It was't until I learned how milk was made, I realized how much I truly never needed their milk in the first place. I mean the idea of drinking human breast milk as an adult is gross to me and at least that would be my own species.
It is really heartbreaking for the cows AND we don't even have a nutritional need for their milk anyways.
How many types of Blood group are there in human body ? How many types of Blood Pressure/Hypertension group are there in human body ?
Why is meat & chilly bad for piles ?
I like human milk . Infact I am going to transition to it. Cows are gross but humans eat healthier. Good alternative. 😄
Thank you for speaking up for the animals Dr. Barnard. It is refreshing to hear a vegan / plant based doctor advocating on behalf of animals.
Thank you very much both Dr. Barnard and Chuck. I’ve started Vegan diet since the end of last November and my weights went down from 155 lbs to 147 lbs. That was the first time below 150 lbs since 2001. No matter how I exercised, running, swimming and biking, weight did not lose much. Only vegan diet works for me.
This was excellent! Thank you Chuck and Dr. Barnard! Happy New Year! I'm 2 months away from celebrating my 1 year anniversary of commencing my vegan journey. I'm down 52 lbs and counting.
If "keeping it real" were a person that would be Dr. Barnard describing the production of milk... completely sobering!
Thank you so much for talking about the dairy industry. Absolutely heartbreaking. I found out about it 6 years ago and have been vegan since. Much respect and love to you Chuck and Dr Barnard xx
Thank you for bringin awareness about the inhumane practices of the dirty dairy industry Dr. Barnard. You legend!
🐑🐑 sheep 🐑🐑
This I know about cows and calves. I grew up in the country. I had to turn your talk down , because my heart was breaking. But how brilliant it is that you are such an advocate for animals that suffer so much in the food industry. Thank you.
This podcast was quite informative. Continue the good work. Blessings
Thanks for another great video👍Happy new year to both of you😇Have a blessed year🙏
Oh that dairy cow info breaks my heart I have just gone vegan at (60) and this just makes me more determined to stick to it.
Love your channel! I just stopped eating diary and eggs. It turns out that these foods were aggravating my exema and inflammation. Now knowing how diary foods are made, it is so heartbreaking. Thank you both for caring for our health, planet, and animals.
Thank you Dr Neal Bernard for providing all the facts ..including the truth about dairy cheese. I agree..to eliminate cravings just educate yourself on the production process ..heartbreaking💔Thank you for not shying away from it and using your voice for the voiceless ..Hero! 🙏🌱💚
My favorite health channel. You provide well researched information. Thank you very much! Happy New Year Chuck and Dr. Barnard. You are amazing!!!
Congratulations to Chuck. Thank you so much.
I would like to wish the physicians committee a Happy New Year and all the staff the best for 2022 .
Thank you for bringing all the awesome nutritional info on the regular! You two are a great combo 👍
Thanks for the great video Chuck & Dr. Barnard
Thank you Dr. Barnard for sharing the process of producing dairy. I was in tears even though I know the story. I shared this segment on my social media and hope it will help people realize another reason why they should not have it.
I had an interesting comment by a friend of mine, we treat agriculture animals terribly they are living in misery and mistreatment, so when we eat them we also live in misery with our health and mental health as every cell every thought every vibration of that animal is now part of us.
Love these. It was great to hear some real talk about the dairy industry. Animal Rights!
Nice way to start 2022. CONGRATULATIONS.
Congratulations Chuck! I'm so GLAD I found this channel! My family and I turned to a plant base diet 10 months ago (cold turkey for the adults and still transition the young). It has has been a journey and so MANY questions to be answer, and this channel always have those answers! THANK YOU!!! Keep it up and Happy New Year!!
Really great start to 2022 and Happy New Year from England Chuck.
Two of the best and most intelligent speakers on Health and the Benefits of a plant based diet. So looking forward to watching every video you release in 2022 and hoping more and more people see the health benefits of this diet not to mention help reduce cruelty to animals and damage to the environment.
Keep up the good work fellas !
Cheese was definitely the hardest thing for me to give up, too, but for anyone struggling with the thought, all I can say is just try giving it up cold turkey (or should I say cold tofu? 🤣). I was vegetarian for over 10 years before being completely vegan because I loved dairy and eggs. Once I finally committed to not having either one anymore, it was not nearly as hard as I thought, and now a few years later I don't even miss it! You can do it!
