the dlc maps, but I like the primal feel the island has. What I also like is how diverse this list is, we got 3 mammals, 2 birds and a bunch of dinos. I hope species diversity is an even bigger thing in Ark 2. I hope everything on this list gets and overhaul or appearance update of some kind in the sequel, all such iconic extinct creatures that really deserve to play as big a role as they can in Ark 2.

All you need to do is murder all the fishes in the rivers. That’s why they’re so common after a dino wipe. In fact they are so common they would probably beat a rex in the common factor. Only problem is you’ll probably need something like a griffin to effectively swoop through (advantage for mobile players) otherwise it is very inefficient and ineffective. I'd place the Baryonyx higher personally. I usually take 4 high level Barys and ride one, have the other 3 follow me. This is great for cross-map travel and spelunking. Especially since they're an all-terrian dino (for ark that means Land, Sea and Caves).
I'm surprised the humble Trike didn't even get an Honorable Mention. That combo lets you tame just about anything you want very early with no saddle required! Argies are amazing, I had to set up a mining fob in PVE and carried an fjordhawk on my shoulders, tools in inventory, an anky with a bunch of metal, an otter in the beak and a whole base in the argie's inventory, it didn't feel like it should work, I basically flew a whole operation clown car style half way across the island, it was surreal.10/10 would proxy again.
Love the Yuty. By far my favorite Dino in the game and in real life. Sad to see it go as I'm pretty confident it will not make it to ARK2 but one can still hold on to hope. Glad to see it make the spot it did.
@@yourhonestbro217 Most likely due to it being a very close resemblance of the rex just with more feathers. It's gameplay mechanic in ARK1 is what made it extremely popular. However that mechanic if reintroduced could be put on a new more unique looking creature or dinosaur. I would still love to se the Yuty in ARK2 myself.
Ive been playing ark for a few days now and ive been slowly moving farther up the island and at the time of this my main dino is a sarco and i came here looking for a fast and powerful dino that can get me an argentavis and a mammoth and the thyler seems like the right thing for the job so thank you very much!
The iguanodon is too underrated -fast (only on 4 legs though) -inf stamina (again only on 4 legs -good weight for early tames -saddle unlocks really early -can fight (or run) Seriously this thing is godly
Another cool trick with argies is how piss easy they are to tame. If you let a wild one eat a corpse before it starts running away from having too much torpor, and manage to KO it while it has the rapid healing buff, it’s food will plummet, letting you tame it very very fast. Same trick works for daedon and the pigs hunger debuff.
I'm always getting around with an Argy and I will often have a cryo'd rex ready for quick deployment in emergencies. Sarco seems to be my go to when getting around in the water. I miss the online gameplay, though.
I think 2nd place is well deserved for the Thyla, I love the marsupial kitty very strong, fast, and powerful. I fully recommend getting yourself one of these bois you’ll never regret it.
Oh, there is no daeodon in the list. I think it should been because daeodon makes things heal REALLY fast, even if the creature is missing a so much HP because the daeodon heal is % based.
@@jman3267 Ikr, like, what the hell community, the megatherium made it into the list, but it is only good for very limited things while the daeodon is good in any situation. Bossfight, cave dino, etc.
I'm really surprised the basilo didn't make it even tho its the best underwater tame ( not the strongest) but still the best. other than its an amazing list. I agree the argent (only on the island) really deserves the first spot
definitely a beastly and not very difficult tame but I think the tuso will outperform it across the board. prehistoric whales are my favorite and I always look for a basilo for underwater caves but as soon as you get a tuso you shred the biggest baddest alpha mosas
i really hoped the mammoth was higer after all all the dinosaurs are very well ranked in this video but the mammoth deserved to be higher since its really satasfying to farm resourses
Guys! Your forgetting about beelzebufos. They can go super fast in water and has a poison, torpidity attack and don’t forget there super powerful jump! The best early game mount, a great mid game animal and a okay late game animal And they can insta kill any bugs, leeches
I personally like a carno and meg in the early game with a pterodactyl one for the waters one mean carno machine and a scout bird too look around but a parasaur and trike are great too !
So actually fun fact about my first playthrough, I was on the island level 1, Oh whats that in a the distance a spine. let me go investigate, got about 20 feet away when i heard something to my side, it went into the tree line so i had lost sight of it, a spinosaur that hasnt spotted me yet, i layed down hoping it would go away, and it started attacking something, i decided to run, that didnt work it bit me or something. and that is my first death in the game, within like 5 minutes of starting
Thylacoleo is actually a prehistoric australian marsupial - closer to a kangaroo or a wombat than cats...I heard its the source of the ''drop bear'' myth in Australia.
Me and my friend tamed all of these in the beginning of our world... but as we advanced, we killed all of our tames and decided to get a army of ovis instead :)
I like how when he is talking about spinos he says, "great tame... if you can find one!" Dude, if you need a spino they always drive me away from my starting base... barely get a campfire up before it's breathing down my neck.
