It was't until I learned how milk was made, I realized how much I truly never needed their milk in the first place. I mean the idea of drinking human breast milk as an adult is gross to me and at least that would be my own species.
It is really heartbreaking for the cows AND we don't even have a nutritional need for their milk anyways.

Thank you very much both Dr. Barnard and Chuck. I’ve started Vegan diet since the end of last November and my weights went down from 155 lbs to 147 lbs. That was the first time below 150 lbs since 2001. No matter how I exercised, running, swimming and biking, weight did not lose much. Only vegan diet works for me.

Cheese was definitely the hardest thing for me to give up, too, but for anyone struggling with the thought, all I can say is just try giving it up cold turkey (or should I say cold tofu? 🤣). I was vegetarian for over 10 years before being completely vegan because I loved dairy and eggs. Once I finally committed to not having either one anymore, it was not nearly as hard as I thought, and now a few years later I don't even miss it! You can do it!

I have been vegan now for 8 years. I am so glad you told about the dairy industry because it was knowing that which turned me vegan. Every time I craved cheese after I started my vegan lifestyle I thought about crying cows and dead calves. It worked. I see them on every bottle of milk. There are now some very good vegan cheeses but I don't find them addictive like dairy is. Why is dairy so addictive?

Thank you for all the advice. I am a mom of two and I am so thankful for vegan doctors. It’s really hard for me to get my family on board with a full vegan lifestyle but I try my best everyday to give them vegan snacks meals and try to mix it up. I can’t call myself a vegan because me and my kids take honey once a day for medicinal reasons when our allergies act up we buy from a small local bee farm from a very loving family and it seriously takes away our allergies symptoms so that my kids don’t have to take harmful prescriptions for allergies. I have love for all animals especially the bees, if we take it for medicinal reasons is it still cruel to the bees and bad for us? I don’t think so but I wanted to get some input from others especially a vegan doctor

Dr Neal Barnard’s description of how milk is produced is both accurate and educational.
However, the advice to take a B12 supplement as a matter of course is incorrect.
    1) Get tested first to determine if you have a B12 deficiency before taking a B12 (or any) supplement.
    2) If you’re on a vegan diet, your gut microbiome will produce all the B12 you need for you. In fact, I don’t take B12 supplements yet my B12 level is four times the upper limit of the reference range!
I do take a Vitamin D3 supplement, though, 5,000 IUs daily as when tested in December 202 my D3 level was less than half the lower limit of the reference range.
Calcium is an essential component of plant cell walls. All plants have cells and also cell walls so they all have calcium. The only problem is that some plsnts, notably spinach and taro, are high in oxalic acid. The oxalic acid will bind with calcium and render the calcium not bioavailable by forming calcium oxalate. So don’t eat raw baby spinach leaves. Cook spinach thoroughly to destroy the oxalic acid. Taro is not eaten raw anyway. Its the sharp calcium oxalate crystals that make taro leaf sap itchy on contact with your skin. The oxalic acid crystalises when exposed to air and produces calcium oxalate crystals. Its these sharp crystalsvthat produce the itchiness.

    • @sunbeamred8175

Congee is excellent and full of nutrients. It's plant based and filling. Maybe it's possible to add or make sure to have greens ie spinach, kale, broccoli, collards, brussel sprouts with the congee or later with another meal. Two generations ago this is exactly what people had for breakfast and they were healthy and rarely fell sick. As long as no other unhealthy ingredients are added to it.

From what I have been able to find out too much salt is bad (retains too much fluid in the blood vessels) and too little salt is bad (blood vessels need salt to contract and expand). For me I had less blood pressure problems when I added some salt to my diet. Redmond RealSalt in water. I added a 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon a day in a glass of water. I got to not having any added salt in everything that I ate, even read all the ingredients for salt free. That I came to find out was bad, we need some salt. Hope what I did gives you some place to start doing online searches for your particular situation.

      @eatplantsloveanimals 2 года назад +3

There can be multiple causes of anemia, not just iron deficiency, so you should see a doctor and get complete blood work done first to find out the cause. For example, it could be because you're losing too much blood (not just menstrual, could be in the digestive tract) or have trouble absorbing nutrients, or you could be not getting enough B12 or folate. Everyone should take B12. If it's lack of folate or iron, those are easy to get from food (best) or supplements. Just look up "plant sources of ___".

The bible is inerrant, infallible, and inspired. Written by God through approx. 40 men, in 3 languages, across 3 continents. It is the biggest selling book in history. Read it and be saved.. Ignore it and be lost forever in Hell. That is what the bible says. It is by far the most important book, about the most important subject, written by the most important Author in history. It contains all the Truth we need to be saved or lost. It teaches us about God, Jesus, The Holy Spirit, sin, salvation, Heaven, Hell, and much more. In the bible we find that God is Holy, Holy, Holy. We are all selfish, self seeking sinners. God will punish every sin ever committed by every human being. Either Jesus Christ paid for your sins on the cross, or you must pay in Hell for eternity. Which do you choose?
That is what the bible says.

I haven't heard that but a plant diet can help your vessels to open up more (epithelium becomes healthier and you are also eating foods that help to produce more nitric oxide in the body) which will make it easier to get blood around at lower pressures and, perhaps, allow your blood to take in more oxygen with each breath.
Exercise can help to as that can increase red blood cell count.

@Aaron Loos 1st serum levels do not give you an accurate picture, 2nd I haven't taken any B12 supplements at all ever my whole life, 3rd I do not consume refined products or fortified products or foods. I've consumed nothing but plants in macros of 10% or lower fat - an average of 15% protein - and 75% or higher carbs no extra oils and high fiber whole foods minimumly to not processed for the past 30+ years and was vegetarian even 6 - 7 years prior to that. I've never been vaccinated I've never had the flu or any illness for that matter, I very rarely have a detox/colds, in general roughly around 11 mabe 12 years or so and they are very minor at that. Just for reference though my blood serum levels are in the high normal range as of 2 years ago as all my markers are good to above average . I don't "have" any doctors & don't take any pharma drugs. I work out 2 - 3 times a week I'm very healthy at 50+ I have a fat ratio of 12- 13% I'm 5'6" I weigh 197 avg. pounds I do random high intensity interval training and strength training I bench press 265 leg press 1170 curl 185 squat 220 and deadlift 560 , I would say everything is normal and that I'm doing fairly decent.

Ok so I'm on carnivore diet, all of the food I eat, eggs, butter, bacon and beef can be sourced within 10 miles of where I live in the UK. I don't need to take any vitamin or mineral supplements.
However, vegans need to source fruit and vegetables from all over the planet to have a balanced diet. We can't grow avocados, soy etc here in the UK. Vegans also need a vitamin B12 supplement minimum to be healthy. How did vegans get round this problem 20,000 years ago?.
Anyone saying I'm going to die an early death, please I've been eating like this for 15years. I have a 32inch waist at a height of 5' 10" at 61yrs of age. My friends and associates who eat plant based food are all overweight, some have died of cancer, heart disease. Some have type 2 diabetes.
    Something just doesn't add up.

If Vegan diets are so natural why are there no societies around the world that naturally eat that way? The argument makes no sense. Also every nutrient that you have a high chance of being deficient in a vegan diet are high in animal products. Sure eat vegan if you are pro animal rights and believe that it is best for the environment. But this idea that it is the optimum diet nutrient wise is total nonsense.

The chronology of the bible makes the earth only 7 thousand years old. But we have fossils over 25 million years old. And there is no way that 7 thousand years is enough time for all that oil we produce to form. So how do you make sense of Genesis? Is it an allegory or a story just to learn from? Is literally true?