Well said. I make an excellent herbed cream cheese from cashews. We don’t need to be denied excellent tasty food. We can have great food and health which I just love.
Great conversation!!!!!
Your book is amazing dr barnard
Thank you both, gentlemen!
eating God's way. All vegan. It is all in the bible.
Great, thanx sooooo much, love the both of you ❤❤❤
Watching from Vermont!!! LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!
The BEST show!!! 🙏💯💕💚🎯
I started crying to hear the milk production process. How cruel. Proud to say I gave up cows milk years ago due to repeated growth of ovarian cysts and fibroids. No Doctor directed me to do so, I figured it out myself.
I appreciate this video and content! I still want to know more about DHA and Omega 3s thank you!
Excellent healthy Show , keep the Podcast coming, Vera E, Pensacola, Florida
Congrats from Switzerland Chuck!
I always buy mixed frozen vegetables of all different kinds and eat 400-700g a day plus 300g of fruits. Carrots, tomatoes and other veggies I do eat raw. Since I eat 4000 kcals a day as a weightlifter I have no time to cook my food besides steaming veggies. I empty an commercial sized freezer every 14 days.
eating God's way. All vegan. It is all in the bible.
I always feel more knowledgeable after one of your videos.
You are amazing this is my favourite watch
¡Bravo! 👏👏👏 Lo único que a veces echo de menos es el queso. A partir de ahora lo veré conotros ojos. Gracias por el razonamiento 😊👌
Happy New year Chuck and Dr N Barnard. I just think people must be strong and motivated just to go Plantbased and that try to be Brave🥦🥝🍌
Hooked on your videos
The. Best. Thank. You
I have been vegan now for 8 years. I am so glad you told about the dairy industry because it was knowing that which turned me vegan. Every time I craved cheese after I started my vegan lifestyle I thought about crying cows and dead calves. It worked. I see them on every bottle of milk. There are now some very good vegan cheeses but I don't find them addictive like dairy is. Why is dairy so addictive?

Happy new year 🎈🎆🎊 thanks you for all you doing love you all but I’m in love 🥰 with chuck 🙏❤️😘🥰🌱💃🏻😘🎆🎈🥳
Went vegan just before Thanksgiving. Thank you for your advice, help, and encouragement.
Happy healthy New Year…
The South Africa people eat a lot of corn /fine corn they make a porridge of it and thats South Africa STAPLE FOOD, we call it maize porridge texture like Polenta.I am from New Zealand but we still eat it🌽
I love porridge, we always eat rice porridge and oats porridge. But no corn porridge yet. Thanks for a good idea. I will try to make a corn porridge next.
Thank you for all the advice. I am a mom of two and I am so thankful for vegan doctors. It’s really hard for me to get my family on board with a full vegan lifestyle but I try my best everyday to give them vegan snacks meals and try to mix it up. I can’t call myself a vegan because me and my kids take honey once a day for medicinal reasons when our allergies act up we buy from a small local bee farm from a very loving family and it seriously takes away our allergies symptoms so that my kids don’t have to take harmful prescriptions for allergies. I have love for all animals especially the bees, if we take it for medicinal reasons is it still cruel to the bees and bad for us? I don’t think so but I wanted to get some input from others especially a vegan doctor
I am using soy milk for the past 20 years because I am allergic to cow milk and I eat sheep/goat cheese, very tasty. But after hearing what you said about the dairy industry, good Lord, unbelievable. How is the situation concerning sheep/goat dairy industry ?? I am curious to know. Meanwhile Dr.Barnard and Chuck, you are doing a great job: Blessings for 2022 and greetings from the Middle East !! 🐑🐐💐
Ur soooo inspiring CHUCK!!!!! 🙌💯💕💚🎯🙏
Dr Neal Barnard’s description of how milk is produced is both accurate and educational.
However, the advice to take a B12 supplement as a matter of course is incorrect.
1) Get tested first to determine if you have a B12 deficiency before taking a B12 (or any) supplement.
2) If you’re on a vegan diet, your gut microbiome will produce all the B12 you need for you. In fact, I don’t take B12 supplements yet my B12 level is four times the upper limit of the reference range!
I do take a Vitamin D3 supplement, though, 5,000 IUs daily as when tested in December 202 my D3 level was less than half the lower limit of the reference range.