I have a top 10 video idea. Top 10 artifacts based on their visuals. This would not include the wave effect around the artifacts on the island but it would include the effects that emit from the artifacts themself wich is most notable with the extintion artifacts
Next Scorched earth, then Aberration, Extinction, Gen 1 & 2, then center, ragnarok, valguero, crystal isles, lost island, fjordur. Though unofficial maps are easy to make top 10. Place that dlc creatures with rex, Argentavis, yuty, theri, thylacoleo bary etc
Number 1 in my opinion would be the giga or kapro giga deals tons of damage and kapro can drag players or smaller tames into the water as they attempt to get oxygen you can attack em
4:04 that's exactly why dodos went extinct. They disappeared only recently because they were very friendly to humans and humans considered them stupid and killed for fun
No one talks about my favorite dino so i might have to convert you all in taming the most useful dino in this game. The Procoptodon. Fastest traveller as it takes only 4 minutes to cross the entire the island map. Can kill every creature in the game without taking a single damage thanks to the knockback ability (this is how i take down alpha dinos really easily even tho it takes a couple minutes to kill them but still faster than farming for a trap or something). It is also to me the fastest berry gatherer as you can just walk so fast and use the kick ability to get all the bushes around. It's very tanky and the only way you can die with it is by being stunned by a microraptor around a dangerous wild dino. It takes near to 0 fall damages which is unbelievable, the only way i died with it it by jumping from the top of the volcano to the bottom of the map lmao, but it can easily survive 75% of this height of the volcano in fall damages anyway. It is also useful for raising babies with the bonuses... If you are in the early game and do not play on 50 times xp rate, this creature will carry all your game and even when you will unlock better creatures, it's still like 3 times faster than any other dinos you can even reach herbivore island without a raft only in 2 jumps on Ark Ascended. Once you tame this thing, you never use any ther land creature to travel, it also can carry a lot of weight so you can farm any ressource really easily in the early game !!!
forgot to mention it's small enough to fit in most of the caves and with the jump ability you can easily go up and down in all the caves. You can also carry 2 small dinosaurs at once by putting one in the pouch and grab another one in your hands. So for example if you wanna tame a Dung Beetle for your farm, you can easily pick it up in the cave with the procoptodon or just grab it in your hands !
i still forgot to mention that this is the only dinosaur who can outrun a wyvern on scortched earth and you can just jump around any put it asleep with trank arrows (assuming you are not a weak easy trap player xd)

I would've like to see the basilo in top 10, as it's a super easy tame and super overpowered in the ocean just rare spawns on the island
Besides the Argentavis, it's difficult to pick a top 10. There are even creatures that ride on your shoulder that are incredibly useful.
As someone that didn’t get into ark till the pandemic I’m interested to see a pre TLC/vanilla/old kibble system Top 10 creatures
Tapejaras are good, if you can bola one that is, I managed to find one glitched into a tree.
So early it’s only in 360 p
Aaaah Nostalgia ! Remember my first adventure on the Island like it was yesterday but gosh it was painful to find high level creatures.
“It ain’t easy being this much of winner, Ark 2 better watch out.”
-The argy after getting the number 1 spot in so many top tens
I love your vids man keep it up
Love the Yuty. By far my favorite Dino in the game and in real life. Sad to see it go as I'm pretty confident it will not make it to ARK2 but one can still hold on to hope. Glad to see it make the spot it did.
Why will the yuty be gone it's a unique dino not like everyother dino like rex spino giga they all are same
@@yourhonestbro217 Most likely due to it being a very close resemblance of the rex just with more feathers. It's gameplay mechanic in ARK1 is what made it extremely popular. However that mechanic if reintroduced could be put on a new more unique looking creature or dinosaur. I would still love to se the Yuty in ARK2 myself.
yeah the yuty and the theri needs to exist in ark2. it would be sad if they go
Ive been playing ark for a few days now and ive been slowly moving farther up the island and at the time of this my main dino is a sarco and i came here looking for a fast and powerful dino that can get me an argentavis and a mammoth and the thyler seems like the right thing for the job so thank you very much!
Love these top 10s after work
So glad my favorite tame is number 1.
Argy is soooooo useful and for me a need on Ark maps.
Respect to Raasclark for putting dodo in 8 place 💯👍🗿
I like that Giga didn't get to even 10th place, but dodo is on 8th place. Dodo is the must have tame in ark!
The iguanodon is too underrated
-fast (only on 4 legs though)
-inf stamina (again only on 4 legs
-good weight for early tames
-saddle unlocks really early
-can fight (or run)
Seriously this thing is godly
Would love to see a top 10 Caves or Boss Arenas
Another cool trick with argies is how piss easy they are to tame. If you let a wild one eat a corpse before it starts running away from having too much torpor, and manage to KO it while it has the rapid healing buff, it’s food will plummet, letting you tame it very very fast. Same trick works for daedon and the pigs hunger debuff.
'Tickle Chicken'?
That name is so much better than 'Danger Floof'
Nice one!
me no like Therizino, always hunting me down... good stuff Sir RaasClark
got the Thyla, and gotta say One is really loving it
I'm always getting around with an Argy and I will often have a cryo'd rex ready for quick deployment in emergencies. Sarco seems to be my go to when getting around in the water.
I miss the online gameplay, though.
