    OMG I love Dr. Funk I was diagnosed with stage four Denovo ER PR positive breast cancer with bone mats in 2020 started her clean eating. I’ve been stable with my disease just on Letrozole since then… Mine was hard to diagnose. I went every year for a mammogram and ultrasound since I was 30 and that year I actually had an MRI at the beginning of the year and it was undetectable. I had some breast changes after that a dimple, and a pulling of my breast when I would lift my arm up I just want people to be aware of that symptom. I had no idea that meant I had breast cancer… The fall of 2020 it was when my mammogram showed I had lobular in both breasts they thought it was early stage I don’t present in the normal way my tumor markers looked low. I was scheduled for a double mastectomy, and to go on a blocker… When they did my scans, it didn’t even show in my bone scan and it showed in my CT scan… I really had no symptoms. I don’t have bone pain. It’s a crazy disease and very scary that some of our screenings do not show lobular breast cancer. I really hope they do more research and come up with better screenings for this type… But I am grateful and thankful and happy to be alive and thriving and love all the great information Dr. Funk provides us with. I follow her diet as if I was a early stage cancer survivor…

    Just wanted to note. Chopping or blending before cooking to activate enzyme in order to make sulforaphane would not work for packaged frozen cruciferous vegetables, as frozen vegetables are blanched before packaging to destroy enzymes (to increase shelf-life). In that case, sprinkling mustard powder on a prepared dish, or eating wasabi or eating some raw cruciferous vegetables (which are not store-bought frozen kind) would be appropriate way to get the enzyme.

      I keep white mustard seeds in a pepper grinder. That way I can get a fresh grind of mustard powder full of the myrosinase enzyme over cooked cruciferous vegetables. And fresh white mustard is very mild, so it won’t make everything taste like mustard from a jar (which is pasteurized, so the enzymes are deactivated there).

      @@broddr that is a good idea.

      @@broddr make sure your food is below 48 degrees Centigrade (118 degrees F) when you sprinkle mustard powder as most of food enzymes are destroyed at or above 48 degrees Centigrade.

    I used to eat raw broccoli, no problem. Now, I get violently GI sick if I do. Been on birth control a long time. What could this mean?

    • @andanssas
      @andanssas 8 месяцев назад +1

      Broccoli may have worms (like some fruit) that even after washing cling to it... Supposedly the stomach acid takes care of them, but try chopping/blending them, wait for a few minutes and cook/steam the bits for 8 min. (more time or high temperatures will get rid of sulforaphane) and see if you react in the same way.

    • @RK-tf8pq
      @RK-tf8pq 8 месяцев назад

      @@andanssas it takes about 40-45 minutes after chopping for sulforaphane to form, but I believe that sulforaphane itself is quite heat resistant (the enzyme needed to form sulforaphane is the problem when cooking as it is destroyed well below the boiling point.). I haven’t seen anywhere where it says you can destroy sulforaphane if you cook for more than 8 minutes.

      Wash the broccoli thoroughly after soaking them in salt water for five minutes at least, to kill bacteria before you eat them raw.

      Plants build muscles better than animal proteins. Look at protein rich plant fooods. They have more bioavailable amino acids in them.