Calcium is an essential component of plant cell walls. All plants have cells and also cell walls so they all have calcium. The only problem is that some plsnts, notably spinach and taro, are high in oxalic acid. The oxalic acid will bind with calcium and render the calcium not bioavailable by forming calcium oxalate. So don’t eat raw baby spinach leaves. Cook spinach thoroughly to destroy the oxalic acid. Taro is not eaten raw anyway. Its the sharp calcium oxalate crystals that make taro leaf sap itchy on contact with your skin. The oxalic acid crystalises when exposed to air and produces calcium oxalate crystals. Its these sharp crystalsvthat produce the itchiness.

What about thyroid patients. They can't eat soy, broccoli, spinach etc. Then how do nutrient (e.g. calcium etc) come from? And without soya/tofu how is protein met without substantially increasing carb intake
Chuck does a stellar job! Love your positive approach and love your wardrobe!
I like Chuck too. Always well prepared and articulate.
The best news on you tube for vegans
It's evidence from our teeth, gorilla teeth, intestine and carbon dating the past that we are meat eaters. He is spreading misinformation.
I wish to ask the Dr when you are taking high blood pressure medication , is it safe to drink barely green drink QD does it interfere with medication.if the barley green that have the kelp in it, thanks so much.
Dr Bernard, please start saying that ALLLL people need B12 or similar, cuz the majority lacks those vits!
I like low fat but seem to have some problem with Vitamin A and Zinc-any good sources and absorb them without increasing fat too much?
doc is olive oil good for fibroids?TIA
Dear one of my friends suffering from niddle and pin feeling in his body. Lot of pain in his body rather he can't sleep very well due to pin and niddle feeling .I want to know whether this problem can be cure with plant based diet. Pl ask this question from every plant based Doctor like Neal Barnad , Dr. Gerger and Dr. T Colin Campbell
what about older individuals like mid 50's and 60's and early 70's... Is a plant based diet still beneficial no matter what age?
What about a supplement with vitamin D & K combined? What would be the max dose?
Is it possible that eating a whole food plant based enhances the oxygen saturation of the blood?
Thank you for your answer.
eating God's way. All vegan. It is all in the bible.
Jesus NEVER sinned. In God's original creation, before the fall, it was all vegan.
47 years meatless, 17 vegan and the cow story made me cry even already knowing the details. EVERYONE should be forced to know these things. I will add - tell people how semen is collect from the poor bulls. Anal electrocution. 💔😢😠
Hi. Am trying to start a plant base diet but am having a hard time to start. I am an asian , so i love eating congee for breakfast, but my friends say congee is bad because it is high in carbohydrates, is this true? Isn’t it the same as rice?
Congee is excellent and full of nutrients. It's plant based and filling. Maybe it's possible to add or make sure to have greens ie spinach, kale, broccoli, collards, brussel sprouts with the congee or later with another meal. Two generations ago this is exactly what people had for breakfast and they were healthy and rarely fell sick. As long as no other unhealthy ingredients are added to it.
Is coconut milk bad for you as coconut oil ?
ALL Vegans should inform themselves by reading a couple good Plant Nutrition Books, as we are not taught this at school etc. I recommend a book called Vegan Nutrition Pure & Simple.
What about plant base cheese
Can a heart patient eat egg whites with a plant based diet
I’ve been vegan for 6 months. The last blood test my sodium was low 1.7 but my number of blood pressure keeps the same ( I’ve been in high blood pressure for +10 years and still taking pills). My doctor told me to add salt in my diet. If I do, is the extra salt will raise my blood pressure ? Please advise. Thank you
You may find the book ” You’re not sick,You’re Thirsty! By F. Batmanghelidj,M.D. interesting. He is not against 1/2 t. Salt a day. Chapter 7 talks about blood pressure and dehydration.
From what I have been able to find out too much salt is bad (retains too much fluid in the blood vessels) and too little salt is bad (blood vessels need salt to contract and expand). For me I had less blood pressure problems when I added some salt to my diet. Redmond RealSalt in water. I added a 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon a day in a glass of water. I got to not having any added salt in everything that I ate, even read all the ingredients for salt free. That I came to find out was bad, we need some salt. Hope what I did gives you some place to start doing online searches for your particular situation.