I think 2nd place is well deserved for the Thyla, I love the marsupial kitty very strong, fast, and powerful. I fully recommend getting yourself one of these bois you’ll never regret it.
Top tier list
Probably the best one i've seen .
The tuso is crucial for underwater traversablity and gatherering like black pearls, silica pearls, underwater caves and the oil it produces.
Neat video raas, but what the name of the song
Very entertaining video, and very informative and to the point.
Happy to see my favorite tame make it on the list, even tho it's in 10th place.
Oh, there is no daeodon in the list. I think it should been because daeodon makes things heal REALLY fast, even if the creature is missing a so much HP because the daeodon heal is % based.
Waiting for that 30k tame to heal is a nightmare without a heal pig.
I agree the argent (only on the island) really deserves the first spot
may i ask what's so good about the basilo?
definitely a beastly and not very difficult tame but I think the tuso will outperform it across the board. prehistoric whales are my favorite and I always look for a basilo for underwater caves but as soon as you get a tuso you shred the biggest baddest alpha mosas
For me was Bronto my favorite good for clearing plot for building😊😊
i really hoped the mammoth was higer after all all the dinosaurs are very well ranked in this video but the mammoth deserved to be higher since its really satasfying to farm resourses
list of dinos I have:
Dodo Therizino Rex Baryonyx
list of dinos I dont have:
Mammoth Megatherium Spino Yutyrannus and Thylacoleo
I find it hilarious how the Dodo always makes the top 10 in every Ark Tuber's video. lol
Everyone who didn’t vote for Argy, next time let’s consolidate our votes on Dodo so we have a new top bird.
great vid as always
Guys! Your forgetting about beelzebufos. They can go super fast in water and has a poison, torpidity attack and don’t forget there super powerful jump! The best early game mount, a great mid game animal and a okay late game animal
And they can insta kill any bugs, leeches
I personally like a carno and meg in the early game with a pterodactyl one for the waters one mean carno machine and a scout bird too look around but a parasaur and trike are great too !
So actually fun fact about my first playthrough, I was on the island level 1, Oh whats that in a the distance a spine. let me go investigate, got about 20 feet away when i heard something to my side, it went into the tree line so i had lost sight of it, a spinosaur that hasnt spotted me yet, i layed down hoping it would go away, and it started attacking something, i decided to run, that didnt work it bit me or something. and that is my first death in the game, within like 5 minutes of starting
surprised the beaver didnt make this list they too have a very nice and handy saddle like the argentavis
Thylacoleo is actually a prehistoric australian marsupial - closer to a kangaroo or a wombat than cats...I heard its the source of the ''drop bear'' myth in Australia.
I am playing the island right now and this was so helpfull
I wish you made videos like this during arks prime now I gotta play mobile in order to actually play a full server, ps4 dead.
i fall in love whit your top 10
Im so happy today is friday, so i can tackle some of these tames
Me and my friend tamed all of these in the beginning of our world... but as we advanced, we killed all of our tames and decided to get a army of ovis instead :)
I like how when he is talking about spinos he says, "great tame... if you can find one!"
Dude, if you need a spino they always drive me away from my starting base... barely get a campfire up before it's breathing down my neck.
Quetz and rhynio (idk if i spelled that right) the beetle is by far my favorite flyer.
Love ur vids raasclark🙂
I have a top 10 video idea.
Top 10 artifacts based on their visuals.
This would not include the wave effect around the artifacts on the island but it would include the effects that emit from the artifacts themself wich is most notable with the extintion artifacts
Next Scorched earth, then Aberration, Extinction, Gen 1 & 2, then center, ragnarok, valguero, crystal isles, lost island, fjordur. Though unofficial maps are easy to make top 10. Place that dlc creatures with rex, Argentavis, yuty, theri, thylacoleo bary etc
At 9 minutes in you ask, so, Joshua trees grow in dry areas of north america. Southern California, for instance.
The argy is the ultimate tame
Number 1 in my opinion would be the giga or kapro giga deals tons of damage and kapro can drag players or smaller tames into the water as they attempt to get oxygen you can attack em
4:04 that's exactly why dodos went extinct. They disappeared only recently because they were very friendly to humans and humans considered them stupid and killed for fun
You should make a top 10 pvp base locations for each map
Sarcos are very underrated
Perfect for my starter tames
I am honestly surprised that the Ankylosaurus wasn't even mentioned, since it is essential for metal farming.
Argies have always been my fave even before the rework
I wonder why giga wasn’t on the top 10 or titanosaurus and quetzal? But very nice vid
Do not question raasclark
Question, where did you find what all the buffs and debuffs do? (Also what does the hoarse effect on parasaur do?)
A good list, but dire bears should be on there somewhere. I have a non-mutated one that I bred that deals over 2k dps, and has 15k hp.
Just a small tip if u do another map specific top 10 creatures maybe a small little map with the spawn locations 😅😅😅
Argy FTW - always my go to babu.
“What a great list, couldn’t have thought of any creatures that are more iconic and loved by everyone…so this means we’re gonna be in Ark 2 right?”
-Every creature in this list waiting to appear with a new look and abilities in an Ark 2 trailer