Hi. Sue here from south Africa. I'm vegan for 8 months. Have no energy. What supplements should I be taking
More starch, more water
@Aaron Loos meat makes me tired and weak. The answer is beans peas rice potatoes and corn
None. Change what you eat! Your body is telling you something. Listen to it.
I was vegetarian 11 years ago for 3 years and I got anemia. I wan to go vegan now. What shell I do to avoid anemia and prevent it from happening again in the future?
Get your greens, beans, and grains in, with a vitamin C supplement.
There can be multiple causes of anemia, not just iron deficiency, so you should see a doctor and get complete blood work done first to find out the cause. For example, it could be because you're losing too much blood (not just menstrual, could be in the digestive tract) or have trouble absorbing nutrients, or you could be not getting enough B12 or folate. Everyone should take B12. If it's lack of folate or iron, those are easy to get from food (best) or supplements. Just look up "plant sources of ___".
btw anemia is common among meat eaters too so eating meat is not the solution
I am 27, 6 ft 1 inch, weigh 155 pounds, am whole food low fat vegan, athletic but have hypogonadism (very low Testosterone, sometimes below 100. Is there anything I can do food related to improve my condition?
Thanks Chuck and Dr. Barnard as always!
What was wrong with the basic balanced diet in the proper foods groups they taught you in grade school? Why would you want to stray from that?
How long have you been a vegan and how long have you had hypogonadism?
@@allee3476 Hypogonadism I have had for 5 years. I became vegan 2 years ago, which improved my numbers but didn't fix it completely. Before going wfpb my numbers were at 0.
What will happen to dairy cows if they are no longer used for milk production? Would they become extinct due to not being needed?
Dairy cows aren't a natural species, we bred them.. and animal agriculture is the number one cause of species extinction. I think it would be just fine if we stopped breeding them and they went extinct.
And no animals left to abuse.
💖🙌
Why is my cholesteral high, when I eat a very good vegan diet, have no plack in my heart or neck arteries and my triclserates are normal. I run regularly, and am a healthy weight, 65 years old. Had a Tia last year and my bad cholesteral was 155, total 232. Blood pressure fine too. Was put on baby aspirin a day and lipitor. I increased my b12 to 1000 a day and also started taking vitamin d, 1000 a day. Why did my cholesteral go up. I use no oil and very little salt or sugar. Thought I was doing great until the Tia.
What about nuts and avocados? Avoid those
This doesn't look like an honest post. No one is going to have a cholesterol of 225 on a true vegan diet
@Matthew Kim Nuts and avocado contain saturated fat
You could have a genetic mutation that makes your body produce high amounts of cholesterol.
“I just couldn’t give up cheese” is like nails on the chalkboard to me
eating God's way. All vegan. It is all in the bible.
@@pastorpeteonthestreet3112 don't they eat a bunch fish in the bible? Plus they sacrifice people and animals all the time. Objectifying women is another good reason to simply treat it like a historical artifact, not a device of moral guidance.
they ate meat after the fall of man. God's initial plan was vegan. Are you saved from your sins?
@@pastorpeteonthestreet3112 no, I plan on burning in hell for eternity
The bible is inerrant, infallible, and inspired. Written by God through approx. 40 men, in 3 languages, across 3 continents. It is the biggest selling book in history. Read it and be saved.. Ignore it and be lost forever in Hell. That is what the bible says. It is by far the most important book, about the most important subject, written by the most important Author in history. It contains all the Truth we need to be saved or lost. It teaches us about God, Jesus, The Holy Spirit, sin, salvation, Heaven, Hell, and much more. In the bible we find that God is Holy, Holy, Holy. We are all selfish, self seeking sinners. God will punish every sin ever committed by every human being. Either Jesus Christ paid for your sins on the cross, or you must pay in Hell for eternity. Which do you choose?
That is what the bible says.
Heck with evolution or once being chimpanzees ! Genisis says that people DIDNT start eating meat til AFTER the flood.Even ALL ANIMALS ate plants before the flood ! Great answer ! Lol
My question: is it possible that one has a higher oxygen saturation of the blood because of eating plant based?
Thank you for your answer.
Doka
I eat meat on keto and my o2 sats are like 98…..You can’t get much better than that,But I am right now looking to go plant based/vegan…….Because this meat is killing my insides.
I haven't heard that but a plant diet can help your vessels to open up more (epithelium becomes healthier and you are also eating foods that help to produce more nitric oxide in the body) which will make it easier to get blood around at lower pressures and, perhaps, allow your blood to take in more oxygen with each breath.
Exercise can help to as that can increase red blood cell count.
So, vegans need supplements Vitamin B12? Why can't vegans get Vitamin B12 from being vegan food sources?
Because Homo Sapiens are not plant based.
We were created by God who gave us plants, fruits, nuts and seeds. Genesis chapter one. Then judgement came. The entire world was flooded. Right people were spared. They ate meat out of need. Meat is for a time of famine. Evolution has no clue just feelings.
@Aaron Loos History and scripture. Meat is not the same as in the beginning. It was scarce and pure. Now, it is mass produced containing antibiotics and hormones. Man did not eat meat prior to the Fall. By today's standards meat is toxic.
@Aaron Loos Enjoy your ignorance. You speak like a fool. Do whatever you want. Your life is insignificant.
Book of Daniel commands us to follow a vegetable diet.
@@spoudaois4535 Not really. But good point.
@Matthew Kim How much do you weigh? What is your job? So full of wisdom.
Objectively inherently No, Those who eat a correct plant diet do not "need" any supplements even B12.
@Aaron Loos most of what I growin my living soil garden & a really good plentiful bioavailable aquatic plant source called duckweed/water lentils. As well my own gut flora & the soil when I garden . Hope that helps 🙂🙂🙂
@Aaron Loos Very interesting, I didn't know intestines didn't Do their job of absorbing things , Tell me more.
@Aaron Loos intriguing, what about the b12 that is metabolized & stored in the liver . Oh & by the way 16yrs of books & first hand biochemistry, biology, anatomy & physiology.
@Aaron Loos 1st serum levels do not give you an accurate picture, 2nd I haven't taken any B12 supplements at all ever my whole life, 3rd I do not consume refined products or fortified products or foods. I've consumed nothing but plants in macros of 10% or lower fat - an average of 15% protein - and 75% or higher carbs no extra oils and high fiber whole foods minimumly to not processed for the past 30+ years and was vegetarian even 6 - 7 years prior to that. I've never been vaccinated I've never had the flu or any illness for that matter, I very rarely have a detox/colds, in general roughly around 11 mabe 12 years or so and they are very minor at that. Just for reference though my blood serum levels are in the high normal range as of 2 years ago as all my markers are good to above average . I don't "have" any doctors & don't take any pharma drugs. I work out 2 - 3 times a week I'm very healthy at 50+ I have a fat ratio of 12- 13% I'm 5'6" I weigh 197 avg. pounds I do random high intensity interval training and strength training I bench press 265 leg press 1170 curl 185 squat 220 and deadlift 560 , I would say everything is normal and that I'm doing fairly decent.
Take that!!!!
Ok so I'm on carnivore diet, all of the food I eat, eggs, butter, bacon and beef can be sourced within 10 miles of where I live in the UK. I don't need to take any vitamin or mineral supplements.
However, vegans need to source fruit and vegetables from all over the planet to have a balanced diet. We can't grow avocados, soy etc here in the UK. Vegans also need a vitamin B12 supplement minimum to be healthy. How did vegans get round this problem 20,000 years ago?.
Anyone saying I'm going to die an early death, please I've been eating like this for 15years. I have a 32inch waist at a height of 5' 10" at 61yrs of age. My friends and associates who eat plant based food are all overweight, some have died of cancer, heart disease. Some have type 2 diabetes.
Something just doesn't add up.
I like my meat Thank you!!
eating God's way. All vegan. It is all in the bible.
that was after the fall. Stop eating dead animals and see how your health improves. More importantly, are you saved?
Grains are not healthy!!!!!
Sorry!!!
If Vegan diets are so natural why are there no societies around the world that naturally eat that way? The argument makes no sense. Also every nutrient that you have a high chance of being deficient in a vegan diet are high in animal products. Sure eat vegan if you are pro animal rights and believe that it is best for the environment. But this idea that it is the optimum diet nutrient wise is total nonsense.
WE ARE NOT APES,
IN THE BEGINNING GOD CREATED THE HEAVEN AND THE EARTH 🔥💯
We are definitely primates and also apes. The DNA and other evidence proves it.
Correct. Genesis states our original veg diet. After the fall meat entered in when the great flood judgement came.
